Twice now I have been during store hours only to find the place closed and no one inside. This place never appears to open on time. Never sure if will be open or closed so don’t frequent often and go to another more reliable establishment.
The blizzards were great but the atmosphere and staff were a little unfriendly. In all fairness we went at 10:30pm so I understand it had been a long day. If your just looking for good old classic dairy queen i would go.
Soft serve was melted and the flavor was off. Service was extremely slow. Would not recommend. B&Js down the street or Ritas nearby are superior options.
Love the blizzards! So glad to see the new Mini size on the menu, which is the perfect decadent 6 oz sweet treat! It can be overwhelming to choose from so many chocolatey flavors - Brownie blizzard, Brownie Batter, Chocolate Extreme...whats the difference? Some of the special monthly flavors like the Hot Cocoa Oreo is simply vanilla and chocolate soft serve twist blended with Oreos, nothing really special. The Brownie Batter blizzard with brownie bites and brownie dough was heavenly. I wish I hadnt opted to add the Cookie Dough bites for $1 extra, which tasted stale and ended up picking them out. Service was great as the Indian lady patiently made this request. The classic Oreo blizzard is fine but nothing particularly memorable and definitely prefer the Brownie Batter blizzard! Will be returning and may venture to a new Royal blizzard with a rich fudge filling or try a chocolate dipped cone!
I think this store needs to adjust their hours. We were here at 11:58 am so we waited for it to open during the posted hours (12-11 pm every day). It’s 12:10 and still not open. One of the neighboring store associates came outside to let me know that whoever opens normally doesn’t arrive until 12:30 or later, so I didn’t waste my time. Going elsewhere to get my son a treat.
Great customer service! Just the thing to help cool off from the heat
Service was slow, blizzard was melted, and the place smelled funky. I will not be returning to this location, better options elsewhere.
I just bought a blizzard at the Dairy Queen in Vienna Virginia. The ice cream was Sour an inedible. I will never frequent Dairy Queen again.
The ice cream was melted and off. Not sure why, but will give it another shot soon. But the service was fine.
✍️Soft-serve ice cream served with indifference in my opinion and experience. At the end of the small strip center Vienna Plaza next to Trousseau parking is often challenging and interior floor plan design has no flow. I only go on off hours. Never on weekend days and I only order chocolate sundae. I don’t care for any of the other DQ products. Having Ben and Jerry’s short distance up the street I have lessened visits to DQ at about 4 to 1 ratio. There is plenty of business for everyone in densely populated Vienna zone. Cold Stone is a bit further up the street from B&J’s. Three styles of ice cream evenly spaced on same side of Maple Ave. I stopped by DQ for chocolate sundae 2 days ago in late afternoon and only customer there at that moment which was my first visit since start of pandemic shutdown. Now, at reopening, there is the added challenge of serving under social distancing conditions.
So glad to see this place ❤️
Good ice cream, clean for fast food and nice workers.
Great Dairy Queen with long time friendly owners. Good amount of fixings in their blizzards.
Yes understaffed, but still great service, many people were in line, and a guy was working alone on a Sunday afternoon, didn’t seem stressed, or angry, he kept professional, smile on face when he greets customers, did his best to prepare the orders! ‘Summer berry cheesecake’ that’s what we got, quite mouthful, yet delicious!!! Will come back for more! Thanks for being the DQ!
Good places for ice cream
Great ice cream and really awesome staff. Really a great little gem within Vienna.
No one there at their posted opening time on a Saturday. Very disappointing.
Needs a remodel. The ice cream didn’t taste right to me either. It was icy kinda like frozen yogurt, not creamy like it should be.
Sita is always wonderful and she makes you feel like an old friend! Will always go here over any other ice cream shop in Vienna
Always excellent ice cream, they also are not crowded and setup for social distancing
The ice cream tasted okay but it started melting before I had even left the store and once I was outside it quickly turned into soup.
My blizzard came more than half melted and they didn’t try to flip it upside down to show it was fine or remake it when they saw it was melted
For starters, To the manager of this specific store, please hire people who speak at least a little bit of English. Enough English to understand people’s orders. I ordered a “twisty misty” I got a cup of syrup. Um... EW! She couldn’t understand anything I was saying and vice versa. Not to mention the fact after her repeating herself a hundred times that I finally understood her telling me that she doesn’t know how to make it. 0/10 Do not recommended this store.
Great service, always friendly! Open late for those after dark ice cream hankerings.
The owner, Sita, is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. Always asking about our family and how everyone is doing. Oh...and ice cream is fantastic. Our fav DQ!
I use to work at a Dairy Queen, and when I first came to this restaurant I was honestly really disappointed.HOWEVER, my wife and I went back to give it a second chance and they have really improved. The quality was just shy of Corporate’s Ideal. We also got more than we should have (by corporate’s standards), which is good for us customers.Down sides:The building is small, so they don’t have room for equipment for food, so they only do treats. They are understaffed, so if you go when they get busy, you will be waiting for a while and the quality becomes a little bit sloppier. Also when they aren’t busy, they (at least the lady I have always seen there) tend to take their time on orders.I only know that because again, I use to work for a Dairy Queen. The less-than-a-minute orders take a bit over a minute, and the 5-10 minute orders take about 10-20 minutes. Not super slow, but slower than they should be.SUMMARY:Almost as good as it possibly can be.Sadly they don’t have food.Recommended by a former Dairy Queen employee (not the same DQ).
