You should be completely embarrassed of the NY location. My friends an i were so disappointed. There was ZERO effort put into making that a pop up Max. I feel completely ripped off paying $30+ for hamburger ($170 in total) for a black curtain and dollar store balloons that said bayside. What a total scam! You guys should be ashamed that this is the product you put out there as a saved by the bell pop up spot. There wasnt even a sign outside that told you it was saved by the max or that you were in the right spot. Wish i didn’t waste my time. You should be ashamed of the way you frauded fans out of their money at a time like this. They offered a refund, but as of today, nothing.
Great pop-up shop, its nostalgia at its best. The theming is great, its truly like you have been transported into The Max from the TV show. If you are a fan of Saved by the Bell, then this place is a must! My only complaint would be the food is not fantastic, its good, but for that much work to be out into the building and its decor, it was a shame that the food was not just as wonderful.
Upon arrival you must check in with the hostess and they let you in pretty much at your reservation time. Then you are brought in and seated. The diner was top notch and they did a really good job on all of the details from the show which was very nicely done. The food on the other hand was just horrible and barely edible. Included with your ticket is an appetizer and entree. Drinks and desserts are extra unless you opt out of an appetizer then you have the choice of alcoholic drinks or beer. My party got the burger and fries mac and cheese and the wings. Everything was cold and salty and hardly edible. The food just lacked flavor of any kind. I mean literally anything else would have been better that what was served. I was shocked to see people taking a to go box!!! We asked to take the wings back and swap it out for something else. They agreed, so we ordered a milk shake instead, wasnt any better. They dumped chocolate syrup, tons of whipped cream and shavings of ice cream and called it a milkshake.I would have preferred that they just charged for the photo op because the food was horrible and not worth the $40 plus fees price tag. The diner itself and photo op props were awesome but thats where it ended. Tip: park at the underground lot near the plaza (off romaine st) very reasonably priced and walking distance to the diner. All in all Id say skip on this pop up
Pretty much what you make of it. Its essentially a diner but as if youre on the set of Saved by the Bell. Make sure to dress up or youll definitely feel left out.Be prepared to take lots of pics! Before you go in, know what you want to eat and drink so the waiter can get your order in ASAP then you can have more time to take pics since you have a 90-minute limit.Theres two sets of lockers (one when you walk in and another in the back by the restrooms), these big heads with the cast, many props inside lockers you can play with and take pics with like Jessis empty pill bottles (Im so excited Im so...scared!!!). Theres Mr Beldings office which you can wait to take turns taking pics at his desk. They also sell shirts and sweaters.
Saved by the max was an awesome experience!!!! so worth the money I paided for the allotted time to sit at the table. It was perfect!! The menu was delicious the food options and served in a timely manner. as well as our expectations of the food the additional costs were for merchandise and alcoholic drinks for adults. all the props within the area were great to use. The games to play the arcades were amazing. The choice of old school from the juke box with the music playing in the background brought me back to my high school days! I will definitely return on another occasion hopefully its soon thank you!!!! thank you!!!!!! thank you for this awesome experience #awesomesauce
This place was fun, especially if you go with a super fan like we did. (She noticed all the little details from the episodes that I totally would have missed.) The diner itself was well put together and was a pretty good replica of the original Max. The only reason that I have it a 4 star was because the food wasnt great. I didnt really expect it to be and thats not why I went, but it was just okay. However, I do have to make exception for the chocolate shake. If you like chocolate, the shake is great. Also, the mac and cheese and sliders appetizers were better than the actual entrees (burger and Monte Cristo). Over all, you get plenty of time to roam around and take photos!
Love it! I love the theme and how there are picture settings all over with props that you can use. However, the food is not good, I got the impossible burger which comes with fries. It was bland and tasted to much like meat. The fries were pretty greasy, the salad I would say was the best out of the food. The price to enter is quite a bit for the quality of the food. Youre paying mostly to enter and enjoy the vibes. It can get packed brunch, there is usually less people. There is street metered parking, and a garage nearby so dont worry too much about parking.
The restaurant was spot on, from the payphone and front door to the flooring and tables/booths, it was like being on the set! Food was just OK but the service was great! You pay for the experience and the bragging rights of saying you were actually there, not sure how much longer itll be there since its a pop up restaurant. Was worth the money just for the photo opportunity!
