I was interested in purchasing some windows and doors from custom builders and talked to one of their salesman. I gave them a brand that I was interested in and ask them for a quote. He said he would get back to me but never did. I then asked my contractor to intervene who knew this salesman personally. He asked the salesman to come out and measure the doors and windows and immediately the salesman tried to sell us the highest priced doors and windows there. I was ordering only two windows and three doors and the initial quote was for $20,000. My contractor asked that he submit a bid for something less expensive in a middle of the road brand and that next bid was for $10,000. Ultimately my contractor told him specifically what we were interested in. That price miraculously was only $ 7000. My contractor asked him to come out and measure for the doors and windows and asked him to replace them with an identical door to what I had. The glass aperture of the door was larger than a usual door and the sales person said that was no problem. When the doors finally arrived the window aperture was much smaller and Custom Builders refused to take the doors back. It is now up to my contractor to fix the problem. I would definitely not purchase anything in the future from this building supply store as they don’t seem to care about the customer. We will have to fix their mistake at our expense. I should’ve known better to purchase anything from them as you commonly walk into the show room and no one ever helps you.
