Its grim. But we know that. Main street Safeway is just as infamous as Edward at ampm. Kind of quirky, possibly on drugs and just as old as Vancouver itself.

I wish cashiers wouldn’t get upset with the customer for their computer not working as it should, I knew when it said zero saving something was wrong. That was super embarrassing how it was handled. Then realizing that something was wrong and you were nice to me didn’t help the slightest. No one comes in to shop to hold up the lines up on purpose. 80 to 50 dollars is a big deal to me, I guess next time I’ll paid over just so I don’t feel embarrassed again.

All the employees are really nice but honestly I’ve been disappointed in everything else here. The street adjacent seems to be a popular drug dealing location so I’ve seen RVs, abandoned trashed cars, people passed out in the bushes behind the property. Inside the building seems to be really cramped and dirty. I live a block away from here and I find myself driving 10 minutes to Fred Meyer where it’s safer, cleaner, and less expensive.

Decent prices. Not their fault but too much tax on hard alcohol. Great worker, with pink hair, that helped me in the cases with booze. She was wonderful. Give her a raise.

I had been going to the Safeway for . I always enjoy the staff they have that work there they are very welcoming nice employed, very helpful. Pharmacy has great staff. They know you by name when you become a regular customer. They always have fresh produce and vegetables and new fruit to try always in season. If youre looking for exotic fruit they always have something available. White nectarines and white Saturn peaches are amazing. Great deals to. They have amazing floral department with roses that smell like real roses not factory grown roses.

I love this Safeway. The workers are friendly and they always have what I need there. Vegetables and fruits are always fresh and it does get busy in the evening but that’s pretty much when everyone is getting out of work and school and getting last minute groceries. Workers always do their best to get everyone checked out and always nice and ask if we found everything we are looking for. I’ve been going to this Safeway for 5 years now since this is the closest store to my house. Highly recommend this Safeway. It’s definitely family friendly.

Love my neighborhood Safeway store for its hospitable employees.Although i shop there for specific items such as their deli chicken and two pack cookies. Safeway is too expensive for me, when compared to other stores.

Never been to Vancouver WA before. Went to this store for some items passing through. Cute pleasant store. I liked the atmosphere.

The employees are friendly and helpful. A lot of the people that shop however are not as friendly. Theyre selection is also less than other Safeways, but it is smaller than the others. A good place for a quick snack stop or quick grocery trip.

Found everything fine. Employees were all polite.

Be careful to inspect your purchases for pull dates. My silk cashew & almond protein milk was bad the next day like jello and the vegetable jicamas were moldy I noticed when I got home. Had to return trip just to swap em.

Most the employees are nice. Gas attendants are very cool.

If your concerned about Covid DO NOT shop here. No mandates are unforced and most shoppers are walking around mask free. Management has no intention of enforcing it or even politely asking shoppers to put on a mask. This store is also old and in disrepair. The first thing I noticed entering this store was the musty smell that permeates it. I’d definitely choose another Safeway to shop at.

OK love your large curd cottage cheese, however I was charged twice for Biore Deep Energizer Max. I will be returning the product to have my money refunded.

Great grocery store in the heart of downtown Vancouver... Our check out cashier was pleasant and conscientious... Even tied the bag handles together... Nobody seems to provide that courtesy anymore... Thanks Deanna!!

Great grocery location when you are in a hurry but not so great when it comes to being thrifty. You pay for quality over anything else with Safeway. If you dont mind the extra price for something good in a hurry, Safeway is your best bet.

In my opinion, its pretty mediocre as far as Vancouver Safeways go. Its smaller, which can be a good and a bad thing. I had a hard time finding the coconut water, but I got what I needed after a while. The parking lot isnt the greatest, and the area isnt that nice. Fortunately, the interior doesnt get too crowded in the aisles, though the lines get pretty long. Three self checkout areas really isnt enough, especially if theres a bunch of people who are doing quick in-and-out trips like I did.

My local Safeway is always very pleasant very friendly and very clean however lately the shelves seem to be empty of cat food toilet paper and other essentials

Very friendly cashier. Smaller store with less items. However, the still have the majority of your shopping list. Just a bit less selection.

It was nice they even helped me save 18 bucks while i was there and being out of town they easily could of kept quite and I wouldnt of knwn a thing.

Checker was rude to a customer in front of me, overpriced him for peppers and said they were avacacados! He left the produce, they were peppers! I think I should shop somewhere else, disrespectful to elderly people.

I only go to Safeway if particular thing.I do love their meat and Hazel Dell has their own bakery.

Just what you need for a neighborhood safeway. Friendly and helpful employees and fresh food. The staff in the pharmacy is really kind and supportive as well. They will go great lengths to work out prescription needs to provide you affordable and appropriate care. I was prescribed accutane for which the prescription process is quite challenging with the monthly blood work and assessment before youre able to obtain your prescription. I was supposed to have a doctors note for a monthly prescription, but it wasnt sent, and the staff at the pharmacy really went all out to make sure that they could help me out in something that was already kind of a stressful process. I really appreciated that.

Super small grocery store and dirty and disorganized. A few good employees hold the place together. It’s like Safeway has forgotten about it .

