I have had the pleasure to ask questions of Medicine Man Gallery in Tuscon, Arizona about the care of my sterling silver Navajo jewelry. They are extremely knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions I have had. Their Gallery is extremely impressive and growing up at Sanders Arizona, I am extremely fond of Native American art. So having a good resource to go to for help is great. If in Tucson again, I will be sure to go by to visit in person.
As an Appraiser of personal property, I reached out to this gallery for some help in identifying a pot that was rare. Mark got right back to me confirming how unusual it was and gave me an estimate retail price. Most dealers will not help or give any information. I thought this was quite admirable and will sell to them in the future! Thank you! Sharing and learning is what makes this business so wonderful and it is greatly appreciated. His love for his items is truly evident.
Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful! He kindly helped me identify a Mexican blanket I had. I greatly appreciate his expertise and generosity!
Dr. Mark Sublette was a recent contact I made in search of knowledge on my deceased Grandmothers Pima circa 1910 American Indian basket .He was not only swift to reply, but informative and to the point .This analysis was all done by his grace .I wish him well and cannot thank him enough .God bless you, Mark . And THANK YOU !

Mark was very helpful and Quick to answer my email. We plan to stop in his gallery as we make our way west.
It was purely by accident I came across the Medicine Man Gallery while researching a dirty old saddle blanket I found in storage that had belonged to my father-in-law. It looked Navajo to me, but I couldnt really be sure, even after searching the internet and local library on the subject. I reached out to Dr. Mark Sublette via email, not really expecting a reply. But to my amazement, I heard back right away with good news -- my find was not a saddle blanket (although had been used as one), but rather a 1930s Navajo Ganado rug. Mark not only identified the item, but gave me information on having it cleaned, and an approximate value. This is a man who loves his subject and work, he is happy and willing to share his expertise. I hope to get to Tucson soon to see in person his impressive gallery of Native American and Western art and artifacts.
Mark was swift, professional, and very courteous while providing an appraisal for me. Thank you!
Knowledgeable friendly and inviting staff. The exhibits and art are simply beautiful. Everything has a story. They update the art frequently and also host shows. There are many representations from different indigenous tribes presented. I appreciated the depictions and artifacts.
I had a very abstract question about a possible Maynard Dixon sketch that clearly would not profit the Gallery. Mark took the time and effort to answer my question and even brought added knowledge to the topic....in a timely manner yet!

Our family have had two Navajo weavings for fifty years, but weve never been able to get details about the meanings of the designs. Jaime generously wrote back giving a detailed description of the woven designs. These are invaluable weavings to our family and Jaimies thoughtfulness to take the time to do this was a wonderful gift. We can now pass down his information to future generations. Thank you.

I work for an art auction house in Florida and contacted Mark Sublette because we recently received a large consignment of southwestern American Indian pottery, and I know him to be an authority on the subject. Among the items in the collection was a beautiful basket that I was unable to identify, so I sent him a photo requesting his opinion. He wrote back right away with the identifying information I needed, thanks so much Dr. Sublette! 👍

Last, but not least, all of their dealings reinforce their commitment to conducting business with the utmost of integrity.
Mark Sublette and his team have made this Gallery a destination! I live in San Diego, but always make time to stop here when visiting family in Tucson. Can’t believe there’s not a ticket booth at the front door to charge admission. It’s half gallery, half museum of fine Southwest pieces of art, ...and half history class if you spend time talking with Dr. S. He is a wealth of information, and he graciously shares his knowledge and passion via his podcast videos.
Very prompt reply with great information about my photos. Thanks for the help.
