Our home was treated with chemicals by another company which caused damage to multiple cabinets. Dale came out and replaced some spots and repaired others. What was most admirable about Dale, was his ability to find creative ways to resolve our problem, to keep the costs low for the other company, while addressing our issue.I was so impressed I asked him to fix another cabinet not damaged by the company, which he did for a reasonable price.Dale was respectful of our situation, provided exceptional service, and even gave advice on some other problems we have. We highly recommend his company.

I cant stop raving enough about Dale Decker, I see why they call him the Furniture Medic! He restored the bedroom furniture and dining table and chairs. The were chipped, scratched, and it really ruined the look of the furniture. I called over 10 places in the VA Beach area and I managed to run into one of the best! Grateful for Dale saving the day! We really loved our leather couch and loveseat but, after 10 years, it was definitely not firm and new-looking anymore. Dale came and added stuffing as well as reinforcing the strapping so that it can keep going for another ten years! Great way to maximize your investment in expensive furniture. He and his nephew did the repairs in our home so it was super convenient, too. Would highly recommend!

We had a 60 year old maple childrens table and chairs refinished by LeeAnn. These pieces turned out so well - lovely color with the wood grain beautifully revealed. I am very pleased with Furniture Medic. I made an inquiry for a bed frame repair using their online form, and Dail Dekker (owner) responded to my inquiry within an hour via email. Dekker requested I send pictures of the broken frame, which I sent. Dekker provided a couple options we could take to repair the bed frame, and was very upfront and candid about the services he could provide and the cost. Repair cost was very reasonable, and based on Dekker’s recommendations, our bed frame is in the process of being repaired. I highly recommend Furniture Medic and will keep them in mind for future furniture repair needs.

Right away Dail reached out and gave me a quote based on photos I sent him. Got an appointment a week out and today he came and repaired my armoire cabinet. It was structurally in rough shape and needed a lot of paint work evening out layers of glossy paint from poor touch up jobs as well as fixing imperfections. Dail not only was kind and professional, the quality of the work he did repairing this piece of furniture in just an hour and a half was amazing. To replace this piece would have cost well over $1,000 for something similar but Dail restored it basically 90% of its glory for only like 20% of the cost. Would absolutely recommend!!!!

Dail returned my call and we set a date for pick up of my broken China cabinet. He and Tim went the extra mile to pack up my cabinet so as the safe for loading. Expected repair time was 6 weeks and received it back in 3. Cabinet was well-repaired and looks great. While I sat across the room masked they reassembled my cabinet and cleaned the glass. Here in lies the problem. As they left I inspected the cabinet and drawers and then it hit me. My entire cabinet wreaks of cigarette smoke. When u open the glass doors it’s like walking into a bar in the 80’s. Dail is a heavy smoker as he smelled of cigarettes heavily too. I contacted Dail immediately and he told me to wipe down with white vinegar and water mix. I have since done that three times, cleaned with lemon Lysol wipes and sprayed with Lysol and my cabinet still stinks. I don’t want to put my families China or table cloths etc... in it or they’ll all have to be washed before use. Very disappointed that I have a beautiful China cabinet that stinks of cigarettes and my fear is that the smell is trapped in the paint and it will never dicipate so in the meantime it sits empty. My wife and I are very disappointed to say the least.

Dail and his assistant Mitch came and repaired my leather recliner, an old dresser drawer, and a dining room chair for me. They were professional, tidy, and on-time. It did not take them long to do the repairs and they did a wonderful job on all 3 pieces. They also checked my other recliner to make sure it did not have same issue as my broken one and they even tightened everything up on that recliner as well. I definitely recommend them. I think the price was very reasonable and it saved me from having to replace any furniture.

Very, very happy. My Italian leather Nutuzzi couch needed two seats reupholstered, the recline mechanism replaced, and some cosmetic touch ups completed. Setting up the consult and getting the work scheduled went quickly. The work was completed in my home. Absolutely superb workmanship plus clean, careful,and friendly. I would highly recommend for any leather repair.

