My experience at Stop & Shop was good this store is very clean and layer out very nice. Most of the employees are friendly they also have a great produce selection and a meat section. But the prices are a little high and I was at self checkout and needed help the black lady that was working at the self checkout was very rude and was yelling at me.

You used to be able to avoid the maskless checkout lady with the DIY stations but those have been moved and are not operational. Avoiding the West Caldwell branch for a bit.Edit: youll see a corporate copy pasted reply below which is lies. Most workers in the store are not wearing masks.

Absolute favorite place to shop Its clean everything is fresh the people are nice the cashiers are wonderful kind and considerate I dont shop anywhere else but stop and shop I love that place....

The absolute worst supermarket in my area.There are more than a few psychotic staff-members, (including one who has fights with unseen people), low-quality produce & a horrid fish dept.To add insult to injury, Peapod is the worst delivery service on the planet.There is terrible inconsistency in the quality of service from the drivers & on my last delivery, HALF of my groceries were missing. Damaged items were delivered on more than one occasion & the customer service # is a joke. Ive deleted my account & will not shop here any longer.

I went to another store closer to home before predicted snow and it was mobbed..went over to stop and shop and was pleasantly surprised. Not as crowed, well stocked, good prices, and very clean. My new go to!

Great bread selection and cheese, we love the rye bread also friendly personnel.

Its better than the other options in town, but not awesome. Much much cheaper than Jacks foodtown. Much less crowded than ShopRite.

Im here almost 5 times a week. This store always has what I need...normally a quick shopping experience.

I like self check i cant work as a cashier anymore and liked the job however im going for a career base job now something ive never done i would also add that the shopping place was very up to date in technology and clean.

With Covid-19 rapidly on the rise again, in addition to wearing masks I would like to see employees and cashiers using disposable gloves. The scanning plates and conveyor belts including the ones at self checkout should be frequently cleaned since they sometimes appear dirty. There is always someone standing in the front of the store to assist with self checkout issues. Why cant they carry a bottle of disinfectant and frequently wipe the areas clean? The carts are dirty and in bad shape and should be replaced with plastic made ones. They should be spray after use with disinfectant before bringing back into the store. Other supermarkets including Costco are following these extra safety measures mentioned here. I shop here frequently but am starting to feeling uncomfortable. Please put extra safety measures in place.

I came in today. Went to check out. The register had a light on. I stood there and waited. The two ladies standing by the wall just looked at me as one began to laugh. She said something about not doing something or that she cant. No one came to the register so I went to self check out. Needless to say I will not come back to this location. I usually get excellent customer service. Today I am extremely disappointed. Especially after watching her ring up another customer after I walked away who had lesser items. I had a lot of groceries and didnt want to hold up the self-check out but I had no other choice. As I was checking out I saw other customers leave my line. I am very disappointed.

Its a very nice grocery store with a good selection of products at a fair price.

The cashier was extremely helpful. She helped me save a little bit more money by explaining cartwheel and having me download it. We all like to save a little money especially around this time of year!!! Even told me to feel better because I had cold medication

S & S is not my usual place to buy groceries. I went here today because it had some really good specials. I bought the specials and found some other items that were priced very well. I was also impressed with the produce section. Id forgotten what a nice store this is.

There are two types of self check out, either scan your own items at the register or scan items with a hand held device while shopping, and both are great and save time. First visit to this store location. Deli was great! I love the store brand hard salami. Parking easy and the store is clean. I have an issue with the robot. I swear that robot is watching me all the time and sometimes follows me??? This is not first time nor first store it has happened at. I am not a shady person, just a very slow shopper. Also today, although courteous to a point my cashier was on the phone during my entire checkout! At times I thought she was speaking to me but no it was to the phone earphone. Surprised to see this at the front end. When I asked if a $5 coupon came off she said yeah yeah it came off. Upon looking at receipt, it had not and I had to go customer service. I have only recently begun shopping at Stop & Shop, I am a Shop Rite diehard. But have found the quality of meat much better at S&S. It is a cleaner store and easier to park. Just have to drive a bit further to shop.

I just started coming here and I was impressed. Great prices, produce is fresh. Great location-wise...it’s right off several bus lines.

This supermarket is clean and packed with fresh products. Employs are kind. The only reason why I dont enjoy to go there is m the robot. Sometimes I feel like that Im watched by the robot and Its a bit creepy whether its true or not. I wonder whats the robot for. I really hate that when its follwing me.

My favorite branch.Its always a clean and fresh environment.Carts and baskets are always in stock! Flyers are attractive and prompts you to buy even without an intention. Bathrooms are available for public use.Ample free parking within the strip mall so errands can be a breeze.Chase bank /ATM within the vicinity as well as several other banks close by.Produce section is immaculate, cheese/bakery is tempting.Freshly served food is available too for take out.Meat and seafood department is always inviting.Its so well organized you can find everything quickly! Cashiers are always pleasant and checkout is fast.

Its all self check outs.. you have a lady standing there who never acknowledges you or greets you. It would be helpful if they helped bag instead of stand around an empty store. And the robot is obnoxious. Clearly paving a way to eliminate any human interaction here. From robots stocking your aisles to all self checkouts.. this store feels cold and empty.

