Went in for a tire and oil change for my car. Emmanuel, the shop owner took really good care of me. He valued my time and I was out of there quick. I can definitely tell he cares about his job. My father also comes in for his car and we can both agree that he values his customers!

ZERO STARS.There is ONE guy there altogether. ONE. And he does What he wants When he wants. Always changes story about car issues. Fixed minimal and claimed to fix everything. Deal here at your own risk.. not reliable. In and out over a year with same issue and stories changing. Never going back.

They advertise their oil changes at $34.95 and charged me $77 for a full oil change and didn’t even change my air filter, just told me it was dirty. I stood in the front area at the desk for 5 minutes before two people that didn’t seem to work there as they didn’t have uniforms on walked out of the Bay Area and waited another 5 minutes until the only employee working finally came out and was extremely rude when I told him I had an appointment. He then charged me the $77 and took an hour to change my oil and told me my air filter was dirty. About 3 or 4 more customers came into the shop and waited around before leaving because he didn’t come to the front. I feel like as a young woman, mechanics in this situation will over charge women and younger women because they know they won’t stick up for themselves because some of us don’t know what we’re talking about with cars.

Do NOT get your vehicle serviced here! They WILL NOT take responsibility for ANY damages that they do to your wheels!I have done business with this location off and on over the years without any issues. However, last Monday I brought in a wheel and tire from a 2016 Civic that was in pristine condition to have a tire leak repaired.The Manager performed the work, showed me where the leak was, and did the repair. Up until that point I was fairly satisfied.I was handed back the wheel and when I got it home to mount it back onto the car, I noticed a black ring of smudge around the center of wheel near the lug holes.It took a bit of effort to clean the smudges off, and afterwards it was reveled that were gouges in the clear coat, and scuffing down to the machined aluminum. The wheel had been damaged on the mount machine by the centering cone. The Cone was dirty, and when it was tightened down onto the wheel it made contact with the face and caused the scuffing.Not two hours later I went back to the store to discuss the situation with the Manager. The Manager started shaking his head no and began denying it before I could even finish speaking. He went out and inspected the wheel and said that damage did not come from him, which was a total and complete lie. He looked me square in the face and told me that he was not responsible.Now I am all for making mistakes. Things happen. What really torques me is the fact that the Manager of this location didnt even entertain the thought that he could have made a mistake and caused damage, or that he could have used faulty equipment. If he would have Manned Up to the mistake and taken responsibility, I wouldnt have a problem, and would most likely continue to keep doing business with them. Unfortunately that is not what happened.I contacted Meineke Customer Service and explained the situation. They took my information and told me that I would receive a call back in 3 days. I did not receive a call within 3 days. I called back and was given the name of the person handling the case, who is with a 3rd party company. I called and left them a VM, and it took another 3 days to get a response.When I received the call, I was told that the owner of this location is denying any responsibility, and because it is privately owned, Meineke will not help in getting the wheel repaired or replaced.So word to the Wise. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. They WILL NOT take responsibility, and they WILL LIE to your face to avoid any wrong doing.So to learn from my mistake, make absolutely sure to take a Photo of your wheels in front of the store using your Camera phone prior to taking them in to get worked on. Be sure to take pictures of any damage afterwards!In the meantime, these people do NOT deserve our business!See the attached picture for the clear coat damage.***Update*** 6/17/17I am updating this review to re-affirm my position that no one should do business with these people.About a week after Meineke responded to my review asking me to reach out to them, I did. I sent them my email, and phone number and I have heard NOTHING back! Further proving the fact that they are nothing but lip service.If that wasnt aggravating enough, I just learned today that the tire that they patched was done incorrectly and is not safe to have on the car. The car was taken to the new Discount Tire that opened on 86th and University to have the tire re-mounted to a replacement wheel. Meineke never did compensate us for the damage done to the stock wheel, so a replacement wheel was procured elsewhere.The technician who performed the work at Discount Tire noted that the puncture was not plugged, it was just patched. It has always been my understanding that when you patch a tire YOU ALWAYS PLUG IT! Otherwise water can enter the tire from the puncture hole, and start rusting out the steel belts within the tire, causing a compromise to the tires internal structure - hence rendering it UNSAFE.New pictures of the Tire are now attached.

