I drove our family moving van into the shop with one of our brake calipers seizing and smoking from a trip from NC. Dave was able to make room in the shop, get the van inspected, fixed and out the door in about 2 1/2 hours, allowing is to complete our trip back to NC safely. He even worked the bill to try and give us the most discounts and savings available to us. Definitely will be going back there for my future vehicle needs.

Ok so on Thursday I bought a used car made the mistake of not popping the hood. Took the car into tune up plus for a tune up, oil change, and an alignment only to find out that there was so much wrong with the car. I had very little money on me so David helped me get financing to get the work done it took a few hrs. And the guys all where so great I left the shop yesterday but had to bring the car back today again David was wonderful they fixed the problem free of charge.

The service is outstanding, informative and helpful. Ive been taking my truck there since I found it three years ago. Im pretty sure there labor per hour is 125.00. When the lowest around virginia beach is 80.00. Unless you got money like that, I would suggest you take it somehow else. We should be able to get honest and integrity for 80.00 an hour.

I dropped my car there at 8 am for a state inspection. The lady at the front said the guy won’t be in until 1030 and that I was second in line. I returned at 4:30 pm and the guy up front had no clue that I dropped my car off. He was so nonchalant and said they’ll keep it overnight and possibly have it ready the next day. This is not the first time we had issues with these people. The guy upfront was disrespectful to my wife in the past as well. Both of us are active duty so them having a huge sign for veterans is disgraceful and they should take it down.

Did not have a great experience with them they seem to be money hungry and recommend service that would cost $10 but they wanted to charge $130 I told them not to do it I’m good and then they lowered the price to $100 I told them I will do it my self thank you again cost would be $10 for a bottle of power steering fluid they then dropped price to $80 final offer went to autozone got a bottle about 12 with tax did myself took less then an hr done.

Tune up plus is a great auto shop, I came here with multiple problems on my vehicle and everything is completely fix . When I first walked in I notice David and Lei great customer services. David made me feel comfortable in the waiting area and help me on the discounts with my service. Lei is a great hard working mechanic, he explained everything to me correctly and it was easy for me to understand. They both played there part with the best customer services and best mechanic. I took my mothers vehicle there not too long ago to have her inner door handle replaced and it was way more trouble than anyone anticipated. David (the owner) was honest from start to finish about what was going on. My mom has a Mazda Tribute that the company stopped making parts for and Auto Zone carries the part needed, which you have to order, but the piece to lock it in is too small compared to the original model! David literally ran over to Auto Zone where I was about to purchase the part and told them that it wouldnt fit my moms vehicle since he had a chance to see the part before I went to pay for it. He then referred me to the Ford dealership to possibly have the part and they sure did, only 2 in the whole U.S.!! One part was in INDIANA, and the other was god even knows! I got them to order the part which took about a week to arrive and took my moms truck back to Dave to finally get the job done. David kept his word that I wouldnt have to pay for the work to be done again b/c I already paid the time before when we found out the door handle couldnt be fixed. Had her truck done and ready in no time and even drove it up to the front as a courtesy!! Best experience EVER for all the trouble this truck put us through and what seemed to be an almost impossible mission!! I recommend them to anyone looking for people that are HONEST and GET THE JOB DONE!! I will definitely be coming back if I need work done on any of my vehicles, I know I can trust those guys! I was highly impressed with how easy it was to do business here. David is super helpful and efficient. I was quoted about a third of what the dealership was looking to charge me and less than half of another local shop. The customer service and communication were stellar. I always felt kept in the loop. I won’t go anywhere else.I had a known issue that was not an emergency. I brought my car in for an inspection and was impressed by the honesty when I was told...this is the issue but you won’t fail inspection. I asked how much to fix it? I was assured again that it did not need to be fixed to pass inspection. I asked again and was almost apologetically told it would be expensive and was given a rate about half of my lowest quote...I’d been checking around and I was like....SOLD!!!! David worked with me to get my car fixed as soon as possible and was actually sorry and called me immediately when he realized it would take a bit longer than he thought!

Two of our sons take their vehicles to Tune Up Plus so when we were working out transportation details they both said Take the car to Tune Up they forgot the Plus part. So we did. They did a super quick job on our Honda so we decided to pick up our car and leave our truck. Talked to Dave about a tune up for my 2011 Chrysler 300 Limited, he gave me a price quote that was very reasonable after starting the job Dave informed my wife of a possible issue with the ignition coils 4 of the 6 were weak and could present a problem later that I would have to pay for labor again to remove the manifold, suggested that i fix the problem now. I appreciate the honesty and again will bring my other vehicles for him to service. I highly recommend this business very professional and caring.

