They roast their own coffee beans and you notice it with the finished product.I tried a caramel macchiato and pumpkin spiced coffee and my wife loved her coffee, just like i enjoyed mine.Despite the slowness of the service their products are top notch, my only advice is to be patient and enjoy the ambiance and the music while waiting for your order 🙃

They roast coffee beans themselves and the coffee tastes and aromas are excellent. The interior is very neat. Also, the pandemic quarantine rules were well followed, and some of the guests sitting inside were wearing masks too.

The coffee and teas are all delicious, as they have a variety of drinks. The pastries as well, all taste great. They also have diary free milk options which is a plus. This is a fantastic place to do work or read in, as the atmosphere is great, and the staff is beyond friendly:)

Nice atmosphere to relax in. Coffee was very good. I ordered a honey cinnamon almond milk latte. Not too sweet and not too strong.

Popped in for a cold brew and immediately loved the vibe! The space is actually very large so it seems like a great place to stop in and catch up with some old friends and catch up. The coffee is delicious also. No bitter taste after like most other places. It happens to be their one year anniversary so they have some fun games and prizes! Its defiantly a place I will pop in more often!

Best coffee Ive had in a long time!

Place is nice and all but the price that I paid for 2 regular coffees and the quality of the coffee that I got was disappointing. Coffee is bold but you can tell right away the quality isn’t there. Maybe Just a bad batch!?! There’s also not that much of a variety of baked pastries to choose from.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe which is a welcome contrast to the tight squeeze and tinny acoustics of the local Starbucks around the corner. Went to this location for the first time yesterday and ordered a latte for $4.50+ cents. Took awhile which was unusual as no one was there and flavor-wise it was ok, nothing impressive. The space is clean and stylish, love the tile in the walls. This is definitely a welcome addition to the minimal coffee landscape in Westfield. Will be back, but will stick with the regular coffee next time.

Ive only had good experiences at this boxwood location. The staff is friendly and the orders are always top notch. Id like to see expansion on the menu but a big selling point to me is buying their coffee and having it grinded by them for my French press. Always a great alternative from Starbucks when it comes to even simple coffee.

A bit pricey, but a really lovely place. On September 10, 2020, They are open inside with minimum seating, but almost always, theres an space to sit. The outside seating area is also spacious and open. Great place overall and will adapted for current times.

It’s a cute place but too expensive. I paid almost $6 for an ice coffee. No shots or syrups added or any speciality milks. Just an ice coffee with cream and sugar. It tasted good but not mind blowing.

This is one of my favorite places for coffee, BUT cleanliness is so low. I was today at the Westfield, NJ location and the café itself and the restroom was not that clean. The main front glasses had white signs of paint so did the restroom. Please a little more cleaning

Great space. Decent coffee. POOR customer service. // I asked if they do iced pour overs and the guy working said ‘no’ like I had just asked if I could have his paycheck. After I checked out I casually asked him why, and his entire less than sufficient response was spoken with a chip on his shoulder. // I also asked for a shot of espresso for here and got it in a paper cup. When I asked for a ceramic cup they didn’t remake my shot. // Maybe it was an off day, but please work on the customer experience @boxwood_coffee.

It’s like they took a coffee shop from SoHo and put it right in downtown Westfield.A perfect coffee shop to me has to have just the right blend of great tasting coffee, friendly staff and an inviting and cozy ambience. Boxwood scores high on all 3 of those things!Whether you want to have a cup of coffee and reconnect with an old friend or sit down and crank out work, Boxwood Coffee is your perfect neighborhood cafe. I could see 2 Entrepreneurs sitting at a table discussing the next big start up. Or all of the local high schoolers sitting at a table after school. Watch out because this place will become the new hot spot!When you walk in the front door the color scheme and layout are open, inviting and bright. The music is current and relaxing but at the same time invigorating and exciting. (They were playing Anderson Paak when I went in) And it’s played at the right volume. There are other coffee shops in the area where the music is so loud you can’t even think let alone have a conversation or get work done.Side note - I’d love to see them feature local musicians. It’s a great space for local singer songwriters!The barista’s behind the counter walked me through some suggestions for my morning coffee and pointed me towards their seasonal lighter roast. They were very well-informed and told me the complete story behind the coffee beans and walked me through a flavor/tasting profile.I love it when I know the story behind my food and coffee. It makes my experience more exciting and worth sharing with other people.I highly recommend trying their seasonal spring coffee. It’s light with tastes and notes of cantaloupe and melon...a perfect but not too heavy jump start to your morning.In summary if you’re looking for one of the best cups of coffee in town combined with “SoHo Sophistication” this is definitely the place to go.

