This place is terrible. I ordered a firearm on there website. The shipping was two day air, so day three I tried to call them no answer I left a message nothing in return. This went on for nine days I didn’t get my firearm nor did I get a phone call or a email about my firearm. Then day ten I finally got my money back in my account after ten days!!! I really thought I was getting scammed!!! I would never ever recommend anyone to this store. They don’t have the nerve to call you or email when there is clearly a problem!!!!

Rob is very nice and informative. He helped me choose two of my first guns & explained to me in detail about each gun and which one he thought would most likely work best for me. He even gave me some information about Illinois laws & stories from his own experience. Compared to other gun stores i’ve been to, this one seems the most professional and the prices are good. Ive had a number of transactions with them. Always prompt, but most important, they provide a lot of valuable information in terms of what you are looking for. Ammo options, firearm choices, pro choices, etc. Thumbs UP!

I have worked with Rob many times over the years. I have never been disappointed. Which is why I keep going back to him again, and again, and again! I understand that in recent months conditions make sales volume very high. Which makes responses a little slower, understandably. So these negative reviews I read, I find surprising. People are so accustom to Amazon or Wal-Mart with a dedicated customer service department, not small business personal service. Rob will take his time with each customer, providing personalized attention. If you are with him at his desk, he will let the phone ring to give you, the customer in front of him, 100% of his undivided attention, which I for one greatly appreciate! All to often, people are quick to write a negative review but slow to post anything positive unless they are overwhelmingly blown out of the water. Rob is the best, he will make sure you have the right solution for what ever your application, with the personalized attention to each customer that I know will make you a repeat return customer, just as I am.

Found a ddm4 pdw, the check out was easy, shipped within two days.They seem like a smaller staffed shop so you may have to call a couple times to get to someone but they are helpful and was able to check status of the shipping relatively easily.I just wish they would send out tracking when a weapon ships and maybe just call to makesure an item is in stock before going to purchase online. Would use them again but just remind you it will be a little slower than some of the bigger shops, but everyone is busy nowadays it seems.

I have been unsuccessful in getting hold of anyone there to sell me a gun. Left several messages no response or call back. Received one email response from Linda saying Rob is busy in some class and that’s it. On their site they claim to provide best customer service but in reality it’s no where to be found. You have customers asking to spend their money with you and you don’t have time to respond, too bad for you there are others who are hungry for business.

I’m a bit concerned my order has gone missing. It appears IFA will take your money, but when it comes to providing customer service: their service is 100% negative. I’ve left voice mails, emailed them my receipt and FOID, zero responses. Recommend you take your business elsewhere, other Illinois firearm businesses will be glad to provide service, and the product you pay for. Reporting to the better business bureau and my bank.

They have a 0 phone call back policy. If you are closed than tell your voice mail to tell your costumers you are closed. Because your voice mail system say. We will call u back does that mean today tommarrow or next year. This is crazy. U can call people back its not hard. U can also answer a phone.. costumer service. F-........

I found Illinois firearms and ammunition on accident but I am glad I did! Rob, the owner, was super friendly and respectful. He was low pressure and understood what I was looking for. I came in for a new cheap revolver for my family to learn on and he talked me into a used better quality one. He took the time to show me the differences and even then told me it was my choice and there was zero pressure. The gun was in excellent condition and he showed me how to use it and change out the cylinders. We finalized the purchase today and took it to the range. Absolutely love our purchase. So glad he talked us into the better gun. We are customers for life and would highly recommend this business.

Rob is nice and I have done several transfers through him but this last time has been a horrible experience. He was completely unreachable. I called, emailed and even showed up a few times but nothing for 2 weeks! I still have yet to get my transfer. This has been unprofessional and frustrating experience. No contact for 2 weeks and I finally get a call. Set a time 2 days later but that time came and went... More messages and emails and still no response yet. I have never experienced anything like this from and other business. How long does it take to send an email or call?! It doesnt matter how busy you are this is your business! Very disappointed and frustrated... And still dont have my transfer.

Attempting to provide a 2nd review on Illinois Firearms & Ammunition. Ordered my firearm March 20, 2020. I posted a review on this same post earlier this year, and the owner of IFA confirmed he would issue me a refund April 27, 2020. It is now June 10th, 2020. My refund has not been posted. I paid for a firearm that was never issued to me by IFA. They accepted my debit card payment, just never provided me with my purchase or my refund. That in a lot of ways screams fraud. Im not sure where to stand with IFA. Ive called time and time again, no answer. Ive emailed, zero responses. Ive called both locations nothing back from anyone at IFA. When exactly do you decide to call back your customer? Do you check your email messages? I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic but I imagine a response is well deserved being that I ordered almost 4 months ago.On standby with an order number, email, and phone number to talk to someone.

