WOW. Came in for new foundation but was not sure what product would be best. Eric immediately offered assistance and was so, so helpful asking questions to identify the right product, lots of advice on best application. He was so personable, SO knowledgeable I ended up asking his recommendation for other products as well and am SO HAPPY with them!! THANK YOU ERIC! EVERY Ulta, well every retail store, needs someone as experienced and fantastic in customer service as him.

I love this store but 80 percent of time when I go in this Va beach location it is hard to find an employee that can help me. I guess it is a good thing because they are busy but geez hire more people for the weekends.

Dont schedule a salon appointment online using their website. I made an appointment online over a week ago and found out the day of my appointment that the online system didnt book enough time for my appointment. They offered to reschedule another day at a different location 30 minutes further away. I have an event on Sunday and I planned in advance for my hair appointment so to have it cancelled the same day is a nightmare! The store manager called and apologized, but words do not get my hair done before the event. Despite everyone knowing the system has this error, the manager told me they do not check the system when appointments get made! Wouldnt you think it would be good to have someone call and confirm appointments when they are made KNOWING you have this issue? The customer has no idea there is an issue! If you offer an online booking system, the customer assumes it works! So its either that, or mybe the stylist, Kate Morel, had other plans today and just needed an excuse to cancel on me. Will not be going back to Ulta!

Lit rally I’ve been struggling to find my concealer shade for MONTHS. I forgot his name, but he’s a white man and he helped me find my concealer shade & recommended me a nice powder aswell. I bought a cc cream aswell and it didn’t really fit me at all, I suppose that’s just elf shade range because they don’t fit me that well. But he was so helpful & even gave me cheaper alternatives. also there’s this black cashier & her makeup is so pretty 😩. ANYWAYS LMAOO if you were scared like me to go into stores & get help with concealer/foundation shades or anything of the sort don’t be. Go into here because they’ll get you an idea or get you your right shade.

Pretty much the entire town is immunized and the mask mandate has been lifted but Ulta employees are still the mask police. I’m done with this place!

One of the worst Ultas. In this area. Walked in for a hair trim. The store wasnt bussy. Everyone was avoiding eye contact HARD. Couldnt even get not one person to help me. Very disappointed been getting my hair done at ulta for a while now but this location was close to me today. Never again.

When I went to the store items that I came for wasnt available and out of stock. The store employee was very helpful and asked did I want to have the items shipped to my home. That was smart thinking, and convenient for me versus heading to another ulta location or another store to purchase what I needed. The items was ordered yesterday and today I already received tracking information for ETA. Thanks Ulta for providing great customer service. Its hard to find great customer service nowadays, so Im really excited when I receive great service 💞 Also usually Ulta never really made that option of shipping to home so readily available. If something wasnt in stock they would send me to another Ulta store, or tell me to check back Thursday when the truck arrives. Thanks for keeping up with the competitors as well.

My experience at the MAC counter was really good! Ashley helped me a tone and made it easier with having 2 kids with me. She gave me the best advice on what would look good on me and what she would recommend if I care back to buy some more products. This Ulta is not my favorite in the area, that is Landstown Commons, but itll do if youre already over here or live closer to this one.There is just something about this location that isnt as open and airy and welcoming or something. I dont know. But I prefer the other one.Ive come here a few times to try to buy my standard eye liner and mascara and usually theyre sold out of the basic colors.

I like looking in this store but I think their prices are a bit high. I’ve never had an employee ask if they can help me? Which is okay because I’d probably say no. They do have a huge variety of product lines. I’m sure they have pretty much anything you can think of. The store is clean just wish they weren’t so pricey.

Hands down, probably my fav Ulta location! I went here this afternoon to look for a new shade of foundation for summer. Kobie went above & beyond - he was able to help me find a new foundation & then some! Nicole waited on me & was very accommodating. The only downside is that this location isnt around the corner from me & the only one that sells MAC products inside the store.

