What a great tasting everything bagel this AM. Cant wait to try their EGG Bengal next. I had the Times Square with premium turkey bacon egg and American cheese. A friend had the Long Island locks which is premium novolox playing cream cheese capers tomato and red onion...said it was fresh and delicious! The lunch sandwiches look awesome too. I think Ill try the Staten Island BLT: How high hardwood smoked bacon lettuce tomato and mayo...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I ordered a blueberry bagel toasted with mixed berry cream cheese. The flavor was good. The texture felt like it was toasted, but it felt cold, almost like it was toasted earlier but then refrigerated. (I don’t think that’s what happened, but it was confusing). Maybe the bagel had been refrigerated then toasted at a high temp so that the outside was cooked but the inside stayed cold?Husband ordered a bagel sandwich. He thought it was pretty good. It was warm (just above room temperature)—perhaps toasted first then sat while the ingredients were cooking?I finished mine because the taste was good and I was starving after working night shift and then going on a hike. I wouldn’t seek this place out again, neither would I discourage someone from coming here. Husband says he wouldn’t drive out of his way, but would try them again if he were in the area.

These are not NY-style bagels by any means. They’re way too doughy and lack the shiny crust and glaze of real NY-style bagels. I had a toasted egg bagel with herb cream cheese – the bagel was still cold like it wasn’t toasted at all and if I closed my eyes I would’ve thought the cream cheese was plain flavour. My mom had a plain bagel which she said tasted just a like a dinner roll. Definitely not worth the $3.50 per bagel. There also seemed to be a shortage of napkins and coffee creamer.

This place will never let you down. Best bagels in Virginia Beach. I can certify, because I’ve been too a few of them, and none of them come even close to Bagel Baker. They are absolutely perfect and do absolutely nothing wrong.

I was last here 2 years ago before my most recent visit. Bahels are delicious, but the prices have increased dramatically. $ 4.00 and change for a toasted poppy seed bagel is out of line. Place has the same owner. Hes a good pwrson, but he made a mistake with such steeper prices. I wont be back. A family of 5 will be handing over $20.00 just for 5 bagels. Needless to say, I wont be going back there.

Fresh, authentic New York style bagels with delicious fresh toppings and sandwich-fillings! Reasonable prices and casual dining. A must- visit if you love bagels! Someone is definitely paying attention in the kitchen: every bagel sandwich is obviously made with care.

This place is friendly and clean! Had the New York sandwich, and it was delicious! Not a massive sandwich, but at least you can finish it.

We enjoyed our stop to the Bagel Baker, we went for the NJ sandwich. Great soft bagel filled with a lot of ham and eggs. A must stop.

Service was good and the bagels were ok. Originally from NJ, I know bagels and I know pork roll so Im comfortable saying their New Jersey sandwich was good but not great, however, I appreciated finding one as far south as Norfolk. Super friendly service!

To me, these are the the best bagels. We have Dunkin Donuts, Panerea Bread and Einstein Brothers closer to us (within 10 minutes) but we will drive the 30 minutes for these bagels. I understand that everybody has different tastes but these are the bagels we will drive for.

Bagels are super good. I got the Mediterranean sandwich with bacon and its delicious. First time in and I was a little confused (use the left door and walk over to the counter to order) you can choose to dine in and eat on the right side or to go. They have basic coffee, hot/reg nothing fancy.

The Bagel Baker makes me miss H&H a little less every time I buy there. Ive not found a better bagel in Virginia Beach.

Bagels are poor quality, and extremely overpriced. They sell themselves as a quality bagel restaurant, yet I’m pretty sure I can get the same food at Dunkin for half the price.For a place so popular, you’d expect some actual decent bagels.Too soft, small, not worth your time!Also I ordered cinnamon raisin bagels as the flavor. They hardly have any raisins in them and taste like a plain bagel.

They were super busy but the quality and service was still top notch. Never a disappointment.

I have always loved Bagel baker, actually I would refer them to anyone. unfortunately, the last times I have bought Ive been disappointed. I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese, and I didnt even get it toasted. Then, I ordered a different bagel, which found out cost me almost $9, to receive a complete burnt sausage, I could barely finish my bagel and have attached a picture for reference.

5 stars for the bacon, egg, cheese bagel. I love crisp not wimpy bacon. So yummy!The cinnamon roll is another matter. No icing and so hard it will break a plastic fork. 1st time I tried it. So maybe I got a bad one. But very overheated. Stick to the breakfast bagel. It was great!

