Great coffee! Pastries looked good too. There was only one person that was serving drive thru and dine in. They were friendly, cheerful and quick. I sat out with a friend on the patio, we had a wonderful time.
If you love great coffee, don’t come here. The owner makes “pour over” coffee by quickly grinding beans and dumping boiling water over them carelessly. Somehow managed to make my light roast taste burnt and flavorless. The shop itself was fine and quiet, but you can do way better in the area.
My dog and I drove to Timbuktuu every morning until she died. Its close to us, easy to access, and gives out dog treats. Plus I love that the owner is usually on site. Not to mention an orange cat that supervises the outside parameter. I hope they can expand someday so there is more room to meet with friends or business associates. On the other hand, we dont want Timbuktuu to ever lose its neighborhood vibe. Support locally owned small businesses!
Quiet shop. Great coffee. Not a lot of foot traffic, so great for meetings!
After reading several reviews we were wondering if we might have a contentious experience. We had a pleasant experience and very good coffee. Always like to support local businesses.
My friend I met here to have coffee (we had a couple young kids with us). We have only been here one other time and it was over 10 years ago so we thought we should try again instead of our usual place. The barista was not friendly when we asked questions. Its as if he was annoyed that we had a bunch of questions or that we had our kids with, but they were not causing any issues. I ordered a decaf latte and when they announced my drink they didnt say decaf so I asked to double check since I cant have caffeine and they seemed annoyed. When my drink was finally cooled enough for me to drink, I took one sip and it did not taste good. I realized I forgot to get coconut milk or almond milk because I cant drink regular milk. It was an honest mistake. I rarely get coffee. When I asked if they could remake it they were so rude to me and said, youll have to pay for a whole new drink since we have to throw this away. Its not our fault you ordered wrong and now we are throwing away $3. I was in shock at how rude they were to me. I know any other coffee shop would have corrected it for me. I have worked in a coffee shop and a couple restaurants and know to treat customers better than this. This was extremely poor customer service and I will NEVER be going back. I will be making sure none of my friends go there either.
Owners and workers have always been wonderful to order from and converse with. Try the Southern Pecan flavored drip coffee!
Its a very small coffee shop. Barrister was very nice. Very efficient. Tea was fresh. Friends said coffee was good. The usual snacks were there. Very quiet.
Terrific coffee and quiet location. Very friendly owner!
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Was yelled and WiFi was disconnected for opening a sparking water. I intermittent fast so do not eat or drink flavored drinks before noon. But he accused me of eating candy bars and hiding the wrappers lol!? Will never come back again.
Coffee was good, place looks nice but for a weekday morning nobody was there and only one person working. Wasnt all that friendly either. Nothing exciting for me to go back again.
The white chocolate mocha is TO DIE FOR. good prices and a lot of options, all super yummy. The barista can be kind of cranky though 😂
Coffee is okay, usually not great, but better than Starbucks by a bit. Kind of depends on who makes it and if they actually take the time to care how the drink tastes. Worst part of this place is the service. I’ve always encountered super rude staff here. Also, when I’ve ordered iced drinks, they sometimes put them in a regular to go cup instead of a plastic cup. There’s a reason you shouldn’t do that. The cup will collapse under the weight of the condensation that starts to form on the outside, so you have to drink it super quickly, or transfer it to another cup before that happens. The really bad attitudes of the baristas combined with the lack of knowledge/caring just isn’t worth it.
This is a very comfortable coffeehouse on the East end of a big strip mall on the very busy street called EP True Parkway. It has a pleasant house blend of coffee and a good selection of pastries. There is free parking in front of the building and a drive-up window. There are six tables with chairs and two big couches and two iron patio tables outside with four iron patio chairs. The prices are reasonable.
They have some of the best coffee hands down!! It’s the only reason I come back, sometimes I make multiple trips a day to this shop that’s how much I love this coffee. Be warned though the staff can be rude. I always leave the drive through with my coffee in hand feeling like I inconvienced their lives with my coffee order, but with that being said I can get past the rude staff if it means I get delicious hot coffee. I highly recommend this coffee shop to everyone but it does come with a small warning!
Really nice seating. Menu looks good. Only been there once and the cup of flavor of the day was good!
Our first time there, wont be the last. Great service, great coffee. Very pleasant and comfortable.