Stop & Shop blows away Shoprite & Most other Grocery Stores. They simply have the Best & Freshest of Everything that you could ever imagine needing or wanting to eat. They are more expensive than Shoprite or most other Grocery stores, but its well worth it. They have the freshest baked breads, pastries, cakes & deserts, as well as the Freshest fish, poultry & meats in their respective Departments. You will spend at least 1/3 rd more here than @ other Grocery Stores because they have so much more to offer that you find yourself purchasing Gastronomic Delights that you cant find at most other Grocery Stores. The Staff is Always there to help you get what you need & to get in & out in a timely manner. It ranks up there with KINGS & WHOLE FOODS. You can shop online & like most other Grocery stores, they will have your Groceries ready for you to pick up or some stores Do Deliver. I Definitely Recommend them.

This is a very nice store. They usually have items that are advertised on sale. The staff at the Route 23N store are most helpful and pleasant.

Stop & Shop is conveniently located and a great place to stop off in a pinch. It is a bit pricier than Shoprite but sometimes they have great deals. Items are fresh. The store is clean and most of the people are friendly.

I have been shopping at s n s every week since covid 19. I love the store so much. I do have a concern with the woman who watches over the self check out. She is not very nice and if you have a problem she huffs and puffs while she fixes it. I even said to her today Im sorry youre having a bad day. No answer. She just walked away. I am in the service industry and there is no reason to treat people like they are a bother. I dont know what her situation is but she really should be spoken to regarding what her position is at the store.

Basically an overpriced Shoprite with certain things shoprite doesnt carry. The deli meat service section is sparse but the little they have is top end. Not as much to choose from overall either. I gave it 3 stars mainly for convenience. Its usually not busy so I can get in and out fast. Sometimes it has a few decent sales but nothing to write home about. Convenient but pricey.

Stop & Shop stores are always clean and well-stocked. The aisles are wide, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Its a good bet to shop there.

Good selection and quality, but ShopRite usually cheaper. Never hard to park and near other stores like Marshalls and a great chocolate shop Bromilows.

This place is way too expensive for normal shopping. The only reason to justify going here is because the high prices drive away everyone else. So therefore the shopping experience is much better because you dont have to deal with the normal idiots that get in the way around the store, inline, or in the parking lot. Its almost like a luxury. Pay 15 to 20% more for your groceries in order to avoid people.

Odd layout as Im so accustomed to milk, eggs, bread being on the far left had side of stop and shop stores. Bring your blinders if you plan (or didnt plan) to shop within an hour of closing, employees will walk past your aisle,stone face; stare at you dead in the eyes, then check their watch.

It’s a little expensive for me but I like shopping there well organized.

Update: 6/22/19. Produce looks better. Perhaps getting good produce in the winter time is challenging. For the most part, Stop & Shop tends to have lower prices overall than their local competitors, especially when you use their card. I was also able to save the $0.40 per gallon of gas using their card at local participating gas stations. Reward points. Not bad. In the store closest to me, West Caldwell, NJ, the biggest issue of late has been finding expired items on their shelves. They dont do a great job of pulling them off when they restock the shelves. Tartar sauce above the frozen fish refrigerators was expired for months. Same with the Gorgonzola cheese spread in their cheese display. Really look close at the expiration dates before you buy. One nicety is the optional price gun you can use as you walk through the store. Scan as you shop and you dont need to scan again at the checkout, just pay. Overall, upgraded from 3 to 4 stars.Original posting: Regular produce looks terrible. Every bag of apples had at least one that was so badly bruised that it was oozing on the rest. Bagged salad was wilting, had to pick though the heads of lettuce to find one that was decent. Bananas were ok. Organic produce looks better, albeit more expensive. Rest of the store was pretty good, including the meat. Some items are more expensive than ShopRite, but there are some deals. No crowds like at ShopRite or Wegmans. Good for the shopper, bad for the store.

I used to work close to this store when they were first opening. I saw the grand opening sign and went in there.The young security guard girl was so rude to me, she screamed at me saying CAN I HELP YOU, TODAY IS FOR MEMBERS ONLY, so I left the store. Ive been a member of stop and shop for over 20 years. I called the manager and made a complaint, however the manager told me that the security guards are hired by stop and shop and theyre not employees of stop and shop.Since then, when I went to stop and shop I remembered the young rude security guard girl half my age,yelling, so I stopped going there all together.Used to be 100% stop and shop customer, turned to be 100% shoprite customer.

I like this place because its less crowded than Shoprite, has ample parking, and are open until midnight. HOWEVER, I have had major issues with a lot of their dairy products and frozen foods. Maybe its a refrigeration problem? Checking the expiration dates doesnt even matter, i always get clumpy half and half and sour milk. Dealing with their customer service is a whole other issue. They act like you are bothering them and have a major attitude problem.

There is never anyone at the checkout counters, when you finally find someone they act as though they are doing you a favor by ringing up your groceries. Its no wonder it is always empty.
