First time exploring Wichita and went for breakfast here. Came in on a Sunday and it was set up as a buffet! I was a bit apprehensive as most buffets lose quality because of the quantity. However, their food was great! Great selections! Not the same typical breakfast. I was flabbergasted that they had pork belly. It was very tender, savory with a bit of sweetness. Absolutely incredible. Their jalapeño bacon was great. Banana pudding was awesome. I pretty much liked everything they had. Great service, very attentive and very nice. I know where to go anytime I visit Wichita!
We (party of 5) loved everything we ate from here: the monkey bread, the pancakes, country fried steak and eggs, and the triple D breakfast. The free monkey bread is super sweet but delicious. The pancake is huge and the syrup that goes with it is so good. The country fried steak is a super large portion. My husband only ate half of it and he is a big guy. The triple D is half orders of the eggs Benedict, corned beef hash meal, and French toast (see picture). The triple D was super delicious and satisfying. The three of us that each ordered our own Triple D ate it all and got super full. Definitely worth the visit. Our waitress, Mickey, was super nice. We also loved the complimentary bumper sticker. Definitely visit this place for breakfast.
The triple ddd was not what we expected. It is pictured in the first three pictures. It was good but very small potions. I even got the biscuit with gravy added. The banana nut bread was the best thing about it.The chicken and waffles were very good. We would order that again. It is the fourth picture. The Brutus was wonderful. Pro tip, ask for a side of sausage gravy. It really competed the dish.Five stars for flavor, but three stars for price
This is one of the best diners in town, period! The staff is great and the food is amazing. We had the crab cake and chicken fried steak. They were both incredibly delicious and made sure we would return. The complimentary monkey bread was unmatched. In fact Doo - Dah diner is really famous for them monkey bread.
Look, I am cheeeeeeep. I squeak when I walk. The wife kept saying we needed to try the breakfast buffet some day. So today we decided to try it. I resigned myself to overpaying for breakfast and just tried to enjoy it. By the time I walked out, I definitely didnt feel like I overpaid. I had scrambled eggs, church potatoes, corned beef hash, biscuit and gravy, sausage patty, maple pepper bacon, jalapeno bacon, candied pork belly, crab cake, smoked salmon, and a breakfast burrito. Favorites were corned beef hash, pork belly, and smoked salmon. Everything tasted fantastic, even the water! Coffee was good. Server was great. Place was clean. I dont know what people expect 24 dollars worth of breakfast to look like, but this cheapskate was happy. McDonalds still has their 2 for $2 if thats what you are looking for.
The best food in the state. The wait is long the parking is a nightmare. But all of that is forgotten when you take that first bite. My wife had the Booring Breakfast. I had the special 2 crabcakes topped with medium poached eggs topped with hollandaise sauce and jalapeno bacon sprinkles and a strip of maple glazed pork belly. More food than one person should eat but it was soooo good. Pro tip. Do yourself a favor add yourself to the wait-list then arrive 10 min before your time so can park or park and walk in. Now its food coma naptime.
Just finished our first meal here, but it won’t be the last. The restaurant was clean, bright, and more spacious than it looked from outside. The service was great: fast, friendly, and efficient. Our coffee was refilled several times throughout our meal and we never had to ask.Our food was good too. My husband really enjoyed the Brutus (chicken fried steak) and was particularly happy with the sausage gravy and the breading on the steak. The portion was quite large.I had the Banana Bread French Toast, which was also well cooked and came with a large portion size. My only real complaint was that I would have liked the syrup on the side. It was good syrup, but the dish came with so much poured all over (and pooled deeply on the entire plate) that I couldn’t really taste the banana bread itself, which was a real shame. I think it is probably amazing.Still, I’d highly recommend trying out this local gem. We will definitely be back.
We stopped here on a road trip and were a little disappointed in the food. We all found ours to a bit bland. On the plus side the desserts and Jalapeño bacon were very good. It also a nice atmosphere. But we did not feel the food quality justified the high prices. It is on the expensive side for breakfast food. Will pick other options for stopping in the future.
Absolutely fantastic place to have breakfast or brunch. The Brunch Buffet on Sunday might be expensive, but its absolutely worth it.Theres almost always a wait so make sure to call ahead!
Nice, clean diner atmosphere. The food was good, but NOT piping hot off the buffet. Sunday is buffet ONLY....no menu items. @ $25 for a breakfast buffet there was no way to feel like you really got enough for the price you pay. Good selection of items including lunch & breakfast foods. A few items (like meat, eggs Bennie, & banana bread French toast could be prepared in the kitchen, but are not on the buffet. Biscuits & gravy were good. Items made from scratch so nice quality of food. Friendly service. Would like to go back when I can order off of menu for a more reasonable price. Probably wouldnt do the Sunday buffet again.
