Not handicapped accessible so unable to go in. It looked and smelled good. It was busy. Just a shame after 30 years of disability rights to find places that I cannot go.
I have been going for years and get the chili omelette every time. Im never disappointed. I always bring my clients there and they are never disappointed.
BEST PANCAKES I’ve ever had!! And I don’t usually like pancakes. People are beyond friendly too, the waitress knows her costumers on a first name basis, and was very attentive and nice to me.Definitely coming back.
Our second time there, and it was a little bit busier than last time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent although we did have to wait about 25 minutes before we got our food. And she did mess up on my partners egg but immediately recovered within 2 minutes. We were sitting in the corner near the front door and so with the phone calls coming in for the orders and the people standing in front of me waiting for a table I only had my cup of coffee refilled once in 35 minutes
I love this place best food ever my only complaint the cranberry juice was warm yuck but other than that theyre great clean and very nice staff

A Fun Old school diner. The short order cook is a MACHINE, egg dishes, pancakes, frech toast made on the spot. Allq with a smile while he cracks eggs open one handed, while flipping a pancake with the other hand. Fun to watch.

I AM IN LOVEThis place was absolutely scrumshadillyumcious and delectable. Not only was the food SHOW STOPPING but the server was so kind and made sure our coffee mugs were full; not to mention her spanish was perfect!
Great atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. Our first experience at Quaker was fantastic and we will definitely be returning. We had the Western omelette and three pancakes with a side of bacon. Cakes were fluffy and had a great flavor. Omelette was very light and probably one of the best we have eaten. Bacon was a bit overdone for our liking but some might like it like that be default. Our waitresses were very friendly and extremely patient with our son who was in a food-throwing mood. I highly recommend checking this diner out.
The food was okey, but the home fries had no taste and were very small portion. This used to be a great place for breakfast now it is got worse. The staff is not friendly, very rude !!!

Great little place with a history. Food was really good, cheddar home fries are the way to go! The boyfriend and I both got the 2-2-2 with cheddar home fries and were more than satisfied! They were on top of coffee refills without even asking and service was quick and our waitress was sweet! Ive come before and Ill go again! But do know its first come first serve for seating... No reservations... No credit cards, cash/check only

This is a true classic diner. I had the eggs with corned beef hash. The hash had a good crust on it. The homefries were really good. The over medium eggs had the right amount of ooze to them and the coffee was good too. Worth noting that it is cash or check only, no plastic.

One of the last classic diners left especially in the Hartford area. Great food and always consistent. Atmosphere is again, that classic diner experience. Staff is nice but can be a bit abrasive; typical New England personality; not bad, not good; it is what it is but don’t let it deter you from the diner experiences this place!!

It’s a cute small place my husband and I were in the area looking for breakfast. It was very busy so we had a seat at the bar. Limited menu as most things are only available on the weekends. The service was quick, but the food was so bad neither my husband and I could finish the food . My husband who is known to just eat passed the taste because he needed the substance we were there for a long conference, he was actually gagging on the food. The prices are cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. Also the waitress was very rude never got refills on coffee never asked how our meal tasted. We paid and left plates full and Unsatisfied. Definitely won’t be patronizing this diner . We really were deceived and hoped for better, but if your looking for cheap fast, not great tasting food and rude service this is the place for you!

Definitely dont come to this diner during any sort of rush hour. This place is incredibly small, but the food was decent. They have a huge menu with a variety of options so there is something for everyone.

Delightful little place. Food is good, but there are limited options for vegetarian diets like mine. They did make an egg scramble workout the egg, and it was good!
I had to delete my old Post because last time I will ever come here . I always come here to eat never had a problem with getting Frys with my breakfast at 6:30 am . Today I come in at 10:50 ten minutes before lunch and they made a big deal over fry never happened before. Last time I will ever spend money at this place . Sucks use to be an amazing place to go to going down hill
Super small, fast, friendly diner. Good food at okay prices - have always had to wait for a seat but never too long. The ONLY TAKE CASH - so be ready for that or run across the street to the gas station to the ATM that charges a hefty fee since you forgot. Just warning you!Definitely recommend if you have kids - a great traditional style breakfast place that always serves up great food.
Not only is food amazing, the staff is SO FRIENDLY. This diner is the real deal. I feel like Im on a tv show when I walk in due to the 1950s (newly renovated apparently!) look of the place. The environment is perfect and Im satisfied every time. Just started going and now Im ADDICTED!

Quaker is always awesome. Been a long time since we had been back and yet still the same servers, cooks, etc. Place is awesome, always a pleasure to visit, quick food, reasonable prices. It embodies what it means to be a diner!
Classic style. Cash only. Nothing fancy. Very busy from 9 to 10:30 and 11:30 to 1. Breakfast is good and simple and the price is right. Be prepared to sit at the counter.
Quaker Diner is the best for fun service, excellent comfort food and neighborhood atmosphere. Never disappointed even with the waits. Just have to adjust your timing, or smile and meet a new friend at the counter.

Corned beef is excellent. Service was slow and not very friendly. Asked for crisp potatoes, got soft ones.waitress later explained we dont make them that way, wish that was explained in advance. Will not be back.

I’ve enjoyed brunch at Quaker Diner for almost two years now. From the silver dollar pancakes, to the omelettes, everything is delicious and satisfying. Nothing about Quaker Diner is pretentious. Quaker Diner is an old-time local eatery where the waitstaff knows almost all of the customers. Quaker Diner is small and there is always a line waiting for the first-come/first-serve seating; no call ahead and no reservations. Always remember to bring cash because Quaker Diner does not take credit cards, debit cards or checks. But do bring an appetite! You won’t be disappointed.

Really great breakfast for that early bird. A little crowded but I wont complain because the food comes out in a timely manner. Bring cash if you can!

Nice little hometown spot, food is great love the home fries, the pancakes are ok. The Asian woman there though is a bit unfriendly, as much as I did group orders for my dept you would expect a better greeting instead of acting like I was bothering them. The other staff are friendly.

Very uncomfortable to sit its always too crowded. Owner is extremely rude she acts like youre doing her a favor rarely ever welcomes you as you walk in the door. And the fact that its cash only is stupid in 2017
I read the other reviews. Those people must have been at a different restaurant because my experience was very lackluster. The food was mediocre at best, the service was alright but the fact that when I went to pay I pulled out my card and they said they only took cash but there was not one sign up that said cash only kind of turned me off. Needless to say I will not be returning there.

Just moved to West Hartford and needed a place for breakfast. Found this place on Google Maps. We were a little skeptical at first, but decided to try it anyway. Im sure other people have felt the same, but be sure to try it out!!! Its very tiny, but felt like one of the most authentic diner experiences weve had. Food was so well priced, and really delicious. Will definitely be one of our go-tos for breakfast in the area!
