Everyone at this store is SO KIND! I had a problem with a towel rack, had to make multiple trips to the store and everyone that I talked to went above and beyond especially Eugene. Eugene showed me around, helped me understand the tools I would need, and overall was very kind and took his time making sure I would have the knowledge to fix the problem. He even let me return and exchange things when particular items wouldnt fit or be exactly what I needed to fix the problem. Thanks to Eugene, I was able to fix the problem, learn some new hardware skills and save myself a major headache. Eugene is the best employee Ive ever met! Thanks again for everything!!

My daughter lives in an apartment nearby, so I have stopped by here several times. The staff has always been very helpful, taking me right to the things that I need. They have plants and all the hardware you need for downtown living.

Most of the staff is great and kind! However, the cashier lady was very disrespectful to me. She asked me if I needed help, I said “yes, but he (the guy in front of me) goes first.” Then she raised her voice in front of other customers and said “I know that, I just need to know if you need help”.I must say that the rest of the staff was very helpful!Not really sure I want to return there.

The minute I walk through the door a friendly employee asks what Im looking for and they never fail to find it! The only downside is that it is a little cramped for shopping in a global pandemic, so try to go during off times.

Going into this Ace Hardware is like going back in time. Friendly, kind, and helpful staff who are always willing to answer any questions and help you find the right thing. I probably will never go to another hardware store in DC as long as I am able to get to this Ace, even if it is out of my way.

Staff was super friendly! I was asked right when I walked in what they could help me with. The employee directed me to my request and helped me choose an item without making me feel like I didn’t know what I wanted. The plant selection was also wonderful, especially considering it’s winter. Will definitely be coming here for all future hardware and plant needs!

Dog friendly, helpful staff and kind cashier, good selection and COVID regulations

I was on a mission walking towards the Target when I discovered this jewel of a store. I was under the assumption that Target was the only store in this area that could meet my hardware needs. Thank goodness I decided to walk because I am so glad I found this quaint yet well equipped store. Not only was I able to find the picture hanging kit I needed, Tim helped me find two plants! Tim was so helpful and kind that even and serial plant killer like my self was able to find two plants that can withstand my negligent watering schedule. He took is time and explained all the options, gave me suggested of sustainable care, and even helped me re-pot one of my plants!

For COVID they are only allowing a limited capacity inside. If the store is full theyll assign someone outside to let people in as people come out. Staff is focusing on helping customers get what they need and get out, so every time Ive been in Im approached almost immediately and led to the next item Im looking for. I was able to quickly get what I needed every time Ive been here since the stay at home. Im not sure if masks are required but Ive always worn one and it seems like everyone else was wearing them too. Though it youre looking for minimum exposure, the store is very close quarters and I was not able to strictly maintain 6 ft social distancing 100% though your mileage may vary.

This store is AMAZING. I moved here recently and every one of my apartment asks and needs were fulfilled by the Adams Morgan ACE staff. They also always try to get you things at the lowest price, I went in to pot a basil plant so it looked nice for when I had guests and the ACE plant specialist gave me a whole talk about basil and how once it buds the flavor profile changes so there’s no real point on spending money on a nice pot. So I was like ok bet I’ll get a cheap pot, but I still wanted it potted so guests would be like “nice potted plant” and so we went to the cash register and it would be like $8 for the potting service and he was like... don’t waste your money bud get this 79 cent water dish to prolong the life of your basil, but it will die. And so I left having spent 79 cents but so much more knowledgeable about basil

I was trying to make my bike more secure and I couldnt have received better service at a bike shop. The manager was so helpful I almost felt bad. Amazing customer service. Theyve earned my loyalty. Thanks so much.

I called last week for a heater part and the woman that answered the phone was polite and pleasant. She tried to find it but couldnt so she sent me over to someone who found it. It was only a dollar more than home Depot. Worth every single penny the excellent service

This place makes me realize why shopping online for hardware supplies is not the way to go. Employees are knowledgeable about issues and can steer you in the direction of the correct tool to do the job. Also I love the environmentally conscientious/sustainable items they sell in store as well as the recyclable bags.

This isn’t just my favorite hardware store... this is my favorite store of ANY kind in my neighborhood. Every problem is solved, every person has a smile on their face, and every time I leave feeling happier. Every single time. I love this place ❤️

Its hard to walk into this place and not have someone immediately ask if they can help you with anything. The staff here is great. They take their time and will stick with you no matter how long your shopping list. Great location right in Columbia Heights.

This is my local hardware store and I love it. The plants are great quality, I bought a philodendron 5 months ago and it’s still healthy and beautiful. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and helpful. I went in today to find the right screws for my plaster walls and a solution to bugs in my succulents, two different people helped me and knew exactly what I was taking about and what I needed. It was a great experience, I’m very lucky to have them close by.

We were looking to buy a sump pump, and the manager was extremely helpful. He looked at different pumps, made sure he had all the parts to the pump, even helped us decide if it was something we could do on our own or would need a plumber. Highly recommend this store.

Good luck getting a cashier....had $30 worth to purchase and at the register. Totally ignored, staff helping everyone but me....even the lady behind me in line. They dont want my $30? Ive always had a good experience here and its really nice to have a hardware store in the neighborhood. Good selection. Decent prices (and they regularly send coupons if you get an account). I see the reviews about them not being open when advertised, but Ive shopped there more than a dozen times and have never had that problem.

This is a decent hardware store, the staff are nice and helpful. I wish there were a wider selection of products though. My only other complaint is that the aisles are very narrow and hard to navigate without knocking stuff off the shelves. If youre claustrophobic this May not be the hardware store for you.

Small thinks like bolts, screws, gardening thinks, plumbing etc. store is smaller then Home Depot - They nicely feel gap of small helpful store there quick and easy you get stuff for home project also with advise.

A hardware store is defined by its employees. This place just alright. The employees need to know a little bit more and there need to be a few more, but if you have patience it meet your needs.

Dog friendly store that supports your local community. Associates were helpful and provided guidance on plumbing issue I was having and best way to resolve it. There seemed to be a solid selection of goods to aid in my project. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood!

They need to have their it department update their web page.they advertised on the internet that they were open on Thanksgiving only to have me drive all the way across town to find their doors locked. You have to pay for parking only to find that the store is closed. I will stick to the Ace hardware in Northeast at the brookland metro station.
