Definitely and by far Dupage Auto Werks ranks the highest marks when compared to VW dealers based on my own experience when it comes to VW service. Dupage Auto Werks has:1- Better expertise than VW dealer and they fixed the transmission on my GTI at a cost of $1400 compared to estimate of over $11,000 from VW dealer for replacing the whole transmission.2- Better price. Unlike VW dealers who only fix one thing at a time to keep having you coming back for repairs, Dupage Auto Werks inspect the whole car and fix multiple problems at the same and hence saving you money on parts and labor.3- Better customer service. A loaner car is always ready for me so I dont have to waste my whole day in the waiting area.4- Reliable and guaranteed repair. All repairs are guaranteed for 12 months or 12000 miles. By far, this is the best place in workmanship, customer service, and price when it comes to VW service in Chicago area. I took my GTI to Dupage Auto Werks to get the transmission fixed after getting estimates anywhere from $5k to $11k from various VW dealers. Dupage Auto Werks was able to fix my transmission for around $1400.Since then I have been taking my VW car there for all the service work that I needed. The owner, Dwayne, is a very honest person and always looking out for getting you the best price.I highly recommend this shop for VW service and I am never going back to VW dealers for service.

I have driven manual for decades and have never burned the clutch. Clutches should last more than 24K miles even aftermarket - son replaced it along with the flywheel and she drove like a Swiss watch for more than 75K miles until a hit and run totalled her. I do not wish to place blame the technician as my son is one too and they work like dogs - I am not sure what happened and things happen, I just can not afford to repeat the process. By the way, the aftermarket part was the same as we brought in to the shop and performed quite differently.

Miss diagnosed my car, very incompetent. Spent close to $3000 and car still ended up with check engine light on. Didnt tighten my oil filter,oil went everywhere. Didnt notice broken motor mounts

Did a once over to my newest acquisition and pointed out all the defects/problems that might come up on my used car. Great knowledge and fast service.

The few times that we have used this shop, the bills were always more than the priced quotes. Often by several hundred dollars. They repaired our air-conditioning unit twice. For nearly $2000 and two trips in. we were then told that it was always going to leak, because of how it was hanging improperly in the engine bay. The communication was also very poor quality. Several times it took multiple weeks for them to get back to us. Not notifying when parts were in, when they needed a response to continue work, or that a vehicle was finished. Overall, would not feel comfortable bringing a vehicle to them in the future.

We have been going to DuPage Autowerks for over 30 years. Dwayne Shilling and his team (Kevin, Rich, Mark, and the others) have always provided superb service. They have often gone above and beyond excellent service. I highly recommend them.

I dropped my car off there and Wayne and others were very considerate and realistic I bought a lemon of a BMW and after sending it to pep boys and the problems were not fixed due to their lack of knowledge and equipment, Wayne was very forthcoming and knowledgeable and fixed it like new and gave me back a whole new car at an awesome price he didnt throw in surprise charges and even gave my five year son ( who is so shy, yet took right to Wayne like he knew him) and gave him a hot wheels car!! Now Wayne has a little friend for life haha. But seriously it was an amazingly painless experience and done on time!!!

Be very careful when dealing with these people I took my car in for an oil change, they kept it overnight then sure enough that same week my driver side door just happened to break down, they charged me $1,500 to fix it. I also noticed other things going wrong that had been fine with the car.

As a 20+ year customer, I highly recommend this shop. While I do much of the routine service on my vehicles, I have relied on DAW for brake, clutch, suspension, and exhaust system work on several cars (VW, Hyundai, Mazda). They have also been very willing to share their knowledge and experience with me which is of great help with my own service work.

I had to have my 2002 Toyota Solara towed to this shop yesterday, and I had one of the best auto repair experiences ever with them. Mr. Shilling (the Owner) treated me with unbelievable kindness and generosity. The work was done fast, and at a highly professional level. I went out of my way to have the repair done there (16 miles one-way from my house,) and Im glad I did. They provided a free loaner car, and did the job in less than 24 hours. Their labor rates are very reasonable. This is a great alternative to the inflated service/repair prices you get at dealerships. Ive been trusting the staff here with my VW TDI for years. Dwayne is honest about what work needs to be done now and what can wait for a bit. They have kept my car in good shape for well over 100K miles and even stored my off season tires when I didnt have a garage. Nice guys all around.

My daughter, an Audi owner, referred me to Dwayne (owner) several years ago. Without question or doubt, the most honest, straightforward mechanic shop I have ever encountered barr none!!. He worked on my Audi and now my Mercedes E500.

I took my ML 350 due to a problem with the Engine. The drive chain had broken. The dealers recommendation was to repair and cost was something of buying another car! So, I took to Dupage Auto Werks. The recommendation is to replace the 118K miles engine with a much lower engine. They shopped and found a fimilar engine and practically did a Engine Transplantation! Now that I have an engine not only has a lower mileage, but also was cheaper overall. Very satisfied with them to have suggested and able to get my car worth somehting that I can keep it a much longer time!

Clutch was replaced two years ago, and 24,000 miles later it gave out. $1500 dollars later Im looking down the barrel of a new clutch. Aftermarket part was a dog.

Dupage Autowerks is a GREAT company! I bought a 2006 VW Golf TDI(Diesel) that had 325,000 miles on it from Dwayne 4 years ago and their service has always been honest and reasonably priced. On the 06 Golf Dupage Autowerks freshened up the motor rings, and bearings and went through everything that needed attention before they sold it to me. I recommmended my parents to buy a car from Dupage Autowerks as well! I have since moved out of state and Dwayne is always available to answer the phone if I have any questions about diagnosing any problems I may have on the car I bought as well as other cars that I did not buy from him when I am unsure. Dwayne is always very helpful and patient!I can tell you that if you are looking to buy a used car you should buy from Dwayne because it will be a good running car ready to roll for a long time!My VW Golf TDI just hit 405,000 miles and still runs better than the VW Jetta wagon TDI I just purchased from a private party that has only 133,000 miles! It seemed like a pretty clean car but upon doing an oil change and really looking around in the engine compartment, there are a bunch of little things that the general public will miss maintenance wise and cleanness of execution wise that was not missing from the car I bought from Dwayne.I would recommend anybody to buy their used car from Dwayne to make sure they are getting a solid vehicle instead of inheriting somebody elses problems....You just dont find shops that care to get it right like Dupage Autowerks does every time!

These guys are the real deal. My 2010 TDI threw a bunch of codes and went into limp home mode. I was told I needed a new turbo by more than 1 dealer/repair shop, including DuPage Auto Werks.I brought it to them based on recommendations from Star European Imports in Yorkville, and the TDI Forums.Good news! These guys bulldogged it and figured out the individual problems and fixed them. They could have swiped me for the big bucks like some I wont name here, but their knowledge, honesty and integrity are irreproachable.Google directions on my Droid has them on the wrong side of the street. There, I made a complaint..
