I recently purchased a used Cannondale Synapse and thought I should have the bike serviced. I took the bike to the Bicycle Broker for servicing and prior to accepting the bicycle for servicing I was asked about any issues with the bike (no issues, I just thought it prudent to be serviced). He explained that the hub bearings and bottom bracket bearing were sealed and can only be replaced, not serviced and he quickly put the bike on the stand, checked the wheels for spinning smoothly and suggested there was no need to service the bike. Checked the chain and recommended I come back in a couple of months to change. The whole process took less than 5 minutes and he would not accept any payment I offered for the quick check and advice. It was a pleasure to meet such a knowledgable and very helpful person. I will be back for any future bike servicing or purchases.

Went to another bike shop to repair a non-functioning shifter. They said they couldnt fix it and sold me a new part to do it myself. Not knowing how to replace it, I had a good friend recommend The Bicycle Broker as he had received great service here so I gave them a try. Easily 5-STAR. The gentleman looked at the shifter, mentioned he could fix it and 10 minutes later, had it working like a charm! UPDATE: Owner should really stop spending his time defending their poor business practices on Google, and actually address them in real life.If you own a bike shop, you are expected to be knowledgeable about bikes, but there is more to running a business. When selling a new bike they are some of the best used car salesmen, its the maintenance and lack of service which many others have mentioned in their reviews which make me post this.Their response is delayed, if at all, and ONLY over text. In person they make you feel ashamed if you dont know all the proper bike lingo, and are not clear about what services will be performed and when they will be complete. But what really surprised me is they do NOT provide basic bike maintenance services like tube replacement. Its a very strangely run business to say the least. The owner and crew will need to turn around their customer service and likely bring in some real business help as there are too many well run friendly bike shops for them to remain open in Denver another 5 years.

The sales associate declined my request to even throw my leg over one of his bikes and ride it around the parking lot, claiming that he wanted to keep the mileage low - such BS. Compare that to Wheat Ridge Cyclery - a premier bike shop in the Denver Metro Area. Theyll let you test ride any bike you want, even if its a $5K+ mountain bike - no questions asked. Jules, Matt, and Lee are great here. I ordered a bike from these guys and from the beginning, I didnt feel any sales pressure. Jules is who I primarily dealt with and his knowledge of cycling in general is phenomenal. They had some issues with their supplier that put a 3-week delay on me receiving my bike. I am in an industry where I rely on suppliers and manufacturers as well so I completely understand. Throughout my waiting process, they answered every phone call and gave me updates every time I asked without leaving me feeling like I was an inconvenience to them. I even called the manufacturer directly and the person I spoke to knew specifically about my order, apologized for the delay, and spoke extremely highly of the Bicycle Broker. My bike ended up showing up late on a Friday evening and Jules stayed an hour past closing time to install the upgrades I ordered, adjust them properly, let me take a few test rides, and tweaked the bike until it rode exactly like I wanted it to.These guys are great. Do not get a wheel built here. Lee does not use a dishing gauge and his wheels are not dished correctly as a result. I will say he built 2 good wheels for me before, but when I came back the 2nd time the prices were about double what he charged before and the dishing was way off. He thinks 5mm off is no big deal. He blamed the frame (its perfect after measuring). He blamed the rim (high end DT swiss). I checked his work with tools (Park) I bought myself because I was so disappointed. Even after bringing the 2 wheels back to have them fixed they were still off. I gave you a chance to correct your work and you still couldnt get it right. Wasted a lot of time and money here. If you want a hand built wheel Id suggest buying a good machine built one online at a reasonable price and then having someone you trust do additional stressing, truing, and dishing to get it more precise. I will be building my own from now on.Reply to owner:The wheels were dished incorrectly, that is a fact. The steel washers were only needed for one wheel and i provided enough for that. You added unnecessary weight to the fr560 rim that didnt need them. The redishing that we did at the shop was to correct the wheel that was about 5mm off of center. It was not a special dishing. Centered as usual. I told you the other wheel was off too, but you didnt correct the dishing at all on that. It has a vertical hop as well that you didnt fix. I will have to spend a lot of time and additional money learning how to correct your mistakes. I am still left with 2 incorrectly built wheels and now you are adding insult to injury with your ignorant remarks. Some day you will look back and realize that I did you a huge favor by bringing this to your attention. CHECK YOUR DISHING, ITS SIMPLE.

This place is great, but even better are the 3 guys who work there. Jules especially was great to talk to and learn from. They go over and above their call of duty to make sure you get what you want or need, and they dont nickel and dime you or try to sell you something more expensive than you need to make a buck for themselves. Cant more highly suggest a place if you are looking for a rig and dont necessarily care what the stickers and decals say (not to say they dont carry popular brands, they do--but they want to fit you to the best bike for you, your skills and your budget--not just sell you the label for ca$h)...Again, great shop, all 3 gents seem great, Ive worked with Jules buying my road bike and Id more than likely buy my next upgrade, or toy, whichever comes first, from him directly...Word up.

I have been attempting to contact this business for more than 3-weeks now to get a tune-up on my bicycle. I like to keep my business local rather than send my money off to another state as many other competitors in the area do. Despite the warm, feel good tone of their website, they really must not be looking for any new business/referrals as they have failed to respond to texts, and when you call their shop, using any of the 3-options on their phone menu will either get you to a voicemail, an abrupt hang-up (automated), or they try and get you to text (which no one will reply back to you). He purposely lists bikes over and over again causing issues and violates the very principle of the site.Clearly, if the owner cannot respect such a site, he won’t respect YOU as a customer!Actions speak louder than words and unless this guy cleans up his act and can reads the terms of usage when he’s posting ads on Craigslist, I would stay clear of him and his shady false advertising practices.