Very good! Taste, variety, service, cleanliness and speed of service all great. I was a little concerned about the price thought they were in the higher side compared to other places until I recieved my order. My salmon and lox was big enough to feed two people, all I needed was another bagel. Other places Ive been to what was put on one side is what you get for the whole bagel but they pile on so much here they have to serve it open faced with each side piled high now thats giving me my moneys worth. Flavor is on point when you bite into something and have to close your eyes while chewing your not only savoring but also saving that flavor deep down into your flavor memory. Just between me and you after my first bite my daughter asked for a bite so I cut her a small piece and as I watched her eat that piece I drooled I had to wipe it off the table and everything. The drive was 30 minutes for us and we already have a plan to go back before the end of the week.

I used to really like bagel baker and spent most of my mornings there. But recently it has been going down hill service wise. I try to stay away from bagel baker not because the food is bad, cause it’s great. But because you could go sit down at a nice breakfast place and eat your whole meal before you can get a bagel here. Boring. It’s a pretty basic bagel shop. They could work a bit on the environment, it was uncomfortably quiet . In terms of seating they didn’t have tables inside, just a few chairs. They had seating outside but only a few. They did clean tables after use and tables were far enough apart.Once we ordered the food, we sat and waited 25 minutes. The bagels that we ate were ok, not bad. Bagels are cold. Overall the negatives aren’t detrimental. Okay bagel shop.

Food is great! Ice coffee is delicious! Staff is friendly. The wait is horrible! I would give them a 5 star but every time we come the wait like crazy for the food! Even if is just 1 sandwich! I’ll finish my ice coffee before I get my sandwich. I’m going on 25 minute on 2 sandwich and yes I finish my ice coffee. Would I come here again, yes! I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long.

Nice staff, very efficient. A couple vegan options that are great for a quick, light lunch. My vegan go-to: Madison Square Garden Veggie with hummus on toasted bagel, add avocado- I bring my own hot sauce! Hope they add other options in the future.

Really good bagels, good location, friendly staff, but it comes with a price. For the basic items it is amazing but when you try more complex things the price gets pretty steep. It is worth it for the amount of food they give you (long island lox ) but I was a little disappoint by their bacon, egg, cheese sandwich.Besides that they just renovated and it is still in progress but looking much cleaner and modern. I wish we could order online but I think that will come.I recommend it in you are VA beach, just dont expect a big view of a bakery (it is all in the back)

First time going to the Bagel Baker after being referred here by a friend. AWESOME EXPERIENCE! The food was top notch, I got a bb on Broadway on everything bagel. Egg, cheese, hashbrown. The sandwich was delicious and the staff made sure I was well informed on when it would be ready. This place is run very well and a great family business!

I had BB on everything and chicken salad on onion for later. They were both really great. They put the seasoning both top and bottom of the bagel - which is doing it right. The chicken salad was a bit bland which was what I was going for - that’s why I didn’t opt for the cran/walnut. It was great- I plan on trying lox and their different cream cheeses in the future. The food definitely has NY esque feel to it. I also had an iced coffee wasn’t anything spectacular.

Not the best or the worst but there are no other options for a quick bagel sandwich in the morning really. I’d say there’s a 50% chance your sausage will be burnt to a crisp. This morning mine was rock hard. One could compare it to eating 3 year old stale chips. Yummy.

Our absolute favorite! Their everything bagels are the bomb! Boyfriend always orders the BB on Broadway and I love my hash brown, egg and cheese on a toasted everything! We also never leave without a signature iced coffee for each of us! Friendly staff and great service!

This review is for the Bagel Baker truck. I ordered 2 bagels at the truck during a swim meet. Bagels were nice and fresh, great flavor no worries there. Had a very limited cream cheese flavor selection (how hard can it be to carry more than plain and berry?). Finally, I asked for a toasted plain bagel for my daughter. I picked it up and asked politely if it was toasted. The guy in the truck looked at me like I was a jackass and said he couldn’t, he didn’t have any equipment to toast. I just kind of stared at him incredulously that he was talking to a customer that way, and he continued snidely explaining that he had just baked them an hour ago (which I have no doubt, we just like a toasty crisp bagel).I don’t want to hear that that’s how a real New York bagel truck works, I’ve been to plenty in the City that not only toast your bagels, but also have a dozen cream cheese choices.Disappointing.

This Jersey Girl just discovered the Bagel Baker. Wow. We’ve been looking for a place that sold poppy seed bagels. Could only find poppy in the everything mix. Found this location online and decided to try. Excellent bagels. Only came for breakfast. My brother had his beloved poppy seed, I had the sesame. Both were delicious. Mine was burnt toasted on the edges with lots of butter. Just like Mom used to make. 😊. We will becoming back. They were busy, which is a good sign. Plenty if tables and booths. Nice atmosphere. Nice people. Treat yourself to a REAL bagel.

