Awesome place! Everyone is super nice and knowledgeable and they have a great selection of guns, ammo, etc.Gunsmithing is top notch, with minor modifications having quick turnaround times.Ill be back!
This place is great! They have a team that all know their stuff. Bryan is the best gunsmith I’ve ever met. Tom teaches a great Home Defense & Concealed Carry course. And they’re the only place in town who’s had ammo through the last year.
Above and beyond service. This place is welcoming and very helpful. As someone looking for their first firearm, this place took more time to show me the guns, how to handle them, how to take them apart. In todays market if you find something you like and dont buy it right away, by the time you turn around its sold. I decided to proceed with a guy I knew nothing about. During the background check I backed out and wanted to do some research on the gun first. I returned a week later to find out that the owner had set it aside for me even though I didnt even put down a deposit on it. This was awesome, I cannot express how much I appreciated this, I thought it would be sold by now and Id have to start my search all over again. But thanks to NorthStar Im now a proud gun owner.Ive also read the reviews on here. There are a lot of them claiming price gouging. Yeah, the price was higher then MSRP online, but its not that bad. Its simple economics right now, supply and demand.
They had my ammo, very knowledgeable, friendly service. I would highly recommend them for both the novice and experienced shooter.
Had work do on my 1911 by Bryan. Very friendly and helpful. Couldnt of had a better experience. Any gunsmithing I would highly recommend Bryan Wolfe from Northstar Gun Works LLC.
I recently was in need of some machine work on a small part for a howa 1500 bolt. I was given the name of NorthStar Gun Works by another gun shop in Milwaukee who was unable to do the work. I contacted NorthStar Gun Works and spoke with one of there Gunsmiths I told him what I wanted I wanted to be done.He told me exactly what was needed as well as what the cost would be. I went out to. NorthStar and was advised that they were a bit backed up but I should leave the part and they would get to it when they had some time. The next afternoon NorthStar contacted me and said my part was done. I went out to there shop and one of there gunsmiths showed me my part and the bill for the work that was performed. The bill was exactly what was quoted. I also had a chance to look around there shop and was surprised to see all the quality of the firearms they had on hand as well as telling me that they can build me any kind of custom gun I would like to have built. I am completely pleased with NorthStar and I am looking forward to doing business with them in the future. Thanks NorthStar. I can’t say enough about you guys. I’ll definitely be back. Col. From start to finish my first experience was great. The guys at the gun counter explained how half a dozen different platforms of guns worked and help decide what I should get for my home defense. The ower then introduced me to the Instructor and I learned so much before even taking a course I signed-up for the Concealed Carry & Home Defense course on the spot and was even able to take the coursebook home to review before the class. This wont be my last purchase from these true professionals.
Great place, friendly staff, competitive prices! Thanks guys!
North Star guns is a good place for buy, trading and selling gently used weapons. Remington… Winchester… S&W… Vintage firearms Etc
Very friendly knowledgeable staff I will definitely be going back
Very knowledgeable staff. Quick, painless transaction, and I’m very happy with my gun purchase. Got price gouged on ammo, which sucks, having purchased a firearm, but it is what it is. Will likely do business with again.
Small shop with a decent tactical selection. Friendly staff. The gunsmith builds some amazing custom comp rifles.
Very friendly, helpful staff. They spent hours to explain everything. Definitely going back
Friendly helpfull staff, my circa 1959 model 94 winchester has action like a New rifle thanks to this gunsmith .
Very professional & informative on firearms & accessories. Steve is always friendly, helpful, & easy to talk too. Sold my pistol on consignment, Steve immediately called to let me know. I look at North Star guns as a mom & pop like business, where the customer comes FIRST. Their gunsmith Brian does OUTSTANDING work. Took my AR-15 in for service & got it back better then the manufacturer. I haven’t had any problems with it since. Any additional firearms work, I automatically take to Brian at Northstar Guns.