After picking up my new steed, I took a lap around the parking lot and the rear wheel shifted causing a loose chain. No big deal, the guys were able to tighten it up for me before heading back up the way. After getting home, I decided to take a maiden voyage on her! I was slightly troubled by the fact that the brakes began to rub after my first ride. I popped her up on my mechanics stand and discovered that one bolt on each caliper was barely tightened down! Pretty bummed that I will now have to pay my LBS to go over the bike to make sure everything else was set up properly. Not the service I expected when dropping close to $1300 on a new bike. Glad they were able to order the bike for me and glad I checked over everything before going on a long ride.

These guys and their Sturmey-Archer products are top notch.Someone stole my back wheel and S2 kickshift hub a couple of nights ago, a quick google search found these guys and wow, they couldnt have been faster and more professional about a quick replacement. From walking in the front door to walking out with a new wheel, hub and tire took less than 15 mins. How is that even possible? Bicycle broker, thats how!

Been looking around for a bike with my travels through the Western most states. I was in Colorado for a couple days and figured id check around. Ended up getting ahold of the owner Lee who had exactly what I have been looking for and just in my price range. It was barley used and i got a great deal on it. Friendly and helpful, worth buying a bike from them and having it shipped then buying from a local shop in bend where I live.

I wanted to share my first experience with the folks at the Bicycle Broker to illustrate their service in a difficult experience. Since starting an immersive 12+hr a day program and having to take a huge cut in pay due to reduction of hours, I aimed to commute by bike. A couple days in I got a flat and with a little free time I purchased some tubes and had one installed on affected tire. Everyone there was helpful and cordial and offered care advice as well as some on some prospective future purchases based on my needs. I loaded the bike into my car and continued my day. Upon removing the bike from the car that night the tire was flat again, and blew out my sidewall on top of that! I was concerned, as the tire was both difficult to remove and install on the rim that there could have been a slip of the tool that compromised the tire. When I called to address the concerns, the owner got really defensive, and confrontational. It left a bad taste in my mouth, as I was attempting to have a civil conversation about the matter, approaching as a professional in the auto industry wishing my concerns to be addressed and investigated. Due to time I needed the job done, so I planned on leaving a 1 or 2 star review. Upon picking up the bike I had a conversation with the owner, explaining both my position which was misunderstood at first. The tech showed me the tire and the compromised section, which was evident that the failure was a material defect, not a service one. The only reason it isnt 5 stars is I feel that the situation could have been addressed better than immediately getting on the defensive. However, the passion for doing honorable business and the owners admission of his own over-reaction, shows great integrity, which is a rare quality today. After the conversation I left of good terms and will be back, and would recommend this business to others. Thank you Lee, Matt, and Jules(sorry if I spelled your name wrong)

Fed up with this place. Bought a bike in April so I would be good to go for the summer. Let me tell you one thing, really wish I would have never came here. I got my bike and after my first day of riding there was a clicking noise. I thought it would go away after a few days. Well that didnt happen. So I contacted them and they did me a favor and came downtown to pick it up from my work during the day. They also left me a loaner for the night, which was nice. But thats about the only nice thing thats happened. It was my free wheel that needed to be replaced, which they did. After them returning my bike I rode it for 4-5 days without another noise. Well that changed after the 5th day, back to the clicking in the free wheel. Also I had a hole in my seat that wasnt their when they picked it up. So I contacted them on this and they ordered me a new one that was going to be brought to me, here I am on August 18th and with that same hole in my seat.So once the free wheel was still clicking I contacted them again to get this resolved. Well they were going to schedule a pickup of my bike which still hasnt happened. 3 weeks ago I called on a Monday to explain this issue, the man on the phone was very attentive and acted like he was really going to help. Told me he would call me back by the end of the week. Well still no call back and still no fixed bike.Avoid this place at all cost.If you want a good bike from a good shop drive over to Colfax and Columbine, its called Velowood. Great bikes and great prices. Even better customer service.

This company shows no respect to anyone with their spamming of their ads in craigslist. I found the same ad spamming the boards over 27 times on the 18th of November. If they show no respect to other buyers, than I would be very wary of trusting them with your money. Go to craigslist and type in spinning bike and see for yourself. Dont buy from them until they change.

This little bike shop is awesome! I stumbled across Darrin and Lee and instantly felt like I was in a old school mx shop, you know the kind of shop where you can tell they are happy your there and they are ready to help you no matter how much you plan to spend??? I am a professional super moto racer and brought my Giant road bike in to have it tuned up, they did the job in two days and then DELIVERED IT TO MY HOUSE FOR THE SAME FEE AS THEY QUOTED!!!! Who does that these days??? THE BICYCLE BROKER DOES!!!! These guys are true enthusiast..... Got my biz for life.... Dont let the small shop size fool you.

Made two stops here during our week long trip to denver. First stop was to buy myself a purefix. Got it for the same price as the purefix website, minus shipping, plus complimentary lights, lock, and tune up.. Whaaaaat?! Cool shop and great staff, I was overly impressed. The choice was clear to return here when our bikes took a digger off the back of the car in breckenridge. We were ready to spend another couple hundred each to replace our bent wheels, but he took 15 minutes to straighten them up and they were good to go. Made a bad situation soooo much better. Its so comforting when businesses use their knowledge to help you, not convince you to fork out unnecessary money. Wish I was able to continue giving these guys all my business.
