I started having problems with my 2011 Ford Escape so I went to my phone and headed to Complete Car Care, unfortunately they were really booked that day and also mentioned that the potential problem I had would probably be done better by Engine & Transmission Exchange. They also mentioned the great service that they provide. So I stopped in and witnessed a woman dropping off donuts to the employees, I asked Damon what that was all about and he said we just saved her a couple thousand dollars, because another shop told her she needed a new transmission, but in reality they were able to do some cleaning and maintenance and she paid way less and they fixed the problem. So before I even get my car looked at I could tell the company does something right. They assessed my situation, provided me a free loaner car and was able to complete the repair below the quoted price and faster than expected. I highly recommend Engine & Transmission Exchange!!!

Just had my hyundai sante fe serviced here again, would highly recommend ETE over any other auto repair location in the area. I have had my vehicle serviced here couple of times as well as other vehicles. The staff is always professional and understanding of any problems, questions, or concerns that I have had. They are also very good with giving detailed explanations of what problems they found with the vehicle, what was replaced/repaired, and what causes the issues and how to prevent them from occurring again. I am highly satisfied every time I go there. I have had many issues with other repair places around the area and ETE fixes problems right the first time and any vehicle I have had serviced here always runs like new when I leave. Illegal practices and questionable stories/details have soiled my relationship with ETE.Strike one: They illegally performed repairs on my vehicle without authorization.Strike two: They also illegally disposed of my parts without letting me have them.Strike three: Changing stories and details.ETE yourrrreee Outttt!!!!My simple brake job led to me questioning the thousands of dollars I had spent with them in the past.Look at the pictures for the. Who ARE these guys?!The check engine light had come on and acceleration was sketchy at best. So, following Jay Webers recommendation, I brought it to ETE in Waukesha and after searching for a vacuum leak for hours, they discovered the culprit tube that was worn at one end. A quick snip and reattachment - and voila. Problem solved. What REALLY amazed me is they charged me NOTHING for the repair! WHO DOES THAT?! Feeling like I had to give them SOME business, I asked about replacing my struts. He advised me not to because my SUV had a history of rusted rear wheel wells and that Id be better off just going with another vehicle in the next year or two. Again, WHO ARE THESE GUYS!? Vince at ETE went well beyond what I believe is good customer service. I had tried saving money by having someone do the work out of his garage. The car failed after he had is one full month. Vince not only had my car running in less than 1 week, but he told me this person had not even removed my old transmission. He is willing to give me an affidavit but to attend small claims court if I end up taking legal matters against this person. Vince will take great care of you and your car.

So they have a mechanic here thats fixs cars does did a hack job on my engine. Lied and titles hopped to even sell the car not directly the company but they know what hes doing out the back door so obviously their cool with it. Just a fair warning shady shop not trustworthy.

I dropped my car off on Thursday night and by Friday afternoon they had already looked at and diagnosed it. My transmission needed to be reprogrammed and they did free of charge. They were very professional and and I really appreciate them!

These guys tested and looked for anything wrong with a car that i brought in for a clutch replacement. Instead of just replacing the clutch disc and calling it good for me to pick up a much larger bill later, they found that the flywheel was well out of factory spec and needed replacing as well as an oil canister leak that kept my car smelling like burnt oil every run time. They were quick and a pleasure to work with on getting my bmw back in ship shape. Will recommend anytime.

My daughters car started flashing and sending messages that there was something wrong with the fuel injection system. She goes to school in Waukesha and we were trying to think about what we would do and then I remembered the commercials on WISN with Jay Weber talking about ETE. We called and set up to have her drop the car off and the next day it was fixed. Our experience was great and a very reasonable repair cost and we appreciate the quick service and the professionalism.

Was told that I needed a completely new transfer case and the quote 2K. I took it to a different shop since, and found out that I needed a new transfer case encoder motor and it was 580. Pays to get a second opinion.

I made it up to them by bringing my service work there going forward. So hard to find honest, professional and reasonable service work, so this is my new go to. Great communication too! Use the online request, I found that quite useful.

After listening to my situation, the manager told me,If it was mine, I wouldnt do it. Its got this far, and messing with things in balance like that can cause more problems than they fix.These guys were honest enough to talk me out of giving them business. I dont know what could be a better marker of a square-dealing business than that.

Have had 2 complete engine swaps on two separate cars over the years and they did an excellent job each time. the service here is top notch and this is a great example of, you get what you pay for.Their name is somewhat misleading as they do the whole gamut of car maintenance and services.

