Went into the store this morning to purchase a scope and base. The store was not busy but I could not get an associate to offer assistance or even attempt to make eye contact. I then went and stood at the checkout behind one other customer hoping to get help that way. Nope. After standing there five minutes and seeing multiple associates pop in and out of the swinging doors yet not even offering assistance I left. It’s as though if they pretend not to see you, they want have to assist you. I had my rifle with me, (the bolt out), so you would think I might be looking for something in particular.Customer attention used to mean something. I will not be spending any more of my money at Superior.

They had a great selection and good prices, but the best part about our experience was how helpful they were. AWSOME customer service. Josh made sure that I had a gun I was comfortable with and would be most effective for what I needed it for. He answered all my questions, was incredibly knowledgeable and respectful. I had an issue with the address on my ID but he was able to help us get it resolved in less than 5 minutes! Wonderful experience all the way! Highly recommend these guys!

Edit: I took a star off from my original review because twice now it has taken them several days to process FFL transfers for me. I realize that they have a lot of guns going in and out; but pretty much every other place I have done transfers at has the gun available almost immediately, especially if I drive all the way up there to get it. Seems like it wouldn’t take them a few extra seconds to type it in. Pretty poor customer service if you ask me. I always ended up buying more of their stuff while I was waiting. Still like the store but I will use someone else for transfers from now on.I have bought several things from them; they always have a great selection and good prices, sometimes great prices depending on if a sale is going on. To the reviewer that gave them a 1 star review because they wouldn’t haggle with you on the price of a gun… they are a retail business not a gun show or pawn shop. If you missed the sale you missed the sale, too bad. Occasionally it takes a while to get help when they are busy but once you do get to talk to someone, they are usually very helpful. They especially have a good stock and selection on big scary black gun stuff. Also they are an SOT and have lots of suppressors in stock. Usually they have a modest selection plates/plate carriers and whatnot. Lots of good optics too.

Went in to buy s pistol and got a deferral on my paperwork. Went back in 2 days and told them I decided I didn’t want the gun. Guy was rude and told me no refunds on firearms period. When he found out the gun had never left the store he changed his tune. This place is only interested in your money. The employees seem to be uninterested in helping you. I was going to upgrade to a Wilson combat at 2699.00 but I have decided to take my talents elsewhere

I used to love this store spent about 13 grand a year here for the last couple years but lately they want to bs instead of helping customers so I started driving to another gun store 2 hrs away that wants to sell guns instead of visiting with each other

Bought my last two guns here and its a great place. Huge selection of rifles and handguns as well as equipment and holsters. They have nice precision rifles and a good selection of optics. Friendly and helpful staff every visit.

The workers here are extremely rude, I called them to ask a question or two about something, and the lady was extremely rude and short with me, constantly sighing and acting like she didnt have time for questions, after my second question she just hung up on me with no warning, I have tried several times with this store and the outcome is usually the same, I would recommend doing business elsewhere, but if you can put up with all of that, they do have a great selection

I am giving 2 stars but putting five stars cause one star reviews get hidden its an okay place claims to support vetrans, to serve vetrans, has a bunch of vetrans stuff in the store even a parking space for vetrans. Yet they dont have a veteran discount which I find strange or maybe they just want to appear that they support vetrans...

This place is a JOKE! My husband and I went in a couple weeks ago to sell a gun they offered us $500. We decided to think on it and went back and they went down on their original offer and refused to negotiate with me! SMH

Went in there to buy a $800 pistol waited for 30 minutes and no one helped me. Knew what I wanted and when one of the guys got free he went to shoot the bull with the security guard. He was a tall guy with a beard. Maybe will give u another chance but that was my first time in there and I was impressed with the service.

I was in store on Sunday. Several employees behind counter looking at there phones. I was standing at a counter waiting for several minutes and no one would help me. So I walked around in store snd went back over to the counter. Seen a couple of people being helped but they weren’t buyers. I’m not sure why they don’t have a Mgr making sure real buyers are helped.

DO NOT bring your guns here to be repaired!!! We dropped off our Colt revolver and Smith & Wesson revolver here for minor repairs in OCTOBER 2020, 9 months ago and nothing!! We called them repeatedly and were told they were waiting on parts. Today July 24, 2021 we went in person to get our guns back. Only to find out they never even ordered the parts. So our guns have been sitting there for NO REASON!!! We have bought guns from them in the past, but I will be damned if I step foot in there again. To be repeatedly told they were waiting on parts and we need to be patient, for nothing.

