Iβve lived in Nashville and Atlanta and the Buffalo exchanges there had way more variety and were curvy/plus size friendly. This one selection was honestly really disappointing lots of the same types of styles and only fits a certain type of body. Honestly savers in comparison is way better for thrift clothes and half the price for higher quality items and options.
Ive been to many buffalo exchanges and this one is by far the worst in customer service and general experience. The last several times Ive come I received no greeting or welcome feeling, Ive had items set aside near the fitting room that just disappeared and they have generally made me feel as though they are too good to be nice to anyone but the other people that work there. It feels very much so like high-school and as though they are doing me a favor by letting me shop there. I will avoid going there in the future which is a shame. The employment is putting a terrible name on what I considered a previously excellent business.
Has good variety of clothes, jewelry, and shoes. However, the prices for a majority of the items are the same as the retail price. Not what you would expect for wnd hand clothes. Staff is friendly and they sort their items well though
This place is clearly better and reasonable at offering a price for your r second hand clothing or new clothing they also have alot of name brand products by different brands thats pretty cheap save when you shop with Buffalo exchange theyre the truth.
Not Happy!!! They are very picky on what they want. I brought in perfectly good clothes and they wanted nothing. A big waste of time.
This location is the BEST!! Ive visited many Buffalo Exchange, theyre all fun and different...but this one is the best :) Loads of true vintage!
Went in with 2 bags loaded with clothes. Waste of gas. Out of 30+ items, they only took 1 blouse. Why? Because the rest didnt fit in with the yuppy style they were selling. Forget the fact that most of my clothes were Professional and perfect for the college kids looking for a professional job.
Always a great experience just be are that you have yo launder and seal your good no less than 2 days prior to trying to trade. This is a good thing though we should be glad that they are being responsible and watching out g or everyones safety. Also you now need an apt.
Great selection of clothes and clean fitting rooms
I donated several high quality brand new winter (which is the season now) items here such as a J. Crew coat and a North Face hat and they gave me No money back. Its the right season, they were in perfect condition, and there were many items so not giving me anything, not even like $5, is ridiculous!
My sister took 50 items of clothing, some of the clothes are mine. They bought 1 dress for $3.00. Very unsatisfied my sister walked out with out the clothes not remembering that some were mine. I called the store spoke to the Manager she supposedly pulled out all the items. I only received 26 items out of 49!! I dont recommend selling to this place they are cheapskates. They say they donate
Got 40-50 clothes to sell here and they did not buy even one. Too picky. I donβt think they even know what they are looking for. Waste of time. Please donβt go here
Courteous staff and cute outfits for reasonable prices. Up-to-date fashionable clothes with a fair return policy!
Always a good experience, awesome staff, clean environment. Ill definitely be a repeat costumer.
Donβt sell your clothes here itβs honestly not worth it. even if they are brand new clothes there is such little return value, i definitely recommend platos
Wasted two days making sure my clothes were in perfect condition not wrinkled. Had a ton of name brand items bcbg, guess, bebe in excellent condition and out of my 50 items I was offered 3.63 cents for one dress ONE. Save your time and donate to good will or sell on your own through an app.
I always seem to find something really cool. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. But my favorite thing is when they have their $1 sale. The proceeds always go towards an amazing organization.
Cute dresses for my wife, but too pricey for being 2nd hand.
This place is by far the worst with accepting clothes. I brought the same bag a few times and they gradually accepted items they previously denied. They recently lowered the cash out to 25% of your items and 50% store credit. This place robs you while everyone that works here is rude and condescending.
More concerned about keeping dogs out of the store than me spending money there. Kinda weird.
They have lots of nice clothes at good prices. Fast friendly service.
Overpriced for resale, not even vintage clothing and pretentious staff.
As a guy this is the place to go! Everything you need for casual clothes, and at great low prices!
Today I went into the store for the first time ever in search of some bell bottom jeans and left with my arms full of amazing clothes and the perfect bell bottoms! The girls were so amazing and helped me find what I needed! 10/10 loved everything about it and they allow you to donate to a charity after with coins that you get with your purchase! Great place!
Always nice stuff at a great price! One of my favorite places to shop.
They have a good selection of mostly name brand clothing. However, I think their prices are too high for second hand items. Also, everytime Ive tried to sell to them, they took, maybe, one Γtem and offered a dollar for my name brand Γtem. I know they have to make a profit, but it didnt add up to me.