Couldnt quote a clutch and throw out bearing job for a 2015 Subaru with out me bringing it in. I got 3 other places to quote me over the phone. Not sure why they couldnt.Edit for reply: I asked and the guy said there was no way possible to get a quote without seeing the car. He didnt ask any questions about how it happened how it was behaving. I even asked if I could get a rough estimate of what those jobs cost and he was unwilling to work with me. Poor customer service and poor excuses from the owner.

I had heard really great things about ETE on the radio so I took my vehicle there. After a thorough inspection they did not agree that I needed to have that work done.Staff was very friendly. The best repair facility in Wisconsin. Took an older vehicle in for suspension work. I knew it was going to be expensive with two other quotes being 1000+ for the needed repairs. I took the vehicle to ETE and they were under 1000 with better parts and a faster turn around. This is the only shop I will take my vehicles to period.

Never great when you have to come here.. at least for me it always means major repairs. Very friendly but theyre so busy all the time because they do reputable work, that it takes a while to get your car fixed. This time it was head gaskets and radiator...7 days and a hefty price but at least I should be good to go for awhile! And they warranty their work!

They were great with customer service! They made sure the job was done right. The manager personally called done each time and took the time to explain everything. I had to get a head gasket replaced and when a few other issues arose he just charged me for labor instead of jacking up the price. Great place and I’d recommend to everybody!

People who know what they are doing! I took our Yukon in for a FREE estimate for what I thought would be a major repair. I was concerned ETE would find the engine needed to be replaced, or at a minimum be rebuilt. Instead, Vince personally road-tested the Yukon and reviewed the findings of the Mechanic checking codes, etc. Turns out that the engine just has some wear due to having 202,000 miles on it. The problem I saw was an anomaly that might occur again, but in the meantime we should just drive it; just watch the oil consumption. ETE spent 2 hours checking over the Yukon for NO CHARGE. Thank you. We will be back when we need major work.

They have worked on my cars for years, from engine replacement to brakes, last year I replaced entire front steering, rack and pinion ect. The parts failed and I had to take it back and have it fixed, they charged me nothing parts and labor. Dealership would have charged labor at least. I cant say enough good things about these guys, friendly honest and they stand behind their guarentee. Flat out nobody is better than ete waukesha. Thanks ete lifetime of loyalty you earned it.

Great service! Great price! They lived up to everything said in Jay Webers commercials. Engine timing on my 2009 Traverse was fixed at significantly less than a dealership and no problems since.

Radio ads are one thing. Experiencing it first hand, that is what counts. At the urging of a friend I brought my SUV in for some A/C work. I knew what the issue was and more importantly knew that what I was told by the OE Dealers service dept wasnt an accurate representation of possible fixes. ETE gave me the straight scoop, the fix was 25% of what i was quoted by the OE Dealer and I have my A/C back! Integrity is a rare find in auto repair...but I found it. Well done and anything of significance I need done to my vehicles...I know now where to go. Thank you.

Had to get my Jeeps computer recalibrated-twice. They did it for free. Currently its in for new control arms and was done in a day. Dropped my review to 4 stars after finding out my fender liner pins were never replaced while the vehicle was in and have been wearing away by rubbing on the tires.

I still have loud noises from the truck that I asked them to check. They put the shocks on ok. But didnt find out anything with to noises. Now I will take it to another place and get it fixed.

They were fair & honest with their cost for repairs. Their timeline was really good too. They knew what they were doing in regards to car repairs. Would definitely go back to them again..

I cannot express my gratitude adequately to Vince and the staff at ETE! My van would not start on a Saturday evening....there was a veritable light show with the dash lights flashing and constant clicking sounds under the hood. I called the emergency number and within minutes Vince called me back, (he was four hours away on a vacation weekend, but stated that he loves his job and had no problem calling me) assuring me that there was no danger and that I should have the van towed to ETE on Monday. They provided a superior company, Rhode towing, to pick up the van on Monday....and by 4pm let me know that the issue had been fixed. The staff is personable, professional and most of all, reassuring. I have complete trust in this company and would not hesitate to use their services and recommend them to family and friends.

Damon and Vince have always dealt with our car issues promptly and efficiently. Over the years, weve had at least four different vehicles repaired by ETE. Their prices are fair and theyve always been honest about what needs to be done! We dont hesitate to use them, but they are usually busy because theyre so popular.

