The IQM300 monoblock power amplifiers.Worth every penny, love them.I own a pair of these for about a year now and i love them.I started using them in my main system and on many different speakers, large and small. The first thing i noticed about the sound was the bass and how they get the maximum of bass out of every speaker. You would think this was more so with big speakers than with small speakers but this is not the case. Its actually with small speakers that i notice it the most. The Behringer B2031P was the first pair of speakers i tested and i heard it right away. Not only did i get more bass from them but also deeper, more extended bass. These speakers can handle quite some power so you would think its all about power but its not. These amplifiers have the same effect on the smaller B2030P and even on the same size but less powerfull Teac LS-H265.Even with these i got more and further extended bass then ever before when i connected them to the IQM300.I recently discovered Spotify and i like it a lot.I needed better sound at my desk so i put the M300 there,in combination with the Behringer B2030P and a DSPeaker Anti Mode 2.0.When free standing these speakers dont have any useable bass below 80hz but at my closed in desk and almost against the back wall its a totally different story. There now was bass but boomy as hell.Thats where the DSPeaker comes in.It removes the boominess and pumps up the lows and the bass is now as good as it gets for my particular situation.Because of the low boost the speakers need quite a bit of power when i crank it up and the M300 can provide that. The speakers are about 70cm from my ears so i needed very silent amplifiers that introduce very little noise and the M300 do just that.I use a TC Electronic Level Pilot between the DSPeaker and M300 and i need to turn it all the way up to hear any noticeable noise and even then its not noise from the amplifiers, its noise introduced by the DSPeaker. On their own these amplifiers are dead silent! The mids and highs are super clean and probably sound just as they should sound.I have other, cheaper class A-B amplifiers that it think sound just a little bit sweeter in the upper midrange but thats about it.When i first connected these cheaper amps to my B&W N802 i thought they had better bass and highs than the M300 but it turned out i was wrong. My ears and brain had deceived me.I did a direct A-B comparison by means of a Beresford TC-7220MKII swith box and i found out that the highs were actually very similar and that it was the M300 that had the best bass. When i compare the same cheap A-B power amplifiers to the class-d M300s its always the M300 that give me the best bass.Less clear with 802 but more clear on 804 and even more so on many other medium to small bookshelf speakers.Switch box A-B test dont lie!Again, its not all about power.I have a class-d PA amplifier that puts out 2x750watts RMS into 4ohms so more than the M300 but which amp gives me the best bass, even on the big N802?You guessed it,its the M300! :)
