Always busy in the morning as bagels spots usually are, but its great food!Friendly staff, clean area, and lots of options. This is my go to breakfast spot!Pretty decent coffee and prices arent too bad. Definitely would recommend placing an order in advance though to avoid the wait

Your tipical busy breakfast place.Nothing too special.I payed in full for a spinach bacon sandwich, but I did not want the bacon, & they did not substitute it for any veggies (as easy & simple as that is).So I payed for bacon I did not even have.Also online it says it comes with tomato spread which it did NOT.The sandwich itself was soggy, croiassant was not toasted & In regards to filling-bread ratio it was too much eggwhites, with 2-3 leaves of spinach.I did not enjoy it, took two bites & that was it, Couldnt eat it.It tasted as if they just threw everything in there, no seasoning, no care.I would have returned it & asked for a refund, but then I thought...Whats the point 😑

My first time.Called a family member to inquire, Said you cant go wrong Manhattan Bagel.Had manhattan cheese steak, Oh so good! Fresh bread, roasted red pepper, onions, so juicy.$10.12. no long lane,plenty of parking.theres a seating area to your left as you enter. all staff masked up. looks like great team work. great flow of regulars. every one seems to know each other.👍👍👍👍

I use to love swinging by every so often & I always left satisfied. BUT this will be my last time visiting this location. Service is horrible, they have a bunch of girls with attitudes. I ordered a sandwich that didn’t come out as I assumed & requested for them to add & cook the ingredients. They SERVED ME AVOCADO THAT WASNT READY TO EAT !!! Why? Why would I want an egg white sandwich with uncooked spinach! The bagel wasn’t toasted the second time around. Like you can tell they did to upset me. I miss the old crew !

Delicious bagels nice and fresh. You can buy your favorite plain or in a sandwich. The people are courteous and the prices are low.

My wife and I recently went here for breakfast for the first time in a year and wow, this place changed for the worst. All new employees who were not friendly. My wife asked for her receipt and the employee at the register rudely told her to wait and took the next customer. They got both of our orders mixed up. I asked for bacon on my egg sandwhich on an everything bagel, yet they put the bacon on my wifes raisin bagel instead. We also noticed much less scrambled egg on our bagels than in the past. It was not very filling. Even the iced coffee was bland and not sweet. This place is not that close to us and we travel a little further to get to it, but not anymore. I doubt we will return.

Love the food. Bagels and croissants look and taste fresh and great. Unfortunately their hash browns could be better in my opinion. The specials are always interesting

Love this place. The ONLY bagel outside of the borough of Manhattan thats worth eating. Always fresh/hot. Always quick and efficient at the counter.They have free WiFi, comfortable seating area away from the hubub of the counter area. Theres a great assortment of bulk spreads, juices, coffees. Plus they have a grill for breakfast and sandwiches, along with good solid soups.Ive had them cater office events, as well. They do a first-rate job - from coffee to juices to spreads to fruit bowls. And the bagels arrive warm! I dont know what the minimums are (if any) for delivery, but the deliver!

If I could give no stars I would, order frequently and each time there is something missing or done not as per order. Called directly today speak to one of the workers (Barlydia) who has the worst attitude and clearly doesn’t care about an issue. Was told there is no one in charge and the owner/Manager Leo may be in some time later. Our office will clearly order daily from another place at this point. As I read through other reviews I see that the quality in food and staff has gone down.

Went to pick up an Uber eats order this morning only for them to say they couldn’t find it in the system and had no orders that morning even though the girl admitted to having issues with their computer at the moment. I get charged $20 and they have the nerve to ask me would I like to just order and pay for something I already paid for. An Uber eats refused to refund me my money. Never had an issue but I don’t like sketchy business practices

Nice litte shop with nice airy bagels. Not heavy and doughy. Crispy outside and nice and soft inside. Good sized, not oversized. They sell from one to anything in between to a bakers dozen. Have gone a few times and always busy, which is good. Means theyre good.

Bagels are always super fresh. They are crunchy on the outside and so soft in the inside. Numerous types of bagels to go along with the several choices of cream cheese. They spread plenty of cream cheese on there to satisfy which ever way you like it made. They also make numerous sandwiches which are good as well which will take care of your breakfast and lunch needs.The staff is super friendly and helpful in making sure you get your order exactly how you want it.

Pricey but food is always perfectly done. The omlette wrap is huge and they will toast any kind of bread that you like. I frequently get the sesame bagel sandwich. Unique lunch sandwich options also available as well as smoothies and such.

One of my favorite places to get breakfast. I order from here wayyyy too much. I love their bagel sandwiches! The owner of this Manhattan Bagel, (I think his name is Sal), used to have a location in Elizabeth prior to this Union location. I used to get bagels there before going to work. The owner and his staff were so nice. There used to be a handsome, young man who used to always work there and he was always upbeat, personable and friendly. I pray life turned out well for him since this was 20 yrs ago. Anyway, I followed the owner to his Manhattan Bagel location in Union. Its a very busy spot. Food is still good. Staff friendly. They have these mini chocolate chip cookies I really like. Its so nice to still frequent a place that has many memories for me. I havent seen the owner in a while and pray hes enjoying a highly deserved rest from the daily duties of his business. If youre ever in the neighborhood stop by. I suggest you place an order online first since this is a busy place, but well worth it.