Not as friendly as they use to be to sellers or buyers. Looks like they completely changed staff, again. They make it really difficult. Also, get a lot less for selling items than I use to. Wish there were some options locally for resale. .
Got $22 in credit for my old stuff and picked up a beautiful pair of earrings! Love this place! Thank you!
Customer service was horrible! Totally rude
While I found plenty of nice things, I believe they are grossly overpriced. And then if you try to sell something to them, they pay pennies...
The staff is always super friendly and helpful! This is my favorite place to stop by when in Tucson. I love how thereβs a huge selection of clothing with so many different styles. Buffalo Exchange is the type of place where you go in not knowing what youβre looking for but will come out with several things youll love.
They are super friendly and I got a great trade value.....of course I spent it immediately in the store!
Huge store! The staff was very friendly, and the store was very organized and clean. β£
Grungy...Platos Closet has a cleaner feel.
Fantastic staff
The selection of clothing itself was great given the location of the store. College students are bound to have eclectic stores of fashion. However, the students who were working here were so obviously stalking me the whole time. Plenty tried to be nice about it but they were oblivious that I was getting asked the same question by the minute. I saw the security personnel staring at me from across the room multiple times. I was asked by every single person working the floor if they could hold onto my 2 items multiple times each. It was like being hounded by a pack of retrievers constantly. I think they should have spent less time on asset protection and done more organizing of the racks. They were overcrowded and I encountered many tangles I sorted out myself. One worker in particular was awful; her name was Alyssa. Rude with a βtude. She was snarky to me when I tried to trade in new clothes with the tags attached, and then she rolled her eyes at me when I told her I didnβt need help. If sheβs the manager, get a new one.
Donβt take your clothes here until you have the opportunity to get them back if they reject them (which most of them, if not all, they will). Took a box of BDG, NIKE, VS etc. current styles. They took 1 VS sweatshirt. Iβd bought a leather jacket from them that I also took, as they closed for COVID during the return period. Didnβt take it, and no opportunity to get it back to take elsewhere. They have cute stuff, but pay/credit sellers nothing and charge high prices. I used to love shopping with them... been a customer since the small Euclid location.
It was my very first time going to a buffalo exchange and had a few items to give away. The person that helped me explain how the items are donated and given a certain percentage of cash or credit. The person said that they were only going to take the one t-shirt that I had because they only take stuff that people would wear today and that are fashionable... I thought that was kinda rude considering I owned clothes that people wear everyday and when I looked around the store to try and find something for myself, I couldnt find anything fashionable for anyone around 25y or younger..
Always a fun place to shop, Ive been a customer for 10 years and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Theres a wide range of inventory and Ive found some amazing buys over the years. They really know what theyre doing!
I wanted to support the reopening but WOW, it is not safe AT ALL!!!! Do NOT shop here people! Things were dusty and dirty, I saw employees taking off their masks and itβs not like we know they arenβt sick! Theyβre probably coming to work sick because theyβre afraid to not work! Things were not sanitized and social distancing within the employees seems to be no existent. I didnβt buy anything or even want to look around further.
Rude staff, and tried to sell plenty of barely used name brand items and only made $17. And PayPal said they retracted their payment to me so I made nothing. Will be fighting to get what little money I was given for what I gave.
This place is AMAZING!!! The staff are always very welcoming and helpful and definitely care about their customers. The prices are fair given that their inventory is in very good condition. Found some Good American pants, which retail at $100-$180, for less than $30!! Very hip, original and up to date with current fashion trends. I love it here and would recommend to anyone looking for high end brands at an affordable price and also for nice, trendy and unique clothing!
Good place to find like new condition clothes for a good price--but a bit high for a thrift shop. Theyve never accepted any of my clothes, even valuable nice stuff. And yet theyve got some bizarre stuff they bought. Its all about condition to them.
3 bags of clothes that got worn maybe once, all from the past 3 years were too worn for them... okay sure. Might as well just donate your stuff to Casa De Los Ninos. Or a homeless shelter. Havent found anything cute in there since I was 13.
I brought all my clothing in freshly dry cleaned off of hangers as they requested and Upon returning to reclaim the items that Buffalo Exchange did not want, I was met with a hostile clerk( a tubby girl with braided hair) who, for no particular reason she was rude and aggressive and I dont appreciate being treated that way.She was arbitrarily rude and dismissive upon my arrival there; and when I returned to pick up my clothes she was equally rude.
