My coworker and I were in route from San Diego to Texas for work. While driving through Tucson our check engine light came on and we started losing power. After visiting a couple Ford dealerships in the Tucson area, they unfortunately couldn’t help us out. After searching for some diesel mechanics we came across Goldies. I forgot to mention we we’re driving our San Diego County Sheriffs tow truck Ford F-450 and heading to Texas to pick up a vehicle involved in a death investigation from San Diego. Upon arriving at Goldies I made contact with Mike (owner) and explained our situation. He immediately inspected our tow truck and determined the fuel filters needed to be changed. He wasted no time ordering the parts and had one of his mechanics (Paul) jump right on it and within less than one hour, we were on the road in route to our destination. If it wasn’t for the quick work, professionalism and courtesy they displayed towards Law Enforcement who knows if we would’ve made it to our destination and back to San Diego the next day. I recommend this shop to anyone in the Tucson area that’s looking for an outstanding and honest diesel mechanic. These guys are ROCK STARS!!!

The first time I took my truck there I had them rebuild the steering and they did a good job it took almost two weeks longer then they said it would though.Then I Took my truck in to have them put in an intercooler kit,They said it would take three days. It ended up taking them a couple days short of a month and when I got the truck back the first time they installed it wrong and pushed the power steering line into the pulley so when I got 100 yards away from their shop the power steering high side line blew up leaving the on the side on the side of the road. They did fix that right away. But now I’m working on my truck installing some other upgrades and I find the entire front clip which they had removed to install the kit is missing 3/4 of the bolts are not in it! One headlight has broken mounts and they lost one of my intake pieces! when I called them about it they said oh it’s around here somewhere we’ll call you back. I’ve called three times and each time it sounds like it’s a surprise to them and they don’t know about it now I’m out $100 intake piece and a whole bunch of bolts that are missing. I’m not very happy about it.

Ruined one of my heads on my truck because they were too lazy. I understand the chance about the bolt not coming out, but they drilled the hole crooked because they didnt remove the tire to have better access. Just didnt seem to care about doing it right, only fast even though I had to bring it in twice and it still took a long time.

Its very rare to find a mechanic shop that is more than willing to help you rather than just take your money very appreciative with a little bit of help they gave me they are very respectful and extremely knowledgeable I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Everyone here was awesome. They got my 6.0 Excursion in on very short notice for an oil cooler replacement. The price was very reasonable and the work done was top notch. Towed 11k 800 miles the next day no problem and deltas never went over ten. Appreciated the follow up calls, it shows they really do care.

I just picked up my truck on Friday from Goldies and was very impressed by their communication with me and their work. I own a 2500 dodge mega cab and had an issue with the turbo. After Goldies installed a brand new turbo that they got for me at a great price we received our truck back and within less than 30 miles the check engine light came back on. They immediately had us bring it back to them and made sure to correct the issue. They didn’t charge us extra for additional time they took to get it fixed and running properly even though the issue was not their fault. They warranty their work and stand by their word. Eric was very informative and friendly and even called Friday night and this morning to make sure our truck was running properly without any issues. Professional, honest, and know their diesels! We were traveling through from out of state when our a/c went out in our 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. When we called the shop they were extremely helpful and accommodating from the beginning. They were more than gracious in helping us find lodging and personally give us a ride in the meantime. (we had a 16 month old that needed to be tended to). They told us they would have our truck ready for us by the end of the day, and they most definitely did. Took my truck there for turbo issues. They said they could repair it... Its just a sensor they said! After $1000 of repair, oh no that wasnt it! Great can you return all the parts that were wrong ($600+) no we cant we threw away the boxes???? So they put in a whole new turbo my expenses were over $10,000 at this point. My truck has not run right since! After taking it to another shop today its going to cost me an additional $3000 to fix all there mistakes! I would never take a truck to this place they have NO clue what theyre doing!!!!! Horrible

I have known Mike for years and have sent countless customers to his shop over the years. I just had my 05 Excursion Powerstroke bulletproofed by his shop and let me tell you she runs better than the day I bought her. My family named our truck The Lady, Mike knows her well. His shop did all the upgrades on her a few years ago. He and his crew are the only ones I trust to touch her. If I didnt I wouldnt recommend them.