Bought a rifle with my Biden bucks. After taxes and ammo was roughly $900. The wait to have a staff member help me was about 30 minutes but they were very busy so thats understandable. The man helping me was very knowledgeable and helpful. Answered every question I had about the rifle and the other options. They made the background check process easy and quick. I routinely come back to ogle at the toys ill never be able to afford.

Went in to buy a rifle spent the day there waiting for background and everything the rifle was labeled as a 30-06 well when the background came through I walked out with the rifle and and later that evening I went to fire it well the gun was not a 30-06 turned out to be a 243 win, when I went up there with the rifle they told me the only thing they could do was spend extra money to get what I paid for or come back in a later time for a refund all in all make sure to read your gun before you leave because obviously they don’t read it before they mark it for sale

When you walk in to this store you will know that this is a very clean, professional and as knowledgeable staff you will encounter in a firearm store. I work out of town and try to make it a point to stop by and see what deals they have. They have very reasonable prices and a huge assortment of different firearms that there’s a slim chance that they will not have what you’re looking for. Great store highly recommend.

Visited superior in tyler about 2 weeks ago. They advertised no limit on shells on facebook. Got me some variety of what I needed but then Bobby I belive was the mangers name said cant get all that. So put them all back and went to Broadway power sports and got me a ar 15 and just ordered my ammo online and hot it cheaper. Will never shop there again. They might want to consider not doing false advertisements and being rude to customers. The owner is a nice person but wont do business there again.

I will start off by saying that superior is a great place to buy a weapon, a little pricey but they have nice guns. That being said don’t take your weapon here to get any work on it. I paid $20 to get a buffer tube and butt stock swapped out which is fine but they damaged my castle nut causing the metal to roll up to a sharp point and the paint is scratched up.

Great selection and superior service. The salespeople are very knowledgeable and helpful. No pressure, and they want to make sure you get the equipment that is right for you. Great prices. Chaffe worked with me and provided excellent advice and customer service. All of the employees really like working with customers, and everyone was very insightful. I highly recommend them, and Ill definitely be a returning customer.

I am a fairly frequent shopper here but I will never return again. After leaving the store and spending nearly $500 on new gear I drove behind the building towards the chase bank parking lot in order to make a left turn onto Broadway. Driving behind the building i had come to a complete stop due to a UPS delivery truck unloading packages with then manager / employee / balding man from superior outfitters. He was taking up the entire lane and parked diagonally and blocking the entire road when theres usually enough room for to cars to drive by. I waited patiently for them to finish unloading and the manager of the store ( I’m assuming he was the manager, some bald guy with a terrible attitude not completely bald but losing his hair, approached me and told me to turn around and that it was going to take them an hour to unload all the boxes. I asked if the UPS driver could please just pull forward for 10 seconds so I could drive by at which point the manager of the store snapped at me and rudely claimed that it was a commercial loading zone not open to the public and that I was not allowed to drive behind the store which I do not believe is true considering that there are no signs stating this. It would’ve taken more than 10 seconds for the driver to pull forward and let me pass but the store manager was so rude and did not comply with my request he said that he had to be parked diagonally like that which is completely not true it was inconsiderate and extremely unreasonable of the manager to not have the UPS driver just pull forward for.Overall this and a few other bad experiences here and I have had it. I would hate to work for thismanager as he clearly has ego issues and is on a power trip

Even in the crazy times of buying firearms we are dealing with they seem to keep a decent stock of firearms and sometimes even ammo. Ive bought a few guns here and always received great service.

Im modifying my 1 star review. Since my initial purchase that did not ship, Superior Outfitters has had some management changes. After posting my review, Adam as seen below publicly reached out to me, expedited the shipping of the product I had ordered and gave me a huge refund that I didnt even ask for. He updated me constantly with tracking info, calls and emails to rectify the situation and has earned back my business in the future.

I love these guys, great prices and friendly staff. I frequent this place multiple times a week and Im never mistreated. They have layaway if you want to pay it out or if you dont want the wife to know youre buying another gun lol. I even bring my family and friends here, Great place!