The General Manager is a rockstar. He was handling so many tasks at once but i never felt as though he wasnt giving me 100% of his effort. My car was done faster and better than the other places I almost went to. The staff here is on a mission.

We come here regularly. Service is fast and affordable. Dave is awesome and I can literally call with an issue and can take my car over the same day and pick it up same day....HOWEVER ON A VERY DIFFICULT DAY...These people showed me so much grace...Kim was in the day I needed an oil change and needed to get home to Pennsylvania quickly and safely. We had a death in th family and we were noticeable anxious. She got me in and out, she made sure the tech had us topped off. The tech was so gracious also, he let me know everything he did. We got there and back safely. I lOVE this place becasue they do not hestitate to PUT PEOPLE FIRST.

At the recommendation of a friend I made an appointment for an oil change and a repair. My car was taken in right away and I was given an estimate. They found something else that needed to be done and showed me why. It made sense so I authorized the repairs. Customer service was fantastic and my car is riding so much better! Our vehicle broke down in the middle of a hotshot run. I pulled in to the tune ups plus unexpected, they got me right in. My truck was not throwing codes it just would not perform. The mechanic(Lee) diagnosed the problem correctly and got my wife, daughter & I back on the road by the end of business. There was a whole team there that pitched in to get things going I just can not remember anyone’s name off the top so I apologize fellas, however I would like to thank you all again for the help. I would recommend this shop to anyone, local or out of towner. I am from Denver Colorado and felt as if I were back home. Thanks to them I am on my way home.

Every time I take my vehicle in, I am treated with courtesy and respect. As a woman, I have been to a lot of car shops where I feel like they take advantage of me. Tune Up on Indian River is the complete opposite. They listen to what I think is wrong with my car and actually care about my concerns and safety. Would recommend!

I called a few days before coming in and was told the best time to come in for a state inspection is 7:30 am when they open as they do not take appointments. I got there around 8 am and they took my car back relatively quickly (within about 15 minutes) and began the process. I was told my car needed 2 lights fixed (guiding lights above the headlights?) and that was the only thing that was going to fail me. I was also told my engine air filter was dirty and my engine basically needed to be flushed because my oil was caked on there pretty badly, which apparently you are supposed to do every 30k and my car is at almost 55k. Whoops. But he did say it didnt need to be done for inspection. I still opted to do it anyways. I asked him if they were open on weekends and how long a fail sticker was good for so I could get it fixed and he looked at me shocked and asked me if I was wanting to fail it. I thought Id have to come back to get it fixed! He was going to do it right then and there!! So I ran next door to the conveniently located Auto Zone per the general managers instructions and bought an air filter. Within an hour and a half everything was complete and I IMMEDIATELY noticed my car was running smoother. The boss was super sweet, caring, and went above and beyond. He even gave me his personal business card in case I ever go elsewhere and they quote me too high that hed give me an honest quote. I feel like lately it has been so hard to find excellent customer service and I am so happy I stumbled upon this gem of a car shop. Will DEFINITELY be back!

These other reviews do no justice.I experienced Great service the best car work/care experience ever actually. Called at 9am and they referred Steves towing, which showed up quick within 30 minutes. Once my vehicle was there they called me a couple hours later with a solid diagnostic and said it would be ready by 3 to just come pick up. I did, very professional and knowledgeable, they fixed the major issue for under 300. I am amazed by affordability, and how quick. I called 5 so called mobile mechanics and got all excuses and a no response. Im glad none of them wanted the work cause I found tune up plus. My experience was great and I will be taking all my vehicles here. Thanks guys.

I was SUPER Impressed by the service offered at this facility. My brakes locked up right outside of this location and I couldnt have broken down in front of a better place honestly. Not only did they get my truck in right away but they fixed everything needed in 4 hours. The credit program they have is a true life safer. I had an amazing experience at Tune Up Plus strongly due to the professionalism and knowledge of their General Manager David Cerulli.I obtained a few different estimates prior to deciding on this location. I have a 2007 Ford F-150 that has a known issues where the spark plugs break upon removal and causes extensive labor hours. One location wanted me to sign a waiver that I would be charged an additional $145.00/hr for every spark plug that breaks and I would have no warranty on the repairs.After talking with David and listening to him display his knowledge with confidence in the ability to remove the spark plugs from my truck I decided to have Tune Up plus repair my truck.David went above and beyond with the repairs. I have had my truck back for about two weeks and it runs like new.In addition I had my A/C charged, oil changed, and a number of other routine maintenance items completed.Thank you for taking the time to walk me through step by step and especially for the fair cost for the repairs you completed. I’ll be a returning customer.

