I was disappointed in the services received at this location. I believe my prescription, which had been different for over a decade, was underestimated. When I questioned the new prescription, I was told that “since you are no longer in school; you won’t be reading as much and your prescription does not need to be as strong”. This assessment was made with no regard to my current profession or actual comfort level. Further, when I order glasses and contacts; I was provide with no assistants or input on add on features or even things that could be added to protect the current frames. The last time I ordered glasses was over 5 years ago and I couldn’t remember all the features I requested; like scratch resistant or a thinner lens for the frame. It felt like I was an inconvenience for being in the office and the staff was beyond rude. Rudeness was displayed in body language, exhalation of breaths, delayed responses to questions, background conversations about other customers?!?!? (Hello, HIPPA??; well I guess office gossip and opinions are not included in this). The experience was horrible. When using insurance and having limited funds, it becomes more difficult to get a second opinion, due to your first examination not being an optimum experience.From a person wearing glasses since the first grade of life; (with eye exams every year); my first DC eye exam experience was horrible.Even worse when trying to purchase glasses and contacts; further horribleness during pickup of ordered products. If they don’t want to work there; then hire someone that is happy to at least be at work and eager to help customers. Or pay them more??? I don’t know what the issue is… but this felt like I was nothing and I should have known all the specials, spec’s and options available. Had I not asked certain questions (from previous experiences) I would have not known what to look for or question. Also, as technology advances, I am not being provided the latest options to make the best decisions. Ultimately, the company is and will lose out on money from not having qualified professionals in their office.Will never go back here.Do NOT GO!!!

Withholds patient information under the guise of HIPAA. Requires you to discuss information in person / in store only. That’s not how HIPAA works. Clinicians have phone discussions after patient verification all the time, per HIPAA guidance. I assume an unethical way to bring customers in store for sales.

This is the first time I visit Visionworks, and I dont really would like to come back. The Dr. was nice, and gave me good recommendations. However, Laniya was rude to me. I wanted to order something that she didnt have any idea about, and she just made me feel like I was just talking about something that it doesnt exist, her tone of voice wasnt very friendly, and that just made me feel very uncomfortable in front of the other costumers. I should have just followed the negative reviews in Google because they were not false statements.

Horrendous experience. Made my appointment, showed up on time, and doctor decided to take someone who came in after me first? After waiting 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, the receptionist still had no idea when I would be seen by the doctor. Glad I made an appointment, wasted my entire lunch break, and still didnt get seen. Just a totally, totally unacceptable waste of customers time. I will not be back.

I went in for a routine eye exam. While I was there, I asked one of the staff members to adjust my glasses. During the process, she inappropriately yanked the left temple of the glasses upwards and out of place — promptly snapping the Tiffany and Co. frames Ive had for 5 years. She then not only failed to apologize or offer me any compensation, but in fact had the audacity to tell me that I should pay $200 to replace the designer frames she just damaged. I asked to speak to a manager, who also failed to apologize and told me that there was no way to get my frames replaced because they dont carry Tiffany and Co. She then said that she didnt feel I needed a discount because my insurance would pay for me to get different frames that werent designer. I dont see why I need to change brands just because your employee doesnt know how to properly adjust frames. I was then dismissed from the store with said broken frames and the same lenses I had when I walked in (despite getting a new prescription) while being told that a GM would call me.The whole interaction was utterly ridiculous. Its apparent that these people dont understand basic customer service or how to complete rudimentary elements of their jobs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

The front desk staff was very nice but the Dr. was extremely rude. She was eating while giving me my eye exam and was rushing it because she clearly wanted to get back to her lunch. I asked her a few questions and was given one word answers. She needs to learn what customer service is, completely uncivilized woman. I will not be coming back.

I called ahead and made an appointment, spoke with a woman and gave her my insurance information. I was told to fill out the form online and come in for an appointment. After arranging child care and a very expensive Lyft I was told (once I arrived) oh sorry we don’t take“your “ insurance. What a joke. A literal waste of time and money.

I visited this store for my eye exam this year. Given I don’t particularly care for their selection, I had purchase my own designer frames prior to my appointment. Upon placing my order I was told my glasses would be ready within 7 to 10 days and to expect an email. After not receiving any word from Visionworks for more than 20 days, I repeatedly call the store but I could not get anyone on the telephone. After 23 days I finally got someone on the telephone who informed me my frames had been broken by their lab and I would need to return to the store to pick out a frame from their selection. There was no explanation for not contacting me or an apology for their lack of communication. I can get over my broken frames, i just can’t get over the lack of communication and the horrific customer service. After going back to the store to select a frame, I was told I would need to wait an additional 13 days for my prescription glasses to be ready. This store is by far the worst optical store and they have the worst customer service. It is unreasonable that they would make anyone wait over a month for prescription glasses. I will never use this store again.

