First time here. I chose this place because of the great reviews, and I wasnt disappointed. I had an old, vintage camera that I thought needed a couple things done. The owner was really pleasant and helpful. But what I appreciated most was that he told me one of the things I asked him to do wasnt needed, saving me some money. Some places may have just taken my money. Thats integrity! He also took the time to give me some advice on a couple things. I will definitely be back and I encourage anyone needing any camera related repairs/cleaning to give this place a try.
I am a professional photographer that has relied on Tucson Camera Repair since I arrived in 2008. John and Leticia have helped me so many times I cant count them with solid advice on equipment ranging from tripods to cameras. I heartily recommend them for anyone wanting to buy a new camera at a fair price, or get one repaired at a fair price. I am SO GLAD they are here in Tucson! Sincerely, Art
I had a loose part on the exterior on my camera lens. I took it to Tucson Camera Repair. The tech fixed it in about 5 seconds and didnt charge me. The staff was very nice and professional. Ill be using them for all my camera fixes, instead of sending my camera out of Tucson for repairs.
Big fan. Used them for 35mm camera refurbishment, and camcorder work. Response, professional and informative. Pleasure to deal with. Did great work brining old Pentax K1000 up to snuff. Rather than charge me for evaluating a dropped camcorder were able to extract tape at no charge and not charge bench fee but just be honest that it wasnt worth fixing. Really appreciated that, go to place will be back.
I went to this store to buy a lens cap and they didnt have one but the shop owner had one on a test camera and gave it to me for free! Another time I called trying to get help with my viewfinder it ended up being a setting error the person on the phone walked me through it. I have never spent any money at Tucson camera repair. But I know Ill be coming to them for all of my camera needs as long as I live in Tucson
These people are great! The staff is very knowledgeable and are ready to help with as much advice as you might need. Plus they give free estimates on repairs. I had them look at my Sigma lens that I had broken and even though it was an old discontinued model, they spent a few days trying to find parts which they eventually did. Unfortunately those parts cost so much I could not afford the repair. They didnt charge me anything for the estimate and all the time they took on it. Even though I had never bought anything there. But I certainly will in the future!
I would highly recommend coming here for all of your camera needs. My experience was very pleasant with reasonable repair costs. The people working are extremely polite and helpful. I do appreciate a business such as this!
They helped me with my camera and had amazing service!!
I had a wonderful experience at Tucson Camera Repair. The associate was very friendly and she handled my Canon DSLR with great care. I had my sensor, focusing screen, and lenses cleaned. All of which look fantastic. I will definitely be back 🙂
Words cannot express my gratitude to John at Tucson Camera! He went above and beyond to not only repair my beloved Nikon but shipped it to me like new! Tucson Camera is the best of the very best! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I cannot say enough good things about this store and their responsiveness/customer service. I actually was not able to purchase what I needed from them because they didnt have it in stock, but the associate was so helpful in getting me the information I needed, timeframes, and costs. I will definitely be purchasing lenses from them in the future. Thank you for your hard work and help, it is wonderful to have a high quality local business to trust!
Great experience at Tucson Camera Repair today! John walked me through a cleaning on my existing Nikon D7000 and sold me new D7500. He told me all of the new features and differences from my old camera. He even helped me with my lens filter ring replacement free of charge! Very friendly and professional.
Always great repairs on both film and digital bodies, at a fair price.
Tucson camera had been my “go to” repair shop for over 5 years. They are always helpful, very knowledgeable always providing prompt and reasonably priced service.