I had a very good visit here a few days ago and made a purchase. The staff was extremely busy but I never felt ignored. The staff members that helped me was very knowledgeable and helped me with every decision I had to make. Overall it was a really good experience. Will be going back soon.

Easily the worst gun store Ive been to, and Ive been to quite a few.Heres why:My friend & I went into Superior Firearms to sell/trade in a couple of our rifles, both in great condition & costing approx $1500/ea.When we first went up to the counter & stated our intentions, one of the two employees said he would have to ask his manager if that was possible.After he walked away however, my friend, just being friendly, asked the second employee how his day was going, & instead of responding, he just gave my friend a look and slowly turned and walked away without saying a word. I could hardly believe it! You wouldnt do that to a stranger on the street, much less a customer at your store..So next, while we were waiting, we went and looked at their other rifles, to find what we were looking for to trade in for.My friend found the perfect rifle that he wanted, pre-owned but appeared to be in good condition. However it had an expensive optic on it, & my friend had already gotten the optic he wanted.So he asked if it would be possible to buy the rifle without the optic, and if the store could reduce the price slightly, and just place the optic on another rifle that had no optic.The employees response was yeah I guess I could, but then I would have to go in the computer and change the pricing on the listing of both guns.Maybe it was way more complicated than it sounded, but what it really sounded like was that an employee wasnt willing to put in more than the minimum effort to make a sale.After about 20 minutes waiting, the manager finally came out to look at our rifles.At first he acted like he wasnt interested in buying them at all, saying he had too many ARs to sell (despite another employee bragging about how their rifles were just selling like crazy a few minutes before, and commenting on how he didnt see AR builds as nice as ours come in very often).Then he proceeded to lowball us HARD, offering us $350 for them, and refused to offer any more even when we told him we were planning on trading in. He could have EASILY sold these rifles for $800 or even $1000.My friend bought the other rifle he wanted anyway, and we left.Later, my friend wanted to have something shipped, and went it to ask for their FFL information. He said he was waiting for 20 minutes while employees that didnt appear to be doing anything ignored him. Finally, they spoke to him, and said they would email the FFL info to him. They never did.I would like to note that both of us were nothing but polite to these people despite their behavior, its not like we came up to them being loud and demanding or obnoxious or rude.I dont care if it is on South Broadway and convenient, you would be wise to take your business elsewhere.

I enjoyed visiting superior at their first location. It was always easy to get help and staff was friendly. Now at the new location it is harder to get employees to stop and assist you, it feels like I am at academy or gander and customer service is no longer a concern. Very sad that this business has evolved into this.

Just left this place of business will not be back had full intentions of buy two pistols one for my wife and one for myself. We counted 5 guys behind the counter. One was standing with in 8 ft of us never even spoke. We got there about 30 minutes until closing and some of them were already counting down register for the day. I will be glad to pay a little extra to someone who wants and appreciates the business. I guess they got to big for us small one time locals.

Rather unimpressed. I’ve been in a couple of times. Often the sales staff appears to be pretty accommodating. Other times, they’re just riding the clock. If I ask you if you have something in stock and you do not, that’s fine. But If i ask you when you might expect to get it in stock, get off your dead @$$ and find out. “I would have to ask” is not a valid answer. I’m asking for a reason… I’m interested in your product. If I have to tell you to do (and HOW to do) your job, you can bet that I’m buying online and may not be back in your store.

Just recently went in the store and everything looked just fine. I decided to use them as my FFL here for transfers. First item I ordered was supposed to be shipped next day but I was unsure when. Company called me 6 days later to see how it was. It had been sitting in store for 4 days! Guy in charge of these transfers had made a note that he had called my phone and left a message. No message on my cell, wife’s or home phone. I went to the store. I gave the employees several of my business cards and said “in case there is a problem again.” I left wondering how long the guy would have waited? I found out a few weeks later.Another package arrived and it sat in the store 23 days, from when the guy had made a note No Phone Number and pitched the firearm aside! The company I was dealing with had my phone number and address, as did the first company, but I guess contacting someone for a customer or sticking my business card somewhere, was too complicated! Not going back! I had to give a Star to get this review posted or theyd gotten zero!I’m working with a gun shop now, less sophisticated in some ways but way more friendly and helpful. And I bet they still have my business cards!

Great selection of AR style rifles/PCC’s. Chris is a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable. Purchased my SIG 716DM IN 6.5 from them. Also, purchased some glass, and was pleased to find out that they will bore sight the glass on your rifle for free. I would like to see a bigger selection of revolvers, but I fully understand that they are not that popular, right now.