Bought an 03 F250 with the 6.0 and needed an HPOP and Oil Cooler. I priced other shops in town and found Goldies to be the best priced. I worked with Mike Garrick (shop owner) and they did a great job for a fair price! I wont let anyone else will touch my truck now, Even for oil changes.. He even spent time talking to me about my truck and things that may need to be done in the future. A+ experience.

I have taken both of my Diesel trucks to Goldies after getting a diagnosis of a bad turbo and a $5K fix, which turned out to be a intercooler hose that cost me $70. These guys have been nothing but honest, fair and very affordable. I dont get the well you should do this or it is recommended you do this, instead I hear things like, you could replace it, but its not broken so I would not spend the $$, not to mention how accommodating they are and their willingness to work with my schedule. I read the last review and it was clear to me that we are not getting the whole story. I have heard more people say that the other places quoted 2 to 3 times what Goldies actually fixed it for and that their work was far superior. These guys are top notch and I would not take my truck anywhere else!

Total rock stars. Great communication skills, the service and the price were very fair. Holmes Tuttle ford wanted a $200 diagnostic fee just to determine the problem. At that point, they will not even apply the $200 towards the bill! New car dealers have been screwing the community for years and I can prove it. If you want great and VERY personal service, I highly recommend Mike, Eric and his entire staff. Real people, real answers and I watched them work on my truck. I am a customer for life and if you are smart you will follow. To the few who left negative reviews, its a guarantee THEY were the problem. Small business owners have to work way harder to satisfy clients than Holmes Tuttle. Sounds like PC warriors who couldnt be satisfied by anyone. If you want your truck perfect, see Mike and Eric!

I was in the market for a diesel truck. I took 3 or 4 vehicles to them for a pre purchase examination and they only charged me for the first one. I bought a truck based on their recommendation and Im very happy. Great bunch of guys down there. Will use them for regular maintenance and any issues I might have.

Bringing up the Lemon car reviews. Goldies does not sell cars, it is a diesel shop. Said car sale was a personal transaction between the owner of Goldies and a gentleman from Texas. The gentleman flew down from Texas and was brought to the shop in which he spent over an hour looking over and nitpicking the entire car top to bottom pointing out thinks he felt to be flawed (he was also informed several times that the car was not finished). He had the opportunity to examine everything he wanted to look over and listen to the car run (on a forged crate motor with less than 100 miles on it). After he was finished they proceeded with the transaction. A few days passed, while some things were finished up while waiting for the vehicle transport (that he chose and sent), the transport showed up (late). He did not seem like a very top notch individual in the first place, he proceeded to pull the car around to load it in his trailer. In the process he took a speed bump quickly and dragged the bottom of car hard enough it pulled the exhaust tips off. He put them back on and went on his way. After 6 months of owning the car he is now claiming the car was sold to him with a blown motor. Instead of reaching the owner of Goldies and talking to him he set out to Slander the Goldies name by having all his pals leave bad reviews. It was a personal transaction that could have been handled between two said persons. It is not okay to put down a shop of good employees by slandering the name of the business over a personal trouble

Ive never wrote a review on any place of business before, but I think these guys deserve a huge thumbs up from me. Mike and Eric delivered on everything we discussed. And long story short...I travel for work with my 2004 F250 6.0 Harley Edition that pulls a 34 5th wheel maxing out the GVWR @ 20K Lbs. With 220,000 miles the ol girl nearly blew the head gaskets coming into Tucson. The legendary problems with the Ford 6.0 suddenly became a long list of upgrades I researched for weeks.The Locals out in Vail suggested Goldies and they were right I couldnt be happier with the results. They completely bulletproofed my Diesel at a price less than what I expected as a package deal. Even have a programmer with 4 Tunes so I can switch to Tow-Haul when its time to go or Performance mode when that Mustang just goes in the rearview mirror Lol.