I came to this location to get a problem fixed From another tune up plus location. I was so frustrated and was crying the general manager David cerulli helped and listened. The last location with a T. Thompson at the Gainsborough location was unprofessional unempathic and didnt even care. I had work done to my 2001 Grand AM yesterday here at this location. I feel in my spirit the need to tell everybody just how wonderful I was treated. I spent a lot of money and the young lady that operates that location walked me through every dime I spent. i was amazed at what this lady was telling me because I had just been somewhere else. I tell you if you are not at Tune up Plus you are making a mistake. Its hard to find good, honest, caring people. It took me 75 years to find it so I know. That shop is outstanding!!!

I would definitely reccomend Tune Up Plus Va Beach. I went in for a tune up and they were very inexpensive. I was having issues with my window being off track for a few months. Later on that night, my window fell completely. I called David the next day, as soon as they opened, and he told me to bring my car in and they’ll take care of it. I was dreading spending more money on a window regulator and motor. Luckily all that was missing was a bolt. Thankfully they were honest and great people and told me exactly what happened. They fixed my window in 15 minutes and saved me a couple hundred dollars !!

I went to this shop because my husband had been there previously with a different vehicle and he felt this was a good place to go. I went in to the shop knowing that I needed a new gasket seal. I also requested they check out everything else to see if I needed anything else corrected. Mr. Cerulli was very nice and informative. He chatted with me and answered all my questions. He let me know that I needed my power steering fluid flushed and he even let me see the old dirty fluid as they pumped it out versus the new clean fluid. I left feeling like I had a good honest experience.

I frequented this establishment for years because I always got the $19 price for the oil change. Since I rarely drive my Honda, its been a while since Ive needed an oil change but I stopped by this weekend to get one. They were booked up and said I should come back another day. Fine, weekends can be busy, no big deal. So I made an appointment for 1:30 today and showed up a few minutes early. He said he couldnt take me. I said I have an appointment. So he said he would personally do it if I came back at 3 today. I showed back up a few minutes before 3. I asked for my normal $19 oil change. He said that my Honda will need the oil change that starts at $50. I insisted that I only ever pay $19. Its on the flipping sign out front, $18.99 oil change. He claimed that wasnt possible. So I left.

Great place. i work for a company and this is were my boss had me take the vehicle to get fixed. the mechanics were very knowledgable and the manager was very pleasant and up front about pricing. once i called my boss and got authorazation they went right to work and got the new power steering pump and wires installed. after a test drive and giving me a run down on everything i was back on the road headed to work. i was very pleased and will be bringing all my personal vehicles here as well thanks to everyone for the knowledge and getting my boss van fixed.

Very quick and easy process, my wife and I only have 1 vehicle, and every place was requiring 4-6 hours to inspect our SUV. From start to finish was about 20 minutes, thanks Tune up plus, you will have my business from now on!

Outstanding mechanics, outstanding service, went there today to get a low beam headlight replaced and the mechanic finished it in less than 2 minutes. The mechanics were very friendly and approachable. I will be coming back to this location to get a few more things fixed, and I recommend this place to anyone wishing to get work done on their vehicle at this particular location. I drove all the way from Virginia Beach to come to their shop, and I will be driving back to get other work done on my car very soon. On a scale from 0-10 I give them a 10+.

