Very homely diner. The owner is a big fan of Bruce Springstein as you can tell from the pictures on the walls. The food was great and the customer service was good. They close early due to the pandemic but when they are open, give them a try if youre in the area. The owner mentioned something about opening up a few nights to bring back the dinner crowd.
Friendly servers and good suggestions about the menu. Food cooked just the way we asked (and we are usually a little particular) and tasted great. French toast soft and tasty. Good upgrade to get real maple syrup.
The Diner was clean. The waitress was very pleasant and friendly. Best of all the food was delicious and the portions are large.

My omlette was delicious and the pancakes my friends ordered smelled heavenly. I am not eating carbs and they accommodated my modification requests. We sat outside and the service was great as if we were inside close to the service station. We didnt have to wait long for anything but the servers didnt hover either!
I was killing time when I came across Dorry’s Diner and am very happy and satisfied with the food and the service. Staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. And they have grits.... yes grits!!!! Will come back!

Dorrys diner is the absolute best. Best French Toast, delicious burgers, yummy steak fries, REAL onion rings. Have eaten here for many years. Always cheers me up. Very friendly people.

My western omelette was great. My wife had the silver dollar pancakes, my daughter had the French toast and my son had corned beef and eggs. Everything was excellent as usual.

Great comfort food I had in ages.
Dorrys Diner is delightful. Been there 6 times in two years. Owned by Dorry and staffed by Dorry and her terrific staff, its a completely covid-compliant storefront restaurant with a nice menu and very reasonable prices. Food comes out piping hot. Theyre so nice. Today I had pasta fagioli soup, coffee served in a large mug, veggie & swiss omelet, home fries, and toast. Brought most of it home and its tonights dinner, too. Its decorated with cool music memorabilia, a lot of being my favorite musician of all time, namely Bruce Springsteen. Go!!
Im there once a week. The chef will try and accomadate something for me if possible. The staff is excellent.

One of my favorite places to get breakfast in White Plains. Great lunches and sandwiches too. Enticing specials. I love their egg salad. Friendly, fast service. Cozy diner atmosphere.White Plains is lucky to have Dorrys Diner!

Breakfast is AMAZING
Great experience for Sunday breakfast at Dorrys! They seated us immediately, even though we were a party of 5 and the diner was nearly full. When we spilled coffee, it was cleaned up in an instant and the staff was very accommodating! The food (especially the specials!) was AMAZING. We would be happy to return to this awesome spot!
Went on a Thursday morning, only two other tables were there. Ordered pancakes and an omelette and 2 hot chocolates. The hot chocolate took about 10 minutes.. Ok no problem. Another table walks in and orders maybe 15 minutes after we arrived. 35 minutes after we got there, our server tells us hes sorry he had forgotten to put our order in and it was going to be out in two minutes. Seven minutes passes and they come out from the kitchen with an omelette and waffles... But for the table that came 15 minutes after us. After roughly 40 minutes just sitting and waiting for our food, we paid $5 for our hot chocolate and left. Mistakes happen, but rarely do you acknowledge the mistake and then still not correct it. They were smiling and chuckling. Not sure if it was nervous or intentional but at that point it seems irrelevant.

Clean, plenty of seating, nice competent waitress and best of all perfectly cooked crispy bacon, easy over eggs, properly toasted english muffin and a sane amount of fresh cooked red potatoes. Right on Dorry!

Best coffee shop cooking around. Fun specials like Orange truffle waffles, Pumpkin spice french toast. My favorite is on their regular menu Strawberry Pancakes - pancakes with chopped, fresh strawberries in the batter. Yummy. Great, caring staff too.

The price for portion size here is probably the worst I have ever seen, especially for a diner where you go in with a certain expectation! I am very surprised at the whole experience; having worked in the service industry for close to a decade, and specifically in restaurants, I totally know what makes up difficult customers, including how people can complain and not reallyyyyyy be right even though the age-old adage of the customer is always right usually applies... well, not so at Dorrys!! I opened up my to-go order, which took up about only 1/3 of the container (maybe even slightly less), and the presentation of the little food that was there was a sloppy mess, almost as if it had been dropped after plated. Mind you, I picked up this food myself and walked there so it wasnt sliding around in some car out for delivery either. For what I paid expecting a decent/regular sized meal, I was disappointed by the portion size but tried to do the right thing by calling the place and speaking politely to someone about my concern, all the while explaining that I was sorry (!!) if I was the one who was wrong by just not knowing what to expect being a first time customer about how much should be in there/how it should look. Again, citing all of my restaurant experience, it is usually customary to go above and beyond to satisfy the customer, (especially when they are NEW & NICE!) But the person I spoke to first of all brought up something completely irrelevant to my order about a GrubHub promotion applicable to delivery only (I mention this so they dont try to twist anything when they respond)- I had picked up my food and this was 100% a non-issue and was just a question asked for next times order but I went ahead and paid for my food sans any promotion being honored which was TRULY truly fine, (as long as I got my moneys worth of food which I never in a million years would think would be a problem...)... I was willing/wanting to order more food as well but wanted clarity and to express how shocked I was at what I had gotten for what I paid and was told no one has ever complained before -- ....ok well heres someone which is why Im calling... then the individual literally said to me on the phone before hanging up: I hope you find a place that will fill you up.Regardless of ANYTHING, you cannot speak that way to a customer! That is completely disrespectful and crossing a line- joke or not! So disappointed as before this, I thought this would be a regular go-to spot for me from now on as I work next door very long days and this looked quality from the outside. The girl I spoke to on the phone was very sweet as well. A shame-- really just didnt appreciate the way I was treated/spoken to when trying to simply address what was concerning me.
Easy local diner, next to my office building, regulars there daily, pretty reasonable, good wraps, breakfasts (banana nutella french toast!, oatmeal, eggs), soups, tuna sandwich. Has daily lunch specials, very well priced. Not open late. Counter seating is popular with regulars. All hot beverages served in mugs from someplace they have been or with cute saying on it.
No as busy as other diners in WP. Good selection of food and decent diner prices. Service was good, but they could be a bit more attentive. I recommend this place if youre looking for a quick inexpensive meal.