I visited Engine and Transmission repair on Wed., Aug.7th, the day after I visited a local dealer to have our 2012 Dodge Journey looked at for what I thought was a transmission problem. The car has under 100,000 miles on it and by all accounts, the 4 cylinder engine in it is not nearly the power a vehicle that large needs. It was suggested the engine would wear out before 200,000 because it is constantly laboring to pull such a heavy load. At any rate, the dealer told me we needed a completely new transmission after charging us 142.00 for the diagnostic and the soft wear update. The service man I worked with was all ready to hand me the keys to a loaner, have me leave the Journey there that night and gave us an estimate of over $3,000.00 to replace the transmission with a rebuilt one. To be honest, I do not know what the going rate for replacing a transmission with a rebuilt one but that was above the range where I would just say go ahead without talking to my husband and getting a second opinion. The car has been maintained very well, oil changes every 3,000 miles, rotating and replacing tires as needed etc. So on the recommendation of my mother, I took the car into Engine and Transmission Exchange the very next day for another opinion. I worked with Vince who I found to be very helpful. He answered all my questions and did not treat me like a no nothing woman. You never know when you have a woman who grew up around cars, whose father owned a body shop and who had been taught to listen and feel for things that seem out of the ordinary when driving. Vince ran the diagnostic as he drove me back to work and the results showed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission. He put the car up on the rack and found no leaks of any sort, was impressed at how clean even the underside of the car was. Vinces feeling was that the software needed to be updated ( we had never had that done since we bought the car with 30,000 miles on it so it was still responding to the way the previous owner drove. Vince explained that over time the updated computer would learn my driving patterns and adapt to them. The car has not kicked or wound up as tight as a drum before the transmission shifted since the update. Vince did say we would be wise to trade in the car now as it is very underpowered with a 4 cylinder engine and the whining we sometimes here is the engine laboring to respond to whats being asked of it. It does not do well getting on a freeway or in any case where the exhilaration has to be quick. We have done some further research and the results of putting underpowered engines in full size vehicles has been less then stellar. After all this, Vince charged us nothing- just asked that if we felt he had been honest and trustworthy that we come back when we did need service. Vince does not sell cars so he had no reason to recommend that we trade the car now and in fact would have made more money as the engine failed little by little and we ended up with a worthless vehicle. I highly recommend Engine and Transmission Exchange in Waukesha. I only worked with Vince and found him to be easy to understand and friendly. We usually only go to the dealer for recalls on our vehicles and after this, it will stay that way. Thanks Vince- both my husband and I were very impressed with your service. You saved us over 3,000.00. and gave us some very valuable advice. You will be seeing us again- hopefully not soon or often but you have won our business.Eileen Warren

We were getting the run around from a dealer on a warranty repair for our car which caused me to have to do some research.Vince spoke to me on the phone, emailed me and took the time to watch a video of our car and give his opinion. Great service. Was a little confusion when my wife was dropping the car off as to why it was being dropped off. Recommend noting reasons on a computer vs a small note on a desk calendar but the service was still good. Looking forward to going back. Will return.

If you ever wanted to find an honest and competent mechanic, you do NOT need to look any further. On numerous occasions, they have done the right thing and not the expensive thing. We had a problem with a check engine light that was due to an evaporative leak. We had a smoke test that was inconclusive. The problem continued intermittently. Instead of recommending a replacement of all of the possible sites of the leak, they did the smoke test again, found the dry-rotted hose and replaced it. When I asked how much, they said NOTHING ! It was included in the cost of the initial test. An incredible place. Cant recommend them more highely.

Absolutely great experience. Ive gone there on multiple occasions and each time theyve explained what was wrong without adding additional problems that arent actually there (other car repairs have done this to me). Their costumer service is great and they dont over-charge like most car repair companies.

These guys are a huge operation disguised as local mom and pop. They know the hard parts, will work with you to get you in and out efficiently and are great to work with. This was even after hassling these guys with a customer bought transmission that they had to work with me to send back.Vince, Max and the rest of the crew (including momma bear on the phone) were all great to work with, they totally without a question knocked it out of the park.Transmission shifted way better than I expected and Im certain Ill be able to update this post in a couple years that the factory undersized transmission is still kicking.