I went into ulta looking for a makeup consultation, and someone who would be able to apply makeup for me and give me some tips and tricks.Where i was greeted by Ashley from the MAC counter, and she was more than delighted to help me out. I am so glad she did. She was very sweet and professional and had so much knowledge about makeup and all of the MAC products.She introduced me to some everyday favorites that i can add into my makeup routine like the Strobe Cream, Paint Pots, and Foundation.I am so glad to have met her. I was actually wanting to learn how to apply makeup for a big event coming up. Which because of her expertise and training she made me feel comfortable doing my makeup then and now.All in all, Ashley made my experience that day at Ulta amazing! I will definitely be going back to see her when i need some more beauty products.

Visiting this location at the right time seems to make a huge difference in my satisfaction level. Going on the weekend means youll probably be waiting in line for a while to checkout. Ordering online and using the pickup in store option is a great way to avoid most lines! Thats what I did on this visit. Only complaint would be the device used to check out my order from their system was slow to load. My phone was low on battery so that was stressful. But the staff were very nice and friendly and the store atmosphere was great. Very clean and calm. If every visit was like this last one, I would shop at Ulta more often!

It was my first visit at Ulta. Ammo from the Mac department greeted me upon arrival. I didn’t have a clear vision of what I wanted to go with but with just a little information to go by, Ammo matched my skin and picked colors that complimented my features ... the finishing look was just what I was visioning! I am hooked on Mac now and she made me feel so beautiful!

I had the BEST experience here ! My friend recommended me to get my makeup done here for prom and she was right! The MAC artist Ammo made me feel so beautiful ! I told her I was insecure about some of my features and she knew exactly what to do to make me feel confident and love myself ! I walked out the door with a smile on my face. This is my second bad experience at the location near independence blvd. The first time I really wanted help from an associate but they wouldnt help me. They would walk around and offer their assistance to others, but kept ignoring me. Today, there was an absurdly long line with only 2 cashiers. Other associates were just sitting around. One just kept staring at herself in the mirror. No one took a hint.... whos in charge?

This store location is wonderful! This is where I get all things makeup and get my hair done as well. The salon here is great, Anya is my go to girl! Their customer service is really great as well, when I was having issues with Ulta customer service number helping me out I came to this location and they were a big big help!

Give Krista in the salon a visit. She’s been doing my hair (Blonde highlights) for about 3 years now and always does a phenomenal job. I’ve never left short of happy. She’s given me a few tips to help my hair once it’s done, as well.

Rude employee went to another employee and proceeded to make rude comments about me in earshot of my daughter in law. I wont be shopping at Ulta again if this is the kind of customer service representatives they employ.

Love me some Ulta! They would get 5 stars if staff was ever available for help. I dont think they have enough staff working to accommodate the size of the store. This location is big & always neat.

Great experience

My daughter was shopping for Halloween and every day makeup and found what she needed at good price. The online coupon lower her purchase price which made her happy. Store was clean, plenty of parking is available and is handicap accessible. Store her help is readily available.

I would advise those looking to have formal makeup done here to make sure to book with the MAC counter associates. Also, my $40 blowout went limp 1 hour later. Very disappointing. The three star is because the manager attempted to make things right while I was there. Lesson learned.

This is my go-to place for all things beauty. If you sign up for their rewards points you get great deals and if you get that credit card you get amazing deals. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful. This is one of my favorite stores.

I love the salon! Mel is the best. I have been going to her for the past couple of years. Now she has worked on my daughters hair for both Ring Dance and Prom. Erin in skin care worked on her makeup. Love the laughter and all the fun we experienced there. Keep up the awesome work ladies!

Had been all over the 757 looking for the Koko by kylie collection called this location and before I could finish explaining what I needed I could hear the associate walking to find it which she did!! I enjoy coming to this Ulta location. I am never hounded or bothered by the staff to try out or purchase something I am not interested in but if I am stuck on a item I can not find or decide on the staff have always helped me find what I am looking for or have given me good recommendations on their products. This is also the only salon I will come to now. Anya is amazing and takes her time and never makes me feel rushed. She also listens when I explain what style I am wanting for my hair.

