Nothing but great things to say about these guys! Pete and James were great, I had my 2006 Mini Cooper at multiple shops who could not figure out the issue, including the dealership (which quoted $6,400 without even guaranteeing a fix). Ending up costing me less than $400 for a wiring repair. Needless to say they have me and my families business for all our future repairs!

I had my transmission rebuilt here. I really appreciated the men that worked on my car and got it back to me so quickly. It meant a lot that they took care of my car and didn’t take advantage.

I just picked up my 2014 Ford Focus from certified transmission and am very happy with the cost, warranty, and service received. I called several different transmission shops to get a quote on rebuilding my trans and was frustrated with how expensive of a bill I was going to end up with. Certified quoted me lower than the others and Pete towed my car in for free which wasn’t something any of the other places offered. He was very respectful and efficient and had my car back by the end of the week which was decent turnaround time. I’ll be a return customer with my other vehicles in the future! Also interested in using their auto body repair shop for my older car that needs to be repainted in the near future.

They manager is a good guy. Just not reliable with when your car is finished. I had my car sitting for 3 days in there parking lot and the catalytic converter was stolen from the van. Certified transmission did pay for a replacement which shows they are a honest company. I bless there business therefore. I would go back to do business with them. Just dont leave your car in there parking lot.

I had them to put a transmission in my 08 gt,g6 an I got it back 3,4 days later an all i can say is Thank You...it runs fantastic!!!! To be totally honest a good place to go I would go again it cost me a little more and I thought it was going to cost me but the job got done in fact I picked the car up the night before I had to drive all the way to Texas and cross my fingers but it seems like they did a good job

Recently brought my 03 Ford F-150 in for a simple and standard tune up and oil change (New coil packs, Spark plugs, and filters). A different shop who normally does my work but was unavailable when the job needed done because of my timeline and his schedule. I have brought my company and personal vehicle to Certified Auto repeatedly and typically never had any issues until Pete Jr. took over for his father. Multiple shops quoted me $300-$400 in labor for the tune up, including any Spark Plug extraction that is common on my year F150. Upon calling Certified, Pete Jr quoted me $150 for labor but threw in at the end, any plug extraction will be an additional $100 each. At this point I had no choice due to my timeline and with the prior work on company and personal vehicles, was confident they could complete the job with little to no extra plug extraction. Pete Jr said he would personally handle it for me and I agreed. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. I was told the vehicle would be done by the end of the day so I called 3 separate times well before the shop closed and got sent to voicemail every time when trying to get a status check. The following day, I was sent to voicemail 2 more times when trying for an updated so I called from a different number and magically, Pete Jr answered and sounded surprised it was me. I was told I could pick the vehicle up in 30 minutes. Upon arrival for pickup, I was told 7 out of 8 plugs “needed extraction” and my labor bill was up to $800 and that they didn’t know I had called 5 times for updates. I ALWAYS was the first person to recommend Certified Auto & Transmission but after this, I HIGHLY recommend thinking twice and getting multiple quotes before moving forward with them, or you might be in for hundreds more than told, or expected. Make sure to also always ask for your parts back as well. I did not receive or see my 7 “extracted spark plugs” I paid an additional $700 to have removed. To add insult to injury, at the end, Pete Jr. had enough nerve to say I even cut you a deal and made it $800 even. I’m sure all of it besides the original quoted $150 ended up in Pete Jr’s pocket but of course there is not enough proof. Please be aware and prepared for the worst if bringing your vehicle here. 👍🏻 Hope this helps.

I went seeking transmission repair and they diagnosed my Trans And repaired at a great price. It was a great experience.

Really fast and efficient on getting my transmission done. Was able to tell Pete exactly what is was doing and before he even drove it he knew what the problem was. Was able to get a courtesy car while they had mine for 2 days only. Its been a couple weeks now since I have had it their and it runs like a brand new truck!!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone. They do just about everything for any type of vehicle as well at great prices!

