I thought the overall experience is ok. They still served me even though I came in half an hour after they closed at 12 pm. The espresso is ok and the peanut butter scone was ok but a little hard to bite. Pricing is slightly high, which I paid $8 altogether. My complaint is that they should post hours more clearly because I cant find anywhere that states their proper hours.
Chai Tea Latte and fresh baked muffins were on point. Looking forward to making this our regular stop.
Great neighborhood coffee shop. Excellent muffins made fresh every morning.
Please consider using something other than styrofoam for cups. Use for 20 mins, throw away, lasts 1 million years.
The owners obviously take pride in this local gem. Great tasting nitro brew and friendly conversation.
Service very friendly. The blueberry coffee is fantastic and baked goods fresh. Nice atmosphere and very comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Worth seeking out.
Stopped in for a cup of tea and ended staying to enjoy an additional cup of coffee. What a gemstone! The owner is the sweetest, and this place has such a warm atmosphere! Will definitely be stopping back!#supportsmallbusinesses #community
I hate to put down a locally owned shop but this place was not good. Their iced chai latte was literally a store bought boxed concentrate and the cold brew was bad. Both were served in styrofoam cups which seemed odd. The owner was friendly, though.
Great coffee and muffins with friendly saff
Great muffins, ok latte
Down home feeling great muffins. Great coffee and customer and owners are the nicest people you would ever meet. Just love to go every Saturday morning go early if you want best muffins ever.
Good coffee, I had the light roast,!
Luke Warm BrewThey should change the name to Old Brew. I guess I’m accustomed to a fresh cup when I pay $5I order the cappuccino, the lady took a luke warm drip coffee and a luke warm cup of previously foamed milk, then poured it in a cup. I ask for a fresh cappuccino hot. I got a blank stair. That’s how they roll.Don’t recommend.
Terrible. Coffee tasted worse than office sludge. Super watered down, burnt smell. Just had a terrible experience. My wife got a decaf latte, and they used coffee grinds from a packet 🤮 definitely never going back
A unique coffee shop with lots of personality!
All the reviews here are correct, after reading a bunch this morning I decided to come try it for myself. The owner is kind and customer service is good. Muffins are wonderful. The one I had was chocolate chocolate, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Latte was hot and flavor of the coffee is more on the burnt side which is good for some people and bad for others. They do use styrofoam cups which everyone seems to be complaining about. Be sure to ask for the wifi password if you want to get some work done here!Basically this is what I would describe as the quintessential Chicago suburbs neighborhood coffee shop. Charming in ways only Chicago suburbs can be.On a Saturday at 10:30 am, there was parking on the street (I walked about 50 feet), seats inside, but it was also coffee shop volume. Prime seats were taken by regulars and visitors but there was seating available. The correct level of busy for me!!Photos on the wall signed of David Bowie, Enuff Znuff, Craig Pro, etc with guitars and photos of rock groups and people from the 70s and 80s.
Great little coffee shop with superb muffins! Very good selections. Seem typically priced for private coffee shops. Highly recommend if you have a train to catch. They even have a schedule on the wall telling you when the the next train is coming! Very thoughtful and good idea. Whenever Im back in Westmont Ill go there for a quick breakfast!
Great coffee. Their muffins are to die for. All pastries are made fresh daily.
They definitely have the best home made muffins in the area. If you haven’t tried one you don’t know what you are missing.
The soul of Westmont 😊
Had high expectations based on the overall reviews but it was very disappointing! Gas station coffee tastes better :(
Ive been here a few times on the way into work to get a quick caffeine fix for the train ride in on those days I cant wait until Im downtown. The staff is always super friendly and willing to please. Theyre pretty good at getting orders up quick as well.Ive tried their mocha both times Ive been in and love it. The last time I was there I also saw that they had Jamaica Blue Mountain which is hands down one of my favorite coffees.I usually prefer to have both hands free on the train but when I do need a coffee in the morning beforehand I will make a point to stop here.