Basic diner with good diner food, very clean, and great friendly service --no fuss, warm and sincere.Closed in the evenings except Tuesday when they hold interesting civic events of White Plains interest.
The food was fantastic. My table had the pastrami omelette, mushroom omelette, country omelette, and fluffy pancakes. Everything was delicious. The service matched the food in how attentive they were, anticipating our needs and quick to help with anything else. Would definitely recommend.

We were only one of 3 tables, so it was not busy. We ordered pancakes and an omelette. 30 minutes later still nothing. Server comes out and apologizes and says he forgot to put our order in but it was going to be out in two minutes. Seven minutes later, table next to us gets served and we are still sitting there. We got up and left. Really horrible experience and the server was laughing about it.
Food was good, however they were very understaffed, so the service could have been better. No refills were given...never got the water I asked for. Our meals all came out at separate times. The soup was very salty and inedible. The wraps were very good. The cheese steak was lacking in size. Three inches off each end was just roll, no meat or cheese. Definitely has potential, but needs better staffing and some taste testing.
Food presentation and portion is not worth pricing. The food taste was not that great. I will not go back.. I could do better in my kitchen! Very displeased...
Sunday morning breakfast....served, food ok, very small portion on the home fries. After we were served waitress never came back to the table to ask if everything was ok, or if we wanted a refill of coffee. Yet this older female waitress went to 2 other tables making sure the customers were attended to. Felt like we were invisible. Go anywhere but there you might get treated better. WE STILL WERE THE BETTER PERSON AND LEFT A TIP!!!!
Dorrys is a great local place with excellent breakfasts cooked exactly how you want it. Whether you are a regular or just passing through, Dorry and her staff make you feel at home. If you go for lunch try the Bruce burger! Yes, there are lunch items named after Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. Check out the fun memorabilia from Springsteen concerts or strike up a conversation with Dorry about her favorite rock star.

Done with this place. I do take out on my way to work, call in at least 10 mins ahead, then wait at least another 5 in the diner. And there is one couple in there having breakfast!Plus I paid $13.50 for a turkey, tomato and avocado omelet. Rip off...I did give it 2 stars for excellent food though...

Terrible place to go to for in and out food. Waitresses made me go get my from behind the counter after i told her i was there for pick up. Waitress kept giving me the side eye and just overall wasnt the friendly vibe i thought i would get from all the amazing comments they get. Dont be fooled though you could go next door to the bagel place, save some money and still be full.

The stars are for the program that is held at Dorrys after hours every Tuesday at 6:30. All that is asked is that you order something from their kitchen. Regular diner fare with the ordinary specials.This talk was by a group that had just returned from a trip to Israel and Palestine. Hearing first hand accounts was alternatively hopeful and discouraging. No easy answer. Thank you Dorrys for hosting this series regularly.

Gross. Avoid!!! Not sure how this place is getting 5 star reviews. Very dirty and we had the worst service there. 3 people order food from one waitress. We never see that waitress again. 2 get food delivered. I sit and wait and wait, and no food arrives. I finally said screw it and lets get the check and go. The waitress comes over and says, oh, did we miss your food? well I didnt deliver it and besides when they brought the food you shouldve said, wheres my food? So its my fault they dont know how to run a restaurant.

I don’t write reviews but this was not very good, burnt toast, greasy eggs and over cooked potatoes. The two stars are for the nice waitress.
Rude staff, from the moment I walked in I was unable to wash my hands unless I was intent on eating, Without even giving me a menu. The service is so slow I didnt even have time to order my food let alone eat it. Not to mention a nice subtle hint of racism in the air. But I get it Im not your usual customer. Maybe one day Ill look back at this and laugh Or maybe they close the place. Either way thanks dorry for a story to tell.

I placed the order on GrubHub at 9:36am originally to be delivered but i kept getting notifications with my order being pushed back till 11:30. I call the diner they say the order has been ready for a while, then I call GrubHub to cancel the delivery to go and get it myself. We drive over there and we go in to get the food and asked them if the food was still hot because it has been sitting there, they told us yes. But still i asked if they wouldnt mind heating it up, someone takes it to the back and comes back no more than 1 minute later with the heated up food. What a disappointment it was to open up my breakfast to cold eggs and soggy bread. Tried calling the diner to rectify the situation and they kept telling me they didnt do any pick ups today and that had delivered my food, AS IF I DIDNT JUST DRIVE THERE, got passed on the phone to two people who keep saying GrubHub delivered it. Food was absolutely horrible and would not recommend because they did not even try to fix the situation!
