Academy Sports in Palm Bay has a good setup. If youre looking for items for a specific sport, its easy to find the section you need, providing they have the items in stock. The staff is always helpful & friendly & willing to help order online if the item isnt available. Tend to be a bit more expensive than a Walmart or Target or other box store, but sports stores are few & far between. Charged $8.99 for soccer ⚽️ socks that had suggested retail price of $7.99. But in desperate need & not enough time to order online from Amazon. Also had a single pair for 11.99. I checked out bicycle headlights but only a few in stock.

Academy Sports is absolutely the best. They have everything from clothing for the outdoors to fitness and every day wear. This is the place for everything for fishing, hunting ( not me )to a huge selection of firearms and ammo.Even better than the variety of the store is the staff. Ive been a loyal customer for close to 5 years its to 5 years and recently Academy sports and westmelbourne Florida on Florida has become very bad at Is customer service and keeping their customers happy. I think Ill go back to Bass Pro Shop, at least they care for their customers.

I went into academy sports to purchase some ammunition for my Ruger LCP Ii. I had the honor of working with a gentleman named Kevin who spent quite a bit of time sharing his knowledge of firearms with me. A++ customer service! Even though I am a novice firearms owner his explanations were clear without being condescending.

Im guessing Covid is responsible for the lack of inventory but we were not able to find any of the clothing or footwear we were searching for.

Found ammo. Thats a huge plus in and of itself. Didnt need assistance, so cant speak to that yet.

First time there, nice selection, fairly priced, good quality which thats what we all want, just dont expect happy to help attitudes or knowledgeable advise, I would definitely go back tho. We got an awesome pool set up for 200$ included everything, got it set up and were very happy with it, 200 $$$ for a summer of fun is a great price. Dont bother buying anything online from their website. What their website says they have in stock is almost never correct. The website will say they have the item in stock at your local store. Theyll take your payment. Then youll either show up to get the item to find it wasnt in stock or theyll just cancel the order and send you an email. Then youre payment will get refunded to your bank account a week later.

Just had a great costumer service experience at your Palm Bay store. Went in to buy some achery stuff arrows, tips etc.. Your staff was excellent Zach went out of his way to help me. He even reminded me a Bow and Arrow is not a toy and it can hurt you. Thank You. Also Craig, Camilla and Luca were great as well. Even went in right before closing and everyone was beyond friendly. Will not ever go to Bass Pro Shop again. PS Found everything I needed and did not break the bank.

This is a great store and has great discounts/promotions. Ive gotten fishing supplies here as well as exercise gear and have zero complaints. The store is immaculate, the staff is incredibly helpful, and the prices are great.

The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. This store has a great variety of sports equipment. They have an easy return policy so you can purchase items online and return it without a hassle if you arent pleased.

The store is very big and wide open, perfect for social distancing. The bathrooms were spotless. The staff was kind and helpful. They have a bunch of stuff to support some of the colleges here in Florida. The workout wear has a great variety.

I enjoy shopping here. You are allowed to bring your dog in which is a bonus. They have a nice selection of clothes!

Im just over paying high dollar for a name. It used to mean it lasted longer and wore better. Not anymore. Prices keep going up but the quality keeps going down. Also they keep moving things around so you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find what you came in for!

Nice place just to take the kids for a quick outing to burn energy! There are live gators and wild hogs outside the front doors. Insidethere is a huge aquarium with many different breeds of live fish. While browsing the great clothes and items for sale, you will see many scenes of wildlife reproductions as they are set amongst the things where youd usually find them. There are bass hanging as if their in a stream, but their hanging from the wall above the entry into the clothing goods. There are huge turtles and fish hanging everywhere! Enjoy the scenery as you enjoy yourself on an outing for fun and the beauty of wildlife.

Seems decent. First time at one. The shoe section was limted for certain sports. I bought some browning shirts. Seem to have pretty much everything.

I had never been there before I was surprised at the good quality of what they carried because even the regular retail stores in Melbourne Florida carry a lot of junk and I was surprised to learn that this is a good store to go to for several kinds of sports including fishing I was shopping for mens cross training shoes and I was pleased at the variety the only downside is kind of two sided they have an enormous wall of clearance shoes but the downside is they are not sorted by size womens mens or childrens so if you want to find a bargain its probably more of a waste of time to have to go through every single box of shoes to find what you want the way they are situated on the shelf its hard to see the the label whether its mens womens or childrens or the size

Best selection of specialty ammo in Brevard County. Do like that they carry 9mm and .45acp Hornady Critical Duty, but do wish they would also offer .32 H&R and .41 Magnum ammo (hint, hint). Friendly, (mostly) knowledgeable staff.Came back and bought a pair of Merrell Moab hiking shoes. Not cheap, but quite comfortable.

Hands down my favorite store to go to, period. Their fishing selection has finally sky rocketed, and I couldnt be happier. I like my email receipts, but the cashiers dont like to wait to give you a chance to hit email receipt. Ill give it 5 stars when I stop feeling like Im being pushed out in a hurry, especially after spending thousands there.

I like this store, what made my review low was the fact that they are pretty much totally out of ammo, unless you need 12 gauge. Any other ammo was gone by 10:30 am on the day that it arrives. Supply and demand I guess. Good luck finding everyone 😁❤️

The staff are friendly, the selection is solid(with the exception of ammo, and firearms of course) but what was there, was not price gouged. I bought a pair of hunting boots, and some things with my mother. She lost her phone, and immediately the customer service desk had already found it and returned it to her. Will certainly be back.

Place was empty yet not one of the seemingly endless amounts of employees asked if I needed any help.

We go to Academy for basically all our camo clothing needs ha ha. This is of course because they are cheaper than Bass Pro Shop.. That is what Academy has going for it. They are cheaper than Bass Pro Shop. But seriously, the staff has always been friendly to me. They have always helped me find whatever Im looking for and they seem like a great staff all around to me. Weve purchased a lot of ammo there and a few things that use ammo and we have a closet full of clothes from there ... Its a all around great sporting goods/outdoors store. Im sure Ill spend thousands of more dollars there in the future. Id recommend it.