Ive been a customer of this store for years. In the last 8 years that Ive lived in Tucson, I have witnessed the franchise downscale from 4 stores to 1, and Ive wondered why. Today, I got my answer. I walked in their only store left today, with designer accessories (Coach and Michael Kors). Wonderful, gently used condition, and I was turned away because of either minor wear on a strap, or older styles. I was told that they were looking for items that resembled items theyve seen on runways. When I looked in the store, many of their items looked much older than mine, with much more wear. I found this very distressing, and realized that I just dont believe that theyre buying much anymore, unless its less than a year old, highly valuable, and will only pay a small price. I still believe in their mission, but I will never sell my items there again. I leave this review as a warning to anyone looking to sell their items. Best to take your older styles, and donate to a worthy and respectfully appreciative charity, who will love your items. Youll even get a tax write off.
Hands down dont go here. Especially during a pandemic - not sanitary at all. Do not recommend, bad service as well.
I guess this place is a little too hip for me. It is not a typical thrift shop, it is higher priced and picky about what they buy. They didnt want any of my clothes because they werent trendy enough, when I brought in high-quality dress clothes. If you are the trendy target audience of this store, I know you can find better deals and more eclectic clothes elsewhere. This store gives me a weird vibe, kinda like packaged and commercialized bohemian culture.
I love resale and I shopped at the very first Buffalo Exchange in Tucson when the company was in its infancy. So, we have history. And, like most things that have become uber popular, Buffalo has lost that local shop feel. But, their selection is still super hip and fashionable. And, their prices are reasonable compared to retail. Especially when you find a high priced designer stitch for $20.
No public restroom! I had to go :(
I used to buy and sell here quite often, but I feel like the competence of the buyers there has dramatically slipped in recent years. I recently brought in new Frye shoes and boots, Sofft shoes, Dooney and Bourke purses and Smith Optical sunglasses among many other clothing items from Nordstrom and Torrid that still had tags on and they passed on most of my items offering shockingly little for what they did want. I know from experience they can be picky, but when I surveyed the store to see if I wanted to shop with store credit, I found many items For sale with loose threads, missing hooks or buttons, and the shoe section was awful with most of the items looking completely worn out! Itβs sad, but this place is just not what it used to be. I think their buyers are too green or not being trained properly. I wonβt be returning.
First time at the store...I go to a lot of thrift stores...and this is by far the nicest...didnt feel like a used clothing store. Very clean and clothes were displayed beautifully. Prices r higher than I have been used to paying, however, the clothes were clean and in perfect condition. I went to three different thrift stores before hitting this one...I cldnt find what I needed in my size. Buffalo Exchange had a great selection! This will be my first stop from now on.
Found a wonderful pair of capris and shoes. Got them for a fair price. I feel being close to the U of A campus really helps this location. A pleasurable shopping experience.
Dont sell your stuff here. Use Poshmark instead. I gave them 50 clothes and I got $0
Wish I could give no stars but I just want to alert other people if youre thinking of shopping here DONT. Not safe. Stuff is dirty. Employees look miserable, and things are not clean.
Full disclosure: wife works here. she likes it. they seem nice and friendly and they genuinely care about the employees and the business. Im shocked at the level of tansperancy that all employees have. Happy to support them.
DO NOT SELL HERE, tried to sell and the buyer took 5 items with an MSRP of over $500, and gave me $41.25 in cash. Passed up on items that were worn twice because they were too worn, but she loved a shirt that I bought at goodwill a week earlier. No rhyme or reason to pricing. Will not ever sell here again, and will not buy there either.
Always great brands for crazy good deals!
Went in hoping to find one or 2 ok scarves for my hair... I left spending $60! Be careful cause you will be in there for hours rummaging and finding things you HAVE to have that you never knew you needed. One to 2 scarves turned into like 10 scarves, a purse and some shirts.
Treated me like a criminal the entire process. Came and found me while in the dressing room (after asking my partner where I was) requiring me to get my clothes for sale, required I take them to my car immediately. When I was trying to purchase items, constantly checking my ID and cards. Im currently working on my dissertation indirectly on discrimination, so I know what it looks like. I was treated differently and negatively based on how I looked, even while pleasant the entire time. Steer clear. You might wonder well, what did you look like for them to be suspicious?. I was wearing workout clothes, with messed up hair, you know, because I was working out prior.
