Prices are good, plenty of parking, nice employees, excellent produce. I love that it is a smaller old fashioned market--i dont need a 45 minute walk for a loaf of bread! And did I mention the great prices?

The staff is always friendly and helpful. Ive shopped a few times with a special needs child and a handicapped adult. They watch over her walker while she uses the power chairs and they are patient with my special needs child when she wants to talk about Toy Story. Some even say hi to her Woody doll which she LOVES. He is her best friend.

This Used to be a 5 Star Big YBut for the past 3 years it has gone down hill a bit.Items that were always well stocked are often now unavailable and frequently take weeks to restock this could in part be pandemic related but the issue began before the pandemic.On a positive note the pizza is great and a slice Reasonably priced. Numerous places in town to order pizza including Dominoes but Big Y pizza has them beat. The downside is they dont deliver.All things considered Big Y is a far better shopping experience than Walmart.

The checkout staff is about the only thing they have going for it as far as it goes for the Ware store. The management is very rude and dont care about their customers or staff. And no, it has nothing to do with Covid. Their prices are 2x the price of Market Basket on so many things. And with Biden in office and everything going up in price. This is the last place you wanna shop. And do not let the bag girls/boys bag your groceries unless you want your food crushed. One of the girls put bread and cake at the bottom of the bag. This happened more than once so I do not let them bag, even if I forget my bags and use theirs.

Tried a different store today thinking maybe I was wrong. Store smelt prices were again rediculous. You have bring or buy your own bag where are we save a lot. If I have to pay twice as much as anywhere else can I at least get some damn bags. Furthermore employees are standing around all over the place you want to save money get people to do their job. And one more thing I understand that steak costs money but $26 is outrageous

Very well presented. They have the biggest variety of frozen pizza Ive ever seen in one store. The store is always clean and well stocked. The bakery displays are picturesque. As if they were going to be featured in a magazine. The chocolate truffle cake was rich without being too sweet. I will definitely buy it again.

I love that this is a smaller, neighborhood grocery store. Easy to walk through and they carry most of what I want.

Poor service! Attitude from seafood, attitude from register personal, Fish box was full of grease, fries were cold and fish was cold and undercooked. I DO NOT RECCOMEND FOOD FROM THIS STORE!

First time shopping here, Felt like was a horrible person because I didnt have any reusable bags with me and the cashier acted like I hit a child or something. Other staff was ok. Just not a great atmosphere, ok selection at best. Im going to stick with market basket.

This is a combination review for the Ware and Palmer stores.Today is Memorial Day and I was extremely disappointed to see that neither store had the flag lowered to honor our fallen soldiers.

I shop for a man through my work. The workers at ware our the best,always willing to help . Thank you for making my job easier to help my elderly folks.

Good supermarket to get a variety of food & other products. Loyalty program might not be as great as other supermarkets, but its something. Big bonus is getting discounts at other businesses with having the loyalty program card here. Reasonable locations across the region. Would recommend getting a membership card here in a pinch. Its free.

Cant seem to make my 30 sub correctly.