It was serendipity that I found this gem of a store here in Tucson. I was having an issue with my Canon point-and-shoot Elph 190 IS. It would not turn on even though I had charged the battery but still no power. I tried looking on the web for possible solutions but none of them worked. I looked on Canons site and the repair shop was in Newport News, VA.I saw #TucsonCameraRepair on North Oracle on the web and decided to stop by to see if someone could maybe give me a clue as to why it was not working --the camera is less than a year old. The guy working in the store (unfortunately did not get his name) was very friendly. He said let me check the battery to see if that is the problem. He went back in the repair area and after just a short while came back with the camera on and the lens extended. Somehow the battery contacts had gotten dirty/corroded and the battery was not delivering power to the camera.I was very happy that it worked without having to send to the East Coast. When I asked how much I owed him for his expertise and time, his response was nothing -- but he did suggest a good review on Google and Yelp --So here is the best I can do -- 5 stars and a note that the service and friendliness was like you might have gotten and expected in the days before Internet. Definitely will take any camera repair issue to this shop. If you are in the mode for a new camera, they sell Nikon. I love expertise, friendliness, and service and you get it here.
I had a problem with a dial on a Sony A7RII, after a prompt email exchange to get a time to come in I went to the shop - after a few minutes they gave me some initial repair details, but before scheduling the repair quickly cleaned out the dial with filtered air with the caveat this doesnt feel like it is going to help but..., the cleaning completely fixed the problem and saved me a repair!!! They took the time to explain the details, didnt charge me anything and best of all made me feel like they were willing to work with my schedule and needs! Great experience.
Tucson Camera Repair repaired my DSLR that had tumbled down a rocky hillside into a stream. There was a lot of work to do and parts to order. They gave me accurate timelines and the communication was great. When there was a problem with the image stabilizer in the repaired camera, they offered to install the new part without charge for labor. I very much appreciated their expertise and professional service and, thanks to them, am enjoying using my old camera once again.
I visited this shop for a minor technical issue in my DSLR. The gentleman was professional, kind and fixed the problem free of cost!, I would visit again for any forthcoming issues, hope not though.
Just purchased a Vanguard tripod as a Christmas gift. John walked me thru all the features and discussed the quality construction. This is a solidly built tripod with easy to use leg locks and comfortable sized locking controls on the ball head. Leticia helped me find a tiny spring to fix a lens cover while I was in picking up the tripod. Great service all the time!
Great service! Brought my camera in for a simple repair and the staff had it done in minutes. And since it’s a quick fix, the staff didn’t charge us a cent. Definitely will recommend.
I had a simple repair, a couple of screws to replace. These folks took care of me immediately and cheerfully and didnt charge a cent. You can bet theyll get my business the first chance I get to bring them some real work.
Extremely helpful and kind! They have a deep understanding of cameras and helped me out of tight squeeze.
Tucson Camera Repair is the only place in this city that I know of where we can actually get our cameras repaired! I would gladly send in my camera somewhere online if this wasnt a good place; I almost did but am so glad I did try this place. They are awesome!! They are quick, professional, fair-priced, and they are friendly. My Canon 60D started acting up in the middle of taking photos one day on a trip. I was extremely disappointed, and it was thankfully still under warranty. I called and then took it to this place to get it checked out before sending it in to Canon, and he (after remembering me and my phone call) inspected it quite quickly. He said it should be sent in and that he would do it for a fee. I paid him, and it was sent in. I trusted him to do this, and I am so glad I did! Canon tried to say that the camera was impacted and almost did not repair it under warranty. Tucson Camera Repair saved me at least $400 by advocating for me with their connections! Thank you so much!! I will now get my camera maintained here and recommend them any day to people. Awesome!
I needed to get my camera cleaned and John was very helpful and courteous. I also had questions and looking for recommendations on what lense would work better with my camera for wildlife photography. John gave me very good advice and will be coming back to him for any future camera needs. Its a nice and neat place of business too.
Amazing service! I came in to ask if they happened to sell any point and shoot cameras and I was sold an amazing functioning Olympic camera from here, despite there being no film cameras for sale. Thank you!!
I am a Realtor and I use my camera almost every day. When I dropped it on cement a couple of weeks ago I figured I would be buying a new camera because I need it for my work. I ran it over to Tucson Camera Repair, and I was amazed that they had it ready for me within 36 hours and it is working just great! The people there were super nice and I know where to go if I drop it again! I highly recommend Tucson Camera Repair!!