Ive too often asked for a recommendation at a beauty store and then been upsold aggressively until I regret asking for any help at all. This is NOT that. Very kind employees let me look around peacefully. Werent pushy but were kind and friendly. Then when I needed a recommendation for something, the woman I asked showed me an isle and gave me some options and told me to look into these products. I cant stand when I ask for a starter level product and end up having someone hand me a product that costs more than I had planned on spending in my whole trip. This was the opposite. I had a nice time browsing and didnt feel any pressure. Bought some new skincare stuff and banana powder. Think I might come back for a palette next week. Looking forward to shopping here again.

Dont know anything about makeup, but I know good customer service, which is exactly what I experienced here! There was a young lady who helped my wife with some skin care products and I was extraordinarily impressed with the care she took with us, despite the fact that we were not buying any of the products she was presenting. I was in the sales industry for a number of years and I know how disheartening that can be, but she did not flinch; she soldiered on. My wife WILL be back to purchase from location on the strength of this womans salesmanship and customer service!

Get your hair done with Mel at this location!! I seriously cannot say enough good things about her and her amazing team. I was terrified to dye my hair for the first time, and she made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in the right hands. She really made my “hair goals” a reality, and did the whole thing while laughing and making me have the best time. Would give 6 stars if I could!

I just got full highlights done by Krista. She’s extremely personable and informative. She was polite and did ask if I was tender headed prior to pulling on my hair in any way. Although I’m not, it means that she is understanding that each customer may have a different pain tolerance. She did a wonderful job and I truly recommend her!

Anya did my hair and managed to reverse the damage and give me amazing hair for my wedding day. Its more expensive but definitely worth it. Everybody there has so much experience. I will definitely be going back.

This location is great! Hands down beats the Landstown Commons location in Virginia Beach. The staff were all ready to go and were knowledgeable and polite and even if they were in the middle of a conversation they’d drop just to help a customer! Well done y’all! Now that’s world class service!Also I had my brows done here, I’m a male so I was nervous the girl would make it too perfect and when I told her that she reassured me she’s done so many male clients before and will shape it perfect for me. I’ll edit with her name later! Overall 5star experience! Highly recommend this location.

I recently got my makeup done at the MAC counter for Prom. Ammo was the makeup technician who did my makeup and I absolutely loved my experience!! She gave me exactly what I wanted. She can perfectly replicate any picture reference and can even add her own little spin if you’d like. She’s a great conversationalist, super friendly, but is also respectful if you aren’t in the mood to talk and/or are uncomfortable with small talk. My makeup was gorgeous and still looked just as perfect 10+ hours later without even needing to reapply setting spray. Will 100% come back and request her for my next big event. OMG! Gather around guys and dolls! Let me tell you about the most AMAZING experience. Ashley, the MAC counter lead, is seriously phenomenal. I brought my friend in for a birthday make over and both of us have nothing, but great things to say. She greeted us promptly, she has an upbeat and fun attitude and most importantly she left my friend feeling fabulous. Seriously, I cannot put into words how awesome Ashley was to us. 5 stars for sure, I’d gladly give more!

Today I received the worst customer service I have received in a long time despite the significant amount of money that I have spent at this location over the past few years. I usually over look the negative experiences I have at this location because they typically have the products that I really like. I picked up a hair serum that had the top unscrewed & it wasted all over the floor. I told the nearest sales person and she asked me if I wanted napkins in order to clean it up. I did not consider that to be an appropriate response, so I told a manager. The manager told me that she would have asked me the same question. This was the icing on top of the cake. Over the years, I have experienced poor customer service (like sales people not wanting to help me, unfriendly sales people at the cash register) but this leads me to believe that I am not a valued customer here. No longer will I spend my money at this location. I wish the manager would have said sorry to me instead of insinuating that I should clean it up. On a positive note, there was a really nice Este Lauder rep who color matched me and spend her time and concern to sell me hundreds of dollars of products. I have not seen the Este Lauder lady in a while, perhaps she has moved on the a company that is more conscientious about how they treat customers. I will certainly continue to shop at Ulta (the store has great products), but never again at this location. I only spend time to write an unfavorable review after several negative experiences.