A very hip, modern coffee shop with a great vibe. Staff were extra courteous, polite and helpful to answer questions and make suggestions. Tried the nitro cold brew coffee with oat milk. The best! Plenty of dessert options (and gluten free too). Will definitely be back!

The inside of this coffee shop is stunning. very modern, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. however, their options are very limited. for the kind of place it comes off as, you don’t have much choice for what you want to get besides the basics. my biggest grievance was when we went in, the girl behind the counter couldn’t be bothered to help us. when asked what something was, she barely looked up from her phone and rolled her eyes and gave the most vague answer with as little detail as possible. when we placed our order it felt very rushed. based off the customer experience alone i won’t be going back.

Always a great experience at this location. Staff is friendly and attentive and never has a wait. Open, comfortable seating with good options. Prices a bit high compared to the competition and what is offered. Better coffee that Rockin Joe and far better experience and atmosphere than Starbucks.

So extremely underwhelmed. Initial service is short and unaccommodating when taking orders or with questions. (For the record the other employees making coffee and delivering seemed to be enjoyably personable) Order wasnt correct. Good atmosphere. Plenty of room to sit, relax and enjoy your favorite drink. They offer delicious coffee, latte, cappuccino, tea, chai, and a good assortment of other hot and cold drinks, made to order. A tasty selection of pastries, croissants, yogurt and the like. It is really a quiet, pleasant, place to sit, plug in, and work, study or better yet, relax and do nothing! Prices are on the high side though.

Coffee was very good. They roast on sight, baristas do a good job preparing various drinks properly, where else in town are you going to get that?? Freshness and proper training matter. If you think you know good coffee, go to Boxwood and ask about their single origins.

A great indie coffee shop.There were friendly staff teaching latte foam art on my drink.The espresso was made with medium/dark roast coffee beans. This resulted in a drink that was flavorful, but not burnt or too acidic. They really know how to make great coffee here.

With a hip and chill vibe supplemented by good coffee and bites, Boxwood is a Westfield treasure. Large couches, individual tables and tall tables with stools, you can find a spot here to relax or hang with friends. The large windows let in lots of natural light and views of the street buzz. Great destination for a walk into town for some chill time.

Love this place. The coffee is rich, flavorful and consistent. The staff is properly trained in the fine arts of the brew, always delivering great service along with an amazing cup of coffee. They have new drinks specials on rotation. A delight for any coffee drinker.

Such a modern, clean, and trendy cafe to go to right in the heart of beautiful downtown Westfield. People of all ages go here and its relatively quiet. Very friendly young adults are serving cafe beverages, hot or cold with chill vibes all around. Cafe pastries are pretty good. A little pricey but its new, in downtown, and similar to Starbucks prices. Support relatively small businesses and check out their website!

Great place for consistently good coffee/espresso

Eh, don’t get the hype from the reviews at all. Ordered an iced mocha latte, watched them pour 90% of my cup with milk and the rest was a shot of espresso with some chocolate syrup. Tasted like milk to say the very least. For the location and price it’s unacceptable. Don’t usually leave reviews but my Starbucks drink taste better and that says a lot.

I came here with my husband because we were given a gift card and even with $5 left on the card, I dont think Ill be back. Sure, its super cute and the atmosphere is beautiful, but both times weve been weve been super underwhelmed. The service is cold, unwelcoming and not very personable. I guess if you want to feel like youre in NYC, theyre right on point with the cut and dry service. Also, the two questions I asked (can i get my drink in a mug...which I didnt end up getting and the wifi password) were passive-aggressively answered as if these were common knowledge questions. We will stick to Track 5 coffee in Cranford. For 5 more minutes of driving, its well worth it for a better experience AND better coffee.

Boxwood is ok but very loud. They really need to keep the tables more clean as there is a lot of turn over and people are sometimes not so clean. It is up to the staff to fly in and clean the tables up right away or else you end up with only two stars.

Ive been going to the Boxwood location in Summit for years and I have nothing but positive things to say.. However, there new location in Westfield I cannot say the same. I asked for a hot latte to stay I and I was given iced. No big deal, yet I sat at a table that was not only dirty, but broken on the top. And the couch I happened to be sitting on was crusty and stained. You would think with a location like the one in summit and the reputation that it carrys this new location would be along the same line of standards. It falls very short of that. I am disappointed to say that even though this new location is closer to my house than the one in summit. Im going to be taking my coffee to go if and when I do visit again at the Westfield location. Id advise any and all to flock to there original Summit location, its cleaner, friendlier, and inviting.

Nice place for coffee and music. Only dislike is the lighting. Theres a huge chandelier with exposed bulbs that hangs low with very very bright lights. The lights are so unnecessary bright and blinding.