Im here entirely too often. Itd be almost shameful if I didnt feel as though I were making off with a handful of treasure when exiting toward the parking lot.Ive shopped at BEs all over the country and this is definitely my favorite store. The staff is sweet and knowledgeable and helpful to the full extent of good customer service. In response to common themes in other reviews, I think its silly to expect people to be dripping sweetness while they help you shop. Youre there to find fun things to wear, not to have handmaidens at your beck and call. The selection is hit or miss, as is with most thrift stores, but the finds are golden and worth spending upwards of an hour here. The prices for higher end items are usually sold at significantly lower numbers than their retail value and the brands I love to wear are consistently in rotation. If you plan to shop there, expect to be pleasantly surprised by how many things you never knew you needed.
Found some cool stuff, very nice. Token thing that goes to charity was cool
Ive shopped here a few times, a lot of the clothes is already warn out, and out of fashion, I brought in a big Bag of clothes with up to date fashion some summer dresses, heels and they didnt take none of it, and it was a huge bag, idk what they consider up to date when half the shoe selection is all old, clothes is too, just saw a few items I do like, only one good cashier with great customer service and everyone else is rude. I can get better quality clothes new for the price they ask. Ill never waste money there again
A little pricey but lots of cute clothes!
My dad was shopping at Buffalo Exchange today. When he was leaving the cashier said to my dad Have a nice day the rest of your life in a rude tone. My father has been a patron of Buffalo Exchange since the late 1970s and was very insulted by her comment. This is not the right way to treat a loyal customer of many years. He felt that he was discriminated against due to his age.
I was there for a fundraiser (Thank You, Buffalo Exchange, for supporting our community!)Plenty of parking, easily seen, nice variety.Seemed like a great place to shop! Ill be going back soon.
This buffalo has a massive inventory of amazing stuff. And they have especially good deals on silver and turquoise jewelry!
If you need to sell some clothes, this is the best place in town to do it. Staff is awesome
Great place to find cool stuff for everyday wear, orcostume events.
I hope youβre one of the stores that go out of business because you mandate free public citizens to wear a mask !
I have found some hidden gems at Buffalo Exchange. This particular location (speedway) is right across from the U of A so I almost always get lucky and find something of great quality - both brand and wear. The shoe section is my favorite, havent purchased clothes there in a while. It is second hand so of course its hit or miss but there are some good things if you really look. My best find so far was a pair of Stuart Weitzman leather booties I purchased for $35, really good condition -- WIN.In terms of selling back your own clothes, I stopped bringing them my clothes as they are extremely picky. I felt the clothes I was bringing were not far off from lots of the clothes Ive seen there but hey, thats just one womans opinion.I will still go there every now and then to check out the shoes. Theres always a good amount of people in there. Prices seem fair plus its Tucson local so even if they wont take my clothes, still feels good to support them.
I was very disappointed with this place. The lady that was helping me was being very rude. She told me that all of my clothes were ugly and that they are old. 75% of my clothes have never been worn or still had the tags on them. She didnt even look at all of my clothes she just took them out and then put them right back into the bag.
Fantastic customer service! Came in from New York State 10 weeks ago, Ive had a blast at this place. Go have fun!
The girl that looked at my clothes was really nice thats about all i can say. Worst experience ive ever had. Took one piece. I had tons of nice like new pieces or still had tags on it. The most disappointing experience Ive ever experienced. I guess i should have listened to all the other reviewers said. Complete waste of time.
A goods spot for trading those older clothes in for some new ones! I only ever go here when I have items to trade, because their prices can be a little high sometimes. But they always have cute clothes, and I would recommend them over Platos Closet.
The WHOLE TEAM was AMAZING, like always...welcoming, kind, sweet, thoughtful, complimentary, and helpful!ππ (greeting, buy-counter, management, the sales floor, cashier...see, everyone!π) I LOVE Buffalo Exchange, forever I hope!π The store is beautiful...GORGEOUS new display, right as I walked in...you rock, BE on Speedway.ππ Keep it up.π Amyβ€
Buy, Sell and Trade clothing store, never know what trendy ware you may find.