Dont ever use this shop I was charged $900 for 2 hose clamps and some silicone the people there do not know what they are doing got truck done an overheated they dont know how to even put in antifreeze

My transmission started going out on my way to visit family in Tennessee. Found shop on google and decided to give them a call. So glad I did! They dispatched a wrecker within the hour and the tow was free with my repair. They stayed past closing time to get me back on the road the same day. Had it a week and not repaired yet

They tell you one price than rack it up another couple hundred for work that didn’t need to be done. Charges double for parts, so better bring your own. The work that will be done last a month and than whatever you have them fix ends up being the problem again and sometimes a bigger problem than before. Terrible place to go. Do not even recommend to people I hate because this place is just that bad.

Last week my truck went down hauling a load going through Chesterton Indiana with a transmission problem. Not only did there tow trucks come and pick me and my load up for free, saving me the $500 towing bill I was quoted, but until my company was able to approve loaning me the money for the work, they paid my 2 nights hotel room until I got the funds and after everything the manager was able to work with me on the final bill to get me back on the road, service was above and beyond.

My transmission started acting up so I called several repair shops for pricing and turn around time. Certified auto had the lowest price and they had my vehicle back to me the next afternoon. I am from Chicago and not only did they tow it in free of charge, they also delivered it back to me at no additional charge. I am beyond pleased with the service I received.

Best auto shop that I have ever had work on my cars!!!! On a Tuesday afternoon my starter went out I was stuck at work stressing they sent there tow truck right over and even managed to squeeze my car in even tho they were completely busy, I am so grateful for them and how fast and efficient they are with completing the jobs on any of my cars I have brought in.

So far i am very satisfied with the service done to my vehicle, they were able to match the labor rates of my extended warranty which the dealer would not do, saving me just under $1400 in out of pocket costs. We broke down in valparaiso with our car and called certified. They came right out in a new tow truck and picked us and our dogs up right away. Very nice tow truck driver and nice clean shop. We new we made the right call.We thought it was our engine but ended up being a bad alternator that locked up. Pete got us on the road the same day gave us free bottled water coffee and had free donuts there also water for our pups just can’t say how much we appreciated them for everything.

They stole an OBDII adapter out of my car. Their paper when you sign it says they are not liable if something goes missing out of your car. So lesson learned, take anything valuable out, one of their employees might steal it.Luckily it was only worth 24 dollars but some people think they cost 100 or more dollars.. just bought another one on amazon with my points, so I only paid 5 dollars, but still... they stole something they thought was of more value, out of a customers car...

A few weeks ago my car started making a funny noise. As it got worse I started doing some research. It seemed to be a transmission issue from what I could find on the internet. So I did another quick Google search for the best ranked transmission shop in Valpo and brought it here. They asked me to leave the car there for a few hours to cool down so they could check transmission. They called me back a few hours later and confirmed my suspicions. They said my car probably needed a transmission rebuild and they could have it done in about two days. But in the interim I looked more closely at their Google reviews and noticed some looked suspicious. I told them not to do the work. I was going to get a second opinion. They were nice about it and not pushy at all. A few days later I was visiting my brother out of town. He is an auto mechanic for a different car company. He listened to my car for about four seconds and said it was a heat shield. He reached under, pulled and tugged at a few things (engine was cold) and the sound temporarily went away. I then looked for an exhaust place in valpo. Took my car to the exhaust place and they fixed it in about 15 minutes for less than the tax I would have paid for the transmission work I was told I needed.So all I can say is they misdiagnosed what was a very easy thing to check. But maybe they would have noticed when they started to tear my transmission? And their online reviews look suspicious.

Don’t ever take your car or transmission here I had my trans rebuilt got the trans back would not shift past 2 gear brought truck back to them because it was supposed to be under warranty and they told me no problem we will see whaths wrong and let u know 8 days go by they said it needs a governor and they will pay for that but they want 299 to take my trans out 299 to put it back in even though it was their fault in the first place.terrible customer service tried callin numerous times and left messages I had to drive to the shop just to figure out what’s going on.

Not an honest mechanic, Ill never go here. And I suggest you dont either if you want to keep your hard earned money.

I have never dealt with a shop like this one before. I took my truck in to get the transmission fixed and when I went back to get it they had given it away to God knows who or they were hiding it from me. The owner was unprofessional and he didnt notify me of anything. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE LIARS. I am talking with my lawyer now on how I should go about getting my truck back from these thieves.