I had the most amazing experience getting my Make up done at the Mac counter by the amazing Ashley !! She was super sweet and even more talented !! My make up looked better than I could ever imagined and she helped me get some amazing products that I can use at home & try myself !! I love Ulta! Its my favorite, I can spend hours in this store but last night it was terrible. The manager watched me the entire time that I shopped. He was a younger white guy with glasses. Every time I bent down to look at a product on the bottom shelf he was somewhere peeping around the corner at me. I dont like to be racially profiled and that was exactly what happened to me last night. I voiced my concern to the cashier and she proceed to say hes good people but proceeded to tell me to leave my bag of purchases at the front when I decided that I wanted to grab something else really quickly. Ill be shopping at Sephora from now on, thanks to this guy ruining it for me.

Very friendly and helpful in locating products

I would like to share my unpleasant experience, that turned out very positive thanks to a wonderful associate. I am pregnant, super emotional and self conscious as of lately. I went in to Ulta, feeling kind of down, due to my hormones and breakouts. I went to the MAC counter, browsing through foundations and concealers, I noticed that every time I would say excuse me the associate would do everything in her power to ignore me, or help another customer. I stayed in the area for about half an hour just watching to see if I was going crazy.. I was not. Every fair skinned customer that would come into the MAC area, the associate (who was deeper complexion), would blatantly ignore them and tend to other customers that looked like her. When I finally was able to have the attention of the associate, she was very rude, reeked of Marijuana and acted as if she did not even want to be at work. I am no saint, but I do not feel that is appropriate for the workplace or representing MAC/ULTA in the best light. Frustrated and feeling worse than I did when I arrived, and I left empty handed. I go back to ULTA on my next day off, initially to tell the manager about my unpleasant experience, instead, I was greeted by a very pleasant associate by the name of Ashley who explained to me the benefits of protecting my skin while trying to conceal, and we found a perfect combination of products for my skin. All of which was quick, easy and very educational. She was fully attentive, and by the time I went to check out I had totally forgot that I wanted to complain about her coworker from the other day. All and all, Ashley was a great associate and I could go on and on about my great experience with her. FIVE STARS FOR ASHLEY. The other girl, NEEDS SOME MAJOR training in customer service .. or better yet, should be fired!!

Shes a Master Aesthetician/Trainer/Educator for all Ultas located in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the U.S. My hair is beautifully/professionally colored every 5 to 6 weeks by Emily. You wont go wrong using Erin & Emilys professional salon services at Ulta Town center, Virginia Beach.

I went twice to this Ulta salon, the first time I got a haircut from Megan and the second time Anya took care of my highlights. The result has been always perfect both times! I really recommend this salon, people are super nice and I always left satisfied!

I shop at ultra all the time, and to have to dig high and low just to get some help is crazy. I love this store but I just wish they would be willing to help you with what you need. That’s all anyone really wants.

I am going back tomorrow to purchase some stocking stuffers 5 items for 5.00 dollars!!! I am like a kid in a candy store once I walk through the double doors..💕💗💕

This happened a while ago, but yall oughta know just how boss the women at this store are. 1). Ive gotten my hair done by Maggie twice, and both times it has been stunning. Shes absolutely magical. 2). A while ago there was a storm that completely knocked out the power. I turned around from the cash register to survey the scene to find two make up artists at the Benefit brow bar continuing with their makeup session for a customer. One of them doing the makeup, the other using their phone flashlight to provide proper lighting. Props to them, I know so many people who would have used the power shutting off to dip out and call it a night. Talk about dedication. This ULTA will forever be my favorite out of the many locations here in VB.

It doesn’t take much to order more of the things you are low on. Grocery stores do it every day. I should be able to pick up some bare minerals foundation when I need it. Poor management. Also it took 10 minutes to find someone who worked there. Come on people

Came here to get Sun Bum sunscreen and they do have it. Staff at the register are pretty rude though. Ive never been in this store before, but staff members were actively gossiping about customers that just walked out. I found out they have this sunscreen at Target, so I will probably just get it there from now on.