Tucson Camera Repair was the third camera shop I walked into today, and it will be the ONLY camera shop I ever return to. Leticia (counter clerk) was so friendly and helpful.. In fact, when I walked in with my Canon and saw they only had Nikons on display, I almost walked out. Instead, she said that they do all types of repairs, and spent a few minutes troubleshooting my lens issue. Unfortunately, I needed the lens for a vacation that were leaving for TODAY, so I really thought I was just outta luck, when it came to repairs and getting replacement parts, etc. I decided to leave the lens for an estimate (FREE!) and, while she was entering my information in the computer, John (the technician) walked in. Leticia explained what she thought the issue was, and he took it back right away to take a look. Much to my surprise, he found the issue in about 30 seconds. He looked, and they actually had the part IN STOCK! And in 5 minutes, my lens was as good as new!! All this on a walk-in, totally last-minute basis!! The service was incredible, the staff was awesome, and I will highly recommend Tucson Camera Repair to all of my friends/family. THANK YOU JOHN & LETICIA! You saved the day!!! :o)
I had two Canon point and shoot cameras that needed to be repaired. They fixed the one camera with battery and lens cover problems at no charge. The other camera needed new battery door and a repair to the battery box, the LCD assembly needed to be replaced and they even installed LCD cover at no charge. They were very nice and quick with the repairs. I am telling anyone who needs a camera repaired to go here. Thank you Tucson Camera Repair!
The absolute best Camera repair experience Ive had in my 4 decades of photography! The front and back of the house were knowledgeable and delightful to speak with. Well worth the drive in from Bisbee.
An excellent choice for camera repairs and Nikon sales. I have been a customer of Tucson Camera Repair for many years and have had the absolute best results.I most highly recommend this store.
Brought in my older film camera that had stopped working, they were able to fix it and now its working beautifully and Ive been able to shoot multiple rolls of film with it with no issues so far 😁 would definitely recommend
Im never sending my camera to Canon for repair again. After many fairly bad experiences with Canon repair, I decided to check out this place and I do not regret it.I knew I needed a new shutter. I had light leak for a while and one night one of the shutter blades just gave up and tried to jump out of the mirror box. Ill never know if this was cheaper than Canon (because they refused to give me a quote before sending the camera to them) but Id like to think this was less money or at least very close to the same. I had to pay a $45 deposit and then pay the rest when I picked it up. In my case, the actual cost was dead on with the quote I was given over the phone before dropping it off.Even if it wasnt cheaper, the level of customer service here was better and worth it. Not only did they replace the shutter block, they also threw in some other minor repairs for no charge (one of which Canon ignored even though I specifically asked them to fix it). They had to order the shutter from Canon so that added some time to the repair but from drop off to diagnosis to completion, I was very happy with the time it took to get my camera back. These guys are Nikon dealers but I can tell you that they know their way around Canon bodies too.
I have brought several lenses to Tucson Camera repair and have had great service each time. This last time I brought my trusty 16-35mm Canon. Long story, short it was something super simple and when I went to pick it up expecting to be charged, they said dont worry about it. With people nickel and dime-ing you at every chance its really nice to have a honest and thoughtful place to take your gear. Thanks again you are awesome!!
On vacation from Kentucky and lost an accessory to my Nikon D810. I found their store on the web and called to see if they had the part I needed. They answered the phone long before their regular hours and told me to come by the store and that they could help me. Not only did they have the part, but gave it to me free of charge. My past experiences are that most businesses take advantage of people from out of town. Tucson is lucky to have a business of this caliber.
Very insightful helpful couple carrying most essential items and have something for most major brands
Very helpful and very attentive. I was given a rundown of every aspect and feature on my OM-1, after inspection. Made my day when they handed me a 50 mm lens that was just laying around as well.
Recently went to Tucson Camera Repair and was, as always, incredibly impressed by the service. Not only were the staff (owners) friendly and helpful but my camera was returned back to me much faster than I expected. I have been going there for some years now and whenever I am in town will always return back to Tucson Camera Repair.
