I always find something to buy here. I need textbooks covers. They had them a dollar a piece. I also had a great cashier on Tuesday at the first register asked all the right questions from needing a bag to looking up rewards, so spot on.

It seems like the place is in constant flux. I went for two items and if I really didnt need them I would have left. Apparently a shopper? looking for money for coffee figured this store would be a good place to pick up some change. Having this person literally creep up on me scared me to death. I did report it but who knows. Also in the hardware department has noticed items without a sales slip. Or the attitude you get when you ask for one

Ocean State Job Lot is the type of store that have some of everything, you have to visit the store, its a well kept store with lots of bargains.

The place has come a long way. Better merchandise and looks cleaner. However... the register areas are too cluttered and not well merchandised.

Only one cashier otherwise everything was fine. Once I was able to get to the cashier 2 more registers opened.

Its after Christmas. Theres a lot of good things to get and also Christmas stuff for half price. I enjoy seeing and buying things that are really good.

A clean store it is though less friendly though and more time ought to be drawn to customers more than often. More items are required like bigger sizes of aluminum foil dishes and or paper plates of wider diameters.

Lots of discount items that change seasonally - check there for thongs you might buy at Target, Home Depot, etc.Not everything - but worth checking.

Perhaps the worst Ocean State Job Lot in the area - poor management, prices not updated, staff slow and not knowledgeable, crazy deals not registering properly at cashier, and staff not even apologizing for errors in receipt (first staff not acknowledging error, misinformed about use of older crazy deals, manager taking over 30min to correct). Have been here several times in past with similar chaotic experience.

Unfortunately this store is a mess i walked around everything was disorganized dirty not up to the standard of another store OSJL i visit quite often their store is organized clean and they take pride in this store because you can tell when you walk into their store everything is easy to find and a clean store means you spend more money because everything is displayed perfectly and you shop longer their is no reason for this store to be in the condition it is either hire new people that know what their doing and get a new manager that gives a dam also not enough cashiers in this store and take the time to train all the employees they look like they are all confused i will be watching i will make a visit soon to see if you listen to my advice to improve the condition of this store and if not the next review will go to HQ thank you!

Loving this place. My favorites are the genuine leather colored gloves for $10, organic and gluten free food and healthy drinks at a discount. They have weekly crazy deals where you essentially reimbursed for the item, and an insider card...but Im not sure what he doesnt. Getting good wrinkle cream cheap is great too!

Even while busy, the employees were extremely friendly here. An employee, I think named Mark, was running around helping everyone find what they needed. Then Larry the cashier was very personable. The store was a little messy, but stocked with all sorts of great deals. I will definitely be returning.

Ocean State = cheaper version of Christmas Tree Shop. I always enjoy visiting this place, and I can never leave without spending at least 20 bucks on useful things. Some really good values here, definitely check them out during Christmas they have these crazy deals that end up giving you gift cards for 50% or more of what you spend! For example you buy an item for $30 and they give you a gift card worth $20!! That IS a crazy deal .

If you dont mind wading through disorganized piles of merchandise here and there, you can find great deals! Just dont assume prices are automatically lower for everything, and if the manager is required for any trouble checking out... good luck! The selection of items and types of items, parking, and hours are huge pluses for this location!

Great people and good prices

Good bargain store they have many items that could cost more at other stores, but they also have items that cost the same price with other stores. Stocks can be limited sometime, location is good if you live in Waltham. If you are on a low budget its a good store to shop.

The store could be very busy, but only one or two cashiers working and customers lay down on the counters to talk, using the person who is working as a psychologist while you wait 30 minutes in line.

Love this place! Its hit or miss with merch. But ITS ALWAYS worth a look! VERY INEXPENSIVE!! and most items are fairly good quality.

Always a fun time to pop around the store. While I would not recommend this place for all your shopping. I think they often have fantastic deals. More often than Id like to admit they sadly dont have the niche item I am searching for. Dont let that stop you from coming here though. You might just end up finding something better.

Having been in numerous Ocean State Job Lot stores,the Waltham MA location is an absolute disgrace!!! Store is filthy,disorganized & so crowded with merchandise you are unable to find anything. When asked why this location is this way,I was told oh its a small storewith to much stock to merchandise correctly......Really.....thats not an excuse for poor management!!! Definitely would not return even if you were giving stuff away!!!

Heres the deal, the place isnt pretty to look at, its a constant state of controlled chaos. But you cant beat the prices for certain things. Cookware, household goods and the like are cheaper than anywhere. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Its like a museum where you can purchase the exhibits. It is my go to for several things, including bird seed. The staff is always wonderful.

It is hard to rate Ocean State Job Lot. It is often chaotic and disorganized with products in random locations, but perhaps that is by design. Since moving to Boston, I have shopped there a few times, and consider it to be a somewhat more entropic version of Big Lots.

Such a neat place to shop for a large variety of items like spices, socks, art supplies, chocolate, energy drinks and electronic gadgets. A lot of the brands are premium ones and the prices are much lower than the competition. Always find pleasant surprises and good customer service when I go. Check it out, Waltham and surrounding areas.

I shop at Ocean State Job Lots probably once every two weeks. this one that I just went to had only one cashier as 9 people waited in line. I asked the manager for another cashier but one never came so I left all my goods at the counter

Wish I could give 5 stars, but I had to cut back due to the incredible messiness of the store. I love the bargains at Job Lot, but never have I been in one that literally looked like a tornado hit it. This made it difficult to find things. I did find some of what I was looking for but just had to get out. So disappointed in Job Lot. Sorry.

I feel bad for the employees, as it is clear that they are understaffed. The shelves are somewhat organized, but not necessarily stocked well. The isles are littered with items that are on the floor, or empty / full boxes of items that havent been put onto shelves yet. Its almost like a free for all in there. If you are hoping to shop with a cart, you are better off leaving the cart in the main isle because it is nearly impossible to navigate through the store with a cart because of all of the items on the floor. The employees were friendly and helpful at checkout, but they clearly need additional help to manage the inventory.

Love the bargains. Never wait in line too long. They even let customers use their restroom which is huge

Terrible place! My husband and I were looking for a room-fan. We asked for help and nobody did. We started to check boxes, because they were open and some guy came to us and said “we are thieves we try to steal this”. We were shocked, but for that moment We did not English very well, we tried to explain to him, we wanna buy it.He did not listen us and said “get out of here”we were offended. I don’t recommend this store and that Asian guy who lost his customers.