The food is terrific! The staff is friendly and welcoming. One suggestion : Get more phone lines! The number ALWAYS rings busy!

I was craving bagels but had a sleeping newborn in the car with me. I was idling out front hoping to place a phone order. The owner came out instead and took my order, payment and delivered the food to my car. Thank you!

The everything bagel was delicious. I would have enjoyed it more if it was toasted more. If I didnt see the slight toaster markings on the inside, I would have thought it wasnt toasted at all. The coffee did not taste fresh, so that was disappointing.

I dont write a lot of reviews, but this place is absolutely the best bagel place! The food is awesome and the bagels are the best you can find (I typically travel about an hour and a half to get dozens for the family and friends). Ordering is easy and there is usually only a small wait at the busiest of times. Definitely recommend The Bagel Baker (now if I could just get them to open in the Outer Banks)

Best bagel shop in VB! When I drive by but cant stop in I crave it for the next few hours. My family and I stop by once a week for breakfast and a surprisingly good cup of coffee. The bagel sandwiches are really really good. They have breakfast and lunch options and theyre all great. I like the egg & Italian Sausage for breakfast and the big little Italy for brunch/lunch.

Normally I love this place and it is our go to bagel shop. Unfortunately today was not up to par. First while waiting in line to pick up our order, which we called ahead of time for, a friend of an employee began making her way to the front saying she needs to pay she needs to pay even though that is what we were all there to do and instead of the cashier sending her to the back instead he was apologetic that she had to wait even 30 secs to pay for her food. When we finally got our order and brought it home we came to find out they completely messed up our order. Word of warning for over $20 make sure you unwrap and check every bagel you get before leaving the shop.

Went with my Wife for the first time. Walking in and smelling the fresh made bagels brought me back to my time in New Jersey/New York. Bagels were great, and even spent extra for the banana nut muffin. Great time, going back again. Thank you.

The Bagel Baker is the only place to go for an authentic New York bagel in Virginia Beach. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is clean and inviting but the stars of the show are the delicious bagels. Don’t bother with chain bagel shops and go get the real deal.

The best Bagel Shop in VA Beach. Its busy, but worth the wait. A local friend intoduced us . I had the Manhattan, my partner had the Long Island Lox. Fresh, and well stacked with meats and accoutiment. Delicious. The owner greeted us during our meal, very welcoming. Had a great conversation about local places to get away. Great experience.

It was delicious Im a pretty basic dude. I got the egg and bacon with cheddar cheese on a plain bagel toasted. I almost cream cheesed in my gildans.

Went there with my son yesterday. Granted, we go there about 20 minutes before closing. Ordered a Long Island bagel and a salt bagel with sliced tomato and melted provolone, open faced and a crumble cake. After taking almost 20 minutes to prepare the bagels, we were given our food in a bag and was informed that they were leaving in a few minutes. Fair enough. Went out to the car to eat. Turns out the salt bagel was not open faced, toasted nor was the cheese melted. The tomato on both bagels tasted like dirt (literally - couldnt get the dirt taste out of our mouths for like an hour). The crumble roll was flavorless. The Lox on the Long Island were not fresh at all either. To top it off, it cost over $18 for two bagels, two drinks and a crumble cake! Will not be going back.

We are from out of town, but I was so happy to find this gem. Awesome homemade bagels, and off the hook iced coffee. I told my husband I want to go back just to go there lol.

Editing my review from 2 years ago:This place used to be the best in town and I would come at least one a week. Slowly over the past 2 years I’ve come less and less because they the quality of their food has gone down. Today when I asked the young lady at he register for them to put the right amount of cream cheese on the sandwich she said we always do, do you want extra cream cheese? I said no, I just want a normal amount. She proceeded to charge me the extra anyway. This is unfortunate because I was happy to spend my money here, but because of the lowered quality of food and lack of good customer service, this will be my last time coming here.Old review:Ive been looking for a good bagel shop since I moved here from NY, and Ive finally found it!

Oh my gosh. How can this place have 5 people helping at the counter and less than 6 people waiting for bagels ( which are already made by the way!) and have 2 teenage girls on the phone ignoring people, 1 guy shooting the stuff with the cute local soccer moms, and 2 other people staring blankly waiting for the crazily slow kitchen?Turkey cheese and mustard. Thats it. But it took 16 minutes and then a snarky comment from the iPhone addicted blonde?Im a big supporter of local small businesses over chains- but this one I wish I passed on.It was an okay bagel, but the side of attitude and the extra long wait was NOT worth it!Terrible!!!!!

The best bagels at the beach hands down. Dont waste your time going anywhere else. Wonderfully friendly staff and extremely generous portions. You can taste the love its made with.