Its a fun place to eat breakfast. The decor is of the Diners of yesteryear. Staff are friendly and the food is tasty.
Appreciated the waitress being honest, knowledgeable, and helpfull! She knew about the dishes and helped me make my selection. Wish I could remember her name.
Heard about this place for years and finally checked them out. The server was so friendly and well informed. I love their jalapenos jam!
Very good food and service.Im throwing them a five star review because they are doing a great job and are literally surrounded by fast-food alternatives.Monkey Bread is fantastic.Recommended!
We had a really great meal. The homemade biscuits and gravy were the best I ever had! Family members enjoyed the Brutis and chicken fried steak. The eggs Benedict were not a favorite. The waitress was great! There were lots of people there on Saturday- use the yelp app and sign up to be in line before you leave your house. I think we waited about 40 minutes. And a nice Wichita original.
Our server, Sophia was AMAZING! She was attentive & personable. My husband ordered pancakes & I got the biscuits & gravy. Thankfully Sophia mentioned how big the pancakes are so he just got one. That was almost too much. The food was delicious. Hot, fresh & hands down the best pancakes either of us have ever had. That gravy was full of sausage & the biscuits were so flaky & tender. The maple pepper bacon was bonkers! This was our first trip here & it definitely won’t be our last
Wow!! We were in town visiting Grandchildren. On Sunday morning while looking for someplace other than a chain restaurant we ran up on Doo-Dahs Diner. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot which is an indication of a good place to eat. We were not disappointed at all. We loved the atmosphere and our server was excellent. She realized that we had never been there and were from out of town. She was very hospitable and even brought us a sampler dish of specialty items of the house. All of the food was great. My only regret was they were closed on Mondays and we were flying back on Tuesday morning at 7:00am. We will definitely go back when we get back to Wichita. Thank you so much for your service and the amazing food. Terry and Ann SidesHot Springs Arkansas
This place is a staple in Wichita, but was my first time. Very busy on a Saturday morning, but they were able to get our large party seated well before the estimated wait time. The food was delicious. We had quite a variety at the table and everyone was happy with their orders. I had the eggs Benedict and was blown away. Tried the banana bread French toast, which was also delicious. The breakfast burrito was humongous and the biscuits and gravy smelled divine. Ill be looking for another excuse to eat here the next time Im in town!
Food was EXCELLENT and so was the service. Had to call ahead to avoid a long wait. They were out of what my husband wanted, but not hard to choose something else just as great. My three teens enjoyed it as well. Well definitely will be back. Yum!
Biscuits and gravy are the bomb! And, as is usually the case with Kansas restaurants, portion sizes are large and cost is affordable. The biscuits truly taste home made. Free monkey bread is a big plus if you get in early. Also, very friendly service, lots of coffee refills, not a ton of waiting time once you’re seated. This place deserves its praise!
Only had a 10 minute wait todayOrdered the Bat out of Hell meatloaf...Amazing..Food came very fast. Consisted of mashed potatoes, gravy, gren beans...ALL were delicious. Monkey bread came while waiting on main course
Haven’t been able to eat here much do to the long line and wait but that’s not their fault, but when my wife and finally got the chance to dine in, it was a good friendly atmosphere and service with good comfort food that make you feel home! Will definitely give it another try when and come back for sure!
Been here twice and both times are excellent. Friendly, genuine service from people who are happy to be there. I work as a sous chef for a living so I mean it when I say the food is exceptional. Ive only had the gluten free french toast (I have Celiacs disease) and I didnt feel sick after. Support this local restaurant.
Best bacon, great biscuits. Didnt like the gravy though
Doo dah diner is one of my favorite places for breakfast! We live in OKC and the diner is in Wichita so we have only been there a few times but trust me, they know how to do breakfast. Everything is homemade and wonderful. The buffet is huge and you can also order whatever you want from a special menu. The people are so cool. Just go there, but get there early or youll have to wait. Theres always a crowd.
AMAZING Turkey sandwich!! It was between that and the biscuits and gravy but WOW. Fries were incredible too. Did carry out because the dining room was super busy and I see why! Took a couple extra minutes so they threw some great monkey bread in as a courtesy. Would give it six stars if I could!!
First time going it was on a Sunday. They only serve their buffet and whats on there is about every thing they have on their menu. Plus u can place a order for bacon, sausage and like French toast piece. $24.95 includes drink. It was a nice place. I think I need to go back try their menu items separately to really enjoy it. Overall nice.
