I stopped in at every supply house looking for a pass through window for my kitchen renovation, and even though the major window brands make them, none of the supply houses knew how to order them.I finally cold-called North American windows in West Chester and received a call back from Jim Hoffman. He immediately understood the product I wanted, made it work within the budget I had, and even spoke on 3-way with my contractor husband (who had no prior experience installing one of these windows). He was patient and knowledgeable and honestly, a breath of fresh air after getting the runaround from major supply houses.The window took about 3 months to make (as expected), but in the end I was in a time jam, and North American called me to let me know my window came in a bit early and they could deliver it the next day, ahead of scheduled delivery!Every part of the process of dealing with Jim and North American was flawless, fromOrdering to payment to delivery. In the future, I’m sending all my husband’s clients that want specialty windows to Jim Hoffman and North American Windows.
I have enjoyed working with John. He is extremely helpful in all aspects of the window and door process. He is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is right. I highly recommend them.
Very helpful with great pricing
John and his team at North American could not be more professional. Their selection and pricing are outstanding, and their installers were absolutely incredible. We enjoyed the process of working with them from start to finish. I’ve recommended them to everyone I know who’s in the market for windows or doors.
Terrible customer service and responsiveness. I had to follow up on an unanswered question about a small order. I received an incorrect invoice, had to get that fixed. I sent back a signed order for via email, which was ignored. I followed up a week later. They said they never received it. I forwarded the email. No sorry that happened; just an I have it now. They said could pay by credit card or check (100% deposit because special order). When I called to pay by credit card, I was told for the first time there would be a 3% surcharge. I said this had not been a good customer service experience. I was told I was being uppity. I said I would buy from another supplier, but NAWD has a monopoly on Kolbe in our area. NAWD person told me thats not true. I asked where else I could buy Kolbe products near me. He said, Im not going to tell you that.
Went in to North American to get pricing and availability on some doors, trim, and door hardware. I Picked out a few styles that I preferred, and Justin Hanrahan said he’d put together some pricing and email me. I checked out the Yale website in order to narrow down the entry door hardware and when Justin sent me a quote the entry handle was double the manufacturers retail. I asked if there was something different about the one he sent me that changed the price, and I got an email that pretty much said if you can do better then go ahead, and he stopped responding. Very unprofessional. I was treated as though I was looking at some bargain website and not Yale’s own product site. I was more than willing to support a local business over the orange and white place, and that’s what I got in return. Poor customer service.

Many thanks to Kathy Shomo for her advice, knowledge and professionalism and all the hours she took in helping us understand the process and installation of such a huge undertaking of 34 windows -- doors included !
