Loved the place. They were out of a few options when I went. Staff is courteous and available. Loved their chocolate dipped waffle cone with pistachio and lavender butter. The scoops are big and worth a visit.

Desert dream ice cream Shoppe is one of Tucson best hidden gems for ice cream treats. The ice cream is home made, as are most of the other treats. Amazing service, great price for what you get. And very nice environment.

This place replaced Isabellas, and its a great addition to 4th Ave. Great ice cream flavors, although it was a bummer they were out of cookie mix for their pizookies, though Im sure that would have been delicious.Get the largest size for six bucks and you walk out with a better value than Ben & Jerrys and delicious ice cream you can mix and match as you desire!

I do have to say that the ice cream is nothing otherworldly. There are a few interesting flavors, but for the most part, it is pretty standard ice cream. What this place does well is exceptional service and pricing. For instance, I received a discount for bringing my own cup. In addition, I also had a 50% off coupon, so I got two smalls (which wound up being 2 relatively large scoops!) for $3. While theres nothing fancy or extravagant about this place, it does standard ice cream well, without breaking any budgets, all while providing a pleasant environment

Best home made churned ice cream around! Flavors to please any taste. The taste is wonderful. No real wait. The staff is helpful and very friendly. Husband and wife owned. They are open from noon to 10 p.m. daily I think.It was clean and well stocked. You can sit at a little table or grab it and run. (think Ill do both one day 😁)Good parking right out front.

My friend and I had the opportunity to stop by this creamery last night. After a record-breaking heat in Tucson (116), this was a nice treat! I had the Coyote Tracks (with bits of chocolate and peanut butter) delicious!! And, my friend had the Raspberry - equally good! LOTS of choices of ice cream - great, convenient location to University of Arizona.

I cant say enough good things about Desert Dreams ice cream and service. The store opened earlier this year in the same retail space occupied by a previous purveyor of ice cream. Desert Dream sells a satisfyingly wide variety of premium homemade ice cream that is the best Ive had in Tucson. The owners are especially nice people who place a premium on delivering a high quality product with an emphasis on customer service. The scoops are big and generous and served on plain cones, sugar, cones, waffle cones, or in a bowl. They also offer hand-packed ice cream in various sizes and theyll even pack cones separately and with great care so they dont crack. In the heat of the summer they put the hand-packed orders in nice re-useable cooler bags at no extra cost. I understand from talking with them that the owners have been making and selling ice cream for many years -- until recently in the summers on the coast of Maine. If you like ice cream this is a must visit ice cream store.

This is the best ice cream I think I have ever had. The flavors are so rich without being overwhelmingly sweet or heavy on the stomach and the serving sizes are very generous. The shop seems to be owned and run by a nice elderly couple and they are so sweet, they also make all their own ice cream and that is super rare these days. I will definitely start adding this to date nights with the wife.

The couple who run the shop are so friendly and helpful. They make the ice cream from scratch, but they have several abnormal flavors. Ive had licorice, ginger, and chocolate orange flavored ice cream here, all of which I highly recommend. The ice cream seems to form abnormally large peaks when you lick it, but the mouth feel is excellent and theyre all super creamy.

Dont go here if you are indecisive. There are many good flavors including some that are quite unique (ginger!). The folks were very nice and more than willing to accomodate my indecisiveness with many samples.

This review must be prefaced by saying that the older gentleman who served the ice cream, and the ice cream itself - was great. However, my experience with the lady taking the order was one of the most awkward and frustrating customer service encounters Ive had in Tucson. She seemed to be very judgmental in her response to basic questions (such as, how big are the scoops?), and nearly got in an argument with us over the size of the kid size cones. As much as I wanted to enjoy this place, and despite the fact that the ice cream itself was good, I will not be returning simply due to the way we were treated from the moment we walked in.
