We were introduced to this store a couple weeks ago. We have fallen in love with the many options of toys and treats for our puppy! We have found some really neat chew toys that our teething puppy LOVES!!!

My go-to for all things pet! Amanda and her team are always friendly and super helpful with all of my pets needs. Always willing to place a special order and prompt when letting me know my order has arrived. They provide educational events, an anniversary sale and customer appreciation days complete with loads of freebies, which is a perfect time to try out new products. I love supporting local, small businesses and they make me, and my dog, feel welcome when shopping. Keep up the good work! Its a pleasure spending my money at The Nautical Dog!

The staff was amazing!!! We didn’t realized they closed at 6pm and they still let us shop for my Belle Belles dog food 🐶 and we showed up at 6pm. They were very sweet about it and everything!!! Love the staff here!!! Plus they are very knowledgeable!!!

Visited there the other night because a friend recommended it. I fell in love! Was happy to find selections for my cats and even cute decorative items for myself. The staff was so friendly and considerate. They were very knowledgeable on the products and made great recommendations. I ended up buying more than I planned to, but they had great prices and a great selection!My favorite staff member was Ollie though. He was very attentive and friendly and required lots of petting.Will certainly be back, as they’ve gained a lifelong customer!

I went to buy a harness for my dog I went there and the ladies took their time and in the end didnt sell me a harness because of my dogs shape they could have sold me one that might work but they said I dont feel comfortable with the way it fits. This is an HONEST Retailer ! She even gave me websites to check for a specific brand. Now thst is a way to KEEP A CUSTOMER!

I have watched the owner of The Nautical Dog expand her knowledge of pet care and nutrition and grow her business for 15 years. There is not another place I would spend my money on my furry children because I know Amanda and her employees care as much about their pets as I do. Customer service and product choices are 5 stars. I dont know what I would do without this store! I feed my little guy a frozen raw food, and I would have to drive to Newport News to buy the food if not for Nautical Dog. I like their selection of natural treats and chews, and its always fun to pick out something new for my boy to try when we go in for his food. They do great customer appreciation sales and gifts.

Love this local spot. We drive from north carolina to get our fur babies their homemade treats which our dogs absolutely LOVE. The staff are very knowledgeable about their products and extremely sweet. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to support small business.

AVOID this Over priced Boutique. I had a problem with a purchase & their level of service. I discussed the matter with the manager Gina in person. She was condescending, took no responsibly as I had shopped on a busy day for them and therefore they are not responsible for failures of their staff... suggested I seek remedy with their vendor as they really dont care.

Your pet is a member of your family. You want them to live long, healthy lives. They need the best quality food and treats, etc. The staff at Nautical Dog cares. They are their to educate you. They learn your name, about your pet, about their needs and what they like--they truly do care! And the owner does so much for local shelters, too. ...Yes, some of the big stores now offer some good food options; but this local spot is still very well priced, and their team is great. They also carry high quality toys and other products. They have fun and beneficial rewards programs and annual anniversary and customer appreciation sales. You will feel like family when you become a regular customer!

Only place Ive been able to find Fromm dog food in the area. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

This store is fantastic! You can tell everyone here loves animals! They are very knowledgeable about all of their products as well as other pet related questions. There is something for every pet lover here! The prices are very reasonable as well!

A little on the pricey side but they carry such unique items for both humans and pets so we shop here periodically for those special items we cant find elsewhere. The staff is friendly and helpful and keeps records of past purchases which is handy when you know your dog loved the last bone you got him but you cant remember which one it was!

Great locally owned store that we go to for our dog’s food and supplements. They don’t put anything on the shelves that they don’t believe in and, if it’s revealed there is a problem with their product that doesn’t meet their standards, it’s pulled off the shelf. We are regular customers who will continue to go back.

I recently got a dog and started going to The Nautical Dog for toys, bones and other pet supplies. The owner, Amanda is very personable and knowledgeable about dogs. She has been able to recommend a number of products to me that have made raising my puppy much easier. Mighty, my pup, loves the Bully Sticks that they carry and so do I (they keep him busy for hours)! I highly recommend this store if you have a dog. They have other great gift items as well.

Been here a couple of times. My Mom got a harness for the dog so he could not choke himself when on walks. Lots of products to pick from. The staff was helpful and allowed Mom to try out different harnesses on the dog. Very friendly.

THIS store is my favorite store in Williamsburg..Whether you are a local or a tourist it is a must stop at place! You wont find a more friendly or knowlegeable staff, eager to help you with quality pet items you just cant get anywhere. Just a view trips in and they know my Dogs name (Tootle-Loo).. Best pet store around.

The best and most informative place for all things dog and cat. I have both:) My dog had an early elbow dysplasia, and surgery at 10 months old. It has been so much easier to plan her diet with such a great store in the area, and supportive and educated staff. She is doing fantastic now, 2 years later. Cat switched his diet too, and it rejuvenated him:) Thank you!!!

Seriously love this place! I live 45 minutes away but still find myself visiting at least twice a month! We get everything for pets here from food and treats to leashes and collars.

My wife goes here at least once a week. She loves the place! The owner is really helpful and my wife is able to buy special foods for our pets. Not sure how much money shes spent in this store, but Im sure I dont want to know. Were glad to have The Nautical Dog as a part of Williamsburg.

Good quality products but quite expensive for everything. Harrassing employees trying to sell me items turned me off. I was on the phone so why come up to me and start talking on and off the whole time Im in there?

So shocked I never reviewed before, weve loved Nautical Dog for years and still stop in even after weve moved away! Amanda has created a shop where walking in for anything you need for your little family member is a treat. The shop cat, Schwartzy is the greatest guy ever and has adorable outfits! Amanda is always very helpful with food recommendations and resources. By switching to Verus, her recommendation, our dog was able to get off the vastly more expensive Veterinary Science Diet and avoid all but the rarest flares ups from her pancreatitis. We love the work they do with local charities and animal activism and the shop is genuinely just a warm, lovely place to walk into. Also has great gifts for people who love pets!