One of the workers hair wasn’t pulled back but the ice cream was good (:
Worst Dairy Queen I’ve ever been to. The diary queen we went to in Vienna, VA we specifically went to in order to purchase the new sour patch kids gummy blizzard. The lady didn’t have it & was so rude about it. I was intending on purchasing 7 blizzards. Then, she refused to quickly wash the mixer for two of my friend’s children who have gluten allergies... making the kids mix their own blizzards (besides us, there were only two other customers in the shop). Then- I asked for water and she refused. Upright refused to give us ice water, wanting us to purchase bottled water. THEN, denied our one coupon we had claiming she didn’t have a scanner. I mean- the whole establishment was a mess. From dirty, dirty walls and an unkept bathroom to a nasty woman at the counter- we will not be going back. I mean, blizzards are supposed to be wonderful, ice cream is so happy... but this lady somehow rises up to the challenge to make it terrible.
Great dairy queen restaurant in vienna. Be advised that they are sealing the parking lot today so you will have to enter at the southern entrance. This detracted from business today so there were only a couple people there when we arrived. Quick and delicious treats. The flip of the blizzard never lets me down. I love this place!
Fair, Ritas was closed for vacation; so we took the kids here.
Great first visit. Nice mom & pop feel.
Amazing service! This was the only Dairy Queen between my office and Childrens National in DC. My son is a patient there and really wanted a Blizzard. The staff packed his Blizzard in ice so it would make the 40 min drive in rush hour traffic without melting. He was so excited to have a nice cold treat. It arrived still frozen. I cant express enough how great the staff here is!
Dairy Queen sweet treats but no hot food. Good but hot spot in town for ice cream! Sometimes lines for long time because the staff is smaller than your average Dairy Queen. Still yummy and great local in Vienna.
Very tasty and quick. Definitely recommend
Many years at this location, what you would expect from a Dairy Queen.
Always good! Friendly atmosphere.
Love the chocolate dipped vanilla cone. My only concern is that a napkin should be used the entire time that the employee place their hands on the cone or they should use gloves. Reason being is the cone is something that the person will eat.
Smelled like bleach and had one employee working on a Saturday night. Would not recommend.
Clean and well stocked.
Great service and friendly staff. Lines can get long especially in the evening, but its a great spot to get a frozen treat.
Great ice cream at a decent price. We always enjoy the Blizzard flip.
Great choices and flavors of addons to the soft serve ice cream. I always enjoy my visit the family who owns the store.
Good ice cream
Great service.
I wanted a vanilla ice cream in a cup with sprinkles, and the woman wanted to charge me like $6 because she called it a “sundae”. You better watch these people, they seem like the scammy type. There also seemed to be a lot of family drama between the workers here.
Always seems to take forever
One of the nicest, cleanest and friendliest Dairy Queens Ive been to in a very, very long time
The store was dead and the cashier still didnt get off her phone to attend us, instead she sent her 8 year old daughter to take down our order and charge us... umm arent there child labor laws??? Worst service ever, will not be coming back.
Good value / great ice cream
Love the soft ice cream. Good place to take your kids.
Been there two times in two days. I have been enjoying the Blizzards very much.
Good
Went with my family since wife was craving for some blizzard... it was no good. Ice cream and few crumbs blended together and she didnt even put the cup upside down lol afraid it was gonna fall off. We got overcharged and cashier got mad at us for asking why it was $18 for 1 sm blizzard, 2 m cones, and 1 l cone. Poor service. Please was really well maintained though. Never coming back again. If you do make sure ask total before paying !
This DQ serves treats only, no savory lunch or dinner food. The Royal Blizzard shake I ordered was not really thick enough compared to the other DQ locations... The utilities seem old and the stores general appearance is not very fresh.
Nothing else is DQ!! Vienna store always clean, with great counter service.
The chocolate in my s’mores blizzard was definitely stale, but the owner was so sweet she gets an extra star than that concoction deserved
Sweet ice cream and a even sweeter staff!
Omg the women so sleppy and she didnt wear the Uniform and she dont realy understand any thing that i say i will never come back agin !!!!!!!!!
Always friendly and great treats.
I tried their ice cream and I didnt like it. The place is clean and well maintained.
Its good. Very busy and needs to hire more staff
Needs some updating and a good cleaning
Wasnt open at opening time posted on door, there wasnt even anybody inside setting up.
Yummy ice cream but under- staffed
I love soft serve
Friendly service and very clean.
I drove out of my way to stop and get a gift card for my nephews birthday and they werent open during their published hours.
Always tasty ice cream.
Its gotten pretty pricey for what your getting. Ice cream didnt have any flavor.
What can I add. Its Dairy Queen.
Great place for a sweet treat.
Used to be a childhood favorite but has really gone down in flavor and quality.
Always a quick good stop
Love blizzards.
You come here for the ice cream. The food here is alright.
Love it
Slow. HOT in the building!
Slow and didnt get order correct.
Consistent great service
Love the treats!
