Extremely high quality products and very friendly + helpful staff. Got the iced hot chocolate this time and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place. First visited L.A. Burdick in Cambridge and Boston MA and this location was just as good, if not better.

Seemed promising but beverage I ordered was so weak it looked and tasted like water. Held it up for both staff members behind the counter to see and was told simply, Its supposed to look like that. Oh, dear. Was going to buy a few packages of chocolate for my family at the front of the store but decided against it at that point. Unfortunately, cant recommend.

One of my favorite dessert places in the DMV. Their mocha cake, gugelhopf, and orange chocolate madeleines are to die for. That simple.

I passed by this store at a cold winter night in Boston and decided to step inside for a cup of hot chocolate. And now it’s my favorite chocolate store! I’m so happy it finally opened in DC. Definitely try the hot chocolate, it’s the best in the world! So rich and creamy, and not too sweet. The chocolate bonbons are also my favorite. The packaging is cute as well.

The whole cafe is decorated in a gorgeous and elegant manner. The coffee and treats taste amazing as well.

This newly opened chocolate house is elegantly designed with walls and glasses filled with nice chocolates. We enjoyed our latte with cheese cake. Trying the signature chocolate mice/mouse was nice too.

This is the a nice chocolate shop in DC. We used to go there weekly.That being said, the service is terrible and the store manager is absent minded to say the least. Even though we went there weekly, the store manager never remembered us.Although the main reason for this one star review and what really solidified that we will never return is that we ordered favors for our wedding from here and the order was never completed. The store manager put the order in himself. And when we called to pick up our order (2 days before our wedding), we were told that they “didn’t know what we were talking about” and we could place another order that would come in a week later (after our wedding). This was obviously upsetting and we have decided that while the chocolate is decent, a business needs a competent manager to truly be successful.

Great place, we were happy that LA Burdick has finally opened in DC .We had the dark chocolate frappe and a chocolate coconut cake with a shot of espresso, all was amazing

FINALLY! Burdick in D.C.. Ive been trying to get them to open a branch in D.C. for over 10 years when I moved from Boston! This location does not disappoint. Georgetown is an apt location for this delicatessen. More spacious and bigger selection than either the NYC and Boston locations. This location is also better designed and has prettier decor. The only drawback to the Georgetown location is the lack of parking space and the oppressive vehicle traffic.

Best hot chocolate in DC ! If you are a dark chocolate fan like me, this please is dreamland . Also has hot milk chocolate and hot white chocolate if folks prefer sweeter versions . Sparkling clean and amazing service ! The cakes are also delicious - tried the one of cherries and chocolate

By far the best iced hot chocolate I have ever had!! This place is definitely a must if you are a chocolate lover😍🤤 I even bought a packet of their hot chocolate mix to take home!!

Very delicious, but it is gonna cost ya. Do not take a box of these to the office or lay them on your desk or anything like that. Keep at home and share with a special friend or lover. Basically, you go in and steal a box of these it’s like robbing a bank. Expensive, but worth it. You can go to your death bed knowing you have had one of the finer things in life.

Whenever I get a chance to visit DC, I always stop by to pick up some goodies for my family... They love the chocolate.I personally love the Cafe more. The Cafe is a must try. Cookies pastries coffee out of this world.

I ordered an everyday mix 1/2 lb on February 10. They insist on overnight shipping 25.00. Suddenly in the 12 I am notified that my service has been upgraded and that the shipment has never left Louisville Kentucky. I called and emailed and I was told this is due to storms please be patient. It is now the 26 of February and I called again as I am out 70.00 dollars to be told I will have my case reviewed and possibly refunded! Are you serious? I will never order from these people agin. Worst customer service ever.

I would like to say this is the best establishments I’ve been in. First of all the staff were lovely and I had great service. The manager helped me with a gift for my parents and helped wrapped it up for me. I was happy that they were participating in the Taste of Georgetown, so I got myself a free mini Burdick cookie. It was delightful. Overall my experience was top notch if I could rate higher I would. I hope you guys don’t ever leave. Thank you Burdicks and I will definitely be back VERY SOON!!

What an exquisite shop full of eye popping desserts! The bad news is I am vegan and unsure if I can have any of them (will check). However, I ordered a box of the handmade chocolates as a “thank you” to a neighbor and the presentation was incredibly beautiful. I look forward to purchasing many more gifts here in the future. Why would anyone not go here over, say, Starbucks for morning drinks or pastries? The staff I met was lovely and accommodating.

The sign at the store front indicates that the best hot chocolate is served there, and indeed they serve you a very thick genuine nice hot chocolate, great for cold times.

It’s a shame I have to give them a one star! I actually enjoyed the chocolate truffles and cookies. But the service was terrible. After we purchased few different Different desserts and chocolates My wife wanted to go and use women’s restroom (she was eight months pregnant) and the young lady that worked there said I’m sorry we close in an hour and I already cleaned the bathrooms so just go up the street to the Pizza shop and they will let you use their bathroom.I was honestly shocked that somebody would tell that to their customers, especially when it’s somebody who’s very pregnant and can barely walk.My advice to this business is to hire people that are capable of providing decent customer service.

The absolute best hot chocolate in DC period!Also tried the Winter Collection a few weeks ago. It was so great. Champagnn, eggnog, grapefruit, stollen, rosemary & thyme flavors etc.We will be back soon.

I happened upon L.A. Burdick while wandering through Georgetown this past weekend; I had no idea I was there on (apparently) their official opening. I decided to check it out. The decor inside is heavy on the wood and (currently) a tad Spartan but I liked the skylight in the back under which I sat. The area around the service counter (for drinks and noshes) is a bit tight when passing through. (A woman asked me if I was in the queue. This is what I love about Georgetown: it feels like you are not in America at all, or rather that you are in the good America that is cosmopolitan and sophisticated, rather than Murica.) The place is a chocolate spot but I was looking for a coffee drink, so I split the difference and had a mocha. It was the best such one I have ever had; the chocolate was very much as advertised on the board outside, stupendous. Giving a rave review based on one encounter can be a recipe for regret, but I suspect future visits will not disappoint. A fine addition to the array of shops along the Wisconsin Ave. slope.

My first time at Burdicks Chocolate after discovering that they opened in DC. Drove there and was met with the most unpleasant experience by the woman whom we identified as the manager. I was the only customer in the store. Stood there as she ignored me and had to ask for help. Spent almost $100 and was treated pretty badly/indifferent by her. Needs customer service training shame that she is the manager. Her associate, the gentleman was very nice on the other hand.

Stumbled upon this place while walking through Georgetown. Great atmosphere inside; had coffee and one of their iced chocolate drinks, and both were really good! Highly recommended!

LA Buridick is my go to place when I have to make a special gift to someone. I used to order online but so happy they are now in DC. Enjoyed their iced chocolate and cookies very much!