The experience was pretty cool! My burger was even good. Unfortunately, you get one time slot and they delivered the food with 20 minutes left in our slot and they completely ignored my food allergies (not sure why they bothered to ask about them) and then completely forgot my side of fries but had the nerve to charge me for bacon. Lol. So pay the 40 something bucks for a good photo opportunity but dont expect actual quality service.
Great experience and surprisingly tasty food. Had to wait 20 minutes even though I had a reservation. Staff is very energetic and happy to be there. We, unfortunately, were the only ones not dressed in 90s attire Saturday night. You can get great photos in all parts of the restaurant. Recommend it while its in town.
Even though its supposed to be kitschy, Chef Jeff Brings some amazing flavors out of the usual cafeteria food. Also the fresh wonderful flavors from the Malibu menu are amazing. This isnt your usual high school lunch food kids! Make sure you have one of his amazing milkshakes to top it all off! Service is perfection!
Had a reservation and got in a few minutes early. Once inside the service was not the greatest. Server would disappear for long stretches. Waited for the drinks that we ordered for over 20 minutes. Food didnt hit the table until about an hour in. The food was good. No complaints there. The theming is its strong suit. Great if a huge Saved by the Bell fan. More of a photo op than a restaurant.
Absolutely loved this place! Felt like I was actually in an episode of saved by the bell. Loved all the memorabilia! Great decorations and really friendly staff.
This place is all about the experience. The details are fantastic, however, I cant say the same for the service or the food. Would I go again? No. Do I think its cool to experience at least once? Absolutely! If you are a Saved by the Bell fan...its worth it. Just be prepared to wait a while even if you have reservations, and to be asked to leave right at the 90 minute mark.
Yes going back in time was great for the hour and a half we were there. But that’s where the fun ends. Waiting at the bar to get a drink we were ignored for 10 minutes until the hostess becomes our server at the bar. Then we had to wait for our reservation as well. The waitress was super rude and the food was eh. Not worth the $40 a person the charge.
Really fun theme and premise. The food was average, especially the fish tacos- not recommended. We really enjoyed taking photos and running about the place. Worth a visit for the nostalgia points.
Great place! The themed rooms for picture taking are so much fun and they have different events going on. I came for trivia night hosted by Be Kind Rewind and the California Dreams live concert.
Ive only been to the chicago location a few times and i miss it dearly! I think it lost traction because it was kind of like a hidden gem in the city (Literally hard to find the front door with other constuction going onto the building). Mac and screech is my fav item on the menu. Im miles away from the only location left and i would love some recipes to be published ❤.
The experience initially was very nice. It was a gift for my daughter. Although we dont necessarily blame the server, our food took more than 70 minutes to arrive. They didnt provide a discount for taking an embarrassing amount of time to get our food which consisted of sandwiches, burgers and fries, but they did provide a round of shots.
Had a great time for my birthday. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was great and service was good. The manager Zach is awesome, very helpful and friends even took care of some special requests for us. If you are a preppie or have any nostalgia to saved by the Bell or good morning Miss bliss you should check this place out.
Had a blast! What a trip down memory lane. This place had so many great photo opportunities! The Max and Mr. Beldings office, all in one place! The food was good! Typical diner type food. The server was really great and took care of us. If you loved the show you definitely should stop by!
Such a great experience. Wait staff was amazing. Had the opportunity to visit all the areas for photo ops. Go before they are gone!
Well done pop up restaurant based on the 90s show Saved by the Bell. Food is equivalent to Chills, or TGIF. Props and decore are good and the wait staff is friendly. Service and service speed are average. I had the pastrami and my wife had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was definitely the better of the two. Its not really a kid friendly restaurant as there are way too many things to distract a child. Free video games, and lots of spots for photos. Fun if your in the area and have a reservation.
What fun! Great vegetarian option and drinks. Great staff. Felt we were in school. Visit it soon!
Very cool place that puts you right in the show. ToYouget awesome photos but its pricey and the food was okay at best. Definitely worth checking out but I wont go again.
I loved it here. I brought my wife here for our 10th anniversary. I would give 5 stars but Im sadden that it had to go cuz its a pop up shop. If it was a permanent spot Id definitely give it the 5 stars. Food was amazing and yummy. I had the chicken & waffles and poutine fries. But definitely had fun walking around and taking pictures made me feel like I was in that time. Felt like I was really there on the show haha. It was super fun.