I been here twice with two cars because its closest shop to where I live and I just moved to area. I would not recommend going here unless you are okay with dropping the car off and waiting two weeks past your appointment. I got no call of an update until I called. The diagnosis wasn’t right either and tried to charge me (which isn’t a big deal mistakes happen I can’t argue this point too much). The point that really upset me was that I was not late to either appointment for either car, first car the guy new I had to wait and it was an hour and a half before he pulled my car in and another 3.5 to replace all four brakes. I had to wait the whole time and he knew this.Second car, I kept calling for an update every 3 days as I was not late for my appointment that time either and when I got there I decided I was going to walk the mile and a half home rather than wait for another 4.5 hours or longer to diagnose an overheating problem and why the brake lights stayed on when car was off/why rpm gauge did not work. It was two weeks past my appointed time slot that I wasn’t late to and I was charged $230 to diagnose those two things. I wouldn’t waist my time here if I was you and I have NEVER written a review in my 23 years but I was so disappointed in this man and how he treated and talked to me that I ain’t gonna stay silent. I hope he do better! Bye now.

I have a Prius with 200,000 miles. The hybrid batter went out. Toyota wanted CRAZY money for a new one, but Mike was able to do it for 1/3 the price by finding an installing a refurbished battery. Now my car works perfectly!

Blew a tire and ended up with a dead battery that couldnt hold a charge. I had work so I couldnt be there when they got the car but they got all the necessary replacements done the same day. Staff was also very fun to talk to as well.

Excellent service. The nicest tech you could ever ask for. I asked him if he would be careful with my wheels while rotating my tires.I wasnt sure if he might be offended by my request but he told me that when he worked on his daughters car, she told him the exact same thing. He said that that the customer has every right to ask for that.I will return for future service.

My muffler fell off while 3 /12 hours away from home at a church conference. Emanuel at Meineke got me in right away, and was able to get me back on the road in time to get home. He put in extra effort to get the job done quickly and affordably, and was incredibly courteous and helpful. He did good work at a very fair price. I HIGHLY recommend this Meineke location. Very helpful when I was in a bind away from home!

I usually go there for oil change but I like the fact that they also do a complementary vehicle inspection and give you a detailed report. I used to take my old 2001 car and now I take my 2015 car and I can tell you that their feedback about your car is very genuine. They clearly tell you which parts need immediate attention and what can wait, based on the age and miles of your vehicle.

Overall decent service. There was only one guy working the counter who also was the mechanic. He unfortunately was distracted by phone calls, customers and had to wait to get my parts which resulted in a long wait time. For rear brakes, brake fluid and rotor replacement it was almost 4 hours. I’ve had good service at Meineke just not this location.

Came in with loud grinding in my front brakes in my 2013 Dodge Avenger. Didn’t have an appointment on a Saturday morning. Got in, was inspected within 20-30 mins. Guy brought in front and back brakes to show me how bad they were. Also said needed new rotors on the front, but the rear rotors could be rotated. Gave me a complete price for parts, labor and tax. Took about 2hours. When I came to pick up my car, there were no surprise charges. Both people I dealt with were nice and friendly. This Meineke is also part of my Synchrony Car Care network, so I get 6 months no interest if paid in full. Happy with my experience and will go back if I need other work done.

I am severely disappointed by the service at this shop. I brought in my own alternator and was charged $500 to install it. Unheard of. I was straight up lied to and told an alternator was three hours of labor. They take twenty minutes to install. The $70 diagnostic fee was ridiculous and left on the total price. I was never informed my car was completed, I had to call back three times to get an answer on my car being completed-- two days later. It was an easy twenty minute installation. My car broke down in a neighboring parking lot and I dropped it off here not thinking much about it-- I literally would have saved HUNDREDS getting it towed and worked on at a corporate dealership. Place is unprofessional and the man running the counter was annoyed at me asking about cost. Customers have the right to ask. I was quoted $300 flat, which is still unreal, to install an alternator and the end price was just under $500. I had no choice. This shop is robbing people blind.