My son was visiting for the Christmas Holidays. He drove from Virginia and noticed a noise coming from the front wheels of his car. We suspected wheel bearings. Having had previous good experience with ETE Waukesha, I called them and spoke to Damon. Damon told us to bring the car in next business day, first thing in the morning and theyll take a look at it. After about 2 hours of dropping my sons car off, Damon called, confirmed that both front wheel bearings were bad, had the parts in stock and would have the car repaired by the end of the day. Mind you, this was within a couple days of calling ETE, a couple days before New Years Day. Picked up the car, bearing noise was gone and the repairs were not only reasonable but considering the short notice, very appreciative of the speedy service as my son needed to get back to Virginia a few days later.Damon is a true asset to the company and Engine & Transmission Exchange of Waukesha is a jewel in auto repair shops.

I had an engine replacement done by ete 3 years ago and had my headers replaced by them also a year ago and they started to leak they stood by their work and had it fixed quickly with no charge this place is top-notch. If you need work done quickly and at a fair price I highly recommend going here.

I go to them with any issue I have with my car whether it’s breaks, an oil change, a battery or alternator issue, or even just to scan my check engine light. I have had nothing but good experiences. I am not one to write reviews often, but I wanted to share the experience I had at ETE for similar folks who are skeptical of auto repair shops. I heard about this place on the Jay Webber radio show. I had hoped I would never be in need of their services, but a transmission issue prompted me to request a quote on their website. My weekend email received a quick response late that Sunday night. I was told to bring in my vehicle the next morning so they could take a look at it and let me know what I was dealing with, and what options were available. When I arrived, the staff greeted me and Vince came out and introduced himself. I wasnt there for 5 minutes and he had my car in one of their bays and was taking a look at it. He checked out how it was operating, pulled some codes and asked me some questions about when the problem started, etc. He had obviously done some homework on my make/model prior to my arrival. He explained what was going on in detail, what options were available and how much each would likely cost. He even took me back into the work area and showed me similar cars he was working on, calmly explaining what my vehicle would require and actually showing it to me on these similar vehicles. After taking up 30-40 minutes of Vinces time and learning alot more about my specific vehicle, the repair would cost several times what the vehicle was worth. Vince came right out and told me that unless I had some nostalgic or personal attachment to the vehicle, it probably wouldnt be worth fixing. After that he handed me my keys and said let us know if we can help you with anything else. Have a nice day. I was totally blown away. No charge, no diagnostic fee, no nothing. Ive been to many, many dealers and autoshops in 30+ years of driving and have never met a more honest, up front, thorough, non-condescending shop owner/operator. Vince, you sir and ETE will be seeing me again when I have my next vehicle issue. Hopefully later than sooner if you know what I mean. Thank you again for your assistance/advice.

This is the best place Ive ever taken my suv. A 2000 oldsmobile bravada platinum. Ive had it 3 months. I took it in for an oil change and told them something seemed loose because it vibrated every time I put my foot on the brake at a stop sign or red light. Also there was a little leak in the radiator or hoses. I got it back yesterday. I called when I got home and asked if they gave me a different truck. It was totally different. Ran smooth, no leaks, and can get up to speed with no problems at all. I wont be taking my vehicles any place but there.

My mother took her car here to get an estimate on her brakes, they told her it wasnt safe to drive for even another week, gave her an estimate for over $800. I told her to take it to another place in town that was more reliable, they looked over her car and told her she needed absolutely nothing done. They also ripped me off on my transmission years ago.

Honest and Responsive Service.Took my car here to have a very weird noise looked into. I was convinced that something was wrong with my transmission since the noise only happened when in 1st and 2nd gear. Naturally I was bracing myself for the high cost of repairing a transmission when I received the call from ETE to tell me what the issue was. The gentleman stated it was just a loose heat shield and they took care of it. Due to the location of the heat shield it sounded like it was coming from the transmission. Later, when I picked up my car they simply handed me the keys and said Youre all set. These guys took care of my issue free of charge and didnt try to take advantage of me. Granted, anyone can tear off a loose heat shield, but it still takes time to diagnose weird noises and they didnt try to take me for the fool that I am when it comes to cars. I greatly appreciate the honesty and integrity of the team working here.

I found it hard to find an place I trust with my Escalade. I dont even trust my dealer however ETE has done several service jobs on my vehicles. It always fell with in my budget and the workmanship was great. They did not try and sell me what I did not need. I dropped my vehicle off and got a ride back to work in Waukesha. They even made sure I picked up my car on a Saturday. I usually do my own work however when it come to big jobs I call in the big guys.Thank you ETE job well done