Safeway is great shopping store where its conveniently down the street from my house. I find that many of the stores over the years no matter what major city Ive lived in were nearby so the familiarity with the store is somehow a beacon for me to consider shopping at Safeway! The daily specials, convenience, and availability of products are reasons Safeway is on my list of places to shop!

The food at the deli was hot and enjoyable for a busy time that I arrived. Disappointed No Chicken wings avsilable.No baked ir fried. The legs were ok fried and baked. I have no complaints with 39th & Main St. In Vancouver, Wa.

The problem with this store is not a people problem it is a size issue. Its too small to carry a lot of products. There is no in store bakery that I can see, but they have a deli. They stay open until midnight. They have hard alcohol, beer and wine. They also have a lottery machine and red box. Staff are very nice. Masks required to shop.

Really shady characters but I guess for the neighborhood near this supermarket is ok. Only went there for an appointment at the pharmacy and left immediately right after. I did help an elderly man with some $$ and he started to cry which made me tear up; we gotta do something for the homeless!

Got my covid vaccines here and usually shop about 3 or 4 times a week . Everyone is always so friendly

If you use the Safeway app you can save a ton of money. The receipt tells you how much in percentage that you saved. My best is 65%. Thats more than half!!!!

Clean and very well stocked. There is no meat and fresh seafood counter. There are many selections of pre-packaged meat but fresh seafood is very limited.

I feel like every time I go into the store recently theres one or more customers shopping without masks. The other night there was a mask less customer pulling a clerk really close to talk in her ear.I dunno, just not the vibe I expected to see this far into a global pandemic.

This Safeway is always stocked well, lots of items that you need available in many venues. The staff are very professional, do their jobs well, but, the one thing that is missing in my opinion is warmness, you know that overall friendliness that makes your shopping experience perfect. One more thing that I certainly find as a big negative is their high prices. Its not my favorite store by far. But, if you want a wonderfully beautiful selection of different styles and sizes of floral arrangements, balloons, etc., for birthday, get well, or other occasion, without having to go to an expensive florist, than I would highly recommend this particular location of Safeway.

Great meat department. I like to get diet tonic water there, good taste and price. Safeway deli chicken is kind of blah, i get it anyway usually to make sandwiches. Also, the cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls are great, they really pile on the frosting.

Safeway has went downhill in the last two years they sell rotten food in the produce section all the time. And just a general overall products they have are not worth what they want one total rip-off go to WinCo

Good selection on meat. Picked up some sirloins for a good sale price and the quality was excellent.

A very clean and organized Safeway store, as usual. Produce is always fresh. Not the greatest for fresh seafood. Pharmacy drugs are usually ready in 15 minutes and they will text message you while you grocery shop.

Employees were very rude. I honestly dont know why this place hasnt had a complete overhaul by now

Fred Meyer has better customer service.

They do not enforce mask wearing. A woman in the store had no mask on and was coughing all over the refrigerated chicken. I brought this to the attention of a staff member and he shrugged his shoulders and told me it’s not their policy to do anything about it. Mask wearing indoors is the law. So, apparently it’s not this store’s policy to follow laws. Very disappointing as this is my neighborhood Safeway.

After searching the whole store I ended up having to ask an employee where the bathroom was and he sent me to the back of store into the warehouse where all the stock is stored to a door that was locked and I assume only had one toilet. I waited there for fifteen minutes before I just decided to leave without getting groceries

It was quite Pleasant I got almost everything I wanted but you know how it is when you dont get everything you want everybody was really nice and I appreciate the service. Sweet things are with the covid-19 you cant get everything that you want at a store they have trouble getting stuff so I understand that everything is okay.

I had a great experience at this Safeway. The Pharmacist was great didnt feel the needle at all he definitely knows what he is doing.

A little sketchy clientele - wearing masks wrong, carrying a dog, not observing social distancing. But the store was clean, well-lit, and well stocked. And the staff was nice.

The guys that work here are friendly and fast.they help you get in and out in a very easy and orderly fashion.it was a nice nonstressfull experiance.I would not mind it if i had to deal with this place all week !!

I enjoy this Safeway. Its not as big as the others, never really busy, and I can get in and out really fast. Even if I am doing the big shop for the month. I can also find really good meat prices, other than the ones advertised.

9/26/21In again 5 months later and youve gotten even worse. How is it that youre letting 10 or more totally maskless people in - and you claimed to care about your customers?! Rhia the manager claims that corporate wont let you say ANYTHING to customers now. (I saw less than 1/2 as many maskless people in all of COSTCO this morning, how is Safeway doing so badly?!) There was even an employee exiting from behind the customer service counter without a mask that Rhia said was a pharmacy manager - she exited through the store maskless. Safeway doesnt seem to care about our public health at all at a point in the pandemic where our hospitals are overflowing. I think I am breaking up with Safeway period now. My checker was nice though.I guess you didnt care too much about Connors report after all. I saw 2 maskless shoppers today going through checkout with nothing said to them, 3-4 with masks below nose including a couple smelling items in one aisle, plus a guy working pharmacy with mask below nose. Disgusting!