I got my 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L for an inspection. Reasonable price and genuine report stating exactly what had to be replaced. I was shown the exact part to be replaced and why it has to be. Ive inspected the same with another car care center who quoted $1300 for all brakes and rotors to be replaced (I never felt any need for the brakes to be replaced while driving). On my next visit I had taken for the Alternator to be replaced and got a reasonable quote for part and labor. Very transparent. Explain things clearly so we understand. Thanks Emmanuel and John.

Will NEVER go back to this location. Making an appointment for a simple break inspection was an inconvenience for the tech at the front desk. “Why?” Is not a proper way to answer the question “I am looking to set up an appointment to get my breaks looked at”.Let alone when I went to drop off keys the tech was more invested what was on TV than telling me how long it would take. Didn’t even say a word to me just held his hand out to take my keys.Then picking up the car...was never called my car was done. Then when I was going to get keys he was too invested in his cellphone call that all he told me was “Nothing is wrong” then walked into the back. No paperwork, no anything. I expected the percentage left on my breaks and condition of rotors. 0/10 on customer service!

Avoid like the plague. When we were just going for an oil change and a tire rotation, things were fine. However, when it came to something more complicated, theyve proven themselves to not only be liars but incredibly incompetent and agonizingly slow. Long story short, they didnt fix the problem we paid them to do and then blamed us when it became obvious they made the situation worse. They ultimately refused to hear our complaint directly and referred us to Meineke Corporate. I received a voicemail from Corporate 3 weeks after I reached out to them whereby they claimed their only role is to mediate between the customer and the store. No resolution. Just a family van still in need of repairs we already paid for.

UPDATE: Even though the court order stated Judgment shall be entered in favor of Plaintiff(s), against Defendant(s), in the amount of $2,635.53plus interest at the rate of 4.68% per annum from 12/21/2018 plus court costs. Defendant(s) is (are) to make the payment directly to Plaintiff(s). They still have not paid the full amount. They paid the 26.35.53, but refuse to pay court costs and interest even though it took 54 days after court to pay and me writing the review below. I attempted to kindly call attention to their error thinking they had simply misread the order, but Emmanuel starting yelling and interrupting before he hung up.In addition, the check he had written had my name spelled incorrectly, despite being clearly printed on the court order (showing more failure to notice details). My bank was hesistant to deposit it with the name being mispelled, but allowed me to do so due to my longstanding relationship with them. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO MEINEKE in West Des Moines! They do not pay close attention to details and if this results in your car having additional problems, they may not take full responsibility and, at least in my case, may not follow a COURT ORDER!Take your car ANYWHERE else. I took my car here. Had to sue after their negligence or incompetence ruined my engine and they have yet to pay. (Judgement was over a month ago.)Took my car here for scheduled maintenance. They put the timing belt on wrong and knocked pieces into the engine. I took it back in and they told me that the replacement had been done right and the computer just needed to reset. I took it to another mechanic and found out the new timing belt was already junk, less than 20 miles after installation. (These should last about 120,000 miles.) I was also informed that the engine needs rebuilt. Clearly not trusting anything Emmanuel (works here) states, I contacted corporate. Corporate explained that they dont have any influence over the shops themselves. When I tried to get a hold of the store, they were closed and remained closed for about 6 weeks. They refused to pay to fix the engine, and since they clearly couldnt put the part on correctly the first time, I was unwilling to have the same individuals work on it again. (To be clear, I took it back to them 6 hours after picking it up, but they said nothing was wrong with the engine.) I took them to court and won...but they still have not paid!