You know when you were little and you saw your uncle or father working on a car. And he signal you over to show what he was doing and how important it is to know? Well with that same family experience the guys here are just that. Always friendly, always available to not just say what is wrong but to show you what they are doing. I came in for a simple inspection and oil change. The car was running perfectly, no problems at all. I explained that this is a very old car, a 99 Toyota, so lets please please go easy. People with old cars cannot afford a new car and cannot afford hundreds of dollars in repairs every time we walk through a door, and too many garages just want to knock us over the head every chance they get. This place was no different. I wont be coming back, and Im still looking for a new regular garage that will work with me. 😡

Never trust these people! They failed my cars inspection for ripped control arm bushings, and a rusted hole in the floor. I went to fix it and the bushings were just fine, but they failed to notice the wheel was almost falling off due to a bad wheel bearing, my son could have done a better inspection and hes 2 months old. To only make the situation better, I brought it back for a re-inspection and they left my car outside overnight, in the pouring rain, with the windows down. They told me now its failing for headlight aim and a battery hold down. I never heard about the headlight aim the first time.. The manager has the audacity to tell me he thought I was coming to pick it up so he left the windows down. They never thought to close them when they left. Bottom line is this company doesnt care about you, your car, or anything except money. Ill never take my car back there, I advise ANYBODY reading this to stay clear of this shop! Its a scam of a business and should have been shut down long ago!

Cant say enough bad things about this place! thought Id try it out for an inspection not expecting much as I have 0 trust in state inspection but they took it to a whole new level. Failed me for a license plate light that fell out of its sockets, which Im sure they pulled out. Took 2 seconds to twist it back in. Also said my battery box was loose! apparently thats a thing. SO SO SO sorry not over complicating and ratcheting it down last I pulled it out. Said it needed to be pulled drilled and tapped. ITS A PLASTIC CLIP!!!! The best was the missing lug nut hit they gave me. I just had their buddies next door put tires on and I guess they grew legs in about 20 feet from one shop door to another. SCAM SCAM Just insulting no other way to explain it. If thats the garbage they try on an adult male cant imagine what they tell Grandma. Ill do my best to warn people of this junk business.

I came in with a Groupon for an oil change, and Im so glad I did! I felt there was something wrong with my suspension, and Rob (mechanic) mentioned it to me (without me saying anything first) and showed me exactly what was going on. Justin was very awesome about getting me an appointment and getting the work done timely and very reasonably priced. These guys are very salt of the earth types who dont hand you a line of bull and give great service and very fair prices. I will be using them from now on for all my auto service needs.

I have to give Tune Up Plus two thumbs up. First of all its Labor Day, these guys were still handling business with great customer service. I needed an inspection which they handled with no issue. I dropped my car off and they gave me a buzz to let me know the progress and what time to pick it up. DO NOT trust this shop with anything other than safety inspections, they are complete crooks and tried to sell me over $600 worth of maintenance service that I didnt need.My vehicle needed a safety inspection asap and my regular mechanic didnt having any availability until the following week. I googled the nearest place to my home that did safety inspections, Tune Up Plus came up.I dropped my car off at 8:30 am, I was told it would be competed by 12;30 at the latest. I called around 2 pm, it was still not done, she said it would be done in 15 minutes; (which means it had been sitting there all that time and was not completed in a timely manner because I didnt wait in the lobby.) I received a phone call from a male 20 minutes later informing me that my car needed some serious maintenance, (transmission flush, power steering flush, brake lines flush, new brake pads, fuel injection cleaning, and overall 90,000 mile factory recommended tune-up) the fluids looked terrible and probably had never been done. (Which was not the case, Id had a complete tune-up and all systems flushed 25,000 miles ago). Since the vehicle was only at 82,000 miles and we always maintained our car I decided to take it to my regular mechanic to see what they said. Tune Up Plus passed my safety inspection but left explicit instructions that I needed to return asap for the maintenance tune-up.The following week I took my vehicle to Pure Automotive (whom I have been using for 2 years) they said all my systems were fine, the only thing that may need a flush was the brake lines, but they werent terrible.I will NOT be returning to Tune Up Plus.

First class shop. They work with you and make suggestions that have helped me with keeping my vehicles in there best condition. They picked up on manufacturer required maintenance that also kept my warranty in place. The little things....

I took my 2006 Dodge Magnum into the shop to complete some preventive maintenance before going on a road trip. I requested an oil change and tune up. While having the service completed I noticed the worker youtubing videos. When addressing the concern I was informed the service tech Zach knew what he was doing by the manager David Cerulli. After completing the tune up I was recommended to get a power steering cleaning. After paying $450 for the service I pulled off and drove less than a mile and the check engine light, traction light, and the electronic throttle control light came on. I went back and they cleared all the lights with a machine. I drove off again and the lights reappeared. I have had my car for 4 years and kept the maintenance up on my vehicle. Since Ive had the car I have never seen any lights on my dash. The manager just put me off and declined to help. I was unable to make my trip and the only thing that they told me before i left was I should at least be able to make it home

I give my hat off to the staff. My granddaughter went up there to get her tuned up where most places would have taken advantage of this I received a phone call from the manager because she didnt understand what was going on and he encouraged me to come up there so he could show me what was wrong. When I got there instead of trying to make a mint off the job he laid out the most important stuff then went into what she should expect to do on the next oil change. The manager was on top of things one of the mechanics was horsing around and the manager quickly corrected the problem and got my granddaughters car out very quickly. Thank you Tune Up Plus for a job well done.