If you are looking to work with someone that is at the top of their game, this is the place to go. These people are very professional and very knowledgeable. This was my first time there and I felt like I was a regular the way they treated me. highly recommend!
Outstanding work for a fair price. I had a drop-in trigger replacement for an M&P Shield that they were able to turn around in less than a day. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend NorthStar Gun Works for your gunsmithing needs.
Just came here to get my jammed 12 gauge fixed, and they not only fixed/checked it for free but were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great place, would recommend to anyone in the area
Ive known Steve for most of my adult life. He is among the few Ive met that I would trust with my life. He works hard to be fair and put out a great product. He is knowledgeable in his trade and will do his best to do right by ya. This isnt a chuck in the truck business.
The bad reviews of this place are almost funny but shows the naivete of some in the gun world. The guy complaining of ammo prices has obviously not found ALL the big box stores are sold-out of ammo an hour after they get it in.The guy(gal?) complaining about the AR looked online but probably doesnt realize even online sellers are backordered for weeks. Getting ANY AR for under $700 right now is rare.
Great experience purchasing through NorthStar Gun Works. Top notch customer service. Didnt have the SIG I was looking for in stock, but had it in my hands in less than a week. Highly recommend!
Took in a Colt 1911 to get the slide re-done after it had been drilled and tapped for a sight. They did a fantastic job returning the gun to its former beauty and I couldnt be happier with the result. Great business that does excellent work at a great price! Highly recommend.
Steve and Brian are amazing, have had several guns worked on and built here, I send everyone to them!!!
Upon meeting Steve and Bryan I knew they were talented guys who knew guns... VERY WELL. I had Bryan mill and mount a Holosun 507K on a Glock 43x - He took care to get a special tap for larger than stock screws, his mill work was precise and crisp.. Long before Glock ships the 43xMOS I have one and love his work!
Great place. Very knowledgeable and fair prices. One of the few, if not only places with a gunsmith in the milwaukee area.
There was a problem with some of my paperwork from a previous business. Steve made sure to get it right and after a long process, made sure I got the item I was owed.
Worst experience and last from them. I am a first time gun buyer and had no knowledge about guns or prices. So I went in and bought a used dpms a15 for 699.00. I came back ho.e and decided to do more research and found out brand new range from 500 to 450. I called them and talked to them about it and they wont even refund the product. This is price gouging and would not recommend this place. They will take advantage of you.
Very nice people with a lot of variety. And they by far have the most guns during the corona virus.
The owner, Steve, is so helpful and knowledgeable!!!!! I strongly recommend this store!!!!
I took my AR-10 to Bryan to investigate a problem cycling a round. These guys are great, found the problem (head-spacing) and repaired it quickly and very affordably. I recommend them for any work you need done.
Price gouging. No one in their right mind would pay $1 per round for 5.56. Only people with 5.56 but for $1 per round might as well wait.
Had work done on my ruger 44 magnum rifle. North star gun works had to end mill out a screw and the gun came back like new. I recommend this gun shop to everyone looking to get their guns fixed.
Amazing skilled staff, highly recommend
Very professional attitude and reasonable price
I had problems with a 1967 Winchester 670A safety this year. When I went to check on this rifle before Deercamp, I found that my safety had seized up on me. I took apart the bolt and cleaned it thoroughly. My safety still wouldn’t function. I took it to another Milwaukee Area Gunsmith, and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. It took him a week to diagnose that he couldn’t fix it, and he still charged me. When I called Northstar Gun Works, Steve Koenig (The Owner) told me to stop by. He introduced me to Bryan Wolfe their Gunsmith. I took 30 seconds to explain what was wrong to Bryan, and he told me he would be right back. I talked to Steve for about 10 minutes and Bryan had returned with a fully-functioning rifle. Northstar Gun Works is phenomenal. I will be recommending them to everyone I know. They have my business for life.
Swapped out sights on my pistol while I waited. Very fair price and friendly service.
Great place, everyone is nice and very helpful.
Great store. Very helpful and straight forward owners.
Steve is the best!
Wonderful service
