I would recommend giving this place a chance. I had a very friendly and personable experience with the owner and did not have any misunderstandings. Bought a unique pair of earrings, and almost everything was on sale. I will definitely come back next time Im in town!
I walked in this store to be treated horribly by a very rude older lady. She kept saying that everything was cluttered because she was about to close and that the back room was close. I left immediately, if she didn’t want customers she could’ve shut the door instead of mistreating people who were there 20min before closing.
I like this place. It has character. The owner may be rough around the edges, and I (like others, it appears), had a strange interaction with her around her mishearing something I said, but I choose not to take such things personally. I found some beautiful things in the shop, prices were decent, and ultimately I left more than satisfied. Wouldn’t the world be a much better place if we all had some grace for each other?
My partner and I (regretfully) visited other day. We were looking at the things for sale when a lady came out of the shadows and very abruptly said can I help you?. When I rejected her offer for help with a polite no she, bearing the hallmarks of a paranoid schizophrenic, accused me of insulting her. Considering I did not know this woman existed prior to our brief exchange and I held no ill will towards her, her accusation was quite absurd. My partner explained to her that I have a British accent so she may have misinterpretated something I said. I spent a good minute racking my brain for one word insults that sound remotely like no and, alas, I could think of none. I then spent a further five minutes glaring at my partner for trying to justify her bizarre allegation with an answer. The lady followed us around that god forsaken maze of forgotten, and dare I say cheap, heirlooms while making the strangest of comments. At one point she pointed to the back door and said something along the lines of it will be quicker if you leave that way. Never have I come across such blatant rudeness from a shop keeper/assistant. This shop is not worth your money or blood pressure, go somewhere else.
Edy, the owner, is ALWAYS SO very helpful when I come in and even offers to deliver my items for me! Over the last six months I have found the following AWESOME DEALS:*A Six (6) foot glass curio cabinet with a door that slides both ways and has six glass shelves;*A Wall curio cabinet framed in gold;*Fifteen (15) signed valuable paintings, which I plan to sell on eBay;*A three (3) foot solid teak statue of a beggar man from Germany in perfect condition;*A mid-sized red oriental rug for my kitchen area;*Three (3) lamps:*A Five (5) by Five (5) foot beveled mirror surrounded by 12 inch etchings of Italian scenes...very rare!*A cherry jewelry box on a cherry stand;*A gazillion LP records and books! And SO much more! I LOVE THAT PLACE!
This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The owner met us at the door and inquired how much we wanted for items that we were selling. When we stated our price, she laughedand motioned for us to leave as opposed to making a counter offer or simply stating that she would not be interested. We have never encountered such rude and unprofessional service.A one star rating is too high for this business.
Owner seemed displeased when my friend and I stopped in to visit. I saw there was a bin marked sale and i picked out a small sized pin that seemed pretty cheap. I asked her how much for it, and then she said it was 18$. I put it back down into the bin and she begged me to reconsider and buy it for 12$. No way!! She then tried to tell me and my friend we were pretty in an attempt to make us want to buy it. I started to try to leave and she continued to harass us on our way out for not buying it. I do not know how this place is still open considering how they are trying to rip people off, and they treat their customers HORRIBLY. Do not visit this place - you will feel very trapped and under pressure.
At first I thought it looked like a neat place.....until we got inside. Our first impression was being knocked over by the horrific smell of whatever candles they were burning. The smell just followed you everywhere. As we walked through the store we came to the quick conclusion that it was nothing but over priced junk. As we were leaving my daughter saw a little rock in a junk bead bin. We asked how much it was and the lady said shed give us a great deal on it claiming it was genuine marble (which it wasnt). She wanted $2.00 for a piece of junk no bigger than a mid sized piece of gravel trying to pass it off as something it clearly wasnt. If you want to brave the smells and have excess money to burn on junk... more power to you.
Lovely antiques. Everything is negotiable.
Some good finds, but furniture, at least, is pricey
Rude staff
Rudest store employees Ive ever dealt with.
