One of the best decisions that we made during my pregnancy was taking our Bradley Method birth classes with Christy! She helped us feel educated, comfortable, and well-prepared for our delivery. She is so warm and caring and we couldnt recommend her more highly. She also made sure that we stayed connected to the other expectant moms and partners in our class so that is an added bonus - a great community of couples who are going through the same thing! We are so pleased that we took our classes with Christy and would encourage any future parents to do the same!
My husband and I couldnt be happier with our decision to go with Christy at BabyLove for both our Bradley Method Class and Doula services. She is literally one of the sweetest, most understanding individuals you will meet. Her only goal is to make this pregnancy and birthing experience as positive as possible - whatever that looks like for you. She will support your needs, decisions, and help educate. She was also an amazing source for referrals - from a Chiropractor to specializes in pregnancy to a pediatrician. We began our journey with Christy right as COVID hit. She was able to very successfully pivot both her Bradley Method class and Doula appointments to a virtual world without hesitation and without any loss of impact. I strongly encourage any mamma-to-be to reach out for a consult. With so much changing in our current environment, having someone who is informed to guide and be on your side makes all the difference. It will be the best money youve spent.
Christy from Babylove is an amazing doula!I contacted Christy when I was just 9 weeks pregnant. Originally, I was planning on having a hospital birth with an OBGYN. I was adamant about having an unmedicated birth without any interventions. After hearing horror stories from friends, I was fearful that I would be pressured into extra interventions or an unnecessary C-section. So my husband and I felt we needed extra support in the delivery room. So we hired Christy. As you can see, her reviews and recommendations are outstanding. But it was my phone call to her that really sealed the deal. Before even discussing her services, she asked me about myself, my pregnancy and my husband and my relationship. She wanted to get a good understanding of us as a couple first. She is also very holistically-minded--using essential oils, food, exercise, and mental health as the staple for ailments and to help support pregnancy. Christy is also very cheerful, calming, and empathetic--personality traits that I knew I would need when being supported through a very intense but wonderful moment in my life.Along with having her as our doula, we also took her birth classes. It was 10 weeks long at her beautiful home. Her classes consists of a few other couples. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know other couples in the same situation--wanting an unmedicated birth and becoming educated on the birthing process. Her classes were great! Each one had a theme and many interactive activities. She also educated us on all the different interventions, strategies to ease contraction pains, partner work and dialogue, and how to maintain a lifestyle that was optimal for a healthy pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My husband and I are very grateful for her classes. We couldve gone through our pregnancy and birth without any knowledge and just blindly do what our doctor would say. But we felt empowered knowing about all our options and being able to tell what felt right or not.We noticed we were unhappy with our OBGYN after some time. Because Christy educated us immensely about all our different options, we started to branch out. She recommended a few midwives that delivered babies at the hospital, at a birth center, and at home. After doing some research, we decided on an amazing home birth midwife, Sue Gill, based on her high accreditation.Through Christy, we got CPR training and even had our families join us. She did a wonderful job setting up activities for us to practice different life saving methods and scenarios. Christy also connected us to our current lactation consultant, Jennifer Horne (Nursling), who we took a breastfeeding course with and later being a big reason for our breastfeeding success. She is also a big resource for placenta encapsulation and postpartum care. And her husband is a newborn photographer! And the list continues. Christy is a wealth of resources and knowledge. I can pick her brain all day about anything! We had two prenatal visits with Christy towards the end of my pregnancy. Even though she got to know how to support us during her birth classes, these visits were more individualized and a good practice for the big day.Once in labor, Christy came to our house promptly. The time between my contractions were rapidly decreasing. Christy immediately took me by the hand and talked me through each contraction and resting period, allowing my husband to speedily finish setting up the tub for me to get in.Once I was in the pushing stage, she was continuing to reassure and comfort me while feeding me grapes and giving me water to sip on. At this point, she let my husband take the reigns and she took photos of our embrace and the birth of our daughter per my request. After my daughter was born, she stayed to help me as I was stitched and cleaned up.We are so happy that Christy was part of our pregnancy and the birth of our daughter. Without her, we wouldnt have had all the best resources, education, and support. We are grateful for her and highly recommend her as your doula and teacher!