Good place to get coffee and bakery items. Prices reasonable. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Very quaint
Came here with my family. Service was excellent and the coffee was great. Will definitely come back.
Very nice people and always nice to people..
The coffee was delicious. The staff was very friendly. And the baked goods were outstanding.
Its a local hangout, its eclectic, and the owner/hosts make a point to know your drink and your name - even when youre not a daily customer. Id have a freshly baked muffin every time - if my waistline could bear it!Espresso coffees have improved significantly with newer equipment which is well maintained. Good cold brew too. A great place to hang when BNSF is running late - so daily!
Good coffee
Im visiting from LA and stopped in for an iced mocha. The coffee was lovely and conversation with the owners was even better. Very nice!
The woman behind the counter was very nice. You can tell she took pride in her work, she had a lot of recommendations.I had the cold brewed coffee and a pistachio nut muffin. Both were excellent.
Independent coffee shop with lots of pastry options and cold brew. The nitro cold brew is not a true nitro cold brew on a tap with a nitrogen cartridge to create the same effect you see when your pour a Guinness. Its just a regular cold brew but very good.
Visited for the first time today and will definitely come back. Great atmosphere, delicious coffee, and the owner Craig was a delight! Definitely a new favorite shop!
Good coffee, neat place and the people are nice. My 2 year old son asked me if he could have a cookie, and the lady at the counter gave him 2, no charge!
Really cozy place, the owner is very friendly and talkative. Great cups of coffee, pastry made fresh each day not amazing but Ive only tried one of their large variety.
I absolutely love everything about this place. The owner is such a sweet lady and you can tell she makes her muffins with love. Every time I return to my hometown of Westmont the first thing I think about is the Cranberry muffin. The place is warm and cozy and a wonderful spot to sip on a cup of coffee while waiting for the train. :)
This is one of the best local coffee places for sure my favorite in Westmont. The staff is always really nice and fast even when there is a line. Great to be so close to the train too, get your fix before heading to the city.
It was my 1st time visiting! My chocolate chip scone was Delicious!! 😘Owner was also very personal.... Will Definately go back!!
This is a quaint little coffee shop run by a woman who rises super early each day to make fresh, homemade muffins. Her care and creativity is evident in the baked goods.Coffee is just average. The baked goods are the stars here.
Best place to get coffee and muffins in westmont. Just opp to metra westmont station.
Great place to get together over coffee or to get some work done.
Ordered latte and pumpkin nut. Both unpleasant. Worst latte I have had in a long time. I am able to make a decent latte at home via Breville Oracle and know what makes a latte bad. With this latte tasting sour with bubble foam that was brown, leads me to believe the milk was not fresh, espresso beans were old and machine was not cleaned. Plus it was too hot. Much hotter than 150-160 degrees for latte.Sad because I wanted to support local business. Plus person was very aloof. I had to repeat myself several times before any response. If she was welcoming, I would have said something to her face.
What a wonderful experience with the owner. The shop is charmingly decorated and the cooked and muffins are to die for! Definitely a place I will be returning to.
Best coffeehouse in Western Suburbs. Great coffee, homdmade muffins, scones, and cookies. Friendly staff. Eclectic atmosphere that puts Starbucks to shame.
I can’t believe how many stars this place has... I ordered a latte with almond milk. Horrible espresso and very burned. Also, they have styrofoam cups! It’s 2018!!! This is horrible for the earth and hugely irresponsible. This place needs to make some changes
The best scones I have ever had. Sylvia treat you like family!😍
Lovely place for a treat before your train. Food is great and service is very nice .
Its the best coffee shop ever and the people are so nice there and I just love going there
Sylvia, the co-owner is one of a kind. She soon became a person that I can call a friend. This is one of the gems in Westmont, and one of the rare local coffee places that feels homely and personable.
Always a great first stop of the day. Friendly, warm, welcoming local place to have a great cup of coffee and conversation.
