Hicks repair was great! For one thing the pull rope broke off of my lawn mower and I had to get that replaced, which they did, taking the huge weight off my shoulders of having to buy another lawn mower and for another they noticed that the blade on my lawn mower had been put on upside down by some other company so they turned that around and the mower works great! Very good job!

I do not recommend this place. I took my zero turn there to get repaired for a small issue with hydraulics. Meanwhile, I also mentioned I wanted them to change the blades in which I could have done myself but decided for them to go ahead and do it. I wait a whole week only for them to tell me the blades are back ordered. The staff up front could have told me this the moment I got there instead of telling me day after day that the part is on its way.Also, they need to work on customer service. The woman called me and literally only said, $59.50 like I am supposed to automatically know who she is and what she is referring to. I dont trust them at all.

Ive had to lawn mowers repaired here and neither one was done right they did the minimum instead of replacing a cable on one of them they tied my cable in a knot and never replaced my pull cord on the other one and charged a whole lot for mowers that never ran when I got them home

All the higher scores must be friends. Horrible work ethic, they lied about the estimate, they lied every turn and ended up never returning the mower, and told me to just try to sue them because it would cost me more in costs than I would ever get. I contacted the bbb but that was a joke too. They took my complaint but after many months it still is showing A+ rating with 0 complaints so no telling how many other complaints theyve had but just arent noting them. Anyone walking down the street would be better choice than these dishonest people.

Couldnt have been much worse. Dropped off a $7500 zero turn with about 150 hrs needing a simple oil gasket. Picked it up on 05-17-14, the motor immediately started making racket like it was coming to pieces. I inspected the motor, many bolts had not been replaced, the oil plug was so loose, i turned it four revolutions by hand. Several components had broken due to not being put back on correctly. Then noticed oil coming from the muffler. Took it to a real shop, They said hicks neglected to reinstall the oil pump, thus ruining the motor. So, i had a small oil leak, thanks to hicks, now im out 1500.00 for a motor. Everyone makes mistakes, but to leave out multiple crucial bolts and not hook the oil pump back up, thats just blatant incompetence, total lack of skill or concern. I wouldnt take them a $20 bicycle to repair. Youve been warned.

I took my push mower in asking for the self propelled cable to be replaced. Being a female and letting a mower in the back of a Kia Optima is not an easy task. They kept the mower for 12 days. When it was finally ready, I picked it up and got it home to mow but the self propell wouldnt work. I called Hicks and they told me to load it in the car again, after cleaning my trunk from the mud from their shop, they would look at it. They have a pick up service but said they would charge me 20.00 to come get it. Poor customer service!!! They lost my business. Will be dealing with a different mower repair shop in the future.

Sent a self propelled Toro push mower here for a full service (oil change,blade sharpen, spark plugs, look-over, etc...). It was for my grandmother and didnt have time to take it so I used their pickup service (cost $30 I think, could be wrong on the price). First, they broke the tension spring on the handle for the self propelled activation lever, presumably with a strap to secure it in transport. Then, after changing the oil, spark plug, air filter, and replacing the blade (although a simple sharpening was all that was needed not a full replacement) they called and notified that it was ready.... only to call back in few min stating that it was making a bad rattling and needed a new transmission. Ok, si did they offer to do that? No they said they dont service Toro mowers, and I should just buy one of their brand new ones. They offered to take the old mower as a trade for the $80 service bill now outstanding. Let me get this strait, you cant service a part on a Toro bc u cant do those yet are more than happy to take it for parts. Sounds like u can swap parts on toros just fine. Dont forget this mower they wanted to trade for the bill, had the new parts on it that the bill was for in the first place. I ended up easily dixing it myself (needed new wheel bearings, not a transmission). So they are either incompetent or scammers. Either way I dont recommend using them, ever, for anything.Edit: I forgot to mention that their full service included throwing on the afromentiomed parts with NO additional inspection u would expect in a full service. You could tell things like the battery were never even thought about. Probably took them no more than 10 min tops.

Always helpful can fix most anything

The day I dropped off the mower, I asked them to have a look at it and call me with an estimate ASAP. Thirteen days after I dropped off the mower, I called. They listed off 4 or 5 things it was going to need and approximated the costs - but nothing had been done. Wish I would have had that information a day or two after I dropped it off. Then I could have made a decision about buying a new one. Incompetent.

I have a mobil small engine repair service. For two years. I have called this place looking for ROUTINE, very common parts, when I am close to them intsead of having to run all the way back in to town. NOT ONE TIME has this place EVER had what I need...The lady always gives an excuse as to why. I thought it was just me...NOPE..two people ahead of me had the same issue. I cant say about the shop personally...but most I deal with on that side of town call me because the shop either lied to them or just flat out didnt know. Will never again try to do business with them. You shouldnt either.
