They have it all for decorative landscape rocks which I bought and supposedly also flagstone, boulders and soil.For the rock I bought, you just pick it out in the office, pay at the counter and then pull around to the back and they drop a ton or two into your truck. Couldn’t be easier!VictorB

Im a landscaper whos been keeping Vail beautiful since 2010. I recommended this company to one of my clients. We went there today and he bought 9 tons of gravel for his yard. My client asked the lady behind the counter if they could dump it in his backyard from the alley. She said that unvaccinated people are making covid spread as she looked into my eyes. But she is vaccinated and still got covid. She said we dont deliver in alleys rudely. Then she gave my client a flying for a guy who has a machine that does all the work. Thanks a lot lady🤬you screwed me out of the job. I will never recommend this company again

Very happy with the initial customer service and the driver but it went downhill. Took my measurements in for a hole I had to fill (very odd shape). Sales guy did his math and said 1 ton of fill dirt would be more than enough. He seemed not 100% (younger kid) sure so he took me out to a tractor and told me 1 ton is about 3/4 of the bucket. I was thinking more like 2 tons but was afraid to be stuck with a whole ton of dirt at my house. Asked the guy again if 1 ton would be close to what I need or more than enough (first time ordering dirt and figured they are the experts). He told me more than enough. Should have listened to my instincts. Ordered two other orders of rock and the delivery fee changed from $70 to $40 a load for the 2nd and 3rd (loads scheduled for different days). Got the dirt and realized it only filled in 1/2 of the hole. Called and was told I would have to pay the $70 delivery fee again. Figured at worst they would charge $40 for delivery and was willing to accept that. Was told no and it would be $70 for delivery again because it is a new order. Just going to pick up the 1 ton I need and be done with this place. Reading these reviews, I’m not expecting much but “too bad” from the owner.

I’d say their prices are about average for the area and they have a decent selection of materials. The staff inside the office was rude and nobody was wearing masks when they had a sign up and were requiring customers to wear masks. There’s still a county ordinance. I’ll take my business into Tucson in the future.

Ived used D & D a couple times, usually good service/products. Most recent time I called and made an order over the phone and was told one delivery day, but scheduled for another. I also drove over to check I was matching the older rock to the new correctly and the salesman confirmed. On delivery day rock doesnt match. Ill be able to make do but Im less than thrilled this round. Overall would recommend.

Lots of rocks to choose from. You can see labeled samples outside the office. If you want to buy rocks by volume, you can purchase in 5 gallon units, which is great when you dont need much. Bring your own shovel and buckets. I dont know whether D&H sells buckets too.

Great little local owned place. Bought rock for our back yard, salesman working on the weekend that helped us out was super friendly and answered all of our questions. When it came time for delivery, the driver was fantastic. Extremely friendly, made sure it was dropped just where we wanted and very cautiously so it didnt spill into other areas. Just an overall great experience.

Horrible customer service. I have some holes/gaps in my driveway from rain and such that need to be filled with some gravel (the driveway is gravel). I started my inquiry by stating I have never purchased gravel before so I will need some help. The woman I spoke with was extremely rude and condescending, offering no help at all. I explained I wanted to buy their product and that I would think during this time of economic crisis that this business would want to assist customers, not essentially turn them away. I was informed that Pioneer sells rock so call them. Trust me, I will.

A D&D gravel truck from the Rita Ranch Yard on Oracle did not have a secured load, and I got hit by a small rock on the windshield which chipped it. Not Happy At All!!

I absolutely love these guys. They have been very helpful and prices are good. They go out of their way to get you taken care of fast. They are also open on Sundays so for us weekend warriors its great. There are a few other places to get materials in the area but I would always go to these guys. Highly recommened!

Disappointed that when we changed the amount we were ordering, that no one said that the delivery charge would be different than what we had originally been quoted. Just be cautious, because they tripled our delivery fee. Again, very disappointed that their business practices do not include stating that charges changed. I would have appreciated them honoring the amount they quoted. On the positive side, the delivery guy was just wonderful.

Just what I needed

Do you think you could positbly not drop a ton of rocks at 5am when people in the neighborhood are trying to sleep? It is the great time of year when we can sleep with our windows open and it’s awful in the morning when all you hear is beeping and rocks crashing to the ground. Your consideration Would be greatly appreciated. Please follow noise ordinance guidelines.

Good customer service and their prices are better than most. To top it off theyre open on Sundays which usually is a day youre out of luck if you need anything. Ive used them many times and will continue to do so.

Its a shame that a company as big as D & D is ok with ripping off a local family business. Decals were made for them. They approved the work prior to completion. Lenience was given for payment because it was based on future work for all of their trucks. When payment was recently requested since no further orders had been placed, they called the word junk and said they wanted to return it. They were told it is not returnable because it was made specifically for their business. They were given an amount owed and they have not responded and we have not received payment.

Was happy with choices.. delivery fees a bit steep to come to S.V. but otherwise satisfied.