The place is fantastic! They have a great coffee and espresso selection. Their standard coffee choices were a house blend, a dark roast called earth & sky, and a flavor roasted snickerdoodle. I tried the earth & sky which was dark and bold without being too acidic. I also enjoyed a fresh baked butterscotch scone that went perfect with a dark roast. I, being lactose intolerant, was very pleased that they provided dairy free options. The barista that was as there (Craig) was polite and kind, and didnt mind chatting for a few minutes while he worked. Overall very impressive first experience, everything was fantastic.
Silvia is awesome. Best coffee around hands down. Anyone bashing this place are too attached to chain product.
Love this place. Great customer service!!
Maybe the quaintest coffee shop Ive ever seen. What a wonderful little place!
Nice people. Great smoothie I go back again
Good coffee, nice atmosphere, and a great staff. One of my favorites!
Just what a neighborhood coffee shop should be....neighborly!!
This coffee shop is incredibly outdated. In order to pay with a credit card you are required to make a minimum purchase of five dollars. It is the complete opposite of a coffee house that acts as a community gathering place. The village of Westmont is the only town along the Burlington Northern that does not have a coffee house that provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. Brewed Awakening should do the community a favor and close down to create an opportunity for another store to take their place.
Love how I can stop in before getting on my train. Its always fast service along with great service.
Always a good experience at Brewed Awakening. Great tasting drinks and pastries and warm service are always served with a smile.
Terrific indie coffee shop in downtown Westmont, just a stones throw from the Metra station. The proprietor is uber-friendly and has the most amazing baked goods! Crazy muffin combinations highlight the edible treat options and they recently started serving nitrogen-infused cold brew - definitely worth popping in should you find yourself in downtown Westmont.
All freshly made baked goods and some good espresso. Worth coming to.
Great atmosphere and some nice people to boot.
Was very excited to find a specialty coffee shop near me but quickly was disappointed. The muffins and scones looked delicious but was here just for coffee. The Carmel mocha was made with hot chocolate mix and tasted like it. My nitro coffee was mixed with iced coffee and served as nitro coffe. Overall horrible tasting coffee! Rather drive the extra 20 mins to lemont or lagrange to better coffee places.
A bit overpriced but convenient location. Owners are really friendly!
A sweet place to sit and enjoy great coffee!
Owner is very nice. Quick morning service
Home style coffee house, with muffins.
Maybe I just got a bad cup but it tasted like gas station lattes do.
The latte I ordered literally tasted like old black coffee mixed with a caremal shot... it was disgusting. Very poor quality coffee. And the lady, who I think was the owner was so rude, acted like it was an issue that I was asking a couple questions.
Great little place with good coffee, good folks, and occasional entertainmemt.
Best place in town for a great cup of coffee
Craig was a wonderful employee. Everyone should come here.
The Brewed Awakening has a lot of loyal customers, they have the most wonderful coffees anywhere. They have 6 private blends that no other coffee house has. Everytime I go in, I have a great experience. I have met a lot of friends from our Village, it is like an extended family. It has a relaxed atmosphere. The people of Westmont love the Brewed Awakening, they are open every holiday for the last 12 years, Christmas,NewYears,etc..Its an old time coffee house and that is what I find appealing. The Brewed Awakening is here till the end of time. Its the Original Coffee Shop that opened in Westmont. It represents Westmont, they used to have a min. of $5.00 credit card use but the last 6 months or so they have no min. charge. These are the facts, I go there everyday as a Loyal customer. And I will continue to do so. Becky Yamamoto
Overpriced for coffee thats not all that good. Starbucks is cheaper, and McDonalds is better.
Good muffins and a nice place to wait for a train.
Excellent muffins and fast service.
Friendly owner, excellent coffee and scones!
Friendly. Local. Good coffee.
Great little place, wonderful bakery items!
Great coffee and cozy
You have to be kidding. This place has no clue on how to make an espresso. If you want brown water this is the place for you. Truly bad coffee.
Great muffins
Excellent everytime
Classic location. Not everyone is a fan, but I liked it.
College trendy crowd
Great coffee!
Drip coffee was Okay
Love the atmosphere!
Styrofoam cups :(
