After not one but THREE horrifically botched salon experiences, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands fixing my horribly orange and patchy hair. Thank god for this store!!! Here I met my beautiful fairy-blonde-mother Sylvia! I knew as soon as I saw her perfectly toned ash blonde pixie cut and how confidently she directed other customers on which hair dye to buy that she knew what she was doing. She took her time, went above and beyond, and helped me achieve a beautiful blonde at home by myself! Without the salon! The experience of fixing my own hair was so empowering and healing for me and I couldn’t have done it without Sylvias help. Thank you!

Please don’t let the bad reviews scare you. Those previous employees mentioned are no longer there & the new employees now are WONDERFUL! They all welcomed me when I walked in, I was approached by two different employees asking if they could help me with anything. They were all very pleasant & friendly. Reviews definitely do matter. And this location deserves better reviews now. Let’s help them out!

I wrote a letter to the customer service email to try to get this issue resolved and to make them aware of how this store is being run. It’s probably the worst experience I have ever had at any Beauty Supply store. If there’s a supervisor, District Manager, anybody in charge in this company, I would like you to take a look at your sales associates of this store.Good afternoon Mr. Ms. District Manager,I had a terrible experience at the Sallys store 2913 in Mclean. I purchased a set of hair extensions 3 days ago, I ended up not needing them and I came with the unopened item and the original receipt to return them. The person that originally helped me in the store to choose the color and the brand was the store manager herself. I asked “is this going to be enough hair?” She said “well, you could buy two just in case you need it”. She never once said to me “Please remember that this item is Final sale” instead she encouraged me to buy another box. Thank god I didn’t listen to her!In addition to that, there are no signs anywhere inside the store showing that hair sales are final.I went back to try to get a refund for an unopened and unused box of hair extensions with my ORIGINAL RECEIPT and the store manager said “the item is final sale” and would not give me neither her name or a number to call custumer service directly to have the issue solved.On top of that, the other sales associate who was present (who I wasn’t even speaking to) comments “the final sales policy makes perfect sense because it’s hair. It’s obvious you can’t return it!” And continues to explain why I’m an idiot for not reading the receipt.She was extremely rude, belligerent and wasn’t trying to solve a situation that did not involve her in the first place. Instead of trying to help me (the customer), she’s busy verbally attacking me right in front of the store manager who did not stop her.I asked for contact information for a district manager or an 1800 number that’s I could call and share my experience with the sale, the customer service and my overall experience with the store and the store manager said “sorry, I can’t give you neither my name nor my boss information.”Since I have no name, I have to describe them physically. Latina/ Spanish speaking, with medium length hair, bleached with greenish accents. She’s about 5’2 and slightly heavy set. The other sales associate who was being rude and instigating was Caucasian, older, likely mid 50s with blonde hair.I would like to get a personal call or an email regarding this situation. This is more than just about the return, it’s about your sales associates verbally attacking your customers instead of trying to resolve a situation.It’s very upsetting that I couldn’t get the issue resolved and on top of that I don’t get offered any other alternatives to a contact number to a supervisor or person in charge.Sincerely,ScarlettSent from my iPhone

Horrible customer service, they didnt accept to exchange a wrong hair color number which I bought from them just before one day ago (It still unopened/unused in its original package).Ill do my business with Amazon only. and Never come back to Sally Beauty cheap business.

I asked a lady yesterday (which Im guessing is the manager now because employees told me that today.) to help me find a copper red. On the box it said for dark hair only, I wanted to clarify if I needed to bleach my hair or not because I had medium dark red hair. She said yes you do if you want to get a lighter redish color. I bleached my hair, once it was ready to apply color. I did a tiny bit of color to do a sample, the color on my hair was bright carrot orange. Clearly not what I wanted. I have some stuff I need to return because I have not open the other boxes or the products I have. They say they are not accepting returns. Well why would I want to keep supplies I didnt use especially if its not the right hair color she told me to get. The Manager told me yesterday I could return them. But today employees told me Well we are not the manager and we will not be accepting your returns. I dont even know if its worth it to go back to see the manager on Tuesday because this store is just full with a whole bunch of ignorant liars. I always hated shopping at Sallys because its never what I want and Im tired of spending so much money for stuff I didnt like and cant even return. Yesterday was the last day I bought anything from Sallys. If could rate 0 or negative I would.

Really small and lacks materials, products mostly to for white people hair, and they dont seem to have wigs and not a lot of hair for braiding or extensions, also no combs such as picks or brushes such as the Denman brush that usually suits afro hair, not surprised but yeah kinda frustrating since there are typically salons in this area and no beauty supply stores (again not shocked since theres most white and Asian ppl)

Got to the store 4 minutes to close, know exactly what I wanted. 2 ladies standing at the front door watching me try to open the door tell me yeah were ready to go and denied me entry. Regardless if I get there at 9 am or 8:59 pm, until your posted hours are met, my business is welcome, or it should be. Kathy, Cathy, Kathie, however you spell it, terrible managerial skills. Disappointed because I never experience this no matter what state I go to a Sallys in - New York, Maryland or Fair Lakes, VA.

Today I had my worst customer service experience ever, I went for online return products, having my receipt and all products,,, they couldn’t do it and take me over an hour!!! and 3 of them playing with me each time I asked why it takes so long and what’s happening,,,, firt Spanish lady said oh you don’t pay tax when it is online purches and I showed her the tax I paid online so doesn’t make any sense what she is saying,, the second lady comes to try to fix it acting super mean and wired, doing very wierd movements with her hand and eyes witch make me feel very uncomfortable, I was returning only $40 but she check each product like more than 4 times, and look at me like it’s something wrong so I ask her is something wrong?? And she answered in very offensive tone Ma’am I got this, I was witnessing how they are doing all wrong, going over and over again in register machine and with hand calculator,,, so the third one comes and I told her Iam here more than 50 minutes to do simple online return why it’s take so long, I asked more than 4 times to call customer service so they can help you but they ignored it this transaction should take 2 minutes like everywhere else,, so while she was pointing me with pen answered very rude and loud this is what it is if you don’t like it don’t buy from us,,our system has issue and you have to understand. I felt so offended I can’t believe it happened to me for simple return,,,They end up returning less money that they should (Kathy Spanish lady who call her self store manager is so mean and rude she has no idea about customer service rules and respecting rights,,, the other oldwe lady acting wierd, to me she smell like alcohol,,, I never go back to that store again, you give them business and they disrespect you making you feel uncomfortable! should be all opposed, they should be grateful for our business But instead of being nice trying to keep customers happy explaining the problem they pointing me with pen when nothing is your fault!should the store manager talk and treat customers this way???please check all reviews in google and yelp and will see there is similar complaints and discontents)

Poor customer service. I bought a blow dryer and returned it 3 days later with the original receipt and box and everything intact, however I lost the original debit card. The manager told me to come back when they mail me a new card, but I didnt get a new card until 2.5 weeks later. Never got my money back! Im pissed. 😡

Sub par. Customer service kinda disappointing. Was overcharged by $50 and didnt receive so much as an apology when I drove from Alexandria to get reimbursed. Manners carry weight.