Exceptional and Knowledgeable Service: Im a bit embarrassed to say that I went to Tucson Camera Repair to repair an out of focus viewfinder on my Canon PowerShot SX40 HS camera. I did not realize that there was a focus adjustment for the view finder on the camera and that it had become knocked out of focus. Tucson Camera Repair patiently listened to my problem and within minutes showed me the way to adjust the focus on the view finder and I was back in business with my trusty camera. I offered to pay for her time, but was granted her expertise for free. She solved my problem (I was thinking that Id need a new camera) and do so patiently and efficiently. This is a store that I will return to again and again for exceptional and knowledgeable service.
Stopped by to get my camera checked out after seeing the good ratings and reviews. I told the front desk girl what was happening and since she didn’t have an idea she asked the “tech” in back. He came up and basically told me my issue could’ve been that my lens wasn’t on right. I’m not dumb and had tried different lenses and had the same issue, plus I know how to attach a lens. He then told me all this technical stuff that could be wrong and when I asked what I would have to do he replies condescendingly “oh YOU wouldn’t do anything, I would do xyz”. I was immediately turned off from his unwelcoming and unfriendly energy and decided not to have them check out my camera even though the place had good reviews. My experience wasn’t welcoming and I’m a little disappointed that I still have an issue with my camera with no ideas about what could be wrong.
Such helpful people. It was a simple fix, so they didnt even charge me. But they also gave me a little education at the same time. Will definitely go back.
Im publishing this review for my dad, Alex:I consider myself fairly camera-literate, but after hours of trying unsuccessfully to make my fathers (relatively inexpensive) point & shoot camera function properly, Dad brought it into Tucson Camera Repair on Oracle Road. Frankly, I thought the old camera was beyond hope.A most personable young lady at the counter showed the camera to the stores technician who took it in the back, and within what seemed like just minutes, the camera was back in perfect working order! And, since this incident, Ive recommended this shop to a friend who was also thrilled with his experience!Thank you, Tucson Camera Repair!
Very nice camera shop with onsite repairs.
Tucson Camera Repair has been a huge asset for me and my small photography business. When you use photo equipment every day there always comes a day when when an essential piece of equipment stops working. My clients are demanding, as they should be, they dont want to hear me say I cant get their images today because of equipment failure.Tucson Camera Repair has helped keep my business up and running more than once. Thank you Tucson Camera Repair!
I stopped in today with a extension tube mounting ring stuck on my 14-42 mm camera lens. The gentlemen took the lens in the back and within 5 or so minutes came back with the ring successfully removed from the lens. I was so relived that I finally had my smaller lens back in action! I wouldnt hesitate to take in another repair or to recommend the shop to someone in need of a camera equipment repair.
Great help, very friendly and fixed the issue with my camera.Thank you so much!
Great place to buy used Camera gear, John is very knowledgeable and is always willing to help.
Exceptional service and expertise. Had an issue with my film camera- film advance level was getting stuck. I brought it in and the gentleman fixed it within 5 minutes. Couldn’t be happier!
In todays world it is rare to find a business that exceeds expectations at every turn but Tucson Camera is just such a place. John and his technicians are excellent craftsmen. While the shop has mostly Nikon camera and lens they accept and repair all brands. Trust me should my wife Cannon ever need attention it will go to Tucson Camera Repair. Recently just before I was to shoot a wedding for a close friend I needed to get my camera and lens repaired. I took it in and he diagnosed what it would take to restore the camera and lens to pre-impact condition. Then he took the initiative to get the parts expedited and repair done. The camera and lens work great. My advise is to take your camera to Tucson Camera Repair whenever it needs attention. This is a small business that takes personal pride in getting the job done right. Exceptional service and repair.
Thank you, John! Super grateful for your help with my tripod/gopro adapter; the part fit perfectly!
John is amazing! Knowledgeable and very helpful!
Got my camera diagnosed by them. They were quick about it, polite and fairly priced. Would go back for sure
I am new to this area and found Tucson Camera Repair to be very good. Friendly honest and good work. That is hard to find nowadays.
