Great little hardware store! I found the specific oil Id been searching for some vintage furniture pieces. Employee was able to correctly direct me to the product. I also found the exact wattage light bulbs that seem to be difficult to find!

Great service and wealth of experience. I have been shopping at Rocky Ridge Hardware since we moved to Birmingham area in 2003. The staff is very knowledgeable and has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars through their advice. Mr. Moran purchased the business a few years ago and continues the excellent service. The only change I report is that location moved a few doors to the left with renovation to the shopping center.

In these fast paced times we live in its nice to visit my local hardware store. All the employees are quite helpful. If you have ever been to the big stores you know you have to chase an employee that is if you can find one. Well at RRH that WONT happen they greet you and will direct you. Give them a try.

Confronted by a rude female employee about not having a mask on, there wasn’t a single person within 50 feet of me. Before I could get my mask on she followed me and kept saying “put on a mask.” Will never return to this establishment.

I love this place. Every community needs an old fashioned hardware store. You can find anything you need here. The owners and staff of Rocky Ridge Hardware are always so welcoming and friendly and more than happy to assist. They support the community and schools and always have. In fact, they offered teachers who teach in the schools in our system, 50 percent off before school started. If you need a bit of nostalgia from Saturday mornings with your father or grandfather going to the hardware store, this is the place.

Great place and knowledgeable clerks. I would be leaving 5 stars if not for the lack of Covid Mask on every worker and customer. Didn’t feel any safer than going to Covid Depot. Why aren’t they taking Covid 19 serious?

The old man (no offense to the senior community) who was working the register was very unfriendly and hateful as I was entering the store to get a couple of items as well as during the checkout process. I was there trying to be a good customer and the man just didnt appreciate me being in the store and definitely didnt want my business. Its obvious that the store just wants a certain clientele to do business with them. In case youre wondering, I did absolutely nothing to provoke such behavior from that employee. I will not be doing business with them again.

Worst experience ever, rudest manager I have ever dealt with if my car was broke down and my only choice was rock ridge I’d still be broke down. If I could give it less than 1 star I would.

Came in a few minutes before closing the younger staff was very helpful in helping me find what I needed but the older staff started to tell them to bring everything in and before I knew it he turned the lights out on me. You would think that when you are spending money with a business they would be more understanding.

Small quaint shopping center. There is a Western Supermarket, a hardware store, a consignment shop, a pharmacy and a Subway. Across the parking lot there is a flower nursery all nicely tucked away and hidden in in the mist large estates and forestry. Kind of makes you fill you stepped back in time.

This store strives to offer the community with their needs.. so nice to be able to get paint, nails, plumbing supplies and more and stay local. I would strongly suggest this merchant

There are several reasons I love Rocky Ridge Hardware. The first is that for me they are much more convenient than the couple of over-the-mountain big boxes. Second, I can usually find what I need here - not always, but most of the time. Third, Ive found their prices are usually competitive with the big box stores. Fourth, I can get good advice and instruction here, even on those jobs where, truth-be-known, I dont have a clue what Im doing. And lastly, through my years of living in Vestavia Hills Ive always preferred to buy from locally-owned stores rather than from the big corporate chains. Local owners are my neighbors, my friends and buying local helps the community more than having a portion of my dollars shipped out of state to corporate execs and shareholders. 5-stars for Rocky Ridge Hardware. Keep up the good work.

To me they just had bad service

Let me tell you about my visit. I live in Austin Texas and I was visiting family in Alabama. During the duration of my stay the LED lightbulbs in the bathroom went out so being a nice house guest I decided to go purchase some new ones. As soon as I walked in the store I got weird glances from the store manager and then he went back to working on his laptop. No one asked me what I was looking for and when I tried to ask the store manager I was ignored by him. This upset me because I was going to spend money with this business and they didnt seem to care so I left. Customer care should be a number one priority to business especially smaller ones. From a business owner stand point I will not be coming back to Rocky Ridge Hardware during my visits to Alabama.

Every time I walk into this place there is someone asking if they can help me find something. And to date they have always had what i needed. Very friendly people.

The people that work here are super helpful and have gone out of their way to make sure that Im taken care of - ordering specialty items or just helping me find something random. I always shop here first and dont mind paying just a bit more for that hometown-friendly service.

This is what a hardware store was meant to be. They have everything you need plus great service.

Usually I do not leave reviews but I thought this needed to be addressed. When Ray owned the store there was nothing political about Rocky Ridge Hardware but these days a handful of the staff make me feel unwelcome because of my political stance in the community. If you dont fit a certain criteria do not shop here because you will be talked about behind your back.
