A beautiful shop with Native arts, mostly southwestern (Navajo, Hopi, various Pueblos). Proprietor was very gracious and shared info sources on the collections.
The staff at the store needs to learn to better appreciate indigenous cultures before they sell indigenous art. The staff (non-indigenous) didnt understand the cultural significance of some of the Hopi art. I left the store feeling that the staff had a very ignorant, unconcious, and disrespectful attitude towards Hopi culture. Take your business to the actual indigenous communities who understand what the art really means.
Tom Bahti has been around Tucson for a very long time and I guess been going through generational changes along the way. Beautiful Indian art shop hidden away in this shopping mall off River Road. My wife insists on coming here whenever we are in Tucson. Go there if you can. The quality will amaze you.