I have always loved this place. Until today, I went to the coffee shop to get a strawberry smoothie, that’s exactly what I ordered. Nowhere on the menu does it show banana in it. I have ordered this drink many times for this reason. Banana hurts my digestive tract and I am mildly allergic. When I took a sip I asked if there was banana politely. He snapped at me very angrily and said yes. I asked if I can get a plain strawberry smoothie and he said it was offensive to question his drink making skills. He said it would take a few minutes to make over. I said fine. And he slammed the drive through door in my face and gave me cash for my debit transaction. I waited there hoping to have a conversation with him he continued to speak to me rudely and tell me I was a waist of time. He said to come back tomorrow when someone is willing to make me what I order. So I went back inside waited for customers to get the order before trying to start an adult conversation. He was unwilling to give me a manager name or an apology for his hostile attitude and remarks towards me. Not only fid he raise his voice and say Im the offensive one he made derogatory remarks, call me a waste of time. He involved other customers who had nothing to do with out transaction. Lets just say I will not be going here again. They lost there 4-6 day a week customer
Loved the coffee and fresh desserts, and the woman who works there is really patient and caring! If you need a good recommendation, she’s very helpful
Been going here for over 10 years. Good, consistent coffee drinks. They have a breakfast burrito that isnt on the menu but is the best around.
Nothing special. Coffee tasted a little water downed. Wouldnt go out of my way for this coffee but since its right across the street from me the convenience is nice
I liked the coffee there, but it was a little small for me and it was not very noticeable from the street. But Id definitely go there again with a friend to catch up.
Fresh ground coffee for every cup. Atmosphere feels like youre at a retirement community lobby
The coffee taste great!, but the man who works their is so rude and has no patience when you order. The vibe is usually chill and a nice place to study!
Some of the best coffee in town. Good breakfast burritos (not in the menu). Friendly service.
Just went here on Saturday and ordered a mocha frappuccino. The guy made a hot drink. Then I said thats not what I ordered then poured the drink into a different cup and put ice in it. Not usually what I get when I order a mocha frappuccino. Was really disappointed however I think the guy was new
Loved it here! Coffee was amazing and really comfy place to chat.
Espresso was foul. Definitely not worth the money. I took one sip and left it. Quality is clearly an after thought here as no one is drinking the coffee to make sure it is palatable.
Order: CappuccinoPrice: $4Pros: Fast and cheapCons: The espresso wasn’t very good, and the foam for the cappuccino was mediocreThoughts: I was on the way into the office and absolutely had to have some coffee as the last 2 days had been pretty sparse in the way of good coffee. I ran inside real fast and it was completely empty, granted it was early in the morning but not really a good sign. Regardless, I went ahead and ordered a cappuccino and then dashed back to the car to head off to work. I didn’t get a really a long look at the interior but it was nice, clean, with enough seating that I could see this as an easy place to hang out with friends or get some work done.Unfortunately the cappuccino didn’t live up to the same level. The foam on top was pretty tasteless and the espresso seemed charred and rather bland. I don’t know what bean Timbuktuu uses, or if they are just pulling the espresso at too high a temperature, but it definitely wasn’t the cup of coffee I was hoping it would be. While some of the more specially drinks might be good, I’m a coffee and espresso person so given that the espresso in the cappuccino wasn’t up to par its definitely not a place I would go out of my way to visit again.
Great Place to grab a cup of coffee, bring the laptop and get renergized Plenty of tables and usually not very busy.
Raspberry Mocha is great! Quick service and nice enviornment!
Love the fast and friendly service here! The iced coffee is brewed to order and the cinnamon roll is delicious!
First of all the coffee is great. My goto here is an Americano, theyve never given me a bad one they keep quality coffee beans. Secondly the staff and owner are very nice and friendly. One of the Des Moines Metros best coffee places.
Great coffee and smoothies at good prices. Is my current go to.
I really like this place. Located off the beaten path and great place to get some work done in the afternoon with fresh coffee!
The chai is the best chai I have ever had, my wife goes here often and my kids LOVE their blueberry scones. The owners son though is extremely rude and condescending. He not only acts like its the CUSTOMERS privledge to encounter him but I have also witnessed him telling off or being rude to customers. Recently, my wife encountered him where he wouldnt give her the code to wifi because she hadnt bought her coffee YET and basically kicked her out. From these multiple negative reviews about him and his rudeness I bet they dont stay open another 2 years! Dont go- not worth the hassle.
Great coffee. Excellent atmosphere!
Love it here. Invented mint chai tea.
The owner is very friendly and the price is very reasonable. I ordered an Americano and it was is good, but not great.
Single pour cheaper than gas station coffee. Wow! Smoothies are good too
Nice place. Local feel with free wi fi
Best coffee for sure! Better than Starbucks by a longshot! And cheaper
The best coffee bar in town!! I would live there if theyd let me...the Lattes/coffee is tasty and quite smooth. Baristas are friendly and consistent....quick/convenient drive through...I live and work in WDM so I only frequent the one on EP True, but know the Baristas work all locations....Dang, now I must go get one...
