Beautiful place to come and have some lunch and your favorite cup of coffee. The vibe and atmosphere here was so enjoyable. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, and also pet friendly! The menu has a lot of variety and options and the lattes were fantastic! The rooms are all beautifully decorated and the staff were very kind! We will definitely be back to enjoy again!

Formerly known as The Tar Roof, an art gallery that hosted many craftsman fairs/festivals with food trucks and bands. They have naturally progressed into a coffee shop/art gallery, combining the best of both worlds. It has a cool vibe of a restored old home, decorated with the work of local artists. We all enjoyed our coffee and tea, while the cookie that we shared was okay. I love the coffee and tea, but the food is a little too crunchy for my taste. Lots of vegetarian and hipster dishes.

I go here and get coffee a lot and it’s always been amazing. There coffee is really good and they have many different types and options to choose from. I usually sit outside on the porch in one of the rocking chairs when I go and it’s always fun. They also have sandwiches and they are delicious! I strongly recommend this place for lunch or coffee!

Cute coffee shops are hard to come by in the Hampton Roads area but this is top 5 for sure! Being from Vegas, I’m used to more variety so when I discovered this deliciously eclectic location, I quickly became a fan. There is a communal atmosphere with plenty of seating on both of the floors of this redone house with something interesting on every wall. It’s great for catching up over coffee, studying, laptop work, etc. I tried their new sandwich The EMMA which was FANTASTIC. Loved the sauce and how it enhanced the bacon. Also tried their iced peppermint mocha and mannn it hit the spot. Not too sweet or overpowering, the perfect balance of Christmas in a cup!

This is the spot. You want the breakfast burrito, “full send”. You also want the house coffee (fair warning, it’s usually robust). The burrito here comes with their own pimento cheese on it (in addition to pico, egg, cheese, and bacon). “Full send” adds avocado (and maybe the pico was part of the full send option, can’t recall). The building is an old house with a wonderful wrap around front porch, limited seating inside, and there is a playground out back for the kiddos.I’d recommend getting here close to opening; it’s a light staff (as of June/July 2021) and wait times can increase significantly later in the morning.100% worth the trip and wait.

I adore Sawdust Road. Everything I’ve had here thus far - hot and iced latte drinks, grilled cheese, potato salad, Nutella toast, breakfast burrito - have been delicious. Customer service is very good. They have a great yard for eating outside and for kids to play. The front patio, with its wooden rocking chairs and benches, also provide a nice space for their customers. I enjoy coming here.

Definitely recommend!

This is the second time my daughter and I have visited. I love Sawdust Road. I will have to add more pictures next time but it’s essentially an old house so there’s a lot of different room and a wrap around porch. The owners are awesome and the coffee and food is always delicious. There is ample parking outside and kids are welcome. Support this small business and coffee shop in the Pungo area. You won’t regret it.

Havent been here but was looking for coffee while I was out and about. The managers replies on here to customers concerns telling them they are pretty lucky to only wait an hour on Mothers day comes across as very snide and condescending. For that alone, I wouldnt want to choose this place to eat because Id be afraid of doing something to offend the staff the entire time.

I stumbled into this place on my way from Sandbridge to Virginia Beach. It was the perfect road side cafe. Great sandwiches with some unique flavor, good coffee and fun atmosphere.Parking is a bit odd and I wasn’t the most confident on where to approach/enter (it feels like you’re walking into someone’s home). But other than that the experience couldn’t have been better. Plenty of spaces to have a quiet conversation or gather a larger group, and outdoor space for when the weather is nice.

Placed an online order at 12:20 and it said it would be ready at 12:35. We (husband and 2 year old) were really looking forward to picking up our sandwiches and sitting outside in their nice outside area. We got there at 12:40 and I checked in for the food; was told they would bring it out when it was ready. After checking at 1:00, then 1:15, we finally got our food at 1:30, almost a full hour after it was supposed to be ready. I addressed my concerns very nicely (merely recommended that they should let people know if there was that significant of a delay when they arrived to pick up their food) with the woman at the front and she seemed very dismissive of my concerns, “well we’re busy and had a lot of online orders come in.” I understand that, but I have a toddler that is supposed to nap at 1:30, and we easily could have canceled the order upon finding that it would take so much longer than promised. When we finally got the sandwiches, they were fine, but the long wait and dismissive customer service made the whole experience unfortunate. Great outdoor area and a nice play area for kids.

Not really sure how it takes over 40 minutes to get 2 cups of coffee and 2 breakfast sandwiches. This is the second time we have come here and waited as long. It is not like they are swamped with customers. The food we have had is real good. Just wish we didnt have to wait so long.Thank you Eddie, for your response. Thank you for your manager addressing it at the time and delivering quality coffee and sandwiches. My initial review was only meant to help you and your staff identify things that may be slipping through the cracks. I did not mean to sound harsh. My wife and I enjoy supporting local businesses and truly appreciate the the efforts and struggles during these crazy times. That being said, we are looking forward to eating at Sawdust Road again. Again and again we would rate Sawdust Road with 5 stars. Every visit has always been enjoyed. Easy to find and easy to park. Very clean. Starting with the way the owners love this piece of land and this house- they have spent time finding out lots of history and they have become one of the most welcoming businesses at the entry into Pungo. The Sawdust family shows that they love the community and they are constantly showing ways to support other local small businesses and local artists. On to their coffee and food- hot or cold the coffee is delicious. Favorite hot latte is their Honey Lavender and their Backwater cold brew is a favorite. Love their breakfast tacos - fresh egg and their pico is packed with flavor.Easy to feel cozy and comfortable inside or out on their front porch. Theres a lot of room to enjoy their yard especially under the huge magnolia tree! There is a (backyard) playground on their property. Be back again soon!

Really cool atmosphere without the nigh-esoteric pretension you tend to find in a lot of third wave spots. Homey and light-hearted. The food is really good; I got “The Signature” sammy. It was out fast; simple, tasty, and filling. The coffee wasn’t really on the spectrum of idolized roasters like Counter Culture, Onyx, etc. It’s not trying to be that, and that’s a really nice change. It’s more in the region of your dad’s favorite breakfast spot—only better: a “to thine own self be true”-kind of a place. Really pleased with it. Will definitely be back.