I am seeing several bad reviews over the past few months, and I get it. It took me a very long time to finally meet up to receive my firearm, also took multiple attempts to get ahold of anyone, which was challenging to say the least.That said, the firearm purchase and transfer business is unbelievably busy during this time. Us consumers are use to next day delivery of anything, but the state government alone is weeks behind on processing firearm transfers. Adding our next-day expectations to our boredom from being at home, maybe not working, etc. is really just causing frustration to something we’d normally be more understanding about. If you are buying another gun to be buying another gun, then please be patient, no business is purposefully trying to upset their customers by not answering calls, responding slowly or delaying purchases. I personally had to meet their firearm transferrer an hour away, I emailed him to let him know I was running late, but I missed my appointment to meet as his schedule was down to 30 minute windows and he had to do an appraisal in Wis. I drove an hour there, had my entire day planned to go to the range, go home and clean the firearm as my house was empty for the day and it was my “me time.” I the. had to wait another week until I was able to make it back out to his location. I was frustrated, but while I was waiting to purchase a firearm, someone else was also trying to sell a firearm, because maybe this whole event caused them to be in need of money?I am sorry to those who’ve had undesirable results, I feel for you as I did too, but there are reasons to why this happened and I personally will not let this impact my future business with IFA and look forward to when I’ll need assistance with another firearm because I know that they are doing the best they can to keep up with the demand, state transfer delays, and manufacture setbacks, and I know they will continue to do their best and that next time it will be a better experience.I’m not writing off Amazon for delaying my delivery by 3 weeks for a car part that was only 40 miles from my car, because they deemed it a “nonessential” item, just like I’m not going to let this experience impact my future business with IFA.

Ordered a gun online never showed up called an called the company emailed em 3 times finaly got an answer gun was damaged an they say they are sending me my money back but still no money. Customer service is really a joke left 3 voice mails no call back an no emails sents they said 4 days ago was returning money. Also never got a tracking number from them either dont buy from here go somewere else

I have to agree with a previous poster’s comments, Rob is a nice guy but have to work around his schedule and be willing to make multiple, multiple phone calls to get a response. I stopped using him when I ordered a case of ammo for a guys weekend at my ranch I was planning. Even with three weeks notice never got the ammo. I canceled the order and haven’t been back since. I probably would have given one star but again, not a bad guy. Just frustrating as heck having to constantly follow up.

I recently used IFA as an FFL. I found Rob to be very attentive and professional. I did have some concerns when I read some of the reviews. I contacted Rob and he explained what had happened (unforeseen, unavoidable circumstances). As a business owner I understand how this can happen, so I decided to give him a try. Great experience. I will use Rob again and also highly recommend him.

I was just leaving a 1-star review for a gun shop that scammed me out of cash. Amount is irrelevant, its the principle behind it. I believe Rob was send to me by GOD! My package was shipped to him by accident, shipper notified me of the error and I didnt know what I was getting myself into when I approached Robs house. I asked a few Law Enforcement buddies in town, they just told me knock and explain if they give it back then its all good. However I was face to face with this extremely nice man called Rob.He told me that he in fact did have my package. We filled out bunch of paperwork and the next day I picked up my lower AR receiver. My kids even came in with me which Rob and his wife accommodated as well.Rob has earned several new NRA supporting customers! If there was a need for a 6th star, this is it! A+++++ On service and accommodations.

He sold my guns on 2/20 and despite numerous emails, he still has not paid me or given me my paperwork. Now that its been 2 months, I will have to contact state police and a lawyer. This is absolutely ridiculous. Dropping a check in the mail only takes a few minutes from a busy schedule.

I will not use IFA again for a FFL weapons transfer. Terrible service. My shotgun arrived on 7 Feb and Rob was not available until 23 Feb. I certainly understand schedules / vacations..etc but Rob provided misleading info on his availability and then just went silent for over a week. Very clearly does not understand customer service - treated my weapons transfer with arrogant indifference.

The address is for a church, the other address in Addison is a car repair shop, no one picks up the call no one replys to emails, but they took my money. Going to wait another week to see what happens.

Nice guy, easy transaction, no problems, no worries. Gander Mtn. is less than 2 minutes from my house, IFA is 25 minutes away, for me, it was worth the drive to St. Charles. Looking forward to visiting his store opening in a few weeks.

I uploaded my FOID a long with my license to their website in order to complete the FFL transfer. I tried calling plenty of times, left several voicemails and NO RESPONSE. You have to be willing to work around Robs schedule and hope that he returns your calls. I ended up going to Marengo Guns. They only charge $15 for any FFL transfer fee they are friendly and will respond.

I actually would use no stars if it were available. I used Rob to sell several shotguns and a pistol. The selling process was very rapid, prices received were very disappointing.The issue is, I HAVE YET TO BE PAID!!!!!!!!

Just purchased a rifle last week through their website. I had them ship it to my local FFL here in Tennessee. It was a very seemless process. I had sent an email requesting a tracking number. Within less than an hour I got a response with the information I had requested. Total time from purchase to pick up was 6 days. Pretty good if you ask me.
