Loved it! I had a latte and the avocado toast. I typically put sugar in my coffee, but this one didnt even need it. It was so smooth and creamy. The toast was also amazing! The touch of honey is divine! The young lady who attended us was so sweet. We kept asking her questions about latte art and the espresso and she was so helpful. Loved this place! Will definitely be back!

Very bad experience. When we walked in, we were told that they were no longer taking food orders. After we ordered, the person right behind us ordered food and the cashier accepted the order. We waited 25 minutes for muffins we ordered, and the people that ordered behind us got all of their things before us. Never going back!!

Took 30 minutes for them to give me 2 muffins. Was also told we could not order food, and then everyone behind us proceeded to order food and get it before my muffins.

This is an excellent coffee shop to grab a bite and eat something light. Their veggie burger is delicious (and you wouldnt even realize its not meat if you werent told), although at $10 its certainly overpriced. They used to serve it with some veggies, but theyve recently swapped those with chips, cheapening the meal. This wouldve been great at $8, but for $10, you really need to include something more. If they swapped the chips for actual decent fries, thisd be fine.Either way, its a wonderful establishment, people are super nice, its bright and well lit, nicely designed, and they have delicious teas - like the hibiscus one I photographed - from local Tea-Town Alabama. Their coffee is quite decent too, definitely better than Starbucks. Ive been here for a quick bite, a drink and a laptop work session and Ive never been disappointed.

Coffee was great, but I ordered avocado toast and had to pick off the avocado because it was hard and inedible.

Though the hours are shortened right now because of COVID, the service remains excellent. They are practicing appropriate social distancing guidelines & deep cleaning. The food is delicious and they serve breakfast into the afternoon. Their coffee creations are also fantastic- not too sweet and not too bitter. Love this place!

This gem is worth a visit. The pour-overs, in particular, are amazing and a bit of free performance art to boot. UPerk is now my favorite coffee joint.

Latte was really good! The beans are medium roasted, and the milk is steamed to the right temp! I will definitely visit this place again

Got mad at my wife for picking up this place for us to have brunch here after being on the road for 10 hours (it’s a coffee place).I was wrong! the food choices are not many, but BOY... Ate here the other day for lunch. The food was fantastic!!I had curry goat for the first time. The meat was so tender, it just fell apart. The curry was flavorful but not overpowering. The side dish was boiled cabbage. Tasty once I added a dash of salt.

Avocado toast is amazing

The last two times I was in Tuscaloosa I grabbed a cup of coffee from U Perk on the way home. The first time I just got a quick pour of the batch brew. I think this is really the test of a good coffee shop and they passed with flying colors. So, if all you need is a quick cup of joe, this place will do you right for sure.

Ive been here a few times before, all of which I would consider five stars, but todays visit was only two. The employee taking my order seemed a bit flustered (he mentioned hes new, so thats okay) but the other employee working the counter/making the drinks was rude in tone and language to every customer she interacted with, including myself. Not to mention, my $6 breakfast order was much, much smaller than I anticipated. I will be returning, but only for drinks from now on and if the employees working today are not here when I return.

This is the epitome of the perfect little college town coffee shop. Its clean and neat, not at all overcrowded. The staff is friendly.But the thing that really stood out to me was the vegan burger. I am not a vegan. But my friend told me to try it and oh my gosh it was the best burger I have ever had in my life. Totally unique and totally delicious.

While it is overpriced, the staff are great. Me and some of my family ordered a couple drinks to share and asked them to put it in two cups. They filled both cups up and gave us much more than we ordered. Clean place too.

Amazing staff and coffee! What a find... we had fantastic sandwiches and the barista knew her coffee! Cortados were strong and hot and dark roast perfect... long way from New Zealand - almost as good as our coffee at home! Thank you!!!

Im a BIG fan. Go in often. Its got a great atmosphere. Mostly students but still a good mix of different ages, and it isnt too loud. It is run by First Presbyterian Church, but non-religious people wouldnt feel out-of-place there. Jamie, the manager, is a really nice guy and knows the business well. The whole staff is awesome, really. Most important, they make great coffee. The sandwiches Ive had have also been great. I love the nitro cold-brewed coffee. Its iced coffee on tap!

Have gotten the chance to taste some great coffee and awesome food during the soft opening. Cant wait for the rest of T-town to get the chance to see and enjoy this unique place. Cool staff, too!

If youre in Tuscaloosa you have to visit the coffee shop. I visited this cafe and I FELL IN LOVE. Jaye was amazing and the crew was very friendly. They made me like i was the only customer in the cafe. The coffee was delicious, the food was fresh and hot.

The vegan burger is hands down the best veggie burger I’ve ever had. Such a wonderful combo with watermelon pickles! Friendly staff and overall really good vibes.

The set up is nice but the service is horrible! I went there for the first time and ordered avocado toast. They gave me 4 pieces of toast but were extremely slow in bringing me all that I ordered. Second time (and last time I ever go) they only gave me 2 slices of toast? Also took over an hour to get my friend her drink, and she went up after 30/40 minutes and asked about it. She had to go up another time 15 minutes after asking the first time.
