West Des Moines needed another art gallery and in 2015 they got this one. This is a very nice art gallery for people withmany various tastes in art. It is run by the artisans, which is a nice twist. As their ads say, they have the usual paintings, as well as photography, woodworks and sculpture, items made from fiber and fabric material art. The lighting and displays are thoughtfully and nicely done to show off each item nicely. They also have a selection of suitable gifts (many less expensive than the main artworks spotlighted) and a selection of gemstone beads and other jewelry.The location is ideal if you are going to take the historic Valley Junction walking tour. They are located in the Valley Junction shops district on 5th Street in West Des Moines, where there are all kinds of other artsy/antiquey stores are close together, and covering several blocks. Parking is not great, but it is better in some respects than it was many years ago, The entire area got a face lift years ago. The prices in this gallery range from fairly inexpensive to moderate for original art. They have a special small room in the back, where they hold special events - meet and greets with artists, and perhaps classes or demonstations as well. Worth the trip and very clean and tastefully arranged.

The shop was celebrating its 5th anniversary when I visited and it also had a wonderful art installation by Mary Kline-Misol called The Suffrage Project featuring portraits she had painted of several of the women that were important in bringing about womens right to vote. I didnt know that was there before I went but I really enjoyed looking at it and I actually bought the catalog which reproduced each portrait accompanied by a short biography of each woman. The clerk was friendly and helpful without hovering. The shop was just immaculate. Items were displayed to good advantage, well lit without glare. If youre looking for Iowa Artisan jewelry, this is where you want to shop. It just felt like I was walking through a magical place.

I absolutely love this little gallery! I always stop by when Im in valley junction and Im not sure Ive ever left empty-handed. The local art is all so beautiful and interesting, and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful.

Great gallery! The ladies are very helpful and friendly. Theres great fine art, pretty textile creations (husband picked out a lovely silk scarf for our anniversary), and gorgeous jewelry!