I have been taking my vehicles to this Meineke for about 5-6 years for regular maintenance and a couple larger problems like relays being stuck on and an alternator problem. I had been happy with the prices in general.I got to know Manuel and John fairly well and though timing was routinely slower and more difficult to make quick appointments I was willing to keep coming back since they work hard as there is typically only one guy doing work there. My wife was not as willing, and she kept telling me that she was rudely treated and refused to drop the cars off over time. I knew they were busy so was more willing to overlook things like not being addressed when I walk in the door and getting through on the phone 50% of the time. My wife said Manuel kept raising his voice with her and honestly I thought she was overreacting.Most recently, we had a power steering fluid leak that wouldnt resolve after replacing the pump and some hoses ($1600). Slowly the leak persisted and when the steering wheel started whining I knew that the problem was not gone. When I brought it in, Manuel refused to accept the notion that he could have missed it. I asked if he could take another look and he found a crack in the steering gear. He blamed that on me and denied the possibility that he didnt fix the whole leak. He did put a used one from a salvage yard ($130) that I found for free labor, so that was good. The leak persisted, and to make matters worse, I drove the van away and heard grinding and popping when I turned out. The sway bar popped off and so I left it in the garage for 4 days, which was the next time he could see me. He blamed that on the part, since he couldnt imagine making a mistake. Despite the fact this really put us out as a family of 6 without a van, I had to wait. I brought it back and he blamed me for scamming him, raising his voice he refused to do anymore work on the car since he already put 8 hours in (total, not for free). He said he wont be blamed for all my problems and blamed the continuing issues on an accident to the back hatch. Wow. Now I have a van with the original leak, and it is now unfit to drive since the more work that is done the more it magically falls apart... apparently due to a back hatch being dented by a truck at 5MPH backing out of the driveway that happened 4 months ago. I dont typically get fired up or even write reviews (this is my first), but I am appalled and done with them.So I took it to Tuffy where they told me that there is no chance Manuel is telling the truth, where I will spend more money to make up for the job that he probably messed up after all. They said the leak could have come from many sources and a careful inspection would find them all. They also warned of the dangers of buying a salvage steering gear (which was Manuels recommendation if I wanted to save money) as these parts can be bad and have no warranty, much less putting the children in harms way. To Manuels defense, Tuffy did report that the broken sway bar is not definitively related to the steering gear install, but it certainly was not due to a back hatch dent. We called Corporate and see what they will say.If you go to Meineke expect for the prices to be a bit better, but also expect to never be greeted, to not get through on the phone regularly, to wait for days for appointments, to sit in the waiting room as they start your work when they say it should be finished, to have a dirtier interior every time it is worked on, to be treated with no respect, and if you are a woman, to be shouted at (and sometimes if you are a man). They are understaffed and poorly trained (if at all) in customer service, and I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your vehicle repair and maintenance. The reviewers who gave good reviews just need to wait a bit longer to realize what I learned about this Meineke and Im sure they will change their opinion as I have.

1st off, they use their secretary as a buffer so they dont have to speak to the customers. 2nd, I schedule an appointment during my lunch hour to have my power window switch looked at and get an estimate to replace it. After sitting there for an hour (having telling them exactly what the issue is & what needs done), I get a $333 estimate. An hour, for an estimate. I stopped by UnitedFleet on my way back to work and was given an estimate in 2.5 minutes $200 cheaper. Will NOT be going back there.

I have always had very pleasant and quick procedures here, very competively priced, he has even gone above and beyond and beat out others in price matching, so I would recommend this meineke car center to anyone/EVERYONE! I have been other places in town and its hard to find honest people in todays world and even harder to find an honest mechanic I think we have about a handful, there are scammers everywhere, but found this is an honest run establishment with good business practices and excellent customer service going above and beyond!

My Volkswagen Passat W8 was there for 7 MONTHS before Emmanuel ran out of excuses, and I gave up and bought a new car. Called him once a week for almost a year and heard everything, except the truth, that he had NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG and $2200.00 later he was still trying to figure it out. Absolute worst place to get your car fixed at. These guys completely screwed up my truck. Do not go to these guys. They overcharged me and did HORRIBLE work to my car. After bringing my car to a place that fixed it correctly, the owner said that he was not going to give me a refund for the work they did and that i am stuck. The owner Emanuel told me to get all the paperwork showing that they screwed up, after i did all that work he still didnt give me a refund. He also lied about being the owner, only reason i found out he was the owner is from the corporate office. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!! My first post ever!!