The atmosphere of this place is so cool! Tons of little details from the show. I had the pulled pork sliders and cheeseburger. I left very full, but it was just very standard diner style food. You are definitely paying a premium for the experience. I would skip the beer next time, $14 for a 20 floz beer, no thanks.
Its a great place for Saved by the Bell fans, but the place is expensive! $15 for a burger (good burger though) or cocktail at the bar, $50 for a meal at a booth. I opted for the $15 burger. They take cash, but they dont provide change of a dollar. I would recommend the place is youre a Saved by the Bell fan and dont mind paying high prices to see a TV show themed diner.
Good food... very nostalgic place... on point with the saved by the bell theme... it feels like you are actually in the max! I live it...
Went for the Good Burger pop-up. Food was alright but staff and theming were top-notch
Certainly has the look of the Max. Waiters are cheerful. Lots of photo ops everywhere you look. Menu is small, could use a few more selections.
The atmosphere and the 80s-90s music sets the era of the trend of the iconic tv series. However the food is average yet way overpriced for what you’d spend on a normal meal.Be sure prior to visiting, you make reservations.
Great experience, thought it was a blast, but dont expect fine dining, exit a fun time with fellow fans
I love Saved By The Max Pop Up when it was in Chicago. Can’t wait to make a visit in Los Angeles soon as well. Keep up the great work!
This is solely based on the decor and service. The place looks legit, way to go. And our server was great and amicable.
Great experience. Food is delicious and they nailed the max. Only suggestion is using music from the era.
Awesome atmosphere and tasty food but prices are high and could do with better vegan options.
Good atmosphere but couldnt say the same for the food from my experience.
Cool to experience saved by the bell set. Food was mediocre and was set price
The settings and Saved by the Bell ambience is so cool! I would highly recommend coming here purely for the nostalgia and ability to take pics the the shows props! The food was awful. My group shared so i had a bit of everyones and the chicken wings taste like were dipped in a salt bath, burger had nothing special and was also salty, fish tacos were soggy and bland plus the corn tortillas taste like they were straight out of the bag. Chili cheese fries were ok, fries in general were good but nothing special. Chocolate shake was good for the first half, the second half was all whipped cream. They had a lot of themed drinks, but i didnt get a chance to sample those. Ill probably go again someday for the environment and to try the drinks. Also, the have a couple free arcade games, but I couldnt get them to work
Such a cool experience if you grew up watching the show.
High-quality pop up. Awesome atmosphere, cool staff.
Go in with the expectation of a pop up and have a good time. It was fun.
Fun idea, but was disappointed when I got there. The vegan burger I got was way overcooked to the point of being crunchy. So was the burger my friend also got.
A really cool piece of nostalgia. The food is surprisingly good as well.
Good food great staff set up like saved by the bel must go and price is not to expensive
Food was horrible, about the same quality as public school lunches which is maybe what theyre going for...except public school lunches are $3 vs this being $40. The decor doesnt matter if the food isnt worth even half what they charge. They obviously know most patrons will be blinded by wanting to see nostalgia and not realize theyve just been swindled. My suggestion, take pics from outside and go 5 blocks west to Astro Burger where the food is MUCH better while still cheaper and better parking.
Its like walking into a 90s time machine lol and the food was good, some dishes better than others. I personally loved the pulled pork sliders and the poutine.
Dont do a big party the food took 2 hours to arrive. The menu has about 5 food items so it wasnt like it was any special orders. Also the bartender was extremely rude I will never return.
Great for the nostalgia. Food is so so, service is slow.
Love the food, great atmosphere and awesome customer service!!!
This was ok. Some of the props were broken and the mixed drinks are no good (watered down) it was a friends birthday and it was a thing to do.. I wouldnt go again though
Love the decor. Brought back alot of 90s nostalgia.
Saved By The Max was great but Goodburger was a total ripoff.
Fun place, it is an exact replica of fhe Max from Saved by the Bell. The menu was a bit random but tasty. Check it out.
Really enjoyed the food & decor.
Was so cool to bad its gone now
Super fun, brought back lots of memories.
Food was so so at best, not worth the money for entry imo, unless you’re a super fan & just want to see the place.
Not worth it, it had no air-conditioning, the service is lousy and not worth the time you wait for a table.
Neat restaurant. Too bad they arent open for lunch.
Best time of my life!
Fun nostalgia and good food!
Charges $40 plus fees per person just to get in.
Fun place to visit
Good Burger
Very cool
Amazing!
Loved it!
Go for Zach, not the food.
Fun place !!!