What excellent customer service I received here! I arrived at this Visionworks location with no contacts or glasses, since I had ran out of contacts and my glasses recently broke. Ray and Nazaret went out of their way to help me out, from helping me choose a stylish new frame suited for my face shape, to contacting my old vision provider for my contacts prescription. They truly went above and beyond! Thank you for this wonderful experience, I will recommend Vision works to all my family and friends now ✌🏼

Remarkably friendly and helpful. Clearly working hard to take care of every patient and customer. Also honest about how best they can help and which services may be better provided elsewhere. Im very surprised by the other negative reviews. My experience has been so pleasant, Id recommend ignoring those and giving them a try. Astonishingly, I could have made a same-day appointment over the weekend. Get your prescription updated, get contacts, glasses, or sunglasses, and take less than an hour to do it all.

Dr. Keramati, the optometrist who works on Sundays and Mondays, is the best! Our whole family has seen her for years now. She is friendly, is patient with our kids, and takes as much time as needed to make sure we all get just the right prescription.The other staff are also excellent. Nazaret, who taught our teens to use contact lenses, is an expert instructor who really knows how to communicate with young adults in a way they appreciate. And Ray was exceptionally patient in helping me get my progressive glasses just right. The other members of the team are also friendly and helpful.Highly recommend!

The staff at this Visionworks were AMAZING. I’m from Florida but I was in DC this summer and got my glasses done there and unfortunately UPS lost them. With that said, the staff made sure to handle the situation well and were able to remake my glasses and resend them through USPS and I got them!Huge shoutout to Visionworks Tenleytown!

Dr. Keramati and the entire staff are so accommodating and make every effort to ensure each patient feels cared for. I have been seeing Dr. Keramati for over 10 years and she always takes the time to make sure I am fully satisfied with my contact and glasses prescriptions. I wouldn’t go to anyone else to treat my eyes. Even with my complicated case, she always gives me the best option. Highly recommended!

A few months ago we found out our 4 year old needed glasses. He was reluctant, hesitant and difficult when we went to Visionworks for our fitting and glasses. The entire staff was friendly, professional and really helped to calm our little one. Nazret the General Manager, was the BEST....she shared stories about her daughter to help my son. Although, this was months ago, I had this on my to do list because it was wonderful to have such an attentive staff! Thanks Visionworks and Nazret!

What a terrible place and where to begin. I guess first off, they lost my boyfriends glasses. LOST THEM. When you spend $300+ on glasses, the least you could do is not lose them, but thats just my opinion. It took them 3 weeks for them to come to the conclusion that the glasses shipped to the wrong shop, but its not necessarily that they lost the overpriced glasses, its the fact that every time my boyfriend called for an update, the employee said they would call him back by a certain time, say before noon or before 4 pm, but they never did. And this happened at least 6 times. When you lose someones glasses, you should have the best customer service to make up for the fact that youre an incompetent glasses store. But no, thats too much to ask for. He would need to call you every time because yall forgot to call him back. I work in customer service, and even if you do not have an update, you need to still contact the client and inform them of that so the client isnt just waiting around.Moreover, the doctor said that my boyfriend needed the glasses and could not in good conscious let him leave until he bought some because his vision is so bad, but to emphasize again, you L O S T them. It had been 4+ weeks before my boyfriend pulled the plug. This was absolutely too much leeway for a glasses company to take so long and still not locate the glasses.You should have given more than just a refund for this horsecrap of service. But I wouldnt even trust getting a second pair of glasses for free, because you couldnt even get him the first pair of glasses a month later.Please revaluate your business by first obtaining customer service and second, maybe deliver the only product you sell on time.

First of all I came to my appointment 20 minutes earlier, yet was taken in after at least 45minutes.I came in with an eye infection, but the doctor was very unprofessional and rude. Dr Donna told me that I must have been using cheap “bought somewhere online” and expired contact lenses, although my lenses were new and I bought them through Walgreens website. She tried to sell me some others contacts. Well the whole experience was unpleasant, not going back

Dr. Kermati was wonderful and the only reason why I bought glasses from this place. Places at the mall are much more welcoming and that says a lot. Visionworks needs to pay its staff better; they didnt offer to help and when I asked for assistance, I was meant with irritation (and no help).This is a convenient location for the AU community and yet this is the first and last time I buy anything from this location.One staff member told me something cost 150-750 and when I looked confused, she kept repeating 150-750. Finally, after my 4th question, she said 157.50. Nowhere in the world is 150-750 equivalent to 157.50.

Im a college student at American University, and this week is finals week. I came to the business today at 9 am, the opening time, and the business was not open. So I stayed to 9:10 am, and the business still was not open. Businesses have open times to serve the customer and I was not serve. I will be coming back later, in anticipation of them being open later, hopefully.

Literally just called to cancel my appointment on the last day of the 2 for $59 deal because the doctor had a lot of patients before and needed a break. If thats the case, dont list that particular appointment time on your website? The person that called also repeatedly asked me if I could come in earlier after I said (multiple times) that I couldnt.