If I could give them a 10 I would! He came to my home with another gentlemen for the job. I not THEM was late! I communicated to them I was in some bad traffic and HE thanked ME for the communication updates and patiently waited. They BOTH were so patient and courteous and understandimg. They repaired damage to my formal dining room set caused by the tornado in Virginia Beach. The damage was splattery and scratchy for lack of better words. They also repaired some water stain damage. Talk about phenomenal work. I literally couldnt stop staring at how beautiful it was when they finished. They are professional, courteous, and does awesome, awesome work. I had Furniture Medic restore some expensive cabinets that my dogs decided to chew. I thought the damage was irreparable but Furniture Medic was able to make the cabinets look like new. The service was timely, well done, and gentleman doing the work where very pleasant and professional. I would recommend them to anyone needing furniture repair of any type.

We had a dresser get damaged in a move. The back was coming apart, the drawers were not sitting correctly and the bottom drawer was getting stuck. He came in with his assistant and they had it fixed in less than an hour! Wed postponed getting it fixed because we were concerned about what the cost might be but ended up being charged a very fair amount. Wed recommend them again in a heartbeat!

Poor customer communication. Im sure the quality of his work is superb, but if things go wrong this is not the type of person I would want to deal with it. Im not sure what hes saying I failed to mention. Its all below:He had an issue with the fact I had to cancel an appointment twice. The first time was over 24 hours notice. At no point did he raise any issue with cancelling before or after. The second time was admittedly short notice. My flight was delayed by several hours and there were no other connecting flights home. I would not make it home that day. He told me I could reschedule on at least two occasions after that. When I called again to setup an appointment, he refused, was very curt, and hung up on me before I had a chance to say much.I get that my cancellation inconvenienced him and Im sorry for that. I get that its his right to refuse business. However, you cant lie to someone that they can reschedule then refuse and hang up on them without alientating them. This demonstrates his lack of professionalism when dealing with conflict and is why I would not want to deal with him if something went wrong with the repair.A professional should outline their cancellation policies up front with the customer and not surprise them with it, or at least provide the courtesy of a last chance warning after the first cancellation. I wish he had communicated his issues instead of setting false expectations.This is the first time Ive felt compelled to leave a business review. Ive used furniture repair services before, but Ive never encountered this kind of attitude.

First, let me begin with I always read reviews before determining which company to use for anything I need assistance with. I was pleased with the reviews I read from Furniture Medic, so I made the call and spoke to Dail and made my appointment. My German grandfathers clock and curio were damaged in a move, Dail and Mitch came to my home did their magic and now my items look the way they did when I bought them 20+ years ago. I was so happy with the work they did and the cost of the repairs tears came to my eyes. Very, very professional and YES, I would recommend them to everyone I know. Never will go back to them waited weeks for My ideam. They didnt do what I asked for. I wish would called me told me they couldnt do it. They made look worse and burnt a area on my ideam. Then keep changing there storey. Its not even done out a building at house. Not at all what I wanted.

Military family, just moved to area. My wifes heirloom antique grandfather clock was extensively damaged in government shipment. Luckily for us, Furniture Medic was assigned to asses the damage & make repairs. They arranged for the clock works to be removed & repaired by local craftsman & repaired the damage cabinet onsite. Military family here. We had a pretty lousy moving team and they lost our parts box. Just 3 temps that didnt want to have to put together our stuff when they got to our new house. So there was furniture that couldnt be put together without the parts and there was also some noticeable damage to the stairs and the staircase wall. The military sent Dale out to fix everything and the one most important thing was that Dale TREATED ALL OF OUR STUFF LIKE IT WAS HIS OWN. He could not have been more courteous and careful and he makes it feel like you have a friend doing the repairs. Dail and Charlie showed up on time with smiles, a nice change from the looks my wife had been giving me since her new dresser was scratched during our move. Dail came in and did a wonderful job with the repair making my wife happy and taking the pressure off of me.