Awesome staff!
Honestly, I love Buffalo Exchange, but parking their food trucks and Buffalo bus across the handicapped parking is not cool. They are always rearranging their racks on the floor and sometimes it is hard to shop in a wheelchair.I interacted with Nathan recently (newer crew member) who is incredibly rude and pompous. I was asking about the new store Trade Post and he said that it wasnt handicapped friendly and all their stuff is for the elderly. He thought that was funny. Incorrigible.
When i was waiting to sell clothes i saw someone get 20 dollars for plain and dull basic clothes/ t shirts. I had a whole bag of clothes, 5 or more pairs of earrings and 3 pairs of shoes. the lady barely looked at what i had while the other workers carefully decided whether they should buy something. she didnt even look at everything i had i also had brought specific things that were similiar to what they bought last time hoping i would at least get something. the bag of earrings she took out one pair and looked at it and put the rest back she didnt even look at everything else she just put it back. she also only looked at one pair of shoes and didnt look at the others at all. then she bought nothing from me. and i brought a lott of stuff. I had a nice pair of vans shoes barely worn and a unique pair of maroon pants and a lot of other decent clothes and i never understand why they dont buy those things. i look around in there store and it seems like they have bad taste. they never seem to take nice brands either. i once took a forever 21 dress practically brand new and a nice sublime shirt and they didnt even take that. this place confuses me and the lady that was looking through my clothes seemed stuck up. also the earrings i were trying to sell were super nice and i saw pictures of the earrings they actually sell on the instagram page and it blows my mind they think those are nice.
Helpful and informative employees, great selection, exactly what I expected; in a good way.
Great place to buy clothes.. i found some great deals here and Im a plus sized guy
The clothing is clean if your buying, but if you are selling, good luck! They are super picky what they accept and it has to be the latest fashion.
Some pieces are pricey, but the staff was nice, it was clean, good music, and I loved everything in there!
Very cool finds. Vintage section was fun and some good finds
Best place to find the highest quality used clothing at good prices. Some people claim their prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for here! Still a lot cheaper than buying new. I miss their Eastside location.
This place wasnt bad honestly, but could just be so much better. The staff was totally great and they have really good fashion here, but as far as the trading and selling, I was disappointed. I brought in a bunch of great clothes and they didnt buy them because they werent absolutely spotless. Some of them were worn maybe once but its like I had to get it dry-cleaned before they would sell it.I also was in a rush for a flight (which I mentioned) and the girl who was checking my clothes out constantly (I guess the manager) had other employees asking her how much to buy things for. It was essentially one girl appraising all 3 lines and it was getting frustrating for all 3 lines.Ill definitely be back to give them another shot, as well as do some shopping, but wasnt thrilled this time.
The 2nd and last time I come here. All top name brand clothing, not good enough for them and I checked their racks. WAY OVERPRICED
Took some of my items today. That does not always happen. Staff was friendly, fair with pricing and prompt, that usually does happen. This is a Tucson Treasure. Thanks Buffalo now I can go XMAS shopping.π
Very cool spot to buy and sell clothes. Staff is always helpful.
Very disappointed. They did not take any of my items to sell, which they gave no reason why, and the crap they had in the store was over priced garbage. One coat I looked at was covered in cat hair and selling for more than it probably originally cost. My clothes may not be as trendy, but at least they are new looking and clean. Never coming back to buy or sell and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone else. Just go to a regular thrift store, same quality but better prices.
I took in 6 or 7 shirts that were only a couple months old, a few never worn yet from American Eagle plus 3 pairs of AE shorts New tag still on. They accepted none. Bc they werent current styles. Really?! Yet they had Levis 501 jeans that looked like they were from 2002 for sale.
Iβve browsed around and everything is very overpriced for used items. I even went in to sell some clothes practically new however they are VERY particular in what they βbuyβ. Donβt waste your time
They give you an excellent price on your used clothes and carry very nice clothes at a reasonable price.
Fantastic as always. Theres always a variety of unique things to choose from.
Usually a hit or a miss. Either youre able to find lots of goodies, or nothing at all. When selling clothes they are very selective, which is at times frustrating. Overall good.
4 stars because Im not sure how this place can get any better!!! Tucson, AZ, all the way to Tacoma, Philadelphia, Atlanta, L.A. Im sure there is a Buffalo near you.