Great! bagels

Ordered a variety of bagels from here today as I was trying to find a new place to order bagels from. Ordered a dozen of my favorite bagels. In that variety was 4 everything bagels. These were the most saltiest everything bagels Ive had in my life and I couldnt understand why. Then I inspected the bagel and they literally put salt on the bagels. Who puts salt on a bagel? Much less one that already packs so much flavor. I was already hesitant as their delivery charge was ridiculous. I have not tried the other bagels yet and because of the 1 I ate, I dont have high expectations for the rest unfortunately. Probably will not order from here again as they do not know how to make everything bagels. Bagels are also small in size. The bagels did appear fresh though.

Fresh bagels and different spreads available as well. Coffee is average. They do have good smoothies. Just a little pricey compared to others.

So my husband ordered a Taylor ham, egg and cheese and when he got home, he went to eat it and he had a burnt kind of bagel, Taylor ham and cheese, they forgot the egg, this is not the first time, or second, it has happened before, so my husband went back to the location and told them the sandwich was not what he had ordered, they just took the sandwich back, tossed in the garbage and never said a word to him, never apologized, they just gave him another sandwich and again did not say a word. I guess this is how they treat their customers ?

When i was here before it was great. The last 2 times it has consistently gotten worst. The staff today is not very effecient. The bold dark roast coffee tasted like hazelnut. They put the wrong coffee in place. The girl at the counter so eager to get our order that it was wrong. It was not busy. And the cashier needs better customer service. This is not the same as before.They need better customer service.The bagels are great but i wont get anything else. It will be awhile before i return

Not a huge fan of the bagels here but they put together a decent sandwich . Ideas are semi original but the only reason I actually visit is because the pastries are pretty much the best thing ever. if they only made those pastries they would def have 5 stars. Half the staff here is rude but whatever its not like I come in to sit down next to them

I placed a catering order on Saturday and paid for it, to be picked up Monday morning at 7:15. When I get there, there are 8 workers looking at me like deers in headlights. My order was not ready, they had no clue what to do. The manager shows up way later, giving me a cheap apology. I didnt make a scandal because whats the point of doing that? So, I had to wait 20 minutes and the blueberry muffins which I had originally ordered were not ready, so I had to settle for something else. Worst experience ever, not going back. They are super expensive. I have ordered bagels somewhere else for 1/4 of what these people charged me. Not going back!!!

I have been going to Manhattans Bagels in Union NJ for so many years, I used to love their services. BUT lately they have been getting worse and worse. Last Sunday I wait 45 for one Taylor ham egg and cheese bagel. I don’t know if is a new owner or what. But I wasn’t the only one complaining about.

All staff are friendly. The food is wonderful. Theyll re-do anything that doesnt come out just right. Im really picky about my bagels and bread being well toasted but not burnt. I almost feel bad when they throw out the item when its over toasted. But theyll do it without any qualms whatsoever!

I gave them my credit card and they charged me. As I walked away I noticed that they charged me close to $15.00!!!!! Obviously, I had to inquire about the mistake. No mistake, the OJ is $12.00 for what appeared to be 20oz! PATHETIC! The bagels were still good but beware of the prices before you pick that OJ up!!Good bagels and freshly squeezed OJ. Service is usually pretty quick even when its crowded.

Line was long, indication for great food. Was confusing with the line; bagels are in a clean and creative showcase. Daughter got cream cheese and jelly but was not a smear of jelly on the bagel . Coffee was amazing

Weve tried to get bagels from this place 2 times already and the place and ended up going to the local bagel store. The 1st time the line was ridiculously long, the 2nd time, we waited until we patiently moved thru the crowd, and when we finally waited for the employee to say next, this rude lady just cut in front of us and started shouting her order. When my fiance told the employee he was next, the girl rudely said oh well and kept taking the other womans order. Too bad theyre a very disorganized place and they have some rude employees who act like theyre doing you a favor. We gave them 1 star because their bagels are good and we do enjoy them and just wont be going there anymore, but on the plus side, we tried other places with nicer employees.

Good food, I was expecting the place to be smaller because it looks very tiny from the outside but it was actually pretty comfortable and spacious inside.

We moved to NJ a year ago and werent sure the bagels were going to stack up. This place is actually pretty good-- not as doughy as the ones on Long Island but they season them well and if you ask, will put a good amount of cream cheese on there.

I have been attending this place for a very long time now and I enjoy going there the food is excellent its just one afternoon that I attended there and it was a young girl that was there for just barely knew she made a sandwich for me which was excellent but when I bit into it it tastes like it had a cleaning product for Bleach I called and they told me come back in another date and get a sandwich but I was too embarrassed to come back in because you dont want people to think you just come in there just to get free food but other than that I love coming to this place every single time and if you do have a problem they always say come back and order another one for free the staff there is excellent every single one of them

Weve only been going every other week for the past year and looked forward to the lox, cream cheese and bagels we got each time. Over the past several weeks we noticed significantly less lox and cream cheese. The crew said the owner reduced the amount of lox to 3 oz-hardly enough for one layer-we assume they did the same w the cream cheese! The bagels even seem smaller. We are shopping around for a new bagel bakery! Did they think no one would notice? Very disappointing.

Why do folks keep complicating the online ordering process more and more? dont take call in orders.. had a text number for ordering for pick up..text number doesnt work anymore but they have an app. only thing is, where the hell is the app?....you could order from a desktop but the full menu options are not listed online. the only way to order for pickup is to go and do it in person but that defeats the purpose of calling or texting it in for people who are on time constraints with travels or breaks