How did I like Tune up Plus? Very expensive.. thats why I had to go somewhere else 🤷

Excellent service... Justin was pretty awesome. He gave me great detail in telling me what was wrong with my truck. He went above and beyond giving great service. He also told me that it would take a day for the part to come in. But it didnt, He went out his way to hunt it down. So I wouldnt be with out my truck.. My truck was serviced and back to me the same day.. It was raining really bad and they bought my truck into the bay so I wouldnt get wet... Totally great and amazing service. I just wanted to say thanks to Tune Up Plus. They worked on our 1998 Lincoln Navigator and they were EXCELLENT!! The manager was truthful and explained to us about our heat not working. It feels so great to have a technician be honest since we have been lied to several times before. I thank them all and wish more shops were just like you all.

I brought my car to the Indian river location yesterday for an inspection around 9:15 am. David told me it would be ready around end of day. I said that is fine and called a ride to pick me up since my husband is deployed. He calls me at 530 and tells me it didnt get done after 9 hours of sitting there! He said to come back today and my car would be first in line if I was there right when they opened at 730. I was there at 728! He tells me that there were 2 cars left over from yesterday and other people in line ahead of me! What?! No thats not what you said last night IN PERSON AND ON THE PHONE! I told him I had somewhere to be at 9 am he ASSURED me that if I got there at 730, my car would be ready by 815! Im so upset with this place! I will be telling all of my military friends to NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER! The manager is a LIAR!

I had to take my car in for a multitude of minor and major repairs. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They even took the time to show me and prove that what they were repairing/replacing was genuine. The price for all the repairs was very fair.

We were trying to leave on vacation on a Saturday morning when my window broke. I called around and no one could get me in to fix it today. I explained my situation to Tune Up Plus and they told me to come up. They had no room in their bay so they pulled my car around and fixed it in the parking lot for me. This is the standard for going above and beyond. Thank you!

I had come back home to Hampton roads from Florida to visit, and started having car issued. David and the techs bent over backwards to work with me and see that i got back on the road. What a blessing they were!

Fast service. Was overdue for state inspection. Dropped it off Saturday evenring was able to get it back before lunch Sunday

No more chitty chitty bang bang for me, thanks to the guys here at Tune Up Plus. Dave with his black and white approach was so refreshing and appreciated. NO candy coating! I walked out of there with my Jeep running better than before and I will most definitely be back to have the other things that need attention. Again, i really appreciated their time and expertise. Went in with an older car to get the AC fixed they quoted $550 and I went ahead and had it “fixed.” They said come get your car it’s blowing cold... I got it and 5 minutes later no cold air. Then I was told I had to replace the compressor... the guy there said I could buy the compressor elsewhere and then he would install it for free because their compressor was going to cost another $600.. and he wanted to make it right for not fixing it with the original $550 repair. I would have never paid 1100 dollars on this old car.At the end of the day David has got the AC working and has done all he can to make it right. I decided to revise my review to be fair to David and his crew. They didnt quit until it was working correctly.

This is my second time going. Both times the employees were very professional and very upfront about my cars issues. They advised me of a recall on my car and told I could get it fixed for free at the dealership. Other shops probably wouldve just told me a price and offered to fix it,especially with me being a a female not very knowledgeable about cars. I always feel comfortable and never ripped off. I will continue to do business here.

I have purchased Groupons before to be used at this location and Ive never had a problem until now. Called to make an appointment today and asked if I could just drop it off. He told me he pretty much will never be able to get me in and to go to their Chesapeake location instead. Thats not the reason why I purchased it to have to drive out of my way. I guess he wanted to justify the reasoning behind it by telling me they only have two lifts and mostly do heavy jobs. Then why list your location to use for this Groupon?? Luckily I was able to get my money back and Ill just go across the street to Tread Quarters because Ive always receive great service there.