The guy who runs this place is a really nice guy he help me out and because my problem was in a very big 1 he fixed it for free. the guy at Monument camera wanted to charge me 50 dollars for what this guy did for free. he is very knowledgeable on cameras and camera equipment I would recommend shopping there or just stopping in to say hello. they have a great selection of Nikon cameras there as well. if you are a serious photo Grapher or a novice you will get great service here. I went to monument camera 2 times and was given very poor service. these guys know their s*** and I cant say enough good things about this place. and just so you know I am a skateboarder an overall consumer I have no affiliation with this business. but I do feel compelled to write a good review for this guy because the other business I went to really gave me bad service
John did a repair for me about 6 mos ago, and a few months later an associated part failed. It was out of warranty by that time but he went out of his way and swallowed the repair fee anyways, the camera works like new again. Ill take all of my nikons here, no question
These guys have everything!Today was different for me though.Ive been having a small artifact issue when I take photo and film in the higher iso settings. Sometimes low too!!!I called and asked if they could do a diag or a cleaning on it.The gentleman said yes of course, but recommended i did something at home first to save some money and time.I did exactly what he said to do and POOF! The issue is resolved!I appreciate his honesty and I really appreciated how he could have easily taken my money since I was in dire need, But nope. This guy was legit and saved me money and the stress of being without my Canon baby. Lol. By simply giving me a quick remedy for the problem I could do at home.Thx a mil guys! Customer for life!
Fantastic well knowledgeable people. will def return
Great service, great results. Not much more you can ask for.
Condescending and unhelpful. Had easy selling opportunity. Decided to criticize something that I didnt even buy with no solution. Oy.
Very nice and honest.
Very helpful and friendly assistance with some mechanical issues with my 1961 camera. Im certain that theyd do just as fine a job with their specialty, modern cameras.
Very great services and friendly and was done on time I do all my camera repair with them from now own
Great customer service. It was quick and easy to get my lens repaired.
Great service, and managed to get my lens fixed for cheaper than I expected.
Quick, friendly service, found exactly what i was looking for at an unbeatable price!
Took a camera in to have missing screws in the body replaced. The shop did it within minutes and didnt charge me anything. Thanks a bunch.
I had my zoom lens broke on my camera and he did an awesome job of cleaning it up and fixing it so i wouldnt have to buy a new camera. he was quick to clean it and was out of there in 5 mins or so. i would go there again in a heart beat if my camera broke again :)
Super friendy and Very knowledgeable staff
I just picked up my camera I had in for cleaning. I was quoted $125.00 for the cleaning by the girl who was there when I took it in no mention of more unless there was damage. When I picked it up, the cost had jumped 20% to $150.00 supposedly due to extreme dirt. It would have been nice to get a phone call informing me of the increase in cost. I most likely would have okayed the increase, but to ASSUME is not good. I might add my wife has a 10 + year old Nikon camera she wants to replace (we wanted to look at them then and there). Guess what, for lack of a 3 minute call to tell me of the additional charge of $25.00, they will not get my money for a new camera, probably $500.00 or more. Very poor customer service.
Owner was kind and knowledgeable. I will use again.
Easily some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. They have secured my loyalty, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone with camera/lens repair problems.
These guys are Lifesavers!! They fixed my camera in just a few minutes. I cant thank them enough
Went in to get my camera fixed. It took him less than a minute to fix it. I didnt spend more than 5 minutes there. Hes a camera guru.
Oldies favorite place to hangout and talk film photography!
Professional & knowledgable.
The staff is not knowledgeable. They did a bad job cleaning my camera. Very disappointing.
Excellent and very Pro...
Knowledgeable and fairly priced
I thought my camera was broken, he just added a little oil to some hidden sprocket, gave it back to me. no charge.amazing!thanks
Nikon dream store for me
Fast and friendly
Reliable place to repair photography equipment, good service in Spanish and good remote monitoring.