Spoke with Jimmy over the phone to verify an item was in stock...took the ride from Dallas all the way out to Tyler and Id do it again. Great supply of firearms and ammunition.

Found an AR lower here that I couldn’t find anywhere else and wanted to by it. They asked me to enter all my personal info into one of six random tablets they had stationed in the back left corner of the store instead of filling out the normal background paperwork. When I questioned the security of it he told me all the info is deleted every night. I said what happened to the normal paper forms? Was told they went to electronic forms to make things easier. I do not know where the info you enter goes but I guarantee it not as safe as the original form filed in the lockable file cabinet. That form has everything a thief wants to steal your ID. I told the CSR that I would not put my information in some random tablet and walked out. Having said all that the store was well stocked with fair prices. Just don’t understand the willingness of people to give their info out with no thought of where’s it going.

Won’t ever do business with this store again. Bought a great gun from them for my concealed carry for $329. After 9 months, I decided I wanted to go a little smaller and came by to see if I could sell or trade the gun back for something smaller in their store and the guy offered me $100. That’s not how you do business man, but it’s a lesson learned....it’s something I’ll pass on to my fellow veterans and guy enthusiasts.

I don’t know what people are talking about saying they couldn’t get help. Most of the staff here are very knowledgeable and they are all very helpful. They compete with internet pricing, and warranty everything. Unlike Academy who makes you sign a piece of paper with every firearm purchase stating that as soon as you walk out the door, they are not responsible for any problems you have with the firearm.Those big places like Walmart and Academy don’t care about the customers. Superior does. And they will always take care of you.

Without a doubt the best firearms, gear, and accessories store in East Texas. Great customer service, great selection, and very competitive pricing. They are truly a superior staff!! Everytime I come in the store, they are friendly and let you look around until you are ready to see something or have a question about a product.

Worst gun store in town. Their prices on new and used guns are too high, and they offer absurdly low amounts of you bring in a gun to sell or trade. Older guy behind the counter seemed uninterested in talking to me, like he better things to do than help a customer. Won’t be going back.Edit - went back for a second try and to talk with a manager I spoke with on the phone. Manager was out, but the sales person the second had another bad attitude. Not really interested in meeting in the middle on prices. $400 for a Mosin Nagant? Ya right. They refuse to barter, this is the only gun shop I have ever been to that refuses to barter. I won’t be coming back, ever. Customer service is clearly not a priority to them.

Theyve let the name go to their heads. Very arrogant and snobbish. Its like they think theyre thre only game in town. A little higher priced than others around as well. Walked away while i was asking a question after i had bought a weapon from Jim just a few days before. I wont be back and wont reccomend them.

This place has horrible customer service. I walked in & was not greeted at all. I had to wait a few minutes before anyone came to assist me. They wasted no time greeting other customers though. This store is my only option at the moment to purchase hand guns, they have the best selections. The guy with the England accent was cool though.

They are a typical retailer, trying to make it IIn an age where internet sales kill brick and mortar stores. This is reflected thier pricing... Most guns can be found cheaper if you scour the net and in most cases Academy will not only match that said price but drop it by another 5%. This makes it hard for a local shop to stay in business, add to the over head cost of fancy granite counters and a big beautiful store probably doesnt help much. After all the customer really doesnt care about all the flash just that he saved as much cash as possible non his purchase. The staff iss hit and miss. Some are spot on like the former Marine and others with prior service and then theres those that you swear just put the call of duty controller down and walked in to work. In other words some of the staff lack a well rounded knowledge of firearms and the items, companies associated with it. Just my two cents.

This is now my go to gun store. After being ignored at the other big chain stores in town I came to superior. As soon as I walked in a sales person was there ready to help and in no time had me fixed up with what I was looking for. Needless to say superior will be my one and only stop from now on.

Have recommended this place to several friends because they always have taken care of me when I went in. They also have a spring event every year and give away bags of stuff to the first 300 people, on top of having vendors and special guest come in. Been twice and has been a great time on both occasions.

Paid them to mount a scope on a rifle, and they mounted it wrong- 90° rotated with elevation on side and windage on top. They said it was a new guy who mounted it. Also sad to see the lack of respect for truth and civilty on display.
