Mostly friendly, always a great selection of vinyl, CDs, and a small assortment of turntables, speakers, and amps. Fair prices and always willing to help. Also they really have everything from the classics to contemporary and everything in between.

Best shop in north eastern Pennsylvania! I could spend hours in this shop! If you need records, tapes, cds, stereo equipment they have it all!!! Love this shop! The other shops in the area just don’t have what this place has! Great customer service as well.

Great selection! Prices are waaaay jacked up on almost everything vinyl. Gallery of Sound has much better prices and service, but this place has them beat on vinyl selection. If it wasn’t for the selection I would never shop here. Customer service also leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve never felt welcomed or comfortable in this store ever.

My first experience in this store will probably be my last. I will admit, the store has a very good assortment of media whether it be vinyl, cassette tapes, and CDs, but everything was way overpriced. I bought an album that I needed for a collection of mine for $20 and to say that I was disappointed when I got home and listened to it is an understatement. I would also like to add that every album I looked at in the store was taped shut in plastic and had “DO NOT OPEN” written on the back. So, how are you supposed to rationalize a purchase there? The record I bought had scratches all over it and skipped from the very beginning. What I paid $20 for in this store, I would have paid $0.50 for at the record store I regularly visit. I know this to be true since I have bought a $0.50 copy of the $20 record. I was hoping to get much better quality for a $19.50 difference, but needless to say the $0.50 copy sounded much better. I’m sure I will be able to find a better copy at a considerably lower price and in better condition if I keep my eyes open at a different record store. If you’re shopping for records in the Wilkes-Barre area, you are better off going to the Gallery of Sound. They have a very good selection of records in very good conditions with fair prices. My last complaint is that the cashier couldn’t manage to give me my change or even correct change. A $20 record with a 6% sales tax in PA comes out to $21.20. I gave the cashier $22 and he looked at me as if I was crazy when I asked for my $0.80 change after he closed the register drawer. Overall, I probably won’t come back to this store. I’m all for supporting small businesses, but I cannot do so when they are asking for $30-50 for records that can be found much cheaper elsewhere. I pity the fools who go out of their way to drive here.

Excellent vinyl record selection and helpful service!

Ive been going to this store for about 30 years and have never been disappointed. The staff are always very knowledgeable and friendly as well as helpful. The selection is excellent and diverse. Its not uncommon to stumble upon rare punk records, odd posters and fun collectibles. I highly recommend a visit.

Found out about musical energi from a discog-like vendor. So glad I took a chance buying 2 used but near mint LPs from them!After their website glitched when trying to pay, I emailed them indicating what I was interested in purchasing and later called them up to give them my cc info after they quoted the final cost. Easypeasy.The description of the LPs was spot on, the packaging was excellent, and the delivery from PA to NV was quick (given the pandemic).Will definitely buy from them again and hopefully check out the shop sometime in the future!

A blast from the past. I love the feel of Musical Energies. Vinal records old rock and roll to jazz to new pop, you can find it all. Musical Energies does not discriminate when it comes to variety. More than music- you can find posters, incense, and other merchandise available. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasing. The employees are willing to help but give you space to browse. Great place to shop for all of your musical whims.

Great place for those hard to find rare vinyl records. Always find what Im looking for plus the staff is always helpful. Ive also acquired on record player repairs that Jay helped me with. If there was more then a five star rating Id pick the highest one.

I have gotten quite a few Record Album s,CDs and Cassette tapes @ this store and they all play like new. The employees are very polite and helpful. I really enjoy Oldies but Goodies but they have about everything you could think of.Its your favorite music @ bargain basement prices.They also sell New and reconditioned Record players and Stereo components @ reasonable prices.Check it out!

So I had 10 Beatles and a few other records to get a general price on from an uncles estate. I had to split it three ways for the cousins and just wanted a general idea of value so I could evenly split. A shorter young man with long black hair put his hands up in the air and said we dont do appraisals, we only buy. His attitude was very poor, he was clearly upset that I dared even show up and ask. I asked him for a reference to another place I might go to get help and in the middle of my sentence he just turned and walked away. I was with my dad and we were nothing but polite. The other worker who was nice saw the interaction and could tell how rude the first guy was and I could tell felt bad. He came over and gave us a few tips for how to look it up on the web.I fully understand and dont blame the store for not giving appraisals now that I understand how time intensive it is. But he just could have been helpful and explained that, I had no idea how it worked. This guy was arrogant and not helpful. All he had to do was be a human and talk nice. I was in need of some guitar stings but my dad and I were so put off, we just walked out. Bottom line, dont be a jerk, train you employees to be helpful for repeat future business.

I only make it to Musical Energi once or twice a year but I always find something great when I go. The staff is always friendly and I love their huge selection of Jazz records and they have the best cassette selection around.

The existence of this store has changed my life. I am so grateful for my Crosley C62 record player (selling at the same price as on amazon), the knowledge of the staff, and the huge selection of records. If you are into vinyl, this place is super local and worth your time & if you arent into vinyl you should reconsider because you are missing out on the highest quality music experience Ive ever heard - its the next best thing to sitting front row center..

I bought a 34 dollar record. I got home and realized it wasnt the right one. The owner said he would only give me 7 dollars back. Also bought a record player that I wish I hadnt. Maybe I can find someone to fix it for me.

Store is cool, a lot of vinyl. Owner is odd, sensitive, and zero personality. Record Store owners are funny, they scream Help save record stores then they charge $50 for a vinyl they screwed some sap out of for a buck. EXTREMELY OVER PRICED.