The food was good and the wait staff was pretty friendly for the most part but we had the brunch buffet and our bill was 54 dollars so I would say it was good but not 25 dollars per person good. Way too pricey for me. I should have looked at the price before going and we would have gone somewhere cheaper!
The food here was amazing! This diner is cute, comfortable, and has dozens of great options. I ordered The Brutus, which was hands-down the best chicken fried steak I have ever had. Being from Texas, I had high expectations, and they did not disappoint! My wife couldnt decide what to order, so she got the Triple D, which came with a serving of banana bread french toast, crispy corned beef hash, and Tanya’s Benny. Im so glad we stopped by this diner; it made our trip much more memorable. I highly recommend Doo-Dah Diner!
From food to staff, always a five-star experience.
This is probably one of my favorite if not my favorite restaurant in Wichita. Lots of character, quirkiness, unique decor and menu items. Their banana bread French toast and pork belly and grits ( only available certain days) are amazing. So why not 5 stars? They dont have a kids menu so it gets really pricy for families. I ended up paying almost $40 (after tip) for my 4 year old daughter and I to eat. Another negative is that their parking lot is insane- spaces are very narrow and its always packed. Other than that it is the best.
First day open at this location and the service was excellent and food was what you would expect from here, delicious. I had the Brutus with chicken fried chicken. Nice, quaint diner feel. It is a work in progress getting everything completed but, they’ve made sure that the customer service experience is still the best around!
Oh my AMAZING! First time here and definitely not my last. Sunday has an all you can eat brunch which is a broad selection of deliciousness ... including salmon for those who like and can eat it.😁 it was all good but the handbread chicken strips took my list of favorites with its ultra tender, juicy insides and crunch coating ... we’d eat chicken like this at home if I could make it this way! Then I saw the Tanya’s Benny that you order off a the menu card in the table which is included in the one price - looked so good we had to try it. I was already full but oh my greatness ... this took top place in best savory mouth explosion of greatness. Definitely going back even if I’m alone. 😁
Big chicken fried steak! Large amount of hash browns. Smothered in grsvy
Sunday breakfast brunch. A bit pricey but totally outstanding in all aspects. Go hungry it wont disappoint.
This fantastic family owned restaurant is a Wichita staple and a truly amazing breakfast spot! The traditional, crab cake, and the bacon avocado variations of eggs Benedict are delicious. The banana French toast is decadently delightful. Their house coffee is solid. If you can do the Sunday brunch DO NOT MISS IT!!!
Delicious food, great service. If you go on Sunday for brunch I highly recommend the jalapeno bacon and the pork belly.
Went there on a Sunday morning. No menu service. Buffet only with some made to order options. Not too bad
Homemade corned beef, good biscuits and gravy. EVERYTHING IS GREAT!
Food here is always great, personally I dont like the Sunday brunch because the buffet layout, but the food is absolutely worth a visit during the normal week.
Doo Dah Diner is simply amazing. The staff is very nice, courteous, and knowledgeable when it comes to the menu. Let me start off by exclaiming that, THEY GIVE YOU MONKEY BREAD instead of the average bread and butter that other restaurants do. The menu is full of fun names, and custom food that is delicious. Doo Dah Diner is definitely worth a visit, just try to call ahead because it is pretty popular, especially for being off the beaten path! If youre in the mood for a big and hearty breakfast, head on down to Doo Dah Diner!
The service was good the food was really good. They have jalapeno bacon that was really good with a fair amount of heat. They have a homemade syrup with vanilla in it thats wonderful. I see why they are so busy, we got here 20 minutes before they opened and there was probably at least a dozen people standing in line to get in.
Love their monkey bread very great smothered burrito
The force is strong in this place! If Harrison Ford goes here when he is in town, your inner Yoda should be telling you to do the same! OBI it for breakfast or lunch, you will have to jump to lightspeed and go to a galaxy, far, far away, to find such a plateful of delicious food!
Awesome tasting food. Lots of choices and unique combinations. Prices are reasonable and staff was helpful and friendly. I really liked the old fashion layout inside.
This was my first time in. I wanted to try it because a youtuber i watch said it was really good. Overall the staff was warm and friendly but the food wasnt what i expected. Maybe i ordered the wrong thing, and it was my first time trying banana bread french toast and an egg benedict but I didnt care for either. The Benedict was almost refrigerator cool and the waitress even mentioned I might want to eat it first because it cools quickly. I think it may have been pre prepared because I got it within 3 or 4 minutes of ordering and that wasnt nearly enough time to even poach the egg The French toast was just sweet on sweet on sweet. I drove 45 minutesand Paid $24. I could have gotten a better meal at skaets and paid $14 less
They give you a complimentary cup of their monkey bread and it is perfectly sweet between the caramel and the cinnamon. I had the breakfast pot pie special, it needed a little spice so I added some hot sauce. The gravy that came with it was the best gravy I have ever had and it came with a biscuit with gravy also. The biscuits are homemade and incredibly soft, in a good way. The syrup they use is a vanilla bean syrup and it is perfect in every way. The banana bread french toast may be the best breakfast food that has ever been created, something I will remember for a long time.
