Todd Tankersley worked with us patiently and tirelessly to supply our first Accessible Vehicle, a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. He and Adaptive were thorough and meticulous. A member of my family now uses a wheelchair for mobility so I was looking for an RV that would accommodate their needs. Reasonably priced wheelchair accessible Class B RVs are few and far between. In my search I came across the Pathway RV produced by Adaptive Vans. I called the company and spoke with Todd Tankersley, National Sales Manager, who patiently answered all my questions. Adaptive had several RAM Promaster vans on order and Todd was able to hook me up with one. Conversion of the van took longer than expected due to parts shortages caused by the pandemic. During the build process, Todd kept me advised of the progress and even sent me photos. When the van was completed Todd arranged for delivery to my home in NJ. We are very satisfied with the features of the van and the quality of the workmanship. So far we have only been able to use the van for short trips, but are looking forward to camping in the future. The video of the Pathway RV available on the Adaptive Van website is very representative of the finished product and worth checking out if you’re interested in a wheelchair accessible class B RV. I found the quality of the Adaptive Van Pathway RV to be excellent, the company responsive to my needs and requests, and easy to deal with; thus worthy of a five star rating.

Everyone knows how bad used car salesmen are. Dealing with Jay at Adaptive Vans was a completely different experience. First, he agreed to meet with us on his day off. We recently had a conversion completed at Adaptive Vans. What a pleasure it was to work with the fine people at this company. Bob, the owner, is not a behind the scenes guy. He is out front and hands on with the customers. When we went back to pick up our van he gave me a personal tour of the facility and showed me the step by step process of how a conversion is completed. OK Folks, Here’s the rub - I own a NEMT service based in Charlotte, NC. Anyone in my shoes should know that ambulatory opportunities are dwindling at a blistering pace as ride-share programs (Uber/Lyft) find new and innovative ways to penetrate our industry. As such, we’re forced to shift focus much more towards wheelchair transportation to remain viable. The expense associated with building a fleet of ADA compliant wheelchair vehicles can be staggering, even when scouring the used inventory market. Enter, Adaptive Vans.....At a reasonable price, I was able to convert ambulatory vans that I already owned (Dodge Grand Caravans, in my case) to manual, rear-entry wheelchair vans which are completely ADA compliant. This is my first experience with converted vans as all of my existing wheelchair vans are Super Duties. I wanted to wait a couple of months before I left my review to ensure I encountered a host of different transport scenarios to determine if there were any situations that would render these vehicles less than effective or more importantly, less than safe. I’m glad to report, I haven’t run into a single problem transporting ANY type of mobility solution regardless of weight or dimension. There is a TON of bad information being circulated about the limitations of converted minivans and I assure you it is just that ..... BAD INFORMATION! The ramps are wide enough to accommodate any type of chair that we’ve encountered and loading & unloading is SOOOOOOO MUCH faster and easier than manipulating the hydraulic/pneumatic/electric lifts. Everything is lightweight, free flowing and easy to maneuver. The conversion was meticulously done to make everything flow perfectly and it looks amazing! Best of all, you’ll see an IMMEDIATE impact on your fuel expenses as the Ford E-series and to a slightly lesser extent, the transit series, are gas guzzling tanks! I’ll keep a few of the Super Duty vans in my fleet for the REMARKABLY RARE occasion when more than one chair is in the van but aside from that, they’ll be window dressing for the parking lot. If you’re considering building a wheelchair fleet, I strongly encourage you to reach out to the folks at Adaptive Vans. If you’re anywhere close to the Atlanta area, I’d encourage you to take the trip and see the facility and meet the team. IT IS NOT AT ALL WHAT WE EXPECTED!!!!!!! The facility is HUGE and it is top notch. The team is fantastic and flexible with scheduling. This was one of the best strategic growth decisions we’ve made since we’ve been in business. Utilizing existing ambulatory vehicle inventory, about which we know the maintenance history, is a great move! It eliminates the uncertainty that always comes along with adding used vehicles to your fleet. Obviously, this review is written from a Transportation business perspective and focuses primarily on the manual rear-entry conversion but they do it all! I saw a bunch of different types of conversions being performed so I’m sure they’d be able to accommodate your needs as quickly and professionally as they did mine. That’s my two cents...

I met Robert and the fine folks at Adaptive Mobility Systems when I was looking for a small RV to begin full-time RV living. Their MaxVan mini RV looked perfect. So, I went there. I was given a tour of their remarkable facility where the magic takes place, and they showed me the MaxVan I was interested in. What an amazing piece of engineering! Passed all federal testing, too. They treated me with great respect, took time to answer all of my questions and gave me a terrific deal on the MaxVan. It has now been, literally, my home for a year and a half. I have taken it to all kinds of places - BLM land, National Forests, mountain roads and more. I have all the comforts of home in a wonderful vehicle that gets 19-20 mpg, is easy to drive, and parks in a normal parking space! Most of the people who have seen my MaxVan would have liked one, too-because its so well made and designed. I am not exaggerating when I say that Adaptive Mobility Systems and their MaxVan changed my life. I am one VERY happy camper!