I have been a customer of this Big Y for several years & they do have much room for improvements. I probably shouldve gave less stars actually. But the store is clean & presentable, with most employees being friendly & sometimes helpful. The prices are not the best, and Ive noticed that many sale items arent really that great of a deal, considering they sometimes seem to raise the prices to make you think youre getting a great bargain, when youre really not. Other stores sell the same exact items for less regularly. Even Big Y brand items arent all that cheap. For example, canned vegetables. Right now they have a sale 4 for $3 on Big Y canned corn. Wal-Mart sells their brand of canned corn for about 50 cents everyday low price. I dont mind going to Big Y because its closer to me than Wal-Mart & often less crowded, but they also need to open more cash registers on busy days, such as weekends. Ive been there & seen only 2 or 3 registers open before which makes for very lengthy lines & wait time. Also the pizza shop recently messed up our order & this was a major inconvenience, as it was for my daughters birthday party. We ordered a party size pizza in plenty of advance (hours prior to when we needed it) and made it very clear to the employee who took the order by phone that we wanted half combo (sausage, pepperoni & onion) & half with only cheese, because my children only like cheese on their pizza. I sent a friend to pick it up & was very disappointed to find that they had made the entire pizza combination. I called to complain & they told me they couldnt take the pizza back, but did say they would make a new one for us, which of course would take more time. So I had to send my friend out again, because we were in the middle of a birthday party like I said & everyone was waiting to eat. So it was pretty upsetting & when he arrived, it still wasnt ready yet, so this was not too great. Plus we were stuck with a whole party size pizza that we never ate, because who can realistically eat 2 party pizzas??? Ive also had issues with their bakery in the past. I called to inquire about a rum cake for a friend. We figured why not get one from a grocery store, rather than an expensive bakery. I specifically asked whether they did in fact have a rum cake available & the gentleman I spoke with in the bakery department confirmed that they did in fact sell them. We then went in person only to be told by a different man that they did not sell them @ their bakery. I explained how I was told otherwise & even asked the gentleman to be sure of this as we were looking to purchase one (short notice) for a birthday. The man asked us who I spoke to on the phone, but I did not get his name unfortunately, but did provide him with the date/time of the call, so they couldve easily figured out who took my call. Anyhow, I wouldve liked for them to explain to others that this inaccuracy caused problems for customers, because we were told something that wasnt true & wasted our time going to the store for an item that they didnt carry. I would have @ least liked an apology for the mistake on their behalf, regardless of whom answered the phone, but I did not receive one. They just kept repeating how they didnt have the rum cakes & werent sure why I was told that they did. Also they do not have self checkouts, which would make a very helpful addition. They do however have clean restrooms available for customers to use. I am glad to see that they have employees wearing masks & also sanitizing shopping carts. Another issue Ive had with this store is their inability to help customers on WIC. Though some employees do understand how this program works, others do not. I also find it absurd that they charge you for paper bags if you do not remember to bring your own reusables from home. Why charge paying customers for a bag that theyre most likely just going to throw away once emptying out their groceries @ home? We already spend enough @ your store, you really cant give us paper bags for free?🙄 Bakery frequently messes up orders too.

The deli could use better people that want to do there job. A tall dude with glasses ignored my wife and I for probably close to ten minutes while he stood there with a rag in his hand. Bit the Seafood department is Awesome. I strongly suggest family fish fry.

Brand name products, real Nestle house chips multi flavors & sizes. Great baking supplies. Best roated family size chicken or super bird. Organic fruits & veggies local grown. Lunch meats fresh any cut shaved to 1/4 inch . Organic meats also. Now no plastic bags bring your own or buy $1 reusable or paper .10 More eco friendly. Who doesnt want to help our environment.

Very clean, Im sure is not only a major issue for me, but also for many others. I have always found the Ware Big Y to be spotless and always very well stocked. The younger staff working the evening shift (when I shop) and managers are always very polite ready to assist the customer.

Well kept store, staff is generally friendly and helpful. Savings program is pretty great, lots of sales for program members all the time. I was looking for fresh green onion the other day and didnt see any, but 3 other stores didnt have it either so maybe I need to reconsider my use of green onion. Good overall selection and variety otherwise.

This is the smallest store in the chain.I cant say enough about the staff that goes above and beyond every single day to give you a world-class experience!!!

A great selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, but a bit pricey depending on what you are looking for.Also, I dont recommend working for them, at least as a cashier. You get very little respect. I finally quit after almost a year working there after several times when I got scheduled to work after requesting that day off and being approved for it.

Produce, deli & meat dept over-extend their expiration dates. Twice in the meat dept we purchased ground beef that was bad. Deli dept puts pre packaged deli in the quick grab section, we noticed the packed on dates dated for the next day! They push produce dates as well. The Ware store is treated like the place where the larger big y stores send there close to death products just to get rid of them. This isnt the first time weve taken notice to the expiration date issue...we brought it to their attention months ago & were offered a $5 gift card...which we instantly passed on to someone else in the store.

Bring your money because your going to pay big bucks shopping here. The prices are outrageous the sales arent bad but who needs by 1 get 2 free if it goes to waste. Just lower the prices to reasonable prices.

Place is always clean, and orderly. With a ample selection of fresh fruit, and vegetables. Prices are competitive, with reward system, and 2 for 1. Or even 3 for 1 deals. Bread items not known for long shelf lifes though. So dont get attached to them. Very helpful cashiers, baggers, and stockers. Manager is friendly, and personable. Always a good experience shopping at the Ware Big Y. Loses 1 star just because its too good. The other day I went in for just some soda, walked out with $113.00 grocery bill.

Most of produce belongs in dumpster. always more expensive than other stores. they should close this store and put in a pricerite,hannafords, or price chopper and do everyone a favor.!!!! call corporate in springfield with an issue and see how poorly they treat you!!!!!!! if possible would give them zero stars