Great food in the classic Dinner style service Great friendly and quick I would recommend
This is the BEST Sunday Brunch Buffet in Wichita! Lots of variety. $19.99 there is an all you can eat buffet and a small menu with a la carte individually prepared items included. It is clean. The staff always takes care of you. The new location is a lot bigger. It is very nostalgic. You are going to enjoy it!
Planned to enjoy brunch with family. Arrived at Doo-Dah Dinner only to be told they only offer Buffet Dinning. At the hefty price of $25 per per person! Also mentioned this is their way of handling Covid-19 concerns. A few “brave” soles were passing through the line helping themselves to each offering! NO THANK YOU! Attention Management, MORE people were leaving than being seated.
We were visiting Wichita for the weekend taking professional photos of Cargill and were lucky enough to find Doo-Dah Diner. They are serving up gourmet comfort food realness made from scratch. Everything was perfect from our enthusiastic waitress to the apple oil cloth wrapped table top for two. They have off menu specials but I tried the Chicken N Wilson (waffles) and my husband had a steak omelet with one pancake on the side. They serve up complimentary warm monkey-bread while you wait for your meal, so good with coffee. My coffee was in an adorable cup, the kind youd give a friend or relative for a cheesy gift.my meal was served with a single slice of chocolate covered bacon, crispy perfection that I coveted and ate last. I will let the pictures speak for themselves but these portions are more than generous and everything was delicious! Do you love a good breakfast joint? Get in there and enjoy!
Food was good, especially the banana bread french toast. When we arrived we were told only doing a buffet for $30 per person. The website did not contain that information. For the most part, buffet items seemed to be the same as the normal menu. The food was all good, but not really worth $30. Milk and orange juice were an extra cost.Would return on a normal day, but not for a holiday.
Always delicious. Free Monkey Bread with breakfast until they run out. Best Corned Beef Hash Ive ever had. The fact that Harrison Ford eats there when in town makes it funner too. My daughter always gets the Smothered Burrito. You will not be disappointed. Tell Pat hi when you are there.
The food is good, but this is one of the most (if not THE most) expensive breakfast diners in town. If I didnt have to sit at picnic tables and bingo chairs only to share the table with strangers, it might be worth it.
Food is delicious! Call ahead is recommended. We joined the wait-list and when we arrived, we were seated within 5 minutes!
Crab cake eggs Benedict ... so delicious. If you want a unique, thought out, melt in your mouth breakfast/ lunch, then this is the place to go. Every dish is over the top packed with a punch of flavor combinations and cooked with heat and soul. Best breakfast in Wichita, hands down, no one does it like them!
Loved it! Cant believe I have never tried it. Honestly the limited parking worried me a bit, but we pulled right in during prime breakfast hours. Everything was delicious!
Food was ok, it was a buffet style breakfast. This place was to pricey for that. It cost my Dad and myself $52 +/-. The buffet was standard breakfast items. Couldve gone to Dennys or other place for half this price, for 2 people..
Had the biscuits and gravy which was great. The monkey bread they bring out was awesome. Would recommend the Doo-Dah diner!
Best breakfast in wichita! Also best chicken fried steak! The sausage gravy is really good and not watery like some places. Theres a place thats famous for breakfast off of Douglas and their gravy is watery and they tend to put white dinner gravy on their chicken fried steak instead of white sausage gravy which doesnt make any sense but doo dah has better flavor with everything so I give a 5 star rating!
We had the Sunday brunch. Food was Luke warm and had no flavor. The breakfast buffet isnt even set on with a steam table to be keep warm. They use those little cans of fuel that you lite. 24.99 per person, totally over priced and we will not be back.
Fantastic breakfast. Came out stuffed better than a turkey on Thanksgiving day.
If your looking for good ole southern coming/comfort food this place got it! The coffee isnt good at all unless you like brown water... I got the triple D and added the biscuits and gravy and it was filling satisfying and the leftovers kept fantastically! Be prepared to wait for a table but they do keep it moving nicely!
A wichita original absolutely love their food and the atmosphere!
Food, service and quality was great. It you are in the area it is a place you must try at least once. Loved it.
